Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle jerked while accelerating from first into second gear without warning. the contact took the vehicle to joe rizza acura (8150 w 159th st, orland park, il 60462, (708) 403-7770) where it was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). after the recall repair was performed, the failure continued. the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer twice, but was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 33,000.
Car constantly shifts hard between gears 1-2 and when traveling down hill rpms increase and when the the bottom of hill it shifts hard in gear. the vcm makes the car feel like it's going to fall apart the system is faulty cause damages to other car components. when shifting into park on my pretty much flats road the car rolls forward all the time.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced a loss of power and the gear shifted into neutral. all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. when the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, it resumed normal operation. walker acura (8951 veterans memorial blvd, metairie, la 70003, (504) 464-4004) was contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 189,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving approximately 75-80 mph, the vehicle independently shifted from drive into neutral. the contact was unable to shift the vehicle back into drive. the contact turned the vehicle off and back on, and was able to shift the vehicle into park, neutral, and drive; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to fayetteville acura (located at 2022 skibo rd, fayetteville, nc 28314, (910) 864-1449) where diagnostic trouble codes p0716 (pcm) and b2a60-97 (power train) were located. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was presently still at the dealer. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). the manufacturer was contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Traveling on interstate in the middle lane when my cars transmission went in to neutral and the instrument panel started to flash error messages i.e. stop driving when safe transmission problem see manual, electrical parking brake problem, emissions systems problem, transmission system problems, transmission problem apply parking brake when parked, all wheel drive system problem, and blind spot info system problem. all i can do is cost over two lanes of traffic and get to the side of the interstate in fear of an accident.
The vehicle is shaking at highway speeds , i have replaced the tires ,brakes , rims and the vehicle i am told from the dealer that my vehicle doesn't apply to known issue and there's nothing i can about it , i have had it balanced and road forced tested with no relief it's a concern as the vehicle instability has caused for new hubs and already on a vehicle less than 50k on the mileage
The vehicle is shaking at highway speeds , this does this between 55-75 mph the vehicle is shaking in the center of the car, this is at all times on highway and all road conditions this is on the awd model
The car nearly stalls, rolled back 3-4 feet prior to restarting after the idle stop had in- gauged. the transmission shifts from 1-4 like someone who never drove with a clutch, even though it is an automatic. it hesitates and nearly stalls when doing slow maneuvering in and around parking lots and slow traffic. i have nearly had accidents due to the hesitation in traffic. when using cruise control out on the expressway, the car will not maintain its set speed on a downhill grade, it gets jerky and increases speed as much as 10-12 mph unless i ride the brake. i have had it back to the dealer twice now, the first time they did all the updates on the computer and fuel pump...its just as bad if not worse. the car is not safe and should have a complete recall!!! the next questions ask for a specific time and date...this is ongoing and has been happening since i purchased the car in january.
Transmission is really rough when shifting to gears 1,2, and 3. it is getting worse the more i drive. also, very slow and rough shift from park to drive. when i am driving uphill from a full stop, i hear a loud thud and feel a hard jerk when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd. when i am driving downhill and approaching a stop, it dangerously accelerates the car forward after shifting down to 3rd, 2nd, and 1st gear. it is also very abrupt and jerky during those shifts down.
If engine stalls car places it self in park and will not let you put it in neutral. therefore, you can't get the vehicle out of harms way. this is a safety hazard.
I have had the vehicle into the dealer 3 times (feb 2018, july 2018 and nov 18) for the same problem. each time the vehicle stalls and must bet into park and restarted when at a stop sign, stop light or stopped for road construction on the highway. the automatic idle causes the car to stall. in order to get it going must shift into park and restart. it is very frightening because it happens intermittently. this happens with no warning and presents a safety issue. the car is not safe and is a hazard.
When stop at a traffic light. the car goes into auto- off mode. when the light changes green and you apply the gas. the car shifts to netraul and will not go into drive.i have to shut the car off and turn it back on. i have had this happen three times since i purchased this vehicle three weeks ago. the car has 29632 miles on it.
Vehicle lunges forward after making a complete stop. it's very dangerous at stop lights and crosswalks
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. after the contact started and exited the vehicle, it rolled backwards. the contact mentioned that the emergency brake was not engaged. the vehicle came to a stop when it struck another vehicle. there were no injuries sustained. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
My car is not shifting correctly, its hesitating and making a noise
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to correctly shift gears. all the indicator warning lights were illuminated. additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon starting. the vehicle was taken to the local dealer rick case acura (875 n state rd 7, fort lauderdale fl (954) 715-7796) where it was diagnosed that battery needed to be replaced. the battery was replaced however the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 60,000. the vin was not available.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving 35 mph, the gears shifted hard and the vehicle shook violently. there were no warning indicators illuminated during the failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (acura of avon, 75 albany turnpike, canton, ct 06019), but the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the failure mileage was 36,000.
While driving my 2015 acura tlx the car shifted into neutral completely by itself while making left turn at a stop sign this caused the vehicle to not have the ability to move forward as i attempted to put the vehicle in drive it was completely unresponsive and left me stranded in the middle of the road almost getting hit by a semi truck. this is not the first time this issue has happened and i am afraid for my safety and the safety of my family. i gave acura customer service line a call since my vehicle was not on the list for current recall to fix the exact issue i am reporting and that there was nothing they could do about it.
Battery acid from the manufacturer's original battery leaked, and damaged the transmission wiring harness, which sits underneath the battery. until detected, this caused sporadic warnings and multiple malfunctions while driving that would appear, but then go away. some months later, the car started but the computer would not shift from park. the instrument cluster listed numerous, unrelated system issues: "adaptive cruise control problem" ; "stop driving when safe. transmission problem. see manual." ; "electric parking brake problem" ; "emissions system problem" ; "transmission system problem" ; "transmission problem apply parking brake when parked" ; "vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem" ; "precision all wheel steer problem" ; "collision mitigation system problem" ; "road departure mitigation system problem" ; "blind spot info system problem." this vehicle has a shift-by-wire drive selector, and there is no mechanical way for a consumer to disengage the transmission from the drivetrain. the vehicle was stuck in park and needed special equipment to be safely moved onto a tow-truck, which took the manufacturer's roadside service two days to address. the wiring harness was replaced under warranty, but took several days for a repair. the 2015 acura tlx seems to be known for reacting in this way for any type of electrical or voltage variability from any number of its electronic systems, including while driving.
Went in for a recall notice i received for my 2015 acura tlx specifying a possible faulty transmission in car - went to go have it looked at. determined by tech that car was not experiencing exact issue in recall but car should have a tcm software update since it was jerking at the 2-3 shift. when i received the car back it was 10 times worse! still jerking but now was jumping on every downshift every single time the car decelerates on every shift! this is a safety concern that is very serious and needs to be addressed by acura - a new transmission should be called for since the car is under warranty. the car also just goes to 2-3 rpm's just while sitting idle in park now - my car's transmission is completely wrecked due to this tcm software update. already called acura to request a formal complaint - they told me to notify you as well. - [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb
As the car is downshifting and coming to a stop the transmission jerks forward just as the car is coming to a complete stop or immediately after it stops. does this every so often and the dealer did reset the transmission for it to relearn but still does it since and because they can't drive it enough to duplicate it there has been nothing they can do to resolve it.
The transmission shift from 2-3 gear gives a jerk to the whole vehicle. this is usually problematic while accelerating specially in heavy/busy traffic or at traffic signals. i believe this could be a threat to public safety. the service center claims the "intelligent car" will learn my driving habits and adapt. however, this has been happening since i bough the vehicle and multiple visits to acura service center has not resolved the issue.
Transmission is skipping. i notified the dealer and they have not completed the transmission assembly replacement. i bought this to the attention of the dealer and the salesperson. the skip is happening between the first and second gear change; jerking between the two. this issue has been reported to all 2015 tlx owners. i am reaching out for your support to get this resolved. they seem to be avoiding responsibility to do these repairs. any re?commend dealers to complete the repairs
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while the vehicle was stopped in traffic, several warning indicators illuminated. in addition, the emergency parking indicator began to flash and the brake lights constantly illuminated. the contact pulled over, shut off the vehicle, activated the emergency parking brake, and restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred. the contact repeated the process and received the same results. the contact informed the dealer who had the contact reset the vehicle, but the failure remained. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v779000 (power train). the approximate failure mileage was 61,185.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle seized without warning. the contact was able to restart the ignition and drive to her destination. the vehicle was taken to jay wolfe acura (located at 1029 w 103rd st, kansas city, mo 64114, (816) 656-2281) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. while the contact's husband was parking the vehicle and pressing the park button, it failed and the vehicle rolled forward and struck a rock. the contact stated that the gear displayed that it was in park; however, the vehicle was still placed in neutral. the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). there were no injuries and a police report was filed. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer and dealer were not notified. the failure mileage was 20,000.
After driving on freeway about 5 hours transmission suddenly went into neutral and a transmission warning light displayed on the dashboard. numerous big rigs were around me at the time that came close to colliding with my vehicle.
Vehicle purchase made on 2/28/2016. i have been to the dealership numerous times for various issues since then, mostly for transmission issue. the issues include jerky shifting from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. acura client relations decided to replace the transmission on my fourth visit/complaint. the rough shifting has somewhat improved, but it is still there. my last visit at the dealership and a test drive with district manager(dm) yielded: a) this is perfectly normal characteristic of the new 9-speed transmission. a feature that comes with wonderful fuel economy. b) vibration from vcm (variable cylinder management). i have never had this issue until the transmission replacement. yet again, dealership states it is perfectly normal to show this 'characteristic'. dm's response to my question, "how/why did i not experience this issue on my first full year?" was, "what gas do you put in? costco? they got less additives. there's carbon buildup forming in the engine". that was the response on a 13-month old vehicle. c) chirping noise from engine room. from research, it may be related to 'high pressure fuel pump' or 'insufficient belt placement', which acura has tsb out for servicing. but, dealership claims they cannot duplicate the noise, even with a recording of the sound. (it has to be audible during the test drive, they say)
New car purchased in 2015. currently has about 23k miles. error lights flash on dash including "transmission system problems, blind spot info system problems, vehicle stability assist problem, all wheel steering problem, forward collision warning problem, lane departure waring problem". this is the third time that it has happened. first time, no video evidence of it but we did take it in to acura to look. no issue found. second time we had a video, they did a software upgrade. now again. along with this, car had a transmission replaced, steering rack and pinion, sub frame, power steering assembly, list goes on.
Vehicle shifted into park while driving between 35-40 miles per hour.
Powertrain: in 19 months of ownership, my 2015 acura tlx's transmission has failed twice. the first time it failed (10 months), it would not enter into reverse, drive or neutral upon starting. it took special towing too. the second time it failed (19 months, 22k miles), i was driving in rural texas at 70 mph and the transmission switched into neutral, warning lights exploded and i had to safely work my way to an exit ramp and onto the frontage road. i then had to wait for 2.5 hours for a tow truck which then resulted in a 2 hour ride in a tow truck to bring it to the dealer. suspension: within a week or two of buying the acura tlx, the car began to develop a vibration that i could feel through the accelerator and steering wheel. i could visually see it in the passenger seat as it would shake substantially (nearly violently). on a drive, the car shifted violently and momentarily in a lateral motion at 80 mph while passing another car which scared the wits out of my passenger and me. dealer changed the tires, investigated the passenger seat and the shudder/vibration would not go away. i got sick of taking it into the dealer only for it to return to me in the same condition. after 1 year, the road noise in the cabin grew and my passengers would complain. finally the dealer identified that the right rear wheel bearing was bad. once replaced, the road noise and vibration improved considerably. however, when i drive a loaner from the dealership, it drives much smoother than my car so the problem is still not fully fixed. other: in the first 2 weeks, i noticed that a torrent of water would run down the inside of my rear window and into my back speaker compartment after a heavy rain. it turned out that the back window was not properly installed. a brand new car that has numerous significant manufacturing and quality problems! unacceptable!!! *tr
The transmission is extremely jumpy, all of the warning lights come on and flash, along with the engine will power down temporarily. for example one time i was going approx 50mph and it powered down to about 30 mph on the freeway. all of the warning lights start flashing, i pulled over turned the car off and then restarted it. the warning lights remained flashing but the engine functioned but the transmission still was jerky. this was happened at least 5 separate times and we have had it in service with acura several times and each time they try to fix the same complaints with a different fix. most recently we had it in for repair for a week, we got it back, drove it 200 miles and the same error happened. acura finally agreed to replace the transmission and i just picked it back up on 1/6/17 and the same error and transmission issue occurred today. we have notified the dealership, the nmvb, acura customer relations, and now we are reaching out to the nhtsa. we do not feel safe in this vehicle and we are afraid that the transmission will idle down again on the freeway but maybe in a lane that we cannot immediately pull over safely.
My name is [xxx] , in 2014 i walked into marin acura (located in marin, california) and leased a 2015 acura tlx. this was especially an exciting model due to it redesign. within the first year of my lease i received a recall letter in the mail stating that their was a defect in regards to the transmission. i brought the vehicle to the dealer and they "fixed" it and sent me on my way. one year later, again, i received a letter in the mail from the automobile devision located at your corporate headquarters at 1919 torrance blvd, ca (nhtsa recall # 16v-640). the letter clearly states ?if this malfunction were to occur, it could result in an unexpected loss of motor power, which could reduce vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash?. it also states that the ?fix? will become available december 2016, todays date is november 7th, 2016. i have been driving this vehicle for 2 out of my 3 year lease and the transmission has been recalled twice consistently every year. i have put my two children and wife into this vehicle now knowing that the car could have possibly put my family and myself in physical danger and even death. not because driving is dangerous but because there have been manufacturing defects with the transmission of this acura model and year. i cannot describe what it feels like to have that on the mind of a parent. i see this being handled in one way. acura takes away the car and refunds me my total vehicle lease investment along with my down payment. please take this matter into serious consideration as i am fully prepared to legally escalate this matter beyond the consumer-company level. i can't imagine how many acura 2015 tlxs there are nation wide. this experience has been a disaster financially, emotionally and according to acura potentially physically. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while operating the vehicle, the transmission, crash assist, and traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle suddenly decelerated. acura by executive (527 washington ave, north haven, ct) was notified of the failure. the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was 62,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while driving various speeds, the contact applied the brakes to stop the vehicle. when her foot released the brake pedal, the gear automatically shifted into neutral. the failure occurred without warning. the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and it returned to normal. the vehicle was taken to davis acura (2051 e lincoln hwy, langhorne, pa 19047), but the failure could not be duplicated. the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had no failure. the failure occurred several other times. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Extremely inconsistent operation of 9 speed zf transmision. have taken to dealer numerous times where they admitted the rough shift but said it was performing properly. issues with transmision are as follows. lags when up shifting in first two gears before neck snapping up shift to next gear. in midrange gears vibratatin can be felt while up shifting. transmission is slow in down shifting, sometime starting off in second gear. car drifts back a foot in park.
With only 12000 miles and less than a year of having the brand new vehicle, the transmission went out completely and left me stranded. it was acting a bit funny that morning driving, when i went to start it again, all warnings went off and i was unable to put the car in gear.
I have been to the dealer 2 times for transmission problems. the car has poor acceleration and hesitates shifting. when ur trying to speed up it has a delay which has gotten me very close to 2 accidents. shifting is also very rough, it kicks in hard. the dealer did a transmission update and the problem persists. took it back again they scanned for codes and said they can't find any issue. i feel this car is dangerous and the transmission needs to be replaced before an accident occurs.
Hi, i have a problem with my transmission and i can push the car a feet or so when the car is in park. or if parked in an incline i the car moves back atleast one fourth to half tire rotation. i saw a recall nhtsa recall no. : 14v-779 that had vin ranges from begin :[xxx] end :[xxx] my vin number is well within this range and neither dealership or acura has any knowledge of the recall applied. i also don't see any recalls listed in safecar.gov as for this car as well. need assistance is making sure either the recall is applicable or if its done already need necessary documentation. I have a 2015 acura tlx 4cyl. it is a very nice looking car however there is something wrong with the transmission. i have taken it into the acura dealership and they have confirmed that there is something wrong however they are not sure what. all they tell me is that there are no codes coming up telling them what it is. they just tell me that everything is documented so if and when there is a recall i have proof that it has been ongoing. when you are stopped and then proceed to go the car will jerk and hesitate to shift to next gear. this can happen while you are driving also, if you have to brake and then start again. its very upsetting i have owned acuras before, the acura tl and the acura integra, both cars had a high performance. this car not so much. when is acura going to do something about this?? there hasn't been just one episode this is an everyday occurrence.
Car has 15k miles-from the time of purchase of my 2015 tlx shawd, vehicle exhibits ( 1)rough shifting, (2) unpredictable transmission response on downshifts on highway affecting the throttle and (3) freefall feel when downshifting on downhill. issue (1):service bulletin done to "fix" the shifting, and although better, still exhibits the rough shift. brought the car 3 times to acura and response is "working within spec" even when the tech noticed the hard shift and compared it to a 2016 model with no shifting issue. now every time i know the 2-3 shift is coming, i anticipate a hard shift and have to tighten my neck muscles just in case it jerks and could cause a whiplash feel. issue (2): when stepping on the gas pedal to make a pass on the freeway, transmission reaction time is unpredictable when at times, nothing will happen for 2 seconds, then the car will surge. this poses a safety issue due to: a. not being able to keep up with the speed of incoming traffic due to delayed reaction and, b. the sudden surge after the 2 second delayed-reaction could result in hitting the car in front. acura released tsb 16-012 to fix this issue but does not cover earlier vin, which include mine. issue (3):when going downhill and car downshifts, whether manually or automatically, car surges forward giving a freefall feel before it slows down. again tsb 16-012 was supposed to fix this but does not cover early vin ranges. acura continues to insist that the transmission is within spec and yet, the 2016's have a different part number for their transmission. the fact that it performs differently also proves otherwise that the early versions are faulty.
Transmission issue as follows: shifts abruptly in 2 and 3rd gears. car seems to shift up when braking then shifting down so it seems the car speeds up when it should be shifting down to slow down. when putting the car in park, the car rolls back abruptly.
E-shift provides no feedback when shifting to p or d (only when shifting to r). e-shift often fails to engage. on one occasion, while reversing, i attempted to engage p, but it did not engage, and car rolled back into an object, causing damage. e-shift also requires excessively deliberate inputs, which has caused difficulty executing 3-point turns in traffic.
While driving ~40 mph on an expressway the car started flashing all these warnings on the dashboard including pull over and check transmission. looking down i saw that the car was automatically put in neutral and the gas pedal wasn't working. i maneuvered the car to the shoulder and since it wouldn't shift into park i pressed the parking brake. if the road was any more crowded we could have been killed.
When coasting at low speeds, transmission downshifts and engine revs higher and car accelerates. must brake to avoid possible conlission
Please investigate acura on their 8 and 9 speed transmission. the transmission hesitates and jerks between shifts, is unresponsive to downshifts (unless it is in sport mode), reluctant to up shift at times, grinds at certain speeds and you can move the car a half foot in park. most time, this is frustrating and upsetting for an upmarket vehicle, some times it is concerning as you feel you cannot control the car and could cause an accident. i have taken it back to acura 5 times and despite software updates and a "new" transmission, nothing has changed. i met with the acura mid-atlantic rep and he said this is the way the transmissions behave so honda can meet the government fuel economy requirements. i had a high-gear transmission before this car and never had these issues. i have read about the same problem on other sites and in car magazines yet honda/acura is doing nothing about it besides "software updates." this transmission, produced by zf and installed in other vehicles such as chrysler/fiat has the similar issues. what can be done about a product that is clearly faulty? thank you. *tr
Car shifts roughly when accelerating, just one of the lower gears, at around 10-15 mph. jerks noticeably all the time, whether car is warm or cold. i did not say anything to see if it was as bad as i thought, and a frequent passenger finally noticed and asked me about it. car does not take off quickly like i am used to. feels very slow and heavy. not sure if this problem will get worse with age/mileage, but i'm just hoping it won't become a safety issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. while drving various speeds, the vehicle shifted between gears very roughly. additionally, the vehicle took an excessively long time to stop after applying the brake pedal. while the contact's son was driving 15 mph, the driver applied the brakes; however, the vehicle failed to stop. as a result, the driver crashed into a pole. there were no injuries and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was taken to a body shop where the cosmetic damage was repaired, but the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. on another occasion, while the contact's son was driving 10 mph, the driver applied the brakes, but the vehicle failed to stop again. as a result, the driver struck the preceding vehicle. there were no injuries and a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to dch montclair acura (100 bloomfield ave, verona, nj 07044) where the cosmetic damage was repaired; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. the failure continued to recur and the vehicle was taken to ramsey acura (65 nj-17, ramsey, nj 07446) where the dealer updated unspecified software on the vehicle, but the failure continued. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and suggested a different dealer. the approximate failure mileage was 7,500. *bf updated 8/3/18*jb
I feel my safety is in jeopardy when i drive this vehicle. any time the tlx's brakes are applied and the accelerator is immediately pressed, the vehicle stalls and i have to let off of the accelerator for the transmission to catch and then the car will go. this is especially true at stop signs. this is what has almost gotten me killed multiple times. in one instance, i stopped at a stop sign, i pressed the gas to go because i had enough time to go before the oncoming car got to me, however the vehicle wouldn't go, so i floored the accelerator twice and nothing happened. the third time the vehicle horribly jerked and threw me out into traffic in front of the oncoming vehicle. after backing up, another problem, the vehicle continues to go in reverse for an additional 12 inches. 12 inches that should not be necessary when switching driving directions. this can be noticed on incline and no incline.
My 2015 acura tlx hesitates when changing gears, does not accelerate when gas pedal is pushed and the shifting out of parking position is noisy and harsh. acura has provided a defect code for my complaints (03214) and software updates (operation number 1255a2 and 1255c9), which have been performed on my vehicle. none of these have fixed the problem. lemon law favored in the manufacturer's side and the arbitrators say it is not a nonconformity. honda's lawyer says that i did not take it in enough times and that hesitation for a moment is not a concern. acura says they would not change my car because they all drive the same and that i am just not used to driving a vehicle like this one. the biggest problem with the car is that as it comes to a stop at an intersection or traffic light, it lurches forward extremely harshly as if i was hit by another vehicle in the rear. this is so bad that i have been experiencing lower back pain and have to take pain killers at times. and of course, i have to take this into account every time i have to brake, in order to avoid an accident. you must know how frustrating it is to have to worry about this each and every time i am reaching a stop sign or traffic light.. the car does it sometimes and others it doesn't, so i have to try and predict how it is driving that particular day. this takes away from me the ability to control my car in an emergency situation.also, there was one time when i needed to make a left turn and my car felt as if it were in neutral, did not accelerate and then after a moment decided to drive forward. thankfully no car was coming, if not it would have been an accident. i have to now make sure that cars are far enough so that if it does hesitate again i won't be putting my family and i at risk. i hate having to drive my vehicle because it is unpredictable and i feel very unsafe.
While slowly driving my 2015 acura tlx into my home garage and putting the car into park with the red light indicating the parking gear was engaged and letting my foot off the brake my car suddenly lurched forward about two feet before i could stop the movement resulting in damage to my drywall. the first time this happened was shortly after i purchased the brand new car and i assumed i may had not had the car properly in park and no damage occurred and it may have been caused by so called driver error. when it happened the second time 8 months later my wife and i were both in the car and observed the red parking light was on indicating the car was in park when my car suddenly lurched forward causing the damage. the acura dealer asked to keep my car in an attempt to "replicate" the problem for about 17 days until it could be inspected by dpsm (acura's description) and i was told no problems were detected. in researching this problem i discovered this was very similar to a prior 2015 acura tlx recall instituted last year by nhtsa. the acura service department reacted as if they had never heard of that recall until i gave them a copy of the information posted on the internet. the only suggestion offered by the dealer after their inspection was to keep my foot on the brake when the car is in park until the engine is completely stopped and engage the parking brake. the mileage on my odometer was under 4,000 miles at the time of their inspection and my car is kept in a garage when i am at work and at home so environmental causes should not be a factor. i feel very fortunate that minor property damage was the only loss we encountered from this undisclosed safety defect and hope this problem can be remedied before more serious consequences occur to other tlx drivers.
