Takata recall i have been unable to get a recall repaired despite my repeated efforts and contact with vw customer care. i am in the military and current reside in italy. vw dealers have refused to repair this recall and the response from vw is that they can't help until the car is returned to the us. unacceptable.
I had taken my car to get the spring wire replaced back when the recall came out. i wasnt having any trouble with it then. they fixed it with what i assume was a faulty spring wire. so now all my components on my steering wheel do not work, my horn does not work and my airbag light is on with it reading airbag error. i have looked it up and it says faulty spring wire, which is weird because i thought they replaced it with a good part and now because ive already gotten the recal done they wont do it again under recall.

Takata recall hello, i have been contacting vw for a while now to repair my airbags. i do not feel safe driving my car. i received the first notice that the airbags were under recall, but notified that there was nothing they can do about it. i asked for a loaner car and i was rejected. i also asked for vw to buy back my vehicle and i was also rejected. in march 2017, i received an another notice asking me to schedule an appointment with my dealer to have the issue fixed asap. i called to schedule an appointment and i was notified that they do not have parts in stock and they cannot schedule an appointment for me. i called vw back and told them about my concern, i do not feel safe driving my car and i cannot sell it because no one wants to purchase it due to the safety concerns about the vehicle. vw told me that there is nothing they can do to help. no loaner car and no repurchase. i asked what should i do since an 18 year old drives this car and you are stating that it is not safe to drive, the response was, give us a call if anything happens. they pretty much said that everything is in accordance to nhtsa guideline. can you please help me?

Takata recall: i have been trying to get my recall fixed by the dealer and i have been waiting a few months now and still have not been able to make an appointment with the dealership. they have me on a waiting list but i am tired of waiting. i want the recall problem fixed. i do not feel comfortable driving a car that has a hazardous issue.
Takata recall i found out about this airbag safety issue and reached out to vw and spoke to a care agent who told me that there's nothing they will do about the issue and this is the position in which the company stands. i feel that they should be accountable for choosing this vendor and that everyone driving vw vehicle be reimbursed for money being spent on a financed vehicle or vehicle they have purchased that's being affected. we buy cars that fit our personal needs. family size, gas saver etc. we already take a risk in driving anyway so why should we be told to wait until the the issue is resolved knowing what the potential outcome could be. if the safety of the people were as high as they intend us to believe then this issue would be resolved by now regardless how many affected. it all boils down to money with the people being second. i don't feel safe nor do i feel my family is safe driving a vw vehicle knowing such hazard exist. to be told there's no one else to speak to after your concern has been reviewed by a case manager just won't do. this issue needs to be addressed now while people can afford the concern. no one should be injured due to a vehicle malfunction. vw as well the other auto makers need to be accountable for this poor choice in vendor selection and do what's right for the consumers of their products.
Takata recall. volkswagen dealer advised they cannot fix the problem as they have not yet received the proper parts. i was advised to call back in "3-6 months", despite the seriousness of the recall and the potentially life-threatening risk.
Two of our local vw dealers has informed us that nhtsa is controlling the allotment number distribution of replacement airbags. one dealer informed my husband 3 - 4 a month are being issued. a second dealer told me 5 a month are being allotted. my husband & i both called vw 248-754-5000. two consecutive days to customer service we were told that nhtsa was controlling the distribution number aka allotment number of replacement airbags per dealer. i was denied the right to speak to upper level leadership at vw. we spoke to libby and cory. we are in houston area 3 million plus population. we were also instructed by dealer that we needed to make an appointment to bring our car in for airbag inspection and part verification which involved dismantling our vehicle to check if replacement was necessary and if so we would be placed on a list which we may or may not be called that airbags showing stress would be replaced. the other dealer told my husband no airbags in house and only 3-4 a month were being allotted. vw states only vin, make and model number are necessary for replacement. in our case 2012 passat is in question. vw had no problem with the dismantling and selective, priority replacement of airbags. is it true that dealers in houston area are being distributed a very limited number (single digit) of replacement airbags at the direction of nhtsa in the houston 3 million plus population metroplex? is it true nhtsa is controlling the distribution number to each dealer? is it true that only airbags showing stress will be replaced? your timely response is requested.
Takata recall - we took it to a vw dealer, nemer vw in albany, ny and they said there is no repair available. we are stuck with the issue. we were told to sell the car privately.

Vw is unable to replace the recall, and i am concerned with my safety while driving. i have been very patient with the recall, but we are going into a year now. i have put off making road trips in my car and this is beyond frustrating.
Takata recall my vehicle's driver airbag inflator needs to be replaced as part of the recall. i contacted a volkswagen dealership and they stated that they will not repair my vehicle until i receive the official letter from volkswagen. they also stated that given the magnitude of this problem and how many vehicles need airbags replaced, they cannot tell me when i will be able to get my vehicle fixed. they indicated that they are fixing vehicles in high priority zones first. however, just last month got around to sending out letters to allow vehicles to be repaired even though this problem was identified a year ago. it should also be noted that the vehicle is presently registered in a low priority zone. the problem with this is that it was purchased in a high priority zone and was driven there for several years. i can not turn this car into a dealership for a dealer trade in as dealerships do not accept vehicles with recalls. i can sell it in the state of co independently, however, who would want to purchase a vehicle with a recall on it, that has no timeline available as to when it can be fixed. i feel extremely nervous with my 19 year old daughter driving around in a car that could potentially harm or worse kill her. i find it unacceptable that volkswagen can not even provide us with a date in the future that they can fix the car. i can't even take it to a dealership for a trade in because dealerships won't take cars that have recalls that have not been fixed,
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 volkswagen passat. while driving 30 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the dealer diagnosed that the clock spring failed. the vin was excluded from the recall for the clock spring. the nhtsa campaign number was unknown. the failure mileage was 51,200.

Takata recall in april 2016 i received notice from vw of the takata recall. it is now feb 2017. i have heard nothing from anyone in 10 months about this issue. i called vw and they in effect said nothing is being done yet. they even said no manufacturer has done a repair. your site says 10 million cars have been fixed already. something is certainly wrong with this lack of progress by vw, especially for this dangerous airbag problem. nhtsa must pressure vw to get off their asses. there is at least ignorance, but more likely lying, at all levels of vw. after 10 months i believe my car should be repaired. just because takata is japanese and vw is german is not an acceptable excuse. do your job!!

Takata recall - volkswagen passat 2012 - defective airbag this airbag recall defect has been outstanding almost a year, and 11 people have died from this in other cars, and volkswagen will not fix it or offer a rental or loaner car, nor will they offer a buy back to me to help me avoid the risk of death which could be caused by this defective recalled airbag. i would like to have volkswagen pay me back the money i spent on this car, since they have not fixed it and do not offer any alternative transportation, and my resell value of this car is also reduced because no one wants to buy a car with a recall that can kill you that has not been fixed. i called vw corporate for help, and they told me they could do nothing, and that i should stay in the vehicle and keep driving it despite the risk of death. i want this fixed, or a loaner/rental car to be provided to me at no cost by volkswagen so i don't have to drive risking death, or i want volkswagen to buy back my car for full price because this is all their fault! *tr

Takata recall, i went to dealer and they said they do not have the parts yet, i even offered to pay for the parts and they did not wanted to do it. it is weird because one of their salesman told me that they have been replacing a lot of air bags for the cars they have for sale, i think they are getting safe to sale their stock first and not fixing the cars that has been already sold.
Takata recall what to do to repair the problem?
Takata recall our vw dealer (santa monica vw) is saying they still do not have a fix for the recall notice. we first went into the dealer app. 4-5 months ago when the recall notice came out. the nhtsa web site says what the fix is-why can't they fix this problem? i have a teenager that drives the car who, by virtue of being a teenager, has a higher likelihood of being in an accident where a non-functioning airbag could be catastrophic. please advise how we can get this repaired. likewise, my 82-year old mother-in-law ([xxx]) has a 2012 vw cc with the same problem. so we have dual exposure in our family to this problem....thank you, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
The dealer sold me this car saying there was no remedy for the airbag problem. i signed a waiver but feel that i wasn't fully informed of the danger, and would like to dealer to take the car back or give me full value for an exchange.
Takata recall trying to sell our volkswagon passat 2012 at our local chevy dealer on 8/22/2016. was notified by chevy dealer that the airbags are on recall. we had no idea our airbags were not safe and under a recall. we were told they can not re-sell this car and we basically can only receive wholesale value for it. we were never notified by volkswagon that we had a recall. called local volkswagon dealership and they cant replace because none are available. this is not acceptable!! this car is not safe. we need to get the bags replaced or volkswagon should provide a safe car for us to use until they can replace the bags.
