Problems with 2010 Acura RDX ENGINE

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 acura rdx. while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to lose power and emitted a loud grinding/humming noise from underneath the passenger side of the hood. the contact pulled the vehicle over and placed the vehicle into park in order to restart the vehicle. the contact noticed smoke underneath the hood. the contact exited the vehicle as it caught fire. the fire department was contacted and extinguished the fire. the vehicle was towed to the tow yard and then towed to the insurance company. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer was not notified. the manufacturer stated that there was no recall regarding the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

While driving the engine indicator light came on. i took the car to a reputable garage who informed me that the piece that controls the pressure to the turbo malfunctioned and caused the car to use too much boost. this particular piece could not be replaced and as such, the entire turbo assembly needed replacement. the car only has 80k miles and has been regularly maintained.
