Tl* the contact owns a 1995 acura integra. the contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the steering wheel suddenly seized and the contact was unable to regain steering control of the vehicle. as a result, the contact crashed into a ditch, a mailbox and finally into a concrete wall. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact was partially projected through the windshield and sustained severe injuries to the left eye, ribs, sternum and knees. in addition, the contact sustained a permanent loss of feeling in one of her legs. a police report was not available. an independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and discovered that the rack and pinion had seized and was the cause of the steering malfunction. the vehicle was destroyed. the vin was unavailable. the failure and current mileage was 170,000.
