On both sides of the vehicle the rear sliding door latches rusted and broke off resulting in doors not opening and closing properly.

Power sliding door would not open or close, when parked. began to make clicking noises when trying to open or close door. the door would not open completely and it would not latch properly. cable became frayed and broke and was dangling from door. when we went to have it fixed, the quoted us $1200 to fix it, so we opted to cut it and use it manually. when used manually, the door is often unsafe because it slides rapidly and once closed on our daughter's hand.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 toyota sienna. while driving 25 mph and making a right turn, a clicking noise was detected coming from the driver's side door and the door ajar warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to roseville automall (700 automall dr, roseville, ca 95661, (916) 782-5999), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 24,000.

A few weeks ago i received a remedy notice safety recall # 16v-858. and went online to schedule an appointment for nov 27 2017. sara called from toyota and said she can only schedule at the earliest appointment is jan 16 2019. per safercar.gov site "if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the nhtsa vehicle safety hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with nhtsa. so iam filing an online complaint with nhtsa. toyota said they have to fix lots of cars so that is why the earliest appointments is 2019. why does it take over a year to fix a recall issue , an issue which can harm or kill my passengers(kids). toyota has all the parts but cannot fix it asap. they even said to check other dealers for earlier appointment. if they cannot fix it asap why does other dealers who also sell lots of toyota vehicles will be any faster. so my complaints is does it take one death or 100 or 1000 death for them to expedite the recall fix. "timely manner" per safercar.gov does that mean over a year to fix a recall. if a recall was send to you that can fix the issue and protect your family and they told you they cannot fix the issue for at least another 416 days, would you think that is a "timely manner" if your family's lives mean anything to you then you and any reasonable person would not think 416 days is a "timely manner" will this complaint be heard and resolved or will the big corporations pretty much run the government as usual. can you help at all?

1) power sliding door opened while driving; 2) strer wheel always stay on right. i took my van to delaer (mark jacobson) and they have not fixed the sliding door after i report the problem with sliding door. after i started searching on internet and found that there is recall also. i called them there is a recall but they did not do anything. recall date: november 22, 2016 dealer reference id: g04 nhtsa recall id: 16v858

I met an accident when a car (at speed around 65 mph) crossing the red light coming from my right hit my car at my right front and none of the srs bags did not deploy. we were 4 passengers at the time of the accident and we all had minor injuries. all the srs bags for other car has been deployed that hit my car. i am really concerned we all 4 would have been killed and it has been considered as the fatal accident by police report.

Autonation toyota arapahoe dealer (http://www.autonationtoyotaarapahoe.com) ordered the parts needed for the power sliding door recall but they refused to install the parts. the van has been converted to a rear entry wheelchair van - ats advantage rear entry long (86 inch channel) http://www.atsmobility.com/vehicle-conversions. please help me understand what needs to be done to have the parts installed for this recall on this rear entry conversion wheelchair van. i have attached a copy of the business card for the toyota assistant service manager, jason vukov.

Drivers side sliding door opened while car was in drive and moving. passenger had to manually close door. after pushing door closed, it will not open or close manually nor electronically and the cable is frayed and broken free from the front anchor and is hanging from the vehicle. this occurred turning into a parking lot.

The vehicle was stationary when the power door cable snapped and the door will now only open approximately several inches. this poses a safety hazard as children in the back could become trapped in the vehicle. when i contacted the dealer i was told this was an incredibly common problem with the sienna minivans but toyota was not doing anything to remedy the issue.

Toyota sienna owners received a safety recall notice in november 2016 from toyota warning of issues with the vehicle's doors, and how they can slide open uninitiated while driving, thus increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant. today is april 21, 2017, and there has been no update to this issue, and no fix to the problem. the overwhelming majority of sienna owners drive their children in the back seats where these sliding doors can open on their own while driving. when are they going to fix it? alternatively, they need to give us our money back on our vehicles so we can get one without this concern.

Takata recall 'received notice for nhtsa campaigns: 17v006 (air bags) & 16v858 (structure) for our family vehicle. we have 4 small kids that require car seats so it is not feasible for the front passenger seat to not be used. per notice, i called toyota and visited a local dealership in february 2017 to discuss the issue and request a rental or discount on a replacement vehicle. was informed rentals were limited to $35/day which would only provide a mid-size car (would not fit my family) and no replacement vehicle option was available. then in march 2017, the sliding door opened while driving. thankfully we had just left the house and no one was injured, but we are fearful for our lives and the safety of our children as we do not know when this may happen again. with the amount of time the airbag recall has existed and being told by the dealership not to expect a fix until 2018 at the earliest, the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs and is unwilling to provide any form of alternate transportation that will provide for the safety of my family.

The passenger side power sliding door failed in mid-operation leaving the door slightly opened. we were unable to manually or electronically open or close the door in the normal manner, however in order to make the trip home we forcibly positioned the door into the closed position. the dealer claimed that the door motor was damaged by our actions and proceeded to charge us nearly $2000 to repair the motor and door cable. we explained that we could hear the motor engaging just fine and that there must be another root cause, they disagreed and dismissed us completely. we called and complained to toyota directly, however they've taken the same position as the dealer. *tr

Takata recall - we have children riding in our vehicle and need the recalls to be fixed promptly. we had not heard anything from toyota as to when the recalls will be fixed. with the airbag issue, no one can sit in the front passenger seat, which makes it very inconvenient for our big family. sliding door recall - the sliding door issue also is a major danger because our kids sit in the back. we are fearful the door could open unexpectedly. the delay in fixing these recalls is causing a lot of anxiety, stress, and danger. we tried to call toyota but were transferred to different departments for over 20 minutes before getting cut off completely. we want answers and we want them now.toyota needs to fix the problem immediately. we are fearful for our lives in our sienna.

On august 27, 2016 i was driving our 2012 toyota sienna on an interstate highway. traffic was terrible and i rear-ended another vehicle in stop-and-go traffic. the impact was minor, but the engine caught fire and burnt the car to the frame. my wife and i were able to exit the car before it burned. when i exited the car, i took my keys with me. however, i was not able to open any of the doors and everything i had in the back of the van burned. thankfully, our children were not in the car. if they had been, i would have needed to break windows to attempt to remove them from the car.

The recall was issued just over a year ago and it has not been corrected by the manufacturer. this is unacceptable! why hasn't the manufacturer been forced to come up with a permanent solution to the problem and not a work around as they suggested in the recall notice? fine them heavily for not having a timely fix available.

The sensor in the power sliding door of my 2012 toyota sienna, would not stop beeping even though the door was closed. the latch was rusting away, and toyota wanted $1,400 to replace it. the driver's door latch is made of stainless steel, so why is the sliding door latch rusting? and why can't we disable the sensor?
