Since 2010 i have owned a volkswagen jetta tdi and have been satisfied with its performance despite a few minor issues; however, i have suddenly experienced serious and costly issues with my touch screen radio that has forced me to take action. the device suddenly and with no waring failed to operate in any capacity. i have consulted with the vw dealership where i have my vehicle maintenance and it was suggested that i replace the radio with the same model i currently have installed at a cost to me of $795. after extensive research of many hours as well as speaking with other volkswagen enthusiast i have come to the frightening conclusion that this is not an isolated incident of product malfunction. considering vw response to what appears to be a well known and documented product defect, my next steps are to make the general public aware of volkswagens gross negligence and poor consumer relations in this matter. i look forward to a resolution to this problem please contact me at my email address or by phone at [xxx] sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Incident first started with the car turning off for no reason. just stalling out. then it hesitated starting. replaced the battery. seem to be okay, but then both brake lights went out, the radio/control console went out most recently, the seat belt light and chimes come on for no reason and yesterday when i pulled the key out of my ignition the key was so hot i could not touch it. clearly, there is a serious, even dangerous electrical issue with this make, model and year. i have read countless stories online of people having the same problems. why has there not been a recall of this car yet? does somebody's car have to catch fire first? who needs to die before vw does the right thing? *tr

Car would not move forward or backward. had to turn off ignition, then car was fine. april 25th put car in drive to enter street from my driveway and car shot backwards. tried three times and the same thing occurred. husband turned off ignition and restarted car. this took care of the problem. we have an appointment with the dealership on monday, april 28th case #[xxx]. frankly, i don't think i will ever again be comfortable driving this car. i was very lucky this happened in my driveway and no one was behind me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Parked car radio was working, got back in and the entire radio and everything connected to it stopped working. *tr

Fuse box in engine compartment, alarm light about right headlight, right taillight, not working. checked internet many complaints on this issue, check fuse in fuse box engine compartment. 30amp fuse burn marks, slight melting of box where fuse inserts. spring is here. ac not working, fans not to speed, compressor not engaging properly. all else checks out. again fuse strap has melted and/or not in original condition. new fuse box + labor >500 for what i consider a manufacture defect/design failure. driving my dependable 2009 f150. at least i'm cool going home from work. we'll worth the extra $15 in fuel. manufacture refused to replace or assist in $ for replacement. also own a tigua 2012. is now on sale before issue occurs to it, will incur loss on loan. better than being stuck with bad product. *tr

Well over a 100 people have complained about the same exact issue with their 2010 vw touch screen radio dying out of no where. the website with all known complaints is at: http://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-t36009_ds552583. vw refuses to be accountable for their merchandise. wear and tear on engine parts, completely understandable. a $1000 crashing out on multiple 2010 vws is a trend and should be handled accordingly by a responsible organization. however, this is not the case. vw considers a radio a luxury item and will not repair the radio. *tr

The radio just shut off, checked all fuses, everything ok. took to mechanic and said radio needs to be replaced. looked on the internet and there have been multiple complaints about the electrical radio system for the radio display touch screen radio. three year old car should not have radio failure. *js

Was backing out of a parking space and then placing the car into drive. as i pressed the accelerator to pull away, the car started sputtering like it wanted to stall out. immediately took it to dealer for scan and no codes found. car has done this since and no codes again. last incidence was last week and as i pressed the accelerator, the car sputtered so i left off the gas. upon pressing the gas pedal again, car shut off and the battery light on the car came on. placed car in park and it started with no incident from there. took the vehicle to dealership and again no codes so they will not repair. i am scared this car will shut off in traffic leaving me in the middle of the road. still waiting on a decision from vwoa regarding the safety and driveability of the car. *tr

All facets of touch screen radio system including hands free bluetooth feature suddenly died on my 2010 jetta tdi at about 65000 miles. this issue with this year is well documented here and elsewhere. had to replace battery earlier which some complaints suggest is related to this issue of radios dying. volkswagen needs to step up and provide relief to the many customers who have had this problem rather than ignoring it. it truly is a safety issue as it denies hands free use. *tr

The vehicle failed to start so it was jumpstarted with no problems then taken to get the battery tested. the battery, alternator, and starter all tested ok. then warning lights indicating that the right headlamp and right rear taillamp illuminated then went out. vehicle was driven to the dealer and they determined that a part of the fuse box had melted. upon further inspection a 30amp fuse for the brake lights had melted into the fuse panel, but had not popped the fuse. *tr

Exterior lights on both sides of vehicle failed to operate in the dark. entire fuse box had to be replaced (out of warranty) though vw did agree to pay for the part since the vehicle has not been out for too long. *tr

When making a left hand turn car stalls. dash panel lights go out and battery warning light flashes and car shuts off. car has to be completely stopped, ignition turned to the off position and put into park, before it can restart. very dangerous when driving in high traffic areas. you don't have time to pull over. the car just dies! *tr

I was driving on the highway and the check engine light came on. the vehicle would not hold speed or accelerate. i pulled off the highway and the vehicle stalled out and would not restart. we replaced the high pressure fuel pump and fuse box. the car still will not start after a new fuel pump and fuse box, and we have been told that the wiring harness needs to be replaced. *js

The 2010 vw jetta sportwagen tdi (with dsg automatic transmission) was decelerating on a turning lane from a two lane highway from speeds of 55 mph to 15 mph. there was an audible "click" and the engine stopped and only dash lights were operable. no discernible dash light or error code message was received. the vehicle restarted after the transmission was placed in park, and the ignition key was again turned on. again no messages or warnings appeared on the dashboard. note: the seat heater was engaged (driver's side), air conditioning on, turn signal (left) activated, headlights on, bluetooth for phone linked, radio was operating until the shut-down. *tr

I bought my 2010 jetta used in june 2013. a month after i purchased it, i noticed the a/c was not working. i returned it to the dealer and they confirmed that the a/c compressor wasn't working. they installed a new one and i didn't have a problem until 8/7/13. i went out to start my car and noticed i had a light on my dashboard. i got out of the car and noticed my right front passenger side headlight out. i walked around and noticed the drivers side rear tail light was also out. i got home and when i shut the car off and turned it back on, the light on the dash was out, and all my exterior lights were working. it was around this time i noticed a burning smell whenever i exited the car, but i couldn't' pinpoint where it was coming from. i didn't have another issue until 10/25/14 when i was visiting friends 30 miles away. i went to leave, and when i started my car i once again had the light on the dash, so i got out and noticed the same lights were once again out. i had to drive on the highway like this, but thankfully while i was driving they all came back on. the car was fine until 12/14/13 when i went out to start my car in the morning and once again the same lights were out. the last time i had an issue with this was 1/7/14, in the middle of a blizzard. i got out of work and started my car to clear snow off it, and everything was fine. it wasn't until i turned the headlights on that i noticed the light on the dash was on indicating i had a light out somewhere. i got out and noticed that in addition to the same headlight and tail light being out, the license plate lights were also out. by the time i could get in the car they were all working again. i took it to the dealership and they confirmed the 30 amp fuse had overheated and caused the fusebox to melt (hence the burning smell). $500 later my car is hopefully fixed. thankfully the car didn't burn to the ground. *tr

Driver side door will not unlock with the key fob or via button on drivers side door. key in outside of lock will work. intermittently, the rear driver's side door will not unlock at all and therefore won't open from inside or out. dangerous if someone needs to exit the car. in doing a search online for a potential cause, i found large numbers of forum entries for similar complaints - seems to be a common problem in vw's.*jb

Since the vehicle was purchased it has had rough acceleration and intermittent surging but just recently it has exhibited rough and no starts along with stalls which all seems to be due to an issue with the ecu losing diagnostic communication with the vehicle. *tr

While starting my car and getting ready for work i noticed i had a headlamp out. i thought i could drive to work safely so, i started my commute. however, on stopping to get coffee i noticed i had taillights out and upon further testing brake lights were failing to. i stopped at a autoparts store to replace the tail lights and noticed that i had lost the other headlamp and backup lights. i decided to park the car and call the dealership for advice. i had the car towed (to dangerous to drive) to the dealership and at that time it was diagnosed of having a burned fuse panel box. it was replaced for a total of $533.11 dollars. the reason i am reporting this is i read an article in my local newspaper (zanesville times recorder)about the same thing happening in vw tiguans. i wanted to bring to light that it is happening in vw jetta's also. my car is a 2010 vw jetta diesel. the high mileage is due to a 110 mile round trip daily commute. i have the burned fuse box panel in my possession if you would like it for inspection. *tr

Radio/cd player stopped functioning. this disabled the bluetooth hands-free function as well. this is a driving safety concern. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 volkswagen jetta. the contact started the vehicle and the instrument panel displayed an error message. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated the main computer cluster needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 30,000.

While on vacation and backing up in the hotel parking lot, braking, then putting it in drive, the car would stall out; it happened 3 times in one day. luckily, i was only in a parking lot while it stalled out instead of in traffic, which could have been a big hazard. went to the dealer, and they didn't know what is wrong. *tr

I had the ac compressor replaced, vw offered to replace part for free and i paid for labor at gunther vw in ft. lauderdale in 2013. now in 2015, the ac is not cooling again and i take my vw for the 100k mile service. i ask gunther to check on the ac system and the ac failed a performance test. ac compressor, radiator and cooling fan needs to be replace at a cost of $1300! rediculous! the quality of this car and its components is aweful! ive never heard of an ac system needing to be replaced less than 5 years of manufacturing date of car , on top of an ac compressor replacement under 75k miles. i would like vw to cover the cost of the parts needed to run my ac at optinum condition.

I have a 2010 volkswagen jetta sportwagon. i have had to replace both rear door locks. the first stopped working shortly after the car was off warranty, but i made a fuss at the dealer and he replaced it for free. the driver side rear door i just had to replace--which i had to pay $500 to fix. this is not just a security issue but a real safety issue as well.--my brother's son is autistic, and he absolutely can not ride in my car if the rear doors cannot be safely locked. the dealer was not forthcoming about whether door lock failure is a common problem on volkswagens--and i had trouble searching complaints on this website--so i don't know if this is a more widespread issue or not. *tr

2010 volkswagen jetta. consumer writes in regards to vehicle horn going out. *smd

The vehicle had driven fine all day when all of a sudden when i pulled up to a stop sign, the car died like it was running out of gas. i was in the middle of a the road at the stop sign, the car managed to start again and drive another couple hundred feet to get it off to the side of the road. luckily i made it just past a set of rail road tracks. the car did not start again and had to be towed. the vehicle had its entire fuel injection pump system replaced along with the sensors. mechanics have told me that the pumps should last the life of the engine. *tr

I was traveling up a mountain road when my car decided to turn off. i had to coast across incoming traffic to the turnout. i waited here until i was able to get my car started and was able to drive home. i made an appointment for the following day to have it checked out. i was told it was the engine speed sensor. the epc and engine light were going on intermittently. there was no reason that my car should have these problems not covered by warranty when it is only about 2 years old with less than 60,000 miles on it. *tr

Vw jetta tdi purchased in december 2009 in savannah, ga. the rear passenger door has had intermittent problems with the window bumping off the top when we attempt to close it. it then retracts to fully open. the main problem currently is the door lock on the same door. it will not lock under any type of attempt. i have tried the fob, the interior door lock on the driver door, and the lock on the door itself. i took it to the dealer who determined that i need a new lock assembly at the cost of $600. they later offered a reduced price of $491. fortunately, i purchased a warranty when i bought the car and i only will be charged the $100 deductible. thank goodness. the car has 60,000 miles on it and it seems a shame that the car is not safe at that minimal amount of miles. *tr

I was driving on the highway doing about 55 miles an hour with full traffic and my jetta sputtered and began to lose speed-quickly, i tried to accelerate by pressing gas pedal but nothing happened and i luckily coasted into store parking lot. i tried to restart it but it would not restart. i had it towed to vw dealership and they called me the next day to say it was the intercoolant system and it would be 1300.00. very very lucky i was not hit. *tr

On monday, 11-19, after work i noticed that the bulb indicator light was in on the dashboard. i got out and walked around the car to see what went out and could not find anything. after getting back in i saw that the light was off. the next day when my husband got in the car the same incident happened. later that same day i drove the car and the light came on. as i turned into a fuel station the turn signal began to flash quickly (indicating the turn signal was out). after i refuel the lights all came back on. no problems were noticed until thursday, 11-22, when my husband started the car and the indicator light was on and he got out to check and the passenger turn signals was out, along with the passenger headlight, and the whole driver side tail light assembly is out. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the transmission overheat warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact moved off the roadway and restarted the vehicle, as it resumed properly. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for inspection where they advised the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. the dealer also stated that while performing an inspection of the vehicle, he noticed that the wires that were connected to the alternator were burned and the fuse block needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 78,000.

First incident: occurred in fall 2012, exact date unknown. slowing to turn right, vehicle stalled without warning. power steering was not responding. it was taken to dealership the next day. vehicle was evaluated, nothing was found. we were told that they could see some sort of power interruption, but could find nothing wrong with any of the systems involved. second incident: occurred about 1 months after first incident. while slowing to a stop, intending to make a left turn out of parking lot, again vehicle stalled without warning. did not take car to dealership, as it had just recently been evaluated. gas was < 1/8 tank filled, and parking lot exit was on a slight decline, suspected maybe it was related to low fuel, and we tried to keep the car above 1/4 tank full at all times thereafter. third incident: occurred 4/29/14. slowing to pull into a parking space, again engine stalled without warning. i noted that the battery indicator light on the dashboard lit up slightly before or as car was stalling. power steering failed as well when car stalled. radio / heater / other electronics seemed unaffected after a brief flicker. fourth incident: occurred about 20 minutes later on 4/29/14. slowing for a stop light, vehicle stalled unexpectedly. car is due for inspection, appointment in 2 days. dealership asked to investigate stalling as well. *js

Doors unlock with the keyless entry so i have to manually open the door from the inside- this seems like it is a safety hazard to me. i had three of the four door latches replaced (2 under warranty & 1 i had to pay for) and now the fourth door needs to be replaced. i will have to pay to get it replaced. it seems like this is a known problem why isn't the manufacture paying for it? *jb

The seal between the connectors and the drain hose for the sunroof drains leak (three of four connectors), allowing water to run down the both driver and passenger side a-pillars. this resulted in the airbag and its associated mounts/wiring and harness getting soaked. the water continued down the a pillars to collect in the front wheel wells. the path of the water was over/through the drivers side interior junction/fuze block. the rear drains also leak, causing intermittent electrical malfunctions. note that this leak is not due to the drains being blocked. rather the seals between the white plastic that connects to the drain and the brown drain hose is not complete. this allows water to drip down onto the frame. as much as 2-3 gallons of water could enter during a mild rain storm. *tr

I have a 2010 jetta wolfsburg 2.0 turbo. i have had nothing but problems with it and the dealer can't seem to help me. the doors won't lock or unlock consistently with the key fob. when i lock it, the horn beeps to let me know the alarm is on, but the doors don't lock! not even manually. if i open the door, the alarm sounds, but the doors won't lock! the touchscreen radio made a popping sound about 5 days ago and went completely black. the radio is hooked up to the car's blue tooth so that is not working either. no hands free talking for me! i also paid a lot of money to have a lifetime subscription to sirius satellite radio for that car. that sucks! the blinkers don't work properly. if i put my left blinker on, the right one goes on and vice versa. my expensive key, broke off in the ignition randomly. the car stalls while idling. the gas pedal gets stuck in the "up" position causing me to lose acceleration on the highway and barely be able to move. my check engine light is constantly going on and off for no apparent reason. it is one thing after another. the car is only 4 yrs old! these are safety issues that it seems lots of vw owners are having. having no locking doors, or doors that won't unlock, no alarm, no radio/bluetooth, faulty blinkers, and a sticky gas pedal are all dangerous! i left my car at the dealer for a whole day and they said "hmmmm......it's a mystery" um....what! from what i can see, i should be expecting my car battery to die any day now due to the radio. lemon! *tr

Car has had issues 4k on. car would accelerate on its own from 70 mph to 75 like wide open throttle. car will quit at highway speeds 70 mph (no power steering, no brakes, just the service engine now and glowplug light are on flashing,(50k on) this has happened 4 times, car will quit making a right hand turn hitting pothole (50k on). total dpf system has been changed out two times from two dealers , 3 total with original. erratic egr signal was always tripping check engine light, some faults but not all are exhaust gas recirc flow insufficient detected sporadic, cylinder 2 injector n31 open circuit sporadic, exhaust aftertreatment fuel supply control performance sporadic, throttle actuator control motor circuit range/performance sporadic, navigation antenna (gps) short to earth. dealers have spent over 20 thousand dollars parts and labor, in 4 different shops over 83 days (overnight), over 95 including reading codes only. out of warranty expenditures over 1 thousand dollars so far. 69,000 miles and the dealer tech has no idea how to fix this car, he started out saying he has never seen a car he can't fix. i have over 50 pages of dealer documented faults and repairs, reprogramming ecu, was replaced this year to see if that would fix problems, some gone but now major issues listed above are happening. replaced diesel particulate filter 2 times, replaced o2 sensors, replaced egr sensors and gaskets 2 times, replace throttle position sensor, replaced pressure sensor. only item not replaced is the wiring harness. *tr

The car affected is a 2010 vw jetta tdi. ever since i've owned the car, it has had an issue with running ruff or stalling out. at 30,426 miles i had the dealer look at the vehicle. they ran a diagnostic and test drive with no issues found. this enough for it to be noticeable, but no symptoms are present. i brought the car in again for the same issue on 12/8/14 at 83748 miles, but this time there was an esp error that flashed in the mdi display and then went away. the dealer could not verify the customer complaint. the service manager also stated that he had a similar vehicle with the same problem and the could also not be diagnosed. at the time the dealer told me that i could have the software upgraded and that would be a charge to me or i could have the injectors changed out and that would be covered under the extended warranty. the were charging according to how they were going to fix the problem, not on the issue itself. vw sent me the paperwork in april of 2015 to get my money back. the dealer recommended changing the mdi display, but was not sure this would fix the problem. my concern is that there is an issue that volkswagen cannot diagnose that could possibly turn into a safety issue with the car stalling. *tr

Driving in heavy traffic at 45 mph the car dash dinged, i looked down and immediately the car lost power. i was almost in multiple accidents as the car slowed rapidly without brake lights (the car engine stopped so suddenly that it took three or four seconds to comprehend the situation and activate hazard lights and take appropriate action) to warn other cars that i no longer have power. also, to try and move out of harms way was extremely difficult as the car had no engine power. the car was eventually towed to the dealer where they determined that metal from the fuel pump was in the entire fuel system. *tr

Our 2010 vw jetta tdi sportwagen unexpectedly stalled shortly after starting last night. the battery light went on, i then turned keys off and on and it was fine. saw that there were other complaints, so wanted to add mine. *tr

I had come to a full stop and was idling at a red light in a busy intersection when the engine stopped suddenly. no misfiring or rough moments before stopping, just a sudden cut off. i put the engine in park and tried restarting the engine. no success. i put the engine in neutral and got a push to the side of the road. tried starting the engine several times, in park, with no success. vw called a tow truck. before accepting a tow i turned the ignition fully off and tried restarting the engine. this time it started. i cancelled the tow. car is running normally again. this sudden stopping of my engine happened one other time when the car had about 4000 miles on it. i was pulling out of a parking place and the engine shut off as i was pulling forward after just having put it in drive. i restarted the car and a few seconds later the engine started misfiring, but only for a second. then it ran fine. no further mishaps until may 17, 2011 at 17,500 miles. i notified vw of the mishap when i took it in for it's first check-up. vw said they didn't find anything wrong and didn't know why it happened. i currently have a call in to vw again, but have not yet heard back from them.

While driving at 35mph, car stalled out. battery light flashed, radio etc stayed on, but car had no power at all. rolled to next intersection, turned car off, and restarted it. took it to dealer, they said it was a software update, which they then performed. aug. 24 exiting i95, 65mph, same thing happens, i pressed the gas and the engine was totally dead. lights and radio stayed on. once again i rolled to a stop, and restarted the car. took it to the dealer, they kept it for an hour and said there was nothing wrong with my car. so i took it to another dealer. after having my car for a week they were able to duplicate my problem. their computers were hooked up to my car at the time, and showed no faults. so they were back and forth with vw tech support, and they are flying in an engineer, and they think it might be the steering control module malfunctioning. they have had my car for two weeks now, i have no idea when it will be fixed, if ever. *tr

We have owned this 2010 jetta sportwagen tdi since brand new. today 1/28/14 is the fourth time we have had to replace the lock mechanism on one of the doors. part numbers 3b4-839-016-ap (left rear), 3b1-837-016-cg (right front) and 3b4-839-015-ap (right rear) have all been replaced at least once. right rear latch has been replaced twice - only once under warranty. in looking on nhtsa web site there are 8 other reports of problems with latches in the 2010 jetta. this is a serious safety concern because most of the reports (including mine) were for doors that would not unlock and doors that would not open no matter what the reporting party tried. can you imagine if these latches failed in an accident and children sitting in the rear seats were trapped? *tr

Volkswagen 2010 jetta tdi stationwagon - pulled to stop light and car just shut off - everything all electronics and engine. *tr

On a 40 degree day i drove the car about 1 mile. at a traffic light it stalled. i had to keep the car in park until the light changed, then i put it in drive. when the car was initially started it didn't seem right. it didn't seem to have power or pick up. i noticed the tachometer was quickly bouncing between 1800 rpm down to 400 rpm prior to stalling. car had half a tank of diesel, outside weather conditions were dry. *tr the consumer stated the stalling is still ongoing. the dealer believed the stalling was a result of different additives in the fuel between winter and summer. updated 09/14/11

I was driving my 2010 vw jetta with my husband and 6 yr old daughter, under normal weather conditions approaching an intersection, about to turn left across the intersection when my vehicle just died. it was towed into where i purchased it seeing as it was only 90 days old and they have had it since. there has been no formal diagnosis, i was told it "could be electrical" and some electrical wires were cleaned and replaced. *tr

I purchased a 6-speed manual transmission jetta-tdi at the end of december of 2009. i have been driving manual transmission cars since 1975, and i was upset that my car was stalling either just starting out in first or in the lower rpm range of the lower gears when turning and moving through intersections or trying to go uphill when the rpms were in the lower range. keeping the rpms up a bit seems to have helped, as i am not having it stall as much as before. i also noticed what seemed like a slight hesitation or jerking when cruising . it would be just for a split second and then be gone my accident occurred when i was parallel parking on a hill. i went to back up a bit to straighten out my car and it stalled, rolling forward into the car parked in front of me. fortunately, no one was injured. damage was minor, but was submitted to my insurance company. at this point i was just blaming myself for not being able to adjust to the difference of clutching with a diesel engine because i couldn't figure out how to explain it. then a heard 2 radio reports about the complaints being filed. i called vw of america who listened to my story. they told me that in order to be compensated for my accident, that i would have needed to have had the car towed immediately to a dealership and had it diagnosed. she suggested that i take it to be diagnosed. i took it to the dealer who kept it for two days and could not find anything wrong. a week later, i was coming to a stop for a red light and the rpms began to fluctuate like it was going to stall and then it would come back to normal rpms. when i started to drive it was a little rough, then smoothed out. i called vw of america who recommended that i take it back to the dealer. i am waiting for them to return my call. i have also 3 intermittent problems with my am radio cutting out--are the problems connected?

While at the dealer for fuel pump failure the car was found to have another serious issue. there was a seal going in to the cowling that had leaked and caused a major amount of water to leak in to the cabin of the vehicle, right where the electrical components and fuse panel are. this caused major damage and the car to stall / not run due to the water damage. luckily this was found while the vehicle was not moving, otherwise the car would have stopped running due to volkswagen's error of not having a sealed access port to the interior of the vehicle. *tr

While driving on interstate, without warning or change of throttle, engine slowed noticeably. unable to maintain highway speed without high fuel consumption and dangerously slow acceleration. dashboard light indicated problem with glowplug (diesel engine) and check engine light stayed on. took to local dealer next day; tech replaced "pressure pipe" (faulty charge pressure sensor on high pressure filter pump) and "flashed" ecm. engine's acceleration still below what it was prior to event. *tr

While parking a jetta 2010, the car was almost stopped then rapidly accelerated. brake was on, but the car accelerated extremely fast, could not stop the vehicle. the vehicle slammed into a brick wall. the airbags did not deploy. *tr

Vw jetta tdi 2010. on four occasions the car has completely died while moving slowly. (5 to 20 mph) everything in the car stayed on. i had to turn the key off. place the car in park and restart the car. there was no indication of any problems before or after the car staled out. nothing in the car turned off or on, except the radio after i turned the key to the off position. also while driving door locks started to click open and closed at 65 mph. after 10 min of random clicking the doors locked and stayed locked. airbag light came on while driving. the light went back off after 20 min or so. has not come back on. transmission is generally smooth, however at random it is very abrupt, even during gradual or steady acceleration/deceleration. car has only one driver. has only ever had correct fuel. various other electrical problems began at 300 miles. all problems are random. vw continually dismisses me. it is going into shop again on monday. from the sounds of it they do not expect to do anything to fix the car. just drive it a few days and see if a problem happens. car has put me in the middle of intersection with no control. *tr

I bought the 2010 jetta sportwagen tdi manual recently, and i have noticed that the horn has a about 1 to 2 second delay. this is something unusual especially while driving at highway speeds and you want to warn some other drivers. this unusual situation leads to extra workload and stress. could become troublesome and hazardous. *tr
