Electrical- fuel hatch, trunk latch
The engine light illuminated on the dashboard and the vehicle experienced heavy vibration, and forced to pull over. the problem was diagnosed as a faulty coil. *jb
Audi tt instrument cluster shows abnormal temperature reading, when actual temperature is fine (reported through air conditioning diagnostic code 49c). dealer repaired dead cluster in 2002, and installed a still defective cluster that shows wrong temperature. i later became aware that the new cluster is also faulty. dealer quotes approx $1000 for repair. audi corp refuses free repair. *tr
Vehicle instrument panel had a major computer malfunction causing the gas gauge needle to rotate violently from left to right and back again continiously. cluthh pedal when wet turns into a slippery surface due to the metal on the pedal causing the foot to slip off. the seat belt design for the driver and front passengers is defective causing the seatbelt not to retract. this creates the danger of the seat belt not working as intended.
Central computer has malfunctioned, causing door locks to jam, preventing occupants from exiting vehicle. also, when driving in rainy weather conditions windshield wiper stopped working, causing poor driver's visibility. consumer has contacted dealer, dealer not sure what was causing the problem. *ak
