Takata airbag recall over the past year or so, i have left several messages for the repair department to have the replacement on the airbags done. i cannot get ahold of anyone in this department on the phone. no one has called back. i tried to schedule one online. that was not done. i tried again today, i could not get through, but left another voice message. the name of the company is vw uptown. they are located at 8201 lomas blvd ne, albuquerque, nm 87110. their number is 505-260-5055. sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I received a written notification that my car was covered under a recall for the defective airbag. when i tried to make an appointment with priority volkswagen chester va. they refused to make an appointment to fix the car stating that the parts were not available and they would not make an appointment or tell me when the part would be available. the written notice says to schedule the repair immediately and i am trying to do this but the dealer refuses to assist. i tried to contact volkswgen directly but got a recording stating that due to high call volumes i should go to their web site. what a crock. so who is responsible if the airbag injures or kills someone when there is an active safety recall and the manufacturer refuses to even schedule the repair? how do you suggest i proceed from here.

When i started turning the steering wheel a few days ago i would hear something kinda ticking like something was caught between the steering and column section. today after i started my car and the steering wheel air bag came and has stayed on. thus my horn and buttons to control my instrument panel no longer work.

Takata recall, i have been calling for months the dealership to schedule an appointment, specifically: serramonte vw located at: 711 serramonte blvd, colma, ca 94014. they never get me through to service, and every time i leave my name and number they never call me back. how to i schedule the repair!

I have had 2 recalls. i live on an outer island in hawaii. in order to get a repair i am being told i will have to ship, via ocean barge, my car to oahu.. i think if vw sells to outer islands they at least need to have an authorized service rep on that island. i am not able to afford to ship a car to oahu from kauai and back. when i purchased the car the shipping to my island was included in the price. please advise

Because the vehicle also was tdi, vw bought the vehicle back from me on 21 december 2016, i.e., i no longer own the vehicle. i received a recall notice for the this car a few months ago and filled out the form telling addressee (vw) that they had bought my vehicle and i should not receive any more notices. i called vw this morning (28 july 2017) to get them to stop sending me recall notices. they told me they did not send it you did. they suggested that i contact the florida dmv, but that is more than useless: they do not send the notices and know that i know longer own the vehicle in question. since vw was kind enough to sell me a replacement vw passat for less money than they paid me for the 2013 passat, i bought it. so, when i get a vw recall notice i think it is for the new one not the old one. this is very unpleasant, since we were on pins and needles from september 2015 until december 2016 wondering if the air bag was going to blow up in our faces. can you find a way to stop sending me recall notices for this vehicle, please? it would be appreciated greatly. i will fill out the form again telling vw that i do not own the car, but having done that before and given that the told me today they had no way to stop the flow of notices from their end, i am asking you to please close the file on this vehicle as far as i am concerned. you need to send this notice to vw to tell them to fix the air bag in the car they bought back from me. your help and cooperation in this regard would be appreciated greatly, thanks in advance in case you can do this for us.

Takata recall. the dealer refuses to repair my recalled airbags even after 2 years of concern. i have asked since notified of the recall for the airbags to be fixed and always get the same aanswer that the parts are not available. i can not drive the car due to the safety and can not sell the car because there is an outstanding recall. what can be done?

The repaired clock spring failed again per dealer. so the air bag doesn't work and neither does the horn or any other steering wheel controls. she was driving and turned the steering wheel and heard a pop !

I received a letter notifying me of the recall over a year ago and still the dealership where i service my car is unable to help with the recall and they say they have no direction and are waiting for further details from vw in terms of how to address the recall. i have contacted the dealership several times and they just say they can't do anything about it.

Takata recall - i'm placing myself in debt due to the repairs for a car that isn't that old. i'm having electrical problems, steering wheel and brake issues. this company has numerous issues, recalls and legal issues with their cars. i din't sign-up to pay all this money out of pocket, and the airbag recall still isn't available. they were supposed to fix the steering wheel recall, and now my horn doesn't work or any controls on the steering unit. now how much more money do i have to put into this car? i'm going to notify the better business bureau. i expect certain expenses, but this is a bit much and unfair to the consumer to incur more debt than anticipated. i have obligations and i have to be at work and can't afford to be off due to all these mechanical issues. especially when the consumer is paying a car note and the car was never reported in an accident. what do you propose i do at this point?

I purchased my car in 2014. i started having issues with the car as soon as i bought it. i started hearing a metal noise and i took it 3 times to the dealer and they could not find anything, then i had a problem with the a/c supposedly they fixed. during this time the car was still under warranty. since 2015 i been receiving by mail a recall (safety recall 69m9) every time i contact the dealer they always say the don't have the air bag in stock. has been 2 years since i received the first letter and they still have not received the air bags, and for this reason they have been unable to service my car. i feel very unsafe! driving the car like this! now in 2017 another problem arise, when i am driving the car suddenly brakes / stops. ( feels like it is going to turned off on the middle of the road) the epc light comes on. this is the 4th time in happens while driving. for example the first 3 times i was driving at 40 miles per hour and the car starting shaking and the speed decreased down to 20 miles, i tried to accelerate and the car didn't response. i had to pull over and turn off the car. i can definitely tell is getting worst! it happened again yesterday and was worst, i was driving at 30 miles per hour and i came to a stop as soon as i brake , the epc light came on and the car will not accelerate. the car behind me almost hit me, i could be dead! how is possible that a 2013 car has some many problems/?? is only 4 years old and has more issues than an older car. i don't feel safe driving this car. it stops suddenly while driving and it won't accelerate. i have to pull out turn off the car wait and turn it back on. what about if i'm driving in an express way?? and the car stops suddenly? someone will crash into me! and we both could die!

Takata recall after having my air bags replaced on 5/5/2017 i discovered my horn will not function. when i called the dealership who installed the replacement takata airbag they told me i would be charged for the repair. i told them they failed in their air bag replacement repair work. i did not make an appointment. so now my car is unsafe as i do not have a horn. the volkswagen dealership is volkswagen of murrieta, 41300 date street, murrieta, ca 92562, 951-894-6555.

My wife was driving car makes a turn and hears a noise in steering wheel. the drivers side air bag light comes on. upon further investigation the steering wheel electric controls also do not work. online research shows voluntary recall by vw for certain 2010- 2014 passats for clock spring. bring to local mechanic who tells me clock spring is bad and i should bring it to vw for repairunder recall. call my dealer in riverhead ny who informs me that even though the passat is in recall range the vin is not part of recall at this time.vw has recall for 420,000 cars for clock spring but for some reason mine is not included and i will have to pay 400.00 for repair. recall needs to be expanded.

Takata recall i have received a safety recall letter about (nhtsa 16v078) for my vw passat 2013. the letter emphasizes that i should "not delay in having this recall repair performed". i have scheduled a visit to vw dealer in arlington tx "hiley volkswagen arlington" through their website http://www.hileyvw.com/ for 04/20/2017 09:30 am. i however got a phone call from the dealer (a representative named huma) today (04/19/2017). she said that they do not have the part to do the replacement. she said vw only sends them parts once a week and they do not have enough to get my vehicle serviced tomorrow. she said she would call me on friday to let me know when i should take the car to the dealer for repair. i am disturbed that they delay the repair of my car while the recall letter says that it should be done right away because, if not, it "may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants."

My lease is ending in may 2017. i have paid into this car for four years and planned to buy the residuary. i spoke with the local vw dealership and they won't do anything here in charleston, sc. i am concerned because i am in a hot and humid region and it makes my airbag even more of a danger!! i spoke with vw credit and they say they can sell me the residuary but will not provide a credit or anything else. i will just need to drive the defective car. i spoke with vw's national customer care and they just fed the bs that they won't do anything because they are following the rules. they will not act to protect consumers unless forced through a lawsuit or forced by a regulatory agency like the nhtsa. it is negligent and irresponsible of vw to place blame on every but themselves. my partner and i have been with vw for almost 15 years but unless vw makes this right and either provides a safer car, fixes the airbag, or provides some sort of credit or incentive to me, vw will lose a customer. i will give my money to another car dealership.

The vehicle steering wheel clock spring was repaired under recall from vw in jan 2016 at 42000 miles and failed again at around 46000 miles, leaving my car without driver side airbags. it is quite unsafe to have such a crucial safety part to fail so regularly and unexpectedly. i believed that the recalled clock spring that got installed in my car is also defective.

Takata recall dealership will not provide loaner. i am trying to buy a new car, and dealerships are devaluing the price of my car since the recall has no fix.

Takata recall: nothing has happened so far, but i was almost in a wreck this morning and i'm scared. what if my airbag deploys and seriously injures me or a loved one? i think a far solution would be to allow consumers to trade in defective vehicles with ones that do not have this airbag at the manufacturer's, i.e., takata's expense. they knew these airbags where defective and it took deaths and serious injuries for them to do the recall. now, everyday, i'm terrified of being even in a fender bender. something needs to be done and soon! we have known about this for almost two years now.

Takata recall. an entire year has almost passed since being notified that the driver's side airbag in my vehicle is affected by the takata recall, yet i still have not received any notification on the manufacturer remedying the situation. all the dealer has to do is replace the airbag, that is the remedy! why am i waiting an entire year for the dealer to replace a defective driver airbag that has the potential to kill me if i get into a minor accident?! this is absolutely unacceptable and i demand a remedy free of charge soonest.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 volkswagen passat. while driving approximately 60 mph, another vehicle cut into the contact's lane and crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle. the front driver's air bag deployed and the fragments from the air bag struck the contact's face. the contact sustained minor cuts and bruises, which did not require medical attention. a police report was not filed. the dealer stated that it may have been a takata air bag. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the contact was informed of nhtsa campaign number: 16v078000 (air bags). the failure mileage was approximately 52,000. parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall there is still no remedy for the airbag it has been almost one year and i am driving around with a car that is unsafe.

Clock spring recall. was fixed in 2016 but is again broken and vw refuses to reimburse the dealer or cover the cost of the repair. due to this recalled part not being repaired properly, my airbag light is on, i do not have a horn, cruise control, not have the ability to use my steering wheel controls. this, i feel is also relevant to the airbag recall. i cannot sell my car with this issue, nor do i have the $ to fix it. it is dangerous to drive it, as it already has an airbag not working, the airbag light on and no horn. i have contacted both the dealership and vw and they refuse to cover the cost of this recalled part.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2013 volkswagen passat. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v078000 (air bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a clicking noise in the steering wheel. the contact was informed that the clock spring cover needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired twice, but the issue recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 73,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.
