We have classified the 2 complaints from 2007 Audi A6 about ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING into the following categories.
Audi 3.2 engine on a 2007 audi a6 (and same engine on a4 and other models) hesitates during acceleration, especially from a stand-still, such as a stop sign. dealer states that the powertrain is designed this way, and that it is either the fsi engine which has a carbon buildup, or the cvt transmission. either way, the hesitation and 2-3 second delay is problematic when at 4-way stops, or when making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic. the delay can lead to accidents. also, there is a lot of info web about the fsi engines stalling from this issue (ie carbon buildup). *tr
2007 audi a6 quattro, 13085 miles. "check engine light comes on. car runs in "limp" mode. camshaft control valve failed. p/n 06e-109-257-j replaced. car runs normally. *tr
Purchased an audi a 6 2007 4 years ago. it turned itself off in drive mode 2 months after purchase. this has continued sporadically. it happens after driving the car for some time and then coming to a stop. i press on the accelerator to proceed and the car moves forward. by then, i am out in the intersection or in a lane with oncoming traffic. the mil light goes on, indicating the engine is turned off. there is no power steering and no way to move forward. the car's gear selector is still in drive mode. this is very dangerous. have been to 2 dealers who say they can not find any fault codes so they can't fix it. audi says without a fault code, they are not responsible. $40,000 for a car that broke 2 months after purchase and audi is not responsible? *tr
