We have classified the 130 complaints from 2002 Toyota Sequoia about VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL into the following categories.
After driving roughly 40 minutes on a straight dry highway at a constant 70 mph, my vsc off and trac off lights suddenly came on for no reason, accompanied by a loud high-pitched alarm. the steering felt like it was dragging, was grinding, and pulled to the right. felt like something was breaking apart. very scary since i was in the left lane with no shoulder. i decreased my speed to about 60 and moved to the right hand lane. after several seconds, the alarm and grinding/dragging stopped just as mysteriously as it started before i'd even gotten to an exit. the lights stayed lit. before i used the vehicle again, i inflated the tires from 32.5 to 35 psia, just in case that might have contributed. the next day, i drove on the highway for 40 minutes with no problem, but on the way back home, the same thing recurred after about 20 minutes, again at highway speeds on a straight section of dry road. this time the dragging and grinding was worse and the alarm lasted much longer. again, it mysteriously stopped as i was preparing to exit the highway. searching similar anecdotes seems to imply a known failure of the yaw sensor. that sensor has triggered the lights to come on from time to time ever since 2002, but it never caused the loud alarm or struggle to steer the vehicle before. this should definitely be a recall item. i think i'm going to have to disable the variable speed control and traction control features of the vehicle by removing the fuse just so i can keep driving it.
The vsc trac, vsc off, brake light and abs light are all on on the dash. this is known problem with 1st generation toyota sequoia's. toyota issued a recall on the 03 models for this issue and provided a fix at their expense. the same issue occurs in other model years but there is no open recall for it. dealership wants approximately $2,000 to replace the skid control ecu.
My father and i were leaving frys electronics on friday may 19, 2017. as we turned from the fry's parking lot to head on the 60 fwy all of a sudden the vsc started beeping and just as we we picking up speed(50mph) the truck started to swerve while at the same time a grinding sound went off my father pushed the vsc off switch but did not have any effect on what was happening. when the beeping had stopped both vsc off and vsc lights had stayed on and the vehicle seemed to be running ok and ever since that day whenever we use the sequoia the lights come on and stay on during the trip on occasions it doesn't turn on after about 5 mins the beeping goes on and vehicle engine immediately slows and grinding sound goes on and causes vehicle to swerve and my father is a bit elderly so as a son i am putting in this complaint in hopes of some assistance in repairs this malfunction. my parents are retired and do not have an good income, is there any possible way toyota can fix this malfunction which seems to be quite a problem amoungst sequoia owners thank you for your time and patience i will await a response thank you. i would also like to apologize to the reader for the lack of my letter skills and hope i was able to express the problem for you to understand
2002 sequoia sr5 milage 150322. been reading complaints on traction control that trac off and vac trac lights turn on and inside cab starts beeping and grinding noise comes from driver side wheel and looses rpm's.thats what happening to my truck also. used code scanner at its saying its the yaw sensor why haven't this issue been recalled.needs to be recalled. it's dangerous!!! was driving 35 mph and the street light turned red. i pressed the break and truck syarted to beep, shake, and grind, started pumping breaks truck wouldn't stop and when it did was to late had already passed the red light. i've could of caused an accident and sevierly been injured or could of injured somebody else. lucky my family wasn't in the truck at the time it happened.
We have had the vsc/trac flashing warning lights come on, with a grinding noise and beeping alarms as we drive the vehicle on the road and/or on the freeway. the steering wheel vibrates and the vehicle slows down. incident lasts approximately 10-20 seconds. once it stops the vsc/trac light comes on until you stop driving. this occurs randomly when we are driving the vehicle on the road or on the freeway. we never know when it will happen when driving the vehicle. we are no longer driving the vehicle on long distance road trips or on the highway because we are afraid that we will get into an accident. we feel it is a health and safety issue that toyota must address immediately. *tr
Complaint - electronic stability control, steering, vehicle speed control while driving my 2002 toyota sequoia while turning on city street & highway i encountered two significant safety issues the traction control system comes on while driving at various speeds, the vsc and traction warning lights abs & engine lights are illuminated as the vehicle pulled to the left/right. when the issue occurred, the vehicle makes a grinding sound and pulls very hard to the left/right. the vehicle loses acceleration and feels like the anti-lock braking mechanism is being engaged. the jerking pull resulted in crossing multiple lanes of the highway before control of the vehicle was regained. this is going to cause deaths known issues with other sequoias. *tr
When i entered the freeway, my vsc trak and vsc off lights came on, and the vehicle pulled to the right suddenly. i exited the freeway, and inspected my vehicle, to find nothing visible. i re-entered the freeway, traveled approx 100 miles, with no issue. then, the same evening, i exited the toll road near my home, when the vsc trak and vsc off lights flashed and beeped, and brakes locked up on and off violently, as if the vehicle was possessed. i managed to get it home, as i was only about a mile from there, where i parked it, and had it towed to a shop. the mechanic was able to pull a code...the yaw sensor. but, the mechanic said that he could not guarantee that this would fix the problem. this happens while driving straight, after turning left or right, at any speed, and with no warning or visible reason for doing so. this poses a huge safety issue, especially while driving on the freeways at higher speeds. this issue could cause a deadly disaster at high speeds, and with many other vehicles on the road. this is definitely not an issue to ignore or take lightly.
While driving my 2002 toyota sequoia, i encountered two significant safety issues that were recalled as part of a prior nhsta campaign (10v-176). while my toyota is manufactured within the same window of a recall, my vin was not included. nhsta has opened an active investigation (pe16006) in response to other owners with the same issues. issue #1: traction control system on several occasions, the vehicle would not accelerate properly from a stopped position. the code based on the vcs warning light indicated an issue with the center position of the steering angle sensor (sas). the sensor was replaced and the ecu programming was updated to resolve the safety issue. issue #2: electronic stability control on multiple occasions, the vehicle lost control while driving due to an issue with a faulty yaw rate sensor. while driving at various speeds, the vsc and traction warning lights illuminated as the vehicle pulled to the right. when the issue occurred, the vehicle makes a grinding sound and pulls very hard to the right. the vehicle loses acceleration and feels like the anti-lock braking mechanism is being engaged. the jerking pull resulted in crossing multiple lanes of the highway before control of the vehicle was regained. the mechanic experienced the same issue, and had to pull over to regain composure after almost getting into an accident. the faulty yaw sensor was replaced to repair the defect. after experiencing the issues with the toyota sensors that almost caused an accident, i had the faulty sensors replaced. i have requested reimbursement from toyota but was denied. the repair was for the safety issues which are under recall for the same model year (april 2002 ' april 2003), as my vehicle is manufactured in may 2002. the repairs included the defective steering sensor and the yaw stability sensor required to safely drive the vehicle.
The vsc trac & vsc off light blinks on and off causing car to cut on and off.when tis happen the car was in motion. i just purcased car the dealer said to replace the accelerator pedal position sensor of course it is not covered under warranty and because it happened right after 30 days of purchase it falls on me.
The vsc/abs indicator lights appear intermittently without any warning. the car beeps, makes a heavy grinding noise and the abs brakes are automatically engaged without any action by the driver regardless of the speed, or whether driving on a highway or city street. the car will fishtail. based on my research, i have found that this is a common problem among these vehicles and that there was a 2003 recall for this problem. this defect in the same model for the 2002 vehicles seems to be widespread. must we first have an accident to win rights to be accommodated. does toyota not want to make good on its product and satisfy all owners/customers. i worry every time i drive my vehicle and thank god each time i reach my destination without incident. this is the only vehicle we have to drive our severely disabled 10 year old daughter and cannot afford a new vehicle. we are really scared! see other identical consumer complaints at http://www.carcomplaints.com/toyota/sequoia/2002/brakes/electronic_stability_control-4.shtml
I have a problem with my trac and vsc light coming on while driving. the stability light would blink and beep and both the trac off and vsc light would come on. the brakes would also seem like it's grinding when the stability light is blinking and beeping. i have the exact same problem as this guy on this video https://youtu.be/vgearn4nito
The brakes of the car ,and we i drive i can't drive more than 80 miles pr hour because it checks.i fixed the brakes and the light stay on for ever now every time i have to remember to take the foot brake.
Identical problem as described by many others. vsc-trac and trac-off lights randomly illuminated on dry, level pavement when brakes were applied, causing a loud grinding noise (much louder than normal application of anti-lock brakes), and car pulled and would not stop no matter how hard the brake pedal was pressed. first couple times, brakes were applied to slow the vehicle in traffic, so the failure to fully stop wasn't noticed. this now happens consistently whenever i drive and does not matter how fast or slow i am going. these failures clearly put vehicles at risk of accidents, and it is difficult to understand why the 2003 sequoias were recalled for vsc issues, but not the 2002, when the parts being replaced fit both years. i have only had the vehicle for 2 years with 140,000 miles.
The first time my abs/vcs trac lights came on was after i had to brake hard on a downward hill. i accelerated to climb the other side of the hill and it was after doing that which the vcs trac and trac off lights first came on at around 168,000 miles. there was a fast beeping sound lasting for maybe 10 sec then it regained power. now it will do it within just a few miles of our home. we have had several more occasions since this initial incident where there was a jerking/pulling of the right front tire. also the air conditioning would come on and off like it was trying to surge. also idles very low, below 500 rpm and then finally shuts off. this vehicle has become very dangerous to drive. we are not sure what to get fixed on it since we have read that other owners are being told that its anything from a yaw sensor, steering angle sensor, brake booster system, or a skid control computer issue. all of these are very pricey to get fixed and there are no guarantees that they will even correct the problem. most have had the yaw sensor replaced and it did not correct the problem. some of the mechanics we have talked to said that there could be brake dust or mud and road grime build up over the sensor making it malfunction and that it should be hosed off at an underbody carwash. we haven't tried this yet since we didn't put much faith in it until we discovered hearing again on youtube. the 2003 toyota sequoia vcs recall should be extended down to the 2002 models as well. we all are having the same issue that they did.
This has occurred several times: grinding noise, car pulls to the right and vsc and trac lights come on indicating vsc and trac are disengaged. can drive ok after this occurs. however, when car is turned off and started again the warning lights go out and it's impossible to predict when it will occur again. there was a recall issued in 2010 for the 2003 model sequoia with this same issue, however this recall for some reason did not cover the 2002 which is having the same problem! please have toyota expand the recall to include other years as this is a common problem in sequoias!!! *tr..updated 10/26/16 *bf updated 10/16/217*cn
After driving 45 miles then driving in a busy town then back 45 miles to home town i was going 55 mph and all the sudden i lost power, a dinging noise happened and i lost breakage, the vcs off and vcs track light came on, the vehicle start driving rough. i then went home. then after a few hour i had to go get my son i started the vehicle and noticed the lights were off, after only going 3 miles and with my son in the vehicle it made the ding noise lost power lights vcs off vcs trak lights came back on, very scary, hope they recall it soon, my sequoia was made august 2002. *tr
The vsc randomly activated twice within 10-15 minutes while traveling on a dry, clean interstate freeway at about 70 mph, causing the vehicle to swerve considerably. there were no external circumstances that appeared to cause this incident. weather conditions: clear skies, sunshine, 80 degrees, dry, level roads. after the second incident, we were able to get the vehicle to a nearby dealership. we since learned the 2003 sequoia apparently had a recall regarding this same situation. *tr
As i was driving my vehicle it made a grinding sound along with a brief slowdown and then the vsc track light came on. when you turn the vehicle off the lights go off and stay off until another episode. this has happened on three different occasions. *tr
Vehicle makes a sputtering noise at acceleration and coasting speed. even at stop. sounds like a misfire and thud at some points. causes a loss in power and jerk. *js
While driving at a speed of 35, my truck suddenly pulled to the right, started to shake and a beeping alarm came on, the picture of the vechicle skidding also lit up and the trac off and vsc trac also lit up and stayed on. upon pulling over and cutting the truck off and restarting the vechicle, the lights where no longer lit. this has happened several more times. i have taken it to a mechanic and they have placed a machine on it to see if it registars anything, and nothing shows up. this really scared me and daughters track team mates, because we where not expecting this. this is the only vechicle i have at this time to drive, do to my husband being deployed. toyota says that they have no recalls, but there are several complaints on the internet of this problem. *tr
Last month, while traveling home from summer vacation on flat ground, at approximately 60 mph, the vsc, trac lights came on in the dash. there was a terrible grinding noise from under the car and beeping inside the car. the car pulled hard to the right and decelerated abruptly in the middle of a busy highway. thank goodness i was able to pull into the turn lane and limp into a gas station. this occurred three more times over the next 500 miles until i got home. i took it to the dealer, they replaced the yaw sensor. only 3 days after that, it happened again. took it to the dealer, they replaced two brake sensors and a master cylinder. today, five days after that, it happened again. this time, thankfully at only 25 mph with no traffic. this is a very scary, dangerous problem that toyota should not be ignoring. it has been recalled in the 2003 model, and should be in the 2002 model as well! *tr
Driving on paved public road, dry road conditions in summertime at low speed,10-20 mph, the vsc and trac off warning lights on instrument panel light up with and audible bell type alarm at the same time the right front wheel makes a loud thump causing the vehicle to pull hard to the right and with very hard front end vibration. at which time there is no brake control, steering control or acceleration control for approximately 20 seconds that has caused a few near miss vehicle collisions with other vehicles or off the road towards an embankment. the sequoia was taken to a toyota dealership service center where the technician stated they can only clear the fault code in the vehicle's computer. since the fault code has been cleared, 5 more episodes of the same identical senerios with both wet and dry road conditions but not standing water on the roadway, and also a couple of times during speeds between 60-70 mph. this is an intermittent anomaly, but happens 3-4 days in a row between instances.
I drive a 2002 sequoia and have had about 8 instances where the trac off, trc vsc, and slip indicator lights all come on while the truck feels like it locks up and a beeping alarm sounds and a pulling to the right with a grinding noise . this morning the slip indicator lights stayed on with the grinding noise seems like a few seconds longer than yesterday . i was about to pull off of the road when the other two lights came on and the car drove normal when the lights are on . when you turn the engine off and restart the lights go off. however the error occurs on a daily basis now . the roads i travel are mainly highway and have been dry . i have noticed that there are many complaints for the same issue and that toyota did issue a recall for the 2003 model year .. this is a very dangerous issue and needs correction . one would think that the recall should extend to all years . *tr
the skid control lights come on for no reason the whole car shakes and there is a thumping and grinding noise from the vehicle along with the beeping warning sound. it happens at different speeds sometimes when breaking or turning and losing power. this last a few seconds then the vsc light comes on and the vsc off light and all is ok while lights are on. *tr
I have a 2002 toyota sequoia & have had about 10 instances since the beginning of august 2014 where the trac off, trac vsc, and slip indicator lights all come on while the truck feels like it locks up and a beeping noise occurs all while driving. today august 21, 2014 while making a u-turn my truck failed to accelerate for a few seconds (i really had to push hard on the gas to get it to go). i have found several instances of the same or similar situations on various sites. apparently toyota recalled the 2003 models for the electronic stability control but did not include the 2002's although there are several complaints on multiple other years including the 2002. it would be horrible if someone is injured or killed before toyota takes this seriously. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 toyota sequoia. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle jerked and veered to the left as the vsc warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the yaw rate sensor needed to be reset. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 115,000.
While traveling down the interstate at 65 mph on a flat, even surface under good weather conditions, the vehicle stability control unexpectedly engaged, the vsc trac and trac off lights illuminated. the vehicle's brakes engaged, the steering began to pull to the right, a grinding noise occurred, and the vehicle became very difficult to control. this is not the first time this has happened. the last time was approximately 3 weeks ago (also highway travel at 65+mph). before that, it had been a while. this seems to be a completely random occurrence. however, this poses a serious problem and with two small children, it is extremely concerning. based on what i've read, this is common in this model year vehicle. not sure why a recall has not been made. *tr
I was leaving a parking lot making yielding to make a right turn onto a main right when suddenly my car started to shake and pulled to the right. i had no control of the steering or brakes. the vsc trac and trac light sensor lights came one and i heard this awful grinding noise. i proceeded to drive home slowly on back roads. once i got home i looked the problem up on the internet and found out that toyota had a recall on the 2003 model for the same problem, but not the 2002. i called the dealership and they told me the problem will cost anywhere from $1500-$4000 to fix. my car only has 114,000 miles on it and i find this totally unacceptable. this is obviously a manufacture defect. *tr
I had this vehicle serviced at tom scott toyota in nampa, idaho. the standard 120k. prior to this i had them do some basic services, and they seemed to always make mistakes. once their mechanics sent me out on the road without replacing the correct amount of motor oil. in this instance they had serviced my transmission fluids, and all other 120k requirements. i drove away and the engine light came on immediately. i returned they said it was a transmission solenoid. they reset it, it was running fine. then the light came on again. they claimed it needed the solenoid replaced. after a week the light went off and did not return. 2 days ago, the vsc off, vsc trac, and check engine lights all came on. there is a crinkly noise, like foil crinkling when i accelerate. this is intermittent. i took it to a mechanic they said the entire transmission is bad. $4000. there are enough forums and posts worldwide for this transmission that you should require a recall. clearly toyota manufactured a transmission that is not built correctly. *tr
First incident: on the freeway car all of a sudden made a beeping sound (similar to no seat belt sound) vehicle lost power almost like it downshifted. vsc, trac off lights all came on and the car wouldn't brake! i had to consistently pump on the brake and pull the emergency brake to slow it down. brakes were grinding and it felt as if it was trying to lock but yet skipping (clunk, clunk, cluck). pulled off to the side, turned off engine, and then resumed. i had to pull over 5 separate times due to the same issue. luckily i allowed myself a huge space in between myself and other cars. if not, there would had been a for sure accident. car continues with the same problems. i've done a whole lot of researching in regards to this vehicle and it seems that it's a ecu issue. i am aware that toyota has recalled all 2003 model sequoia's on up but not 2002 on under. this is a huge safety concern of mine and even if i purchased a new ecu there is not guarantee that it's been addressed or fixed for this model. according to the toyota rep. i just got off the phone with 30 minutes ago. please help! and thank you in advance. *tr
While driving the vehicle vsc trac button lights up, vehicle starts beeping, the tires shake pulling vehicle wheel left to right while a v grinding sound comes from under the vehicle. it started doing v this for only a few seconds then stops. the first incident happened in may 2014, then nothing c again until july 2014. now it happens several times randomly through the day for up to 15 second stretches at varying speeds. *tr
All of sudden my car starts to make beeping sound, clunking and thumping. grinding noise. braking is hard and seems unstable. skid control light came on and vsc track light came on as well. this happens on a flat, normal road condition on a sunny day. it feels very dangerous and toyota needs to recall and fix it asap. this happens regularly and i am afraid it may lead to an accident. *tr
Was traveling along road at 20 mph and the vsc lights came on. i had heard about the other problems that occur when this happens so i immediately pulled to the side of the road and turned the car off and then restarted it. upon restarting, no indication of the problem persisted. so far it has not happened again. i am worried that it will happen again as has been described hundreds of times already. please fix this issue toyota!!!!!!!!!!!! *tr
I have a 2002 sequoia, a couple of weeks ago while driving at 35 mph my brakes locked. i took it immediately to my brake guy; he looked it over, put it on the machine, found nothing. i left thinking it might have been something on the road that i missed seeing, that set off the traction sensors. a week went by without incident before it happened again; this time at 40mph on a flat clean highway. the trac off, vsc trac & the slip indicator light came on while the front end shook violently and pulled hard to the right. i was unable to adjust the brake, as it felt locked and my steering column, while vibrating madly was near impossible to turn, it was like driving an old style truck without power steering. i went to another brake shop, they hooked it up to the machine, and again nothing showed up!! today, five days later, while driving home with my children on a major highway doing the posted 65mph it happened again. i was suddenly unable to maneuver my vehicle, the brakes locked, the steering locked, and my vehicle pulled to the right. i just held on and prayed as my car pulled off the road, thank heavens the ground was flat. i have only been that afraid for my family's safety once before, and that was in the middle of a tornado. toyota has a serious problem here! *tr
Traction control /vsc comes on all the time. *tr
Vehicle was traveling at 65pm all of a sudden the trac control light and vsc light came on, was unable to control the truck due to the steering wheel getting light. pulled over and stopped called toyota customer care they states we are own our own with that problem. *tr
Vsc track system activates unexpectedly under normal driving conditions producing a very loud grinding noise of the front brakes and for about 15-30 secs the brakes won't work. this problem causes the steering system to suddenly pull to the right side with a significant reduction of speed. extremely dangerous when it has happened on high traffic volume highways. reported this situation to toyota corp. and they replied that they don't have any campaign or recall for the condition described. toyota customer experience provided me with incident no. xxxxxx-xxx303 for my complaint report. it is worth to mention of the hundreds of sequoia owners complaining of this problem on social media websites for vehicle complaints and yet nothing has been done by toyota. *tr
Vehicle had violent grinding and braking of the right front wheel causing a hard pull to the right. vsc and trac lights and warning buzzers came on. turned vehicle off and restarted five minutes later. same thing has happened three times since within 6 months. the last time was on the interstate and caused hard pull to the right. dealer cannot identify problem and claim they have never heard of this before. *tr
A week prior my vsc trac and vsc off lights came on but nothing else occurred. now out of nowhere my vehicle will make an audible sound and start rumbling and pulling to the right and slowing but won't allow me to brake. this can last anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds. sometimes the picture of the car with the skid marks will light up (even on dry roads) other times the abs light will come on. once the beeping and vibrations stop, the vsc trac and vsc off lights remain on until i turn the car off. i drive 30 miles each way to work daily. this is very dangerous and scary as i have no idea what triggers the episodes. *tr
Car was going 20mph on dry pavement. all of the sudden the vehicle stability control (vsc) activated causing the vehicle to shake and slowdown. when the vsc is engaged car is unable to accelerate. this happen on multiple times with car going 20-40mph. on roads with high traffic with cars behind me and the sudden activation of the vsc, causing my car to suddenly and abruptly slow down, almost cause the car behind to rear end my vehicle. on one occasions, my children were in the car. on many internet forums, many sequoia owners are experiencing the same problem. this is a very dangerous defects that toyota needs to address and fix asap. *tr
I am having problem with my sequoia vsc trac sensor lights turning on and off and hearing grinding noise when it auto-engage and disengage. *tr
Vehicle vsc and trac is auto-engaging during a drive without cause. the vehicle will jerk to a side, and a grinding noise will occur until the vehicle comes to a stop. braking is slow and takes much longer to stop the vehicle. electronic beeping is also heard throughout. vsc and trac lights come on and stay on after the incident until the vehicle is turned off. *tr
The skid control light and warning alarm comes on while driving for no reason, car pulls to the right, unable to come to a stop with brake, car shakes, very unsafe!!! once the warning alarm goes off the vsc and trac control lights come on. from what i have been able to locate on the internet this is a common problem that was recalled for the 2003 model. toyota needs to recall for the 2002 model also. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 toyota sequoia. the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vcs system warning light illuminated as the steering, brakes and acceleration failed. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 151,000.
Vsc trac, trac off, brake, and abs lights on as the same time for the last couple months. sometimes the car straddled a little bit when i drove on freeway. i checked the code, but there are no code. i tried to looking for help online, but i am surprised, there were a lot of toyota sequoia owner has the same problem like mine. *tr
Driving on dry, straight highway when vsc light and trac light come on and beeping started. vehicle starting trying to engage 4wd i think...lots of grinding in the front end and steering shaking. went on for about 2 minutes then stopped. vehicle not easy to control when this happened. has happened multiple times since. taking to mechanic this week. not safe for wife and kids to be driving. *tr
The vsc lights and traction lights have been randomly coming on since we purchased the sequoia in 2005 with approx. 80k on it. they typically go off on their own and do not cause any issues. now the slip indicator light comes on, flashes and beeps while locking up the abs and making it impossible to move until it comes to a complete stop. we have been fortunate that this has only happened at low speeds and not caused any accidents yet. it apperars that this is a wide spread issue with a combination of parts starting with the vsc computer, yaw sensor and steering angle sensor. hopefully toyota will take care of this due to the overall safety concern. *tr
I was driving on a highway around 10:30pm, and all of a sudden i hear grinding noise and vsc/trac light goes on. reduced speed because i felt as though i may lose control of vehicle. vsc/trac light stays on, then goes off. less than 30 minutes later, i hear beeping noise and vsc/trac light comes back on. this same incident has happened a week ago, where i pulled over the side of the road thinking it was a flat because i felt like i was losing control then too, but no flat. trac control issue then too (hearing grinding noise). concerned because it seems i may lose control. *tr
While driving my 2002 toyota sequoia, i pulled into traffic and all of a sudden the truck lost power as cars swerved around me and a violent grinding noise started. a skid control light started flashing. i could feel the grinding on the brake pedal. after a few seconds, the truck beeped and 2 more lights came on. the "trac off" and "vsc" came on. after that the truck drove normal. this has happened multiple times now! i no longer feel safe on the road as this seems to happen at any moment. i have read all about this problem on the internet. many sequoia owners have had these same problems. why will toyota not fix these problems??? what has to happen for them to feel responsible?? *tr
Trac off, vsc trac lights came on as the rear wheel locked up for a sec . loss of power , vehicle pulled hard to the right almost causing collision with 18 wheeler on highway. *tr
