The vehicle has started showing an engine check light with a code 28a0. while researching, i find this is a common issue faced by many owners which appears to be out of a design flaw. the remedy is very expensive and not attributable to any user errors. since it appears to be a very common problem with the n55 engines for bmw, the company should issue a safety recall and get all the affected vehicles checked and fixed.

My vehicle has a faulty injector, shortly after got another recommendation to fix the exhaust gas nox sensor, this all happened within the recall i received for engine, engine cooling : exhaust system: emission control: gas recirculation valve ( egr valve ) did this trigger new problems for my car? it seems like the whole system is failing for a car that is only 4yrs old.
I own a 2009 bmw x5 diesel. bmw has recognized an issue with a sensor in the selective catalytic reduction (scr) active tank. the tank stores diesel fluid. diesel fluid is added into diesel to reduce the amount of emissions that is released from the vehicle. bmw extended the warranty for this part but it is unknown how they determine the amount of this extension. my vehicle is over the extended warranty by 4 months but under the mileage limit by 40,000 miles. this issue should be a recall call and not an extended warranty with limited time to repair the issue. i attempted to resolve this with sean s. at bmw customer relations by informing him that this is my commuter vehicle and i have to drive this car every day. i also informed him that if not resolved this will lead to a large amount of pollution released to the environment. sean s. acting as a representative of bmw north america stated they are only concerned about their business and their bottom line and only will assist me if i'm a loyal customer. they viewed me as not a smart business move to fix the issue and indicated ...

I got an engine malfunction warning light on my 2011 bmw x5. i brought it to a mechanic who told me the issue is the high pressure fuel pump. there is a recall for other bmws although mine is not on the list. the mechanic indicated this is an ongoing issue for my bmw and should be covered by a recall.
Upon starting my car at a friend's house, i heard a brief electrical buzzing noise that then stopped. it sounded like the radiator fan, but the fan wasn't moving. i drove my car approximately 15 miles home and parked it. about 2.5 hours later, from inside my home, i heard the sound of what seemed to be a small explosion. i looked outside and my car's engine compartment was engulfed in flames. it had parked, unused with the motor off for more than two hours on a cool day with temperatures in the 40s with no warning indicators lights or messages. i later learned bmw had issued a recall for electrical fires, however, i never receiveda recall notice. press reports note that more than 90 such fires have been reported to your agency, and i can still find no documentation on your website of this problem.
