We have classified the 1 complaints from 2000 Audi S4 about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
I own a 2000 audi s4. my instrument cluster has an lcd display that displays information like outside temperature, possibility of icy conditions when the temperature is low enough to warrant these conditions, average mpg and other information of this nature. this screen also give safety warnings like bad headlight, taillight, license plate light, worn break pads, low washer fluid, low engine oil as well as others. this screen, as described in the owners manual, does indeed provide critical safety information about the automobile. *tr
I was on highway 93 north going 60 miles an hour when i suddenly i had to brake hard and as soon i hit the brakes my rear brakes locked in and i almost hit the car in front of me i had to release the brakes and change the lane to avoid hitting the car in front of me i went home did some research on-line and i found out from on-line forums and other websites that everybody who owns audi s4 2000 have same problem this is a very big safety issue and there should be not just a recall but audi should bee sued for making a car that would and will kill people. *tr
2000 audi s4 abs computer module is defective. code 01203. the abs and brake light flash and beep all of the time for no reason. this is a known issue with the abs units. aoa has not filled a safety recall for htis item yet. we need to have a safety recall for the abs computer/module due to potential accidents when wheels lock up and car skids out of control. numerous other complaints about abs problems and accidents have been documented due to abs failure. it is a simple fix but part costs $1k alone not including labor. looked on forums, it seems to be a simple wiring fix inside of module (apparently there is a poor standard of craftsmanship in the soldering). *ak
The cup holder in the dash board is very badly located, just on the top of the radio and other equipement. if any liquid spills from the cup holder, as it did on my car, the liquid would directly fall on the radio and the other equipement, and could cause a shortcircuit ( as i did). the radio blew up and the heat and a/c works when they wants to. so for me the cup holder has no use since the location is too dangerous. and i think vw has the same cup holder location problem. dt
The radio had really bad reception, cd and tape were fine. the reception only work for some reason ( but not that great) in the area where the audi dealer was. the first owner had audi put a new radio, but it took them 16 months to received the new radio. that is 2 months after i bought the car form the first owner. the radio was changed but with the same result. the dealer said something it happen that the radio does not work in some area, and that it was normal. ( as if i didn't know how a radio worked) i even talked to the manager of the audi dealer, and he said the samething, so until now i'm driving a 40.000 dollars car with no radio, how funny is that! dt
