Problems with 2002 Audi A4 EQUIPMENT

I bought a 2002 3.0 a4 quattro about 9 months ago. a month after buying it the left headlight went out. when you start the car it gives you a "left dipped headlight" warning and then has a picture of a bulb with an x across it. i took the car in and ended up buying a new bulb for it. turns out the bulb wasn't out and the problem resolved itself in about a week. the light worked fine after that. about 5 months ago i installed aftermarket headlights. they worked perfectly up until two weeks ago. now i am getting the same "left dipped headlight" warning when i turn on the lights. this only affects the low beams. the parking lights and high beams work just fine. i figured the problem would resolve itself as it did last time, but that has not been the case. i've done a lot of research and found that many audi owners have had this problem and nobody has found a fix for it. regardless of how many times they take the car to the dealership or replace the bulbs, the problem still returns. i'm not sure what to do about this problem. *tr

I was attempting to jack my audi a4 quattro, when the factory supplied jack collapsed. i received a small scratch and the cladding on the car was gouged. *tr

A known defect in audi 1.8 turbo oil pump .audi failed to recall the auto although they were aware of problem since 2001. resulted in total engine destruction. audi,honolulu refuses to repair. this same complaint is subject of 5 class action civil law suits on mainland. during an oil starvation engine failure, engine explodes, risk to driver and public is significant as noted by civil court massachusetts document .audi is defendant in law suit which lists. deception, and failure to recall vehicle as prime complaints.... injury and potential loss of life when engine explodes is also mentioned in document.doc. no.06cv3513-jcl-mfdistrict of massachusetts1:06-cv-11875-jlt aka plaintiffs second amended class action. audi has not yet alerted all owners of these vehicles that a oil pump defect in models 1997-2004 can have catastrophic oil starvation and explosion leading to injury and or death. i have asked audi-honolulu why they did not warn owners. they respond "we were not obligated to do so" this engine defect nearly killed my son and could injury or kill anyone subject to its engine seizure/burn up. michael healy md mph *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while changing a tire on level ground, the jack bent. the dealership was notified.

Numberous of failures; windshield washer system, driver's seat motor burned out 3 times, all replaced. *bf the first day the consumer went to pick up the vehicle from the lot, the battery was dead, however 2 months later the battery was dead again, and 2 months after that the battery died again. the consumer was told a smaller battery was inadvertently installed in the vehicle. the head light assembly, radio and speakers were replaced. *jb

Engine coil?? my a4 has now been towed four times do to misfiring. they have replaced the engine coil now four times but last saurday was the one that broke the camels back. when your on the toll in rush hour at 65 miles an hour with no shoulder its usually a bad thing when your car stalls out and begins to shake violently.out at 10,000-18,000-20,000-and now it is in a shop why i drive a rented accord(it gets better they tell me that the part is on back order-maybe in a couple days? did somebody say lemon-law.

Ignition coil failed on highway. car "shook" violently until stopped in parking lot. once car was off the road, the coil housing caught fire. the fire ultimately burned itself out, and the car was towed to the local dealership for repair. the dealership notified audi usa of the defect and recommended vehicle replacement. audi usa elected to repair car under warranty. multiple failures have occurred since (see list). ts

Driver's door tweeter cuts out. 8/30/02--speaker is replaced. problem still not fixed. 9/20/02--radio is replaced. the problem still exists. i've given up on the ability of this dealer's service department to fix anything right the first time.... *nlm

A/c condenser spung a leak and all freon escaped while my wife was driving the car. dealer replaced the condenser. *nlm
