Takata recall- the airbag sensor light recently came on in my car and i am being told there is an issue with the airbag inflator and/or sensor causing the light to stay on. also this is the second time in a year that my horn has gone out.
Driver side window switch is not working good. when using it to pull down driver side window is being scratched up due to i think lack of lubricant. window switch works but is making marks on my windo and i am scared it will eventually break it.
I want to know the car history
The car was driven on a highway for a 40 minute trip and when we got home the dash had started to melt and burn. it starts on the center console near the air bag sign and continues towards the passenger side door across the lower glove compartment.
As i was driving down a slight decline driveway my car suddenly accelerated to around 20 or more miles. the only way i was able to stop is by driving it on the curb and onto the sidewalk.
Second time i have experienced a surge. on slowing to make a right turn my car surged forward instead of turning. had to almost stand on brake to slow the car. third surge was when right turn into driveway and stopped to allow passenger to get out car surged forward and hit garage door before i could stop it.
Takata recall i was in an accident in my 2010 toyota corolla exiting a major interstate on 07/07/2017. the off ramp had a very sharp curve where i lost control (possibly a failure in the stability control system?) and was traveling at around 45mph. i went into a spin and the left rear of my car hit the guardrail, spinning out still my car then hit the guardrail head-on causing the front end to collapse into the motor cavity. the airbags did not deploy causing bruising to my shoulder and abdomen areas. my neck and back were injured causing me to be immobile for a couple of weeks. i have had cat-scans and mri's trying to find out what my injuries are. i have to go to pain management to deal with the everyday pain and my life has been affected greatly. i informed toyota about the airbags and they seemed very concerned. the are investigating the issue and sent out a company called bosch to download information from the cdr box. i am still waiting on toyota's answer to this problem. i was never aware of this recall as i had purchased the car pre-owned from a toyota dealership october of 2015. i also reported the airbag lights going off and on along with other electrical problems to two different toyota dealerships along with allstate insurance company, my provider.
Car would start then driving at 10mph the car stalls and the dash lights illuminate the dashboard. put the car in park and restart with no problem but if somebody was behind me it would've caused an accident. last week car did the same thing except i the car was in motion towards an intersection from idle and had to quickly put it in park and restart it and move it before i would've been involved in a deadly accident.
Takata recall
I will start by saying that i have a toyota corolla 2010. on friday september 13,2016 while i was driving in a street about 20/30 mph my car started accelerating by itself, i tried to stop by pressing the brake, but the car kept going, then i moved the handle on parking, the car wouldn't respond until i pull the hand brake. i immediately called toyota and explained to them what happen. quickly they sent a tow truck to pick up my car to see what was wrong. they gave me a loaner for the day. the person at the dealer told me they will contact me the next day and we could take it from there. nobody called so around 3pm i called asking they said they haven't hear from corporation and they didn't know. i ask about the loaner car. they said not to worry about it. the same thing happens the next day. i called they say not to worry about the car and that they will call me if they have any news on my car. on friday around 4:50 the service manager called me and said that toyota corporation had concluded that there is nothing wrong with the car. they said i could pick up my car and pay for the rental car and the inspection of the car. i would like to know if any of you or know someone who had something similar happened. i am terrified to drive the car and so frustrated the toyota had decided that there's nothing wrong with the car. i don't know what to do about it. i have grandkids who gets in the car also my job requires me to drive patients in my car.
Takata recall-i live in south florida. i believe this requires that i be one of the first to receive it. we have been waiting too long.
Just recalled 3 times, engine light has been on forever
Car was t-boned by other car & all airbags deployed causing injury to people in vehicle
While driving on route 30 east in pa, i experienced a scenario where i was on cruise control and pressed the brake. the car continued to accelerate at it's speed and subsequent pressings of the brakes did not slow the car. i shifted the car into neutral and the brakes still were not slowing the car enough. i had to drive into the left shoulder and grass beyond that in order to slow the car down enough to let other cars pass so i could go into the right lane. the next business i took my car to the dealer and after driving 7 miles and looking for error codes, reported that they "could not reproduce the issue". my car already had all the fixes for the unintended acceleration issue that toyota had a number of recalls for done in december 2013. this issue needs to be further investigated by toyota because if the reported fixes do not work, then there could be a significant number of accidents/fatalities yet to come. i never had experienced this issue before. *tr
Takata recall. gas pedal becomes stuck with floor mat when car is in motion. we have had to remove floor mat for safety. removal of floor mat has caused wear and tear on floor board covering.
I was parking my car wednesday evening. as i was about to finish parking my car, the engine out of nowhere made a loud vroom and accelerated on it's own as i was pressing the brake. the car hit a snow bank which stopped the car. fortunately no one was injured.
2010 toyota corolla. consumer expresses discontent regarding recall *tgw the consumer stated a recall was issued june 20th and he still hasn't been notified. *jb
To toyota : sending out an interim recall notice #16v-340 saying you are preparing a remedy is not satisfactory this recall has been ongoing for months and a remedy should have already been completed. toyota had plenty of time to prepare this remedy. advising owners not to drive vehicle with passengers in front is certainly not conducive when you only have one vehicle to use. you should provide another vehicle in the meantime.

I have owned my new 2010 corolla for six months. today, my technician found the crank sensor was leaking oil. toyota dealer will examine my car this evening. i see that in 2006, this toyota part was recalled on the echo. i am suspicious that this later model is failing in the same way.

I am extremely upset with toyota. i purchased my first ever toyota, a 2010 corolla xrs. what did a get for my money? a multitude of severe safety problems. a death trap that i am stuck with. can't sell it, can't trade it, stuck with driving it. a great first impression, let me tell you. toyota should be mandated to refund our money 100% in full for knowingly selling defective products. *tr
In an faux-article ad in florida today, a local florida space coast daily newspaper on 2/12, a local toyota dealer states that: "every vehicle on the dealerships lot is fully qualified for sale. any needed repairs have been made..." it goes on to state: "in the meantime, sales continue on toyota's full line of vehicles. those affected by the recall were fixed quickly, thanks to swift delivery of needed parts by toyota." the ad then explains how owners of affected vehicles that are currently being driven can make arrangements to have them fixed "within the next 90 days". this is outrageous! toyota is making statements that the customer comes first, the ceo looks like he's about to fall on his sword... yet they are repairing vehicles on the dealership's lot to prepare them for possible sale before they repair customer's vehicles that are being driven every day??? that really makes it seem like toyota's first priority is its customer's safety and satisfaction, huh? my mother-in-law drives a 2010 corolla. i called the dealer she purchased it from and asked if they were selling new corolla's at significant discounts. they assured me that they were. i asked about the recall situation, and was informed that if the car i selected hadn't been repaired yet, they would take care of it while i waited. i then asked if my relatives could bring their corolla in for repair and was told: "no, we are working on camry's first. we only have enough parts to fix the corollas we have on the lot." how can they fix inventory before addressing customer vehicles??? *tr
Toyota corolla s 2010 [xxx] with extra stabilizer bar kit, purchased 11-30-09 with delivery in 12/09. 1) approximately 1 month after purchase ,the car starting to veer sharply right then left when driving on the highway, it was/is difficult to control requiring a tight grip on the wheel. it feels like strong winds are moving the car but winds are absent and road conditions are normal. this event comes and goes unexpectedly, generally lasts the duration of my commute once started, sometimes occurs with the tire pressure gauge but not always, sometimes occurs after rapid braking. it does not feel like an alignment or balance problem, the car darts from one end of the lane, to the median of the lane on its own. on this date 2-24-10 my local dealership filled the tires, and made a slight change to the left alignment they could not duplicate the problem and stated "this could be a matter of personal preferences" regarding how i felt the car drove when this occurred. the toyota manager also told me today that they understand "there could be a problem but they have no direction on how to repair it." when asked then if he could guarantee my safety and that this would not occur again he stated no, but there was nothing for him to do. no injuries to date. i do not feel toyota is making reasonable efforts to quickly eliminate this problem, acknowledge a problem, and do not wish to resolve this with statements regarding my personal preference for the drive, and since this in their opinion is not reproducible for them it is not a viable problem for them to repair. 2) on approximately 2-11-10 i had to use my brakes in an emergency situation in which my brakes were temporally non-response. i had to downshift the gears, remove my foot totally from the gas pedal ,and maneuvered the car away from the other stopped car. no abs was felt, the brake pedal was depressed fully, this occurred at hwy speeds. no acknowledgement of problem or remedy proposed by toy currently. *tr
As i was turning off a main road to a store parking lot my vehicle begain to accelerate after i removed my foot from the brake. i was going about 10mph at the time. i was able to quickly stop the car and turn it off. at this time, i will not allow anyone in my family to drive this vehicle. i am an engineer and there is no question in my mind that this vehicle was accelerating on its own after i removed my foot from the brake and i was driving on a road with no grade (flat road).
Toyota of kingsport 2525 east stone drive kingsport, tn 37660 on november 27, 2009, i purchased a 2010 toyota corolla, from a 3rd party for my ex-wife of gate city, virginia. during the test drive, the 3rd party and i discussed the accelerator problem that was being reported in the news and on many internet websites. he assured me that there was not a problem. he also told me that the corolla had never in its entire history been the subject of a recall. i later found out this to be untrue. there is also a problem with the steering on this car. it wanders at higher speeds and will not hold a straight line. this is a serious and dangerous defect, especially for a 60-year old woman. you cannot take your eye off the road even for a split second or you may find yourself in the next lane or running off the road. this is highly unacceptable. according to the news, this steering defect has been reported to toyota on many occasions. my ex wife is on disability. she had major heart surgery in february, 2009. she had two heart valves replaced, two heart artery by-passes and had to have a graft on her heart aorta. she has many other disabilities to deal with. this was her first new car in 13 years. she previously drove a toyota tercel for 13 years - a good car. together, we have owned a camry, tercel, tundra, tacoma and now this corolla. but i can assure you that this will be the last toyota i will ever buy. toyota has know about these defects but still continued to sell them to the public. the word that comes to mind is fraud. i am at a loss as what to do. i am also on disability and cannot afford to replace this car for her and i worry each day that she has to drive this car. please respond in writing how you plan to address this situation. as each day passes, the chance of her being involved in an accident grows greater. you will receive a copy of this letter by certified mail. *tr
2010 toyota corolla. consumer states sulfur odor in the cabin of the car within the first month of ownership. in addition consumer states she is scared to drive the vehicle due to the latest recall related to the accelerator system. *tgw
I own a 2010 toyota corolla. on several occasions, when i apply the brake, there is a shuddering feeling and sound before the braking hooks in. i would say this has happend about 10 times in the 6 months i have owned the car. in light of the other braking problems, i am more and more concerned about this one. i plan to discuss this to with toyota when i take my car for the other breaking and accelerator repairs. however, in light of all of the problems with the new cars, what is it going to take before the dot insists that there be a buyback of these 2009-1010 cars, which are obviously full of problems. where will it end? more accidents? i want my money back. *tr
