Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2011 Toyota Sienna

My driver side sliding door will not open by either pressing the buttons or trying to manually open it.

Cable on the passenger side sliding door broke. door cannot be used automatically. had dealer disconnect the cable for $50 instead of paying approximately $400 for new cable.

The unit marks door open sometimes when driving and sometimes when the brakes are pressed down. the unit was taken to authorized dealer because there was a recall. the recall stated that this issue was caused by the sliding door's lock. they verified the unit and said the sliding door's lock were ok, but the issue apparently was on the rear door. the lock on the rear door was defective and there were no recalls for that lock. the repair should be paid on our own.

Minivan parked but roll away caused injury. the minivan was parked to pick up grocery bags but started rolling away after the last 2bags of grocey

The interior overhead passeger side door button is faulty and works intermittently

When i renewed my new york state registration i received a notice that i still didn't have the sliding door problem taken care of. waiting for several months for an appointment at fox in auburn ny to get this repaired. is there another dealer that i can take the vehicle to in the area?

While parked in my driveway, having been driven two hours before, my van caught on fire in the engine compartment. it burned for an unknown amount of time before we were alerted. the electrical system was disabled by the fire causing the two back sliding doors to become inoperable. the van can seat 6 people in the rear passenger compartment and they would be unable to exit the van except by going through the front doors. even now that it is after the fire, we are still unable to open them, from inside, outside, or with any of the buttons.

While opening the driver-side sliding door the driver-side sliding door cable snapped rendering this door inoperable. appears that the cable has rusted and weakened then broke.

power sliding passenger door cable rusted apart, therefore making the door completely unfunctioning. it cannot be used manually either.

Takata recall we took the car to the toyota dealer in katy in mid february 2018 to solve the air bag recall and power doors. they said the do not have the parts; we have go back twice but they say they still do not have them. now almost 3 months later they have not done anything about it. we had not have any accident but we do not feel safe when driving the car.

Takata recall sliding doors will open but no way to close door --dangerous to drtive with door that will not close--opened door on trip while stopped no way to close no help from toyota--on highway

Rear driver side door does not close properly and will occasionally open while driving causing warning lights, ringing bells, and warning statements on display board. when door is checked it appears closed. cable that runs door seems to be frayed despite it being used less frequently than the passenger side rear door.

Nhtsa recall id: 11v560 i understand this is a recall for some sort of sticker on my vehicle. my toyota dealership said they were unable to get the sticker and i had to call toyota directly. i just got off of a 25 minute phone conversation with toyota and the result was they didn't know why the dealership couldn't handle it and they would have to contact the dealership. i asked that the sticker just be sent to me if it was just a sticker and i was unable to wait on hold any longer. toyota said they could not continue to help me unless i stayed on hold while they talked to the dealership. i understand it is "just a sticker" as both toyota and the dealership has informed me. however, i want the recall cleared from my vehicle. i am seeking assistance in getting the sticker sent to me as required. seems like it is a simple transaction, but toyota is not making it so. my address and information is correct with toyota under my vin. thank you.

Apparently, there has been two recalls involving the toyota sienna 2011. however, the system show that the recall is still incomplete, or, otherwise, not available to offer a remedy or repairs. what are my next steps? should i take my car to the dealer for inspection and repairs? should i sell my vehicle? can i be reimbursed by toyota for having my car repaired elsewhere?

Recall on a sliding door not working/closing on a 2011 sienna, had to pay to have door repaired to close. the door working is part of a company recall with the sliding doors not working on 2011 siennas. sliding door would not shut on the van. my daughter had to hold the door so that my family could get home. it was a major safety issue with the door, someone could have been hurt. we sent the invoice with the repair for the recall, we have waited for almost 9 weeks, and many calls to the company, and for the most part myself and my wife had to do the leg work to get this going by the company. this has been a frustrating experience, for one the safety issue for my family, considering the recall was over 1 year on this van is pretty ridiculous. and getting information about my case has been frustrating. it seems like toyota did not want to take any responsibility for the issues with the reimbursement, issues with communications with this, it has been a frustrating situation. especially we have to keep this van, and the company is not taking responiablity to resolve the refund of the van door not opening. this is not right by this company doing this.

Fuel door hinge broke because the fuel door pin has so much tension that it broke the hinge. this caused a safety issue because the door cannot be opened from the inside if it is not closed all they way or pushed closed enough for the sensor to allow the sliding door to open. this event was reported past the 36 month warranty, but had begun before the warranty had ended. current owners should be aware that if there are instances beginning of the door not being able to be opened, this should be an item covered under an extended warranty due to the safety issue of not being able to exit the vehicle in an emergency situation. this happened several times while parked and exiting the vehicle. there are other instances of this issue on different sienna and toyota forums. toyota service manager confirms that it is excessive, but only resolution would be to replace cable with no guarantee it wouldn't have excessive force also. only other resolution would be to have service bulletin issued by toyota.

When car was purchased new we where told that a safety feature on this vehicle was that the rear sliding doors would not close while there was something in its path stopping it from closing completely. ex. child or body part. this morning while trying to reach behind him and attach his seatbelt my 6yo son hand got into the path of the door and his hand became stuck in its path instead of the door opening back to the open position it set there and continued to cycle to the close position.

The sliding doors make popping noises and get stuck trying to open or close. you have to forcefully try and move the door the way it was attempting to move. the dealership is no help. it is still under warrantee. this has happen multiple times since we owned the van.

My car is revving uncontrollably and lurching forward when braking. the engine does not decrease its revolutions in lone with braking. its either a transmission dropping to a lower gear and lurching forward ir the accelerator pedal us sticking. it happens all of the time and is unsafe coming to stops near croas traffic.

I put the vehicle in park, yet although the shift is in park, the indicator says its in reverse, then the van starts rolling backwards. shut off the engine and its like the van is in neutral, the van starts rolling down hill.extremely dangerous i almost ran over a child behind me! i spent thousands of dollars to replace shifter cable, i later saw recall on 2014 model but 2011 model has identical problem.

There is a recall on the spare tire carrier cable. i have also received a recall notice for the sliding door. i contacted my local toyota dealer( toyota of iowa city) located in iowa city, ia. i contacted them 6-8 months ago when i received the first notice. they said they would order parts and be in contact with me. i recently received a second notice concerning the spare tire carrier cable. i'm frustrated with their lack of response as this is not the first time i have had an issue with this dealership. the power drivers seat does not function properly and they were going to order parts for it. when i called about the spare tire i asked about the seat and she had no idea what i was talking about.

Takata recall nhtsa reference id 16v340 the sienna vin (xxx) is actually in switzerland. i've been told by the workshop standard procedure is that toyota usa has to direct toyota switzerland to do this repair. many siennas in the country have been updated this way. til today , i have not received any notification to proceed and bring my sienna to the swiss dealership for this purpose. in addition, the two other recalls; >safety recall g04 - remedy notice certain 2011 - 2016 model year sienna vehicles power sliding door_nhtsa reference id16v858 and, >safety (non-compliance) recall b0n - customer notification phase 2011 and certain early 2012 my sienna vehicles - tire and loading info placard and owner's manual update sent to owners. assist customer if requested.nhtsa reference id 11v560, are pending. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The sliding door intermittently closes about 2/3 of the way, beeps, and then opens again. it probably happens 3/4 of the time. it currently has no issue opening.

Bon 10 safety( non-compliance) also g1p3542 safety recall gop g1p nterim ) all recalls have not been complete at the toyota dealer ship, not able to complete.

Bon10 safety (non- compliance) g1p3542 safety recall gop g1pntrim ) all recall have not been completed at the toyota dearler ship. not able to complete.

My van came equipped with bridgestone p235/55rf18 tires. i had to replace them at 26,000 miles. the edges were almost worn through. i never had a radial tire go bad with that low mileage. bridgestone and firestone offered no help. on line lots of people are unhappy. bridgestone said they were made to factory specs. the local firestone dealer told we they were not good ties. i replaced them with same tire. no spare without a run flat is a safety is i could not find another run flat to fit. the van does not have a spare.

I was driving down on the high way at 70 mph and suddenly heard a cracking sound. after that i heard a wind noise you typically hear when your windows are not completely closed. in a seconds, i heard another breaking sound and see some debris on my rear-view mirror. then i opened my sun room cover and figured that out my sunroof glass was completely shattered. if i had not had closed my cover, it could have hurt my families inside the van. also the falling debris can cause serious risk to others driving in the highway. i need toyota's answers on this matter.

Takata airbags electric side doors multiple other recall

For years, my toyota sienna has had a beeping noise when i went over a bump, or when it was hot out and i had the windows down or when i put on my brakes. it goes off again when i begin to drive. it said it was the rear lift gate was ajar. when i google it, there are so many people with the same issue. something is wrong with the sensor, it's a bad message that comes through. toyota should offer to repair it. it is so annoying. i've had many mechanics look at it, and toyota wanted to charge me $1500 for a new lift gate sensor. what a ripoff. on the internet most just disconnect the wire. this is a toyota problem that should be recalled. it is constant now.

I'm contacting you to complain about the interim recall repair performed by toyota, recall 14v-273. i had the interim repair performed in the summer of 2014 which involved putting the spare tire into the cargo area in the back of the van and securing it with a tie down. i have been unable to fold my seats back into the cargo area when i needed to and have a large portion of the cargo area occupied by the spare tire and tie down. for a short time i could live with this. but the recall was announced almost one year ago. i contacted toyota today and the representative stated a final repair should be available in mid 2015. i would like the final fix performed as soon as possible. it is unreasonable to have this lengthy delay between performing the interim repair and the final repair. can you please investigate this matter and urge toyota to promptly issue the final repair?

Toyota had a recall on it's spare tire cable and removed my spare tire to the rear inside of my auto. i was told a fix would be made to replace the tire cable and the spare tire would be placed back under the car. it has been almost a year and no fix has been made. i called my dealer several times and they tell me no fix is available. when are they going to get this fix done? i need the space the spare tire is taking. i purchased my car in wis. and live there 6 months out of the year.

When driving on the highway we heard a loud noise. we pulled over to find our sun/moon roof had blown out. we immediately contacted our insurance company and taped over the hole to avoid any glass blowing out onto other drivers and inside the vehicle. when we took it to toyota dealership they said they checked for other complaints but said they had none. this was the summer of 2014. even though the dealership claimed there were no issues, we reported the problem to toyota directly and after a couple of messages and copies of pictures they decided it was not a defect so we were not going to be reimbursed. the expense was a little of $1000 which we were out of pocket on as we had a $1000 deductible. in light of more recent news about this being a problem in many vehicles including toyota vehicles we wanted to report it as a safety issue. had we not had the cover closed on the inside, glass would have come in on us. we were just thankful that no one on the highway was hurt with the window blew out. we believe this item should be reviewed for possible recall and reimbursement to owners of vehicles that have sun/moon roofs made by the manufacturer. i am no longer sure i have pictures as they would have been taken on an old phone

(toyota, sienna 2011) passenger automatic sliding door anti-jam sensor failed. object (macbook) was placed in door pocket compartment. door switch was pressed and door began opening. macbook did not completely clear the doors path completely and door began crushing it. i could hear something wasn't right and saw the door bend the laptop and park in the fully open position. you could clearly see and hear the door had met an obstacle and was struggling, but just pressed through it. door made no attempt to stop or reverse. the macbook was damaged. the whole machine was bent by the door and i can no longer fit a cd in the optical slot because it is now curved rather than flat. these doors are strong enough be bend metal! the "anti-jam" system failed. after seeing that, i really think that these doors have to capability to seriously inure someone.

In may of 2011 i purchased a toyota sienna 8 passenger that has been reclassified in nov 2011 from 1550 lb cargo and passenger capacity.to 1325 that renders it non compatible, for which i had bought the vehicle for. therefore it has caused and renders this what was 8 passenger and value to decrease. this is clearly a miss representation of sale, and customers should be compensated or a fix to restore this classification should be issued.i have contacted both toyota and dealer to my regret no solution for this problem is available but if one were to put 8 passenger and cargo, skip the cargo or luggage 8 x's adults @190= 1520 who would be held accountable???? *js

Vehicle was in park on a flat street. i wanted to move the vehicle forward, so i depressed the brake, and began shifting the (automatic) shifter to drive. the gear shift lever never made it to the drive position. as i moved the lever, the car shot backwards, striking a vehicle behind me with tremendous force. i have had the same model car for over 7 years and never had this happen. i cannot figure out how or why the car accelerated (forcefully) in reverse as i was shifting into drive. *tt

2011 sienna le rear view mirror vibrates while car engine is turned on and when car is in driving vibrate to the point that makes a person dizzy. spoke to toyota service regarding this safty concern, but we were told that the vibration on the mirror comes with a car design, not a malfunctional part, refuse to replace or attemp to solve the problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) *tt

Motor on sliding doors have not worked properly since we first purchased it brand new. we were told they "stick" because the rubber seals are so new. the doors only open part of the time. 50% of the time when you open them, they beep loudly and get stuck, just like day one. toyota continues to claim there is nothing wrong with it and anytime we've mentioned it, they say they found no problems. it's a safety hazard because they get jammed and can only be yanked open manually. a child could not open it in the event of an emergency where they need to make a quick escape. the seal on the window is also broken and pulls down when you open the window . the seal pulls down with it. this happened to our brand-new toyota camry, as well as my mother's brand new toyota fj cruiser. toyota has checked it out and they claimed it's wear and tear. they replaced it for free the first time, but less than a year later it happened again! now i see a recall on doors, this needs to b addressed, that recall is not being handled yet either . again, it's a safety hazard for children getting out, or doors flying open when vehicle is in motion.

Takata recall. been calling dealer every few months, waiting for the recall to get remedied for the airbags. also, waiting for the dealer to remedy the sliding door recall. many calls to the service department have been unresolved, even with the promise to be called back.
