Leaking oil 4 cylinders had oil sitting on top of pistons and oil was leaking down cylinders walls passes pistons rings no good and damage on cylinder walls
Purchased vehicle 8/15/19 at select motors inc, smyrna tn. clean car fax report. ongoing oil consumption issues. intake camshaft locked up following oil consumption test at audi of nashville. not driveable now. audi of nashville quoted cylinder head and associated parts, timing chain, tensioner, cam adjuster and pistons. tsb-2027731-8 brought to my attention. engineering defect with pistons a known issue. contacted audi of north america. unwilling to provide financial assistance. car beyond the 8year/80,000 mile extended warranty they offered following a class action lawsuit. paid cash at purchase, put roughly 2,000 miles on the car and and being told will need to spend an additional $10,000-$13,000 to get the car running again for a known engineering defect with the pistons audi is unwilling to classify as a recall.
Audi knows about this oil consumption issue my car is one of the thousands of affected one it's require more oil just after 300 miles and audi won't fix it asking for 6k to 7k to fix the engine i barely have 110k miles on the car. audi need to recall their and fix it for free
This is the 4th time i will have to replace my gas pump and /or my 3rd engine in my 2014 audi a4. my epc light turns on then my car violently shakes and then it cuts off. this has happened while crossing an intersection, driving in the gas station parking lot, at a parking lot after leaving a friends home and at my home. i have reported this to audi usa, las vegas audi and the finance company. today it happened 1 year and 1 day after it happened last. i parked at the store ran in and came out turned on the car and the epc light came on. i have spent thousands of dollars on repairs, car rentals, rideshares and replacement parts for the same thing over and over. i am not sure what recourse i have but i need assistance. the 1st time audi replaced the engine and 7 months later it happened again so they replaced the gas pump, 1 year later the same thing happened and they wanted me to pay for another gas pump because the warranty ended. then its been repaired twice by another mechanic for the exact same thing.
The car burns too much oil, need to add 1 quart every 700-1000 miles. there is no leak but the oil burns and you can see the exhaust pipes are black. it seems this was a problem in 2011 4 cylinder audis and it was addressed by audi.
Car waistes too much oil, i have to continually change and add new oil approximately every 15 days or less. i bought the car approximately 3 months ago from a friend and up until 2 months ago the car showed no issues. up until ends of july when my wife was driving the car back home from work and the car almost overheated... i had changed the oil 6 days before. i took the car to two different mechanics and both had the same diagnostic, both stated it was a factory issue.
Engine light came on. car stopped running--was unable to start it. audi dealership service identified it timing tensioner failure at just 70000 miles. repair cost estimated at $3100. recent class action settlement identifies this as a consistent problem with audi/vw but does not include my vin. however, this is identical issue as other audi under recall
Car has been intermittently shutting down while driving. and starting up the car has become more and more randomly justified. some times it starts up right away, some times it just takes a few cranks. doesn't matter if it's warm or cold engine. i pulled ecu code and it says u0100 which is loss of communication to ecm. well this is a safety issue because i can be driving just fine on the road but all of a sudden it just decides to quit cause a havoc on a busy traffic in houston.
2001 audi a4 quattro 2.8l. as driving smoke was coming from hood.. park and realize the engine was on fire. it look like it started by the passenger side headlight and spread. i read that audi had a recall on head light switch but did not rec, a recall letter. not exactly sure where the fire started my audi caught on fire. i dont't have pictures to upload but i will soon. i am very hurt to know that the car i enjoyed driving caught on fire/disappointed with audi
It appears that due to a manufacturing/engineering defect, the timing chain on certain audi and volkswagen models fails after a certain number of miles. this timing chain failure has been determined to cause substantial damage to the vehicle's engine, in many cases requiring a complete engine replacement. regrettably, this is what recently happened with my 2011 audi a4. in fact, there was a fairly high-profile class action filed against volkswagen (civil action no. 16-2765 (jll)(jad) that was recently settled. (see https://timingchainlitigation.com/home/faq#faq6). unfortunately, the settlement is extremely flawed and leaves vehicle owners inadequately compensated if their vehicles are above a certain number of miles or if the owners missed the deadline for filing claims. the timing chain issue constitutes a significant and dangerous manufacturing/engineering flaw that should warrant a recall of all affected vehicles. the engine failure that can occur as a result of the timing chain issue can easily lead to auto accidents and possible fatalities. i urge the dept. of transportation to take this matter very seriously and investigate. a full recall and compensation to affected vehicle owners should ...
