Toyota sienna 2006 awd run flat tires. 24,000 miles on tires and have abnormal wear and had to replace them. toyota should recall these tires. *tr

Ever since i bought this sienna 2006, i have noticed both of my back dunlop tires are leaking air frequently starting on feb 2008. the mileage as of today is only 5400. the right side of the back tire popped and i have to replaced with the michelin. as for the left side, every week, it dropped to 20psi. i have to pump it back up to 35-40psi every week. took it to the dealer, no holes or any problem found on the dunlop. they refused to replace the tire. i ask them why it didn't happen to the front tire then, why only the back tires? i told them it must be the manufacturer problem and they have to replace. no comments from them and they said i have to purchase a new one to replace it. stupid idiot solution from them. *tr

i have a 2006 toyota sienna xle awd minivan which was seen 10/17/07 for tire replacement (dunlop 4000 dsst run flats). i have owned this care for 1 year and 2 weeks and have only 14,900 miles on it. recommended service has been done at the dealership twice since i've owned the car, including tire rotation...once in february and once at the end of july. the car was driven only under normal road conditions and air pressures checked every 2 weeks. i am two weeks past 1 yr. warranty and even though preexisting wear was "missed" by service dealer in late july, i am being charged for replacement. toyota aware or previous problems with these tires, including class action law suit, yet continued to put them on cars. my tread wear was determined to be uneven with 0 depth on the inside tread of left front, posing a safety hazard and creating an unsafe driving condition. report also indicates wear on edges and cupping evident on all other tires (according to the dealer, my vin number did not match up with the "service bulletin" and i was charged for the installation of these tires and a wheel alignment) an attempt to contact toyota customer care while the car was in the shop was unresolved as customer care never returned my call. run flats were supposed to be a safety feature on my awd, instead they have become a safety hazard. one does not carry a spare, and in fact there is no room for one in this sienna. you would not expect to need 4 new tires at <15,000 miles! *tr

2006 toyota sienna. consumer writes regarding problems with run- flat dunlop tires *tgw the consumer stated while driving on the interstate, she experienced a tire blow out on the right front passenger side. the vehicle had to be towed, because it did not come equipped with a spare tire. the next day, the consumer was informed the blown out tire as well as the front driver's side tire would have to be replaced. prior to the blow out on may 12, 2010, the consumer experienced a blow out on april 6, 2007 and again on august 30, 2007. *jb

All four tires on 2006 toyota sienna were rendered inoperable due to excessive wear on inside. vehicle only had approximately 15000 miles auto shop , hogan & sons, 540-338-7005, noted similar incident with 2007 toyota sienna with only 7000 mileage. *ak

Removed the run flat tires and replaced them with regular tires. i am constantly having the "tire balance" light go off in my car and getting flat tires. ever since i switched the tires the alignment has always been issue. *tr

2006 toyota sienna w/run flat tires showed significant premature tire wear. all service maintained with toyota dealership and up to date. determined that at 19.400 miles the wear showed tire belt creating a safety hazard unknown to the driver/owner until normal service visit. the vin was outside the effected vin list associated with supplemental tire warranty coverage sponsored by toyota related to identical problems with previous awd siennas. toyota refused assistance in replacing tires. dunlop provided prorate of 48% for replacement. tires were viewed as unsafe based on premature wear that would not be noticeable to owner/driver without understanding the problems with run flats. toyota refused any support since vin was 5000 outside the effectivity of the supplemental warranty. failure of tire due to premature wear could result in loss of control of the vehicle, and ultimtaely loss of life. research via internet revealed other premature wear problems that were also outside the vin effectivity list assosciated with the suppllemental warranty. only time when a tire failure will result in an accident and potentially loss of life.*ak

The dunlop run flat tires on the 2006 sienna mini-van are horrible. at 10,000 miles they were wearing very fast. they are loud on the road, and ride very rough with vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel and the gas pedal. the toyota dealership said the vin didn't qualify for replacement tires.*ak

Dunlop st4000 tires are worn out at 20,500 highway miles. serious problem. this is a really big issue, as i have seen all the complaints on many internet sites. i am very disappointed with these tires. the car is less than a year old and i have to spend $1000 plus on new tires?????? i went to my toyota dealer and they told me that there is nothing they can do and that i will have to pay for 4 new tires. i can't buy regular tires because there is no room for a spare tire anywhere. this is insane. i will have to think twice before buying another toyota. i have been a toyota fan since i could remember; this has really changed my perspective of this company. *nm
