The etc sign comes on and the car lost its power significantly. the obd scan does not show any code
The car disables the abs while driving, and the abs, brake and electronic stability control indicators are lit simultaneously, while the car dings. quite distracting. a little research shows complaints for the same behavior since just oct. 30, 2019: nhtsa id number: 11277060 nhtsa id number: 11288718 nhtsa id number: 11283008 nhtsa id number: 11279604 there is a recall which was considered closed for my vehicle for this issue: 16v913000 dealership has also quoted about $1500 to replace the abs module, because the current module cannot be updated. seems like there are lots of bad modules that cannot be updated. this is a hazard condition; especially here in michigan.
I have been told my car is not eligible for the abs module replacement claim but there is a problem with it as i drive the car. the brake light, traction control light and abs light are all on and flashing with a beep that is consistent once the key is in the ignition and it's a very distracting sound that i wish i could fix myself but even the part costs $600+ and to go to the dealer and get it fixed for $1800. i am a college student who doesn't have the funds to fix this issue and i have not been given a reason why my vehicle is not eligible for the fix.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v913000(service brakes, hydraulic, electronic stability control). when the contact initially received the notice, he contacted tom bush volkswagen (9850 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, fl 32225, 904-371-4350) who serviced the vehicle and replaced the defective components. two years later, the contact's wife noticed that the abs and brake warning indicators were illuminated upon starting the vehicle. the contact drove the vehicle back to the same dealer and was informed that he would have to pay out of pocket for any future repairs. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they were standing by the dealer's decision regarding the handling of the vehicle. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure mileage was 135,000. *tt *js consumer stated i was contacted by sarah at vw of america's customer care department and told that the update that was done and code that is shown does not hold them responsible for honoring the recall. i have tried to get info on how the code works with the abs module and was told there is no one to explain. *jb

Abs module recall for 2009 volkswagen models affected needs to be revised, for there are lots of cars that suffer from abs modules failing while they are driving. some cars which are illegible are left unfixed by volkswagen because they do not fit the specific details of the recall. the company shipped cars out with faulty abs modules and refuse to fix it and those cars are hazardous on the road. my vehicle, for example, has abs module working intermittently while it should be staying on. during a diagnosis the ecu senses no communication between it and the abs module, which is a hazard knowing my abs will not always function when i need it to stop quicker in response to the many obstacles on the road. the faulty abs sensor messed with my steering and gauges. the gauges do not present real time calculations and the steering assist has completely shut down due to abs being unresponsive.

Abs light on and brake blinking red light
Abs vw jetta recall. my 2009 vw is currently under a safety recall for abs system failures. the abs system on my car has in fact failed, yet the dealer is refusing to complete the recall because the system is in failure and they claim that the software cannot be updated to see if the system is failing. the dealer instructed me to replace the abs system in my car (at my own cost) so they can complete the software check. the estimate for the repair was $2900. i refused as the part in question is under recall. they claim the recall does not cover my failed abs system. i believe volkswagen is abdicating their safety responsibilities for a known problem and failed part in their cars. in a cursory review online there are hundreds of similar complaints to be found online. i hope that the ntsb is reviewing similar complaints and will compel vw to make the mechanical repairs to the abs systems necessary, not just check the software.

Abs, brake, seat belt and washer lights came on and still on at all times
Abs module recall i have an incomplete recall that volkswagen is not trying to fix. they are saying that they are not getting a connection to be able to read the recall and that i would have to buy the new abs module so that they could do an update on the new module. when it clearly states in the recall that abs modules with an insufficient ground connection would be replaced. volkswagen has done nothing but say they can't get the code to show for them to perform the recall. i understand why volkswagen has the most complaints because even if it's something they are required to fix they will try to weasel their way out of remedying the situation.
My abs light came on and then my red brake light came on, a few days later my epc light came on. about a week after that that my speedometer stopped working and i noticed that the mileage had stopped counting. i took it to napleton's volkswagen service department in orlando and (short version) received a quote to do the work of over $1700 to fix the abs before they could even tell me if there was a problem with the abs as they could not upload the software for the recall..the problem was directly related to the abs module..which in my paperwork is described in the recall information. i have told them not to fix my car as i believe this is incorrect (most of the work they quoted i believe is incorrect) and will be taking it to a mechanic i trust. it also opens the door for fraud as if i allowed them to do the work and then "fix" the recall that would seem like they would be charging me and volkswagen for the work. they also are charging me for diagnostic on the abs but per their own words they haven't been able to do the diagnostic. my car actually runs fine, however without the speedometer and having the brake lights on it feels very unsafe. the problem started 2 weeks ago july 23, 2018 and i brought it to service dealer yesterday

Takata recall. in february of 2017 my check engine light came on and was accompanied by a series of 3 beeps. as i continued to drive more lights came on and my dash board looked like a christmas tree ex. airbag, oil, check engine, abs, epc, brake light, etc. when driving on the high way my gauges will shut off and i can not see how fast i am going, my car will decelerate with my foot on the gas at random times on the high way. i look my car in for repair to cars auto in las vegas because my car could not pass smog. they did an analysis and informed me that my abs module was shot and there was an active recall for the device. i took it to my local vw dealership and thought with my safety in concern that this would be a simple fix. instead, they informed me that i would need to make an appointment and come back another day but i refused to drive my car off the lot. they took my car to the back and said that my abs module was not communicating with the computer and that i would need to pay $700 to have a diagnostic done before they would replace my abs. if the abs is faulty as explained in recall #16v913 under vw action 45f2 if the abs fails to pass the test then it will be replaced free of charge. they seem to not be complying and giving me the run around.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 volkswagen jetta. the contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v913000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electronic stability control). when the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, it was diagnosed that the vehicle's software failed and was unable to be updated. the dealer also stated that the module needed to be replaced; however, approval from the manufacturer was needed. the manufacturer determined that although the dealer diagnosed that the module needed to be replaced, it would not be replaced. the recall stated that "any module that fails the new diagnostic test will be replaced." the failure mileage was unknown. parts distribution disconnect.
When driving on a windey road the abs light came on and the car was breaking funny. i checked online to see if there was any recalls on my vehicle and found that the abs module software needed to be updated. the recall also stated that the abs module may need to be replaced due to this problem. i took it in and had the update installed, so now that i have it back, it is worse than ever. they said that i would need to replace the abs module for $1,6665 in order to get my car working right again. "wasn't it included" i asked. they said it was a separate problem and the error code was not in the perimeters. i'm not the only one with this problem do to volkswagen's screw up with the software. i've checked around and there are many others that are having the same problems. just the other day the epc light came on and the speedometer stopped working because apparently the abs module on this vehicle also tracks your speed. i'm not the only one and this is a blatant fault towards volkswagen and their shady practice.
Recall 45f2- while driving my car under normal conditions the abs light came on. coincidentally the next day i received a letter in the mail stating there was a recall on the abs for my vehicle. when i contacted vw they could not find the recall. i did a search and found it in 5mins. i contacted them again and told them i found it they proceeded to schedule an appointment. after they worked on my car and did the software update the abs light was still on. they told me my abs pump had a failure code of 01276/12 (abs pump electrical error in circuit remains) and that the recall did not cover it and quoted me to replace the whole assembly at $2600. my understanding is that the abs module controls the pump and if the pump fails it is because the module failed. i contacted vw corporate and they gave me the same answer, it is not covered under the recall. if i drive the car i am at risk of dying, my wife and children are at risk of dying. this is one of the most important parts of the car. i can not believe vw would try and push the fix back on the consumer!!!!

The abs module on my 2009 vw jetta. after taking it to the vw dealer in ontario california on 12-27-2016, service adviser robert tobar informed me that the abs module failed and told me that it needed to be replaced. i was quoted $2640.39. i asked him if there was a recall for this part and he said no. since so many people had the same problem, i figured it had to be a faulty part and decided to wait for the announcement of a recall. in march 2017, i found out that approximately 136k vehicles were recalled for the abs module. manufacturer recall number 45f2/nhtsa recall number 16v913 after searching my vin number, i found out that my car is eligible for the recall. i took my car to the dealer 3/10/17 9:30am. the service adviser is philip gibson. i called philip at 4:46pm and he informed me that the replacement abs part was put on order and that it would take approximately 5 days to fix. at 523pm, philip called me and said that because my abs module already faulted due to the recall, that i wasn't eligible for the recall and that i would have to pay for the fix to be eligible for the recalled. i told him that this did not make sense and he agreed and told me to call customer care at 9093765411. unfortunately, customer care was already closed. please help.
My 2009 jetta has been experiencing issues. the abs light, stability control light, brake light, and check engine light stay on. the car sputters from time to time. i took it to the dealer in my town for the volkswagen recall on the abs system. they supposedly fixed the abs software and module. then they tell me the abs pump is bad but not covered under warranty. it will be $3000 to replace! they replaced the mass air intake, a $442.00 repair and the car is still missing. check engine lights still on. now epc light is on. also, all of my abs lights, check engine, stability control, and brake lights are still on. how do i know the dealer actually did the abs repair? also, why is the abs pump not part of the recall? it's difficult to believe that the software caused the abs module to fail, but had nothing to do with the pump. this car seems to be a lemon. are there any plans to address the abs pump issue?

Unsatisfactory resolution to nhtsa recall no.: 16v-913 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2016/rclrpt-16v913-3524.pdf the proposed resolution to this recall is unsatisfactory. how can is it assured that if a module passes the load test the pcu ground connection will not fail at a future time? the failure reportedly occurs just when the abs/esp/steering system is needed most to maintain vehicle control. if this was a known manufacturing defect and the abs control module was replaced by an updated module with proper soldering then all vehicles produced with this manufacturing defect should receive an updated module.

Abs recall - i just received my recall for the jetta stating the above problem and remedy. but i don't the one paragraph in my letter above stating "please be aware that other conditions (unrelated to the issue described in this letter) may cause the abs system warning light in your vehicle to illuminate. customers should be prepared to cover diagnostics and repair costs associated with these other, unrelated conditions"....really! are you fkm! i'm supposed to trust them when they tell me...."were sorry sir, but your problem is not related to the recall and the repair will cost you $650.00, thank you" haha, volkswagen is just trying to recoup the money they lost to the tdi scam. never seen such a mischievous recall in my life! i have been having this problem for years now, rain or snow. if i turn the car off and back on it seams ok
While driving the vehicle all of a sudden starts to beep and the abs light, epc light, check engine light, brake light, and skid control light show. the vehicle sometimes loses the speedometer reading which drops to 0. this sporadically happens, sometimes it'll stay for days and other times it'll go away after 10 minutes and not appear again for a day or two. it seems to be happening more and more frequently. it happens when in motion and when starting the vehicle. this makes it very difficult to drive since the speedometer malfunctions and in the snow the vehicle seems to handle worse than usual and the brake system does not kick in every time. the abs module seems to be malfunctioning. *tr

Volkswagen abs stability issues... this issues started in the end of december 2016 when i started to drive it to take my son to work all of a sudden every light on the dashboard when i started it my car came on and did not go off i set for a while i reversed and the car steering wheel was hard to turn. after i tried to reverse the lights on the dashboard when off i started to drive halfway to my destination all of the lights came back on and then the car started to become very flimsy. i pulled over turn the car off i turn the car back on all the lights came back on and then they went off again by the time i got to my destination i turn the car off and sat and called the volkswagen dealership they instructed me to go back to where i just got my tires done because maybe it was just a sensor. at this time i could not find a towing company i started the car back the lights went away i tried to drive towards the mechanic i previously used the lights came back on i drove slow with my hazard lights on pulled over to the side call the mechanic they told me to try to make it down to their shop. at the ryman to the shop they checked over the car and said it was an electrical issue and the dashboard module. i called the mechanic at the volkswagen dealership in union city georgia they instructed me to try to bring it up to them after bringing it to them they said sad that i needed to get a electrical module repaired and something else and my total was going to be $3,200. i was not able to get it done on that day they asked me whether i could purchase another vehicle exchange that one or try to find a lower price and they will match it. i have not been able to do neither. i now find out that this problem was a recall no one is contact me i accidentally found out on my telephone watching the news.
