I am asking for an investigation being done for my vehicle which was about to killed me on wednesday january 26th 2011. i was coming home from work around 11:30 pm and my toyota corolla made a spin round two times and was about to turn over before the engine seized. and ten minutes before that my car run through the red light on rockaway turnpike, i called up toyota and made an complaint. they told me someone is going to get in contact with me within three business day but no one did not. i also called toyota a few ago about the same issue ,but they stated that my car in not in the recalled. i have a 2006 corolla. most of the time when ever i try to step my feet on the brakes its like some thing is hold the brake from going down. i would be very grateful if someone could please help me as soon as possible or else i will die in that car. *tr
2006 toyota corolla air conditioner stopped blowing at 51,000 miles. after reviewing several posts on auto repair sites it appears as though the air conditioner stops working on 2006 models between 48,000 and 55,000 miles some issues have been condenser and others are the blower and/or relay. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota corolla. the contact stated while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle would not increase in speed with limited power. the dealer advised that the pedal position sensor was defective. the sensor was replaced. one week later while driving at 70 mph, the failure recurred and the vehicle independently decelerated to 35 mph. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where yet the failure could not be duplicated. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. the dealer advised the electronic control unit (ecu) was defective and would need to be replaced. the contact stated the ecu was previously replaced less than a year prior to the failure. the ecu was replaced however while leaving the dealer, the check engine warning light illuminated and the failure recurred. the dealer then advised that the failure was caused by the after market security system in the vehicle. the contact had not experienced any failures with the security system since purchasing five years prior to the failure. the vehicle was not further repaired. the manufacturer would not provide any assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 58,000 and the current mileage was 58,022.
Toyota corolla 2006 had transmission replaced at 55000km was grinding gear wile i was up shifting an also down shifting all other gears were fine now the rebuild transmission that toyota put in the car is now at 65000km and i am having the same problem
Driving on the road and my accelerator didn't work. the engine was still on but when i pressed on the accelerator it didn't register that i was pressing the foot. towed to toyota dealer and they said that some ecm - engine control components were defective and they replaced the engine computer. didn't think it necessary to do a recall because it was only in some cars. *cn
Prior to january 1, 2010 started hearing squealing noise coming from engine. at regular maintenance intervals brought to the attention of service departments and was told this was not unusual due to moisture build up on belts. accepted explanation at toyota dealerships. noise continued to get worse so took in again on january 17, 2010 - mileage @ 50,496. tensioner assy. was replaced (not under warranty) @ a cost of $368.18. a couple of days later the same noise returned. continued to bring to the attention of service department at regular maintenance interval 3/27/10-mileage @53,192 and they could not duplicate the noise i was hearing. noise continued and got worse - took back to dealership on 8/16/10-mileage @58,411, again they could not duplicate the noise? noise continued every day - all the time. took back to dealership on 11/26/10 - mileage @61,521. they replaced tensioner assembly @ no cost and was told my timing chain tensioner was leaking oil and the belt tensioner was leaking too? what the [xxx]? service manager suggested i call 1-800-331-4331 to file a complain, i did so on 11/29. case #[xxx]. i was told the tensioner assembly (3 year/36,000miles) was not under warranty at the initial repair and the timing chain repair is not under warranty either (5 year/60,000 mile) which will cost me $173.00. my point here is that taking into consideration all the recalls for toyota vehicles -- toyota can't possibly hold the consumer to the warranties they have in place. it is apparent to me that the parts are defective and i don't feel i should have to pay anything for these repairs. as of today, i am still hearing the same noise when i crank my car from the tensioner assembly just replaced on 11/26. toyota should reimburse me for all the defective parts/labor/and my personal time/mileage to get this repair done and the repair to the timing chain should be at no cost to me. there should be a recall on this too. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b
I own a 2006 toyota corolla le, and in november 2009 my check engine like lit up. i took my car to the toyota dealership in mons, belgium. it turns out there is a problem with the pressure control solenoid. i am stationed in england, so i decided to take my care to the dealership there. however, they will not work on my car because it is us specification. so, now i am having issues with trying to work with the dealership in belgium to get my car fixed. *tr
My 2006 toyota corolla ce would not stop when i exited off i-5 at the 128th st exit near millcreek wa. the engine was racing and i floored the brake and threw the car into neutral to avoid a huge crash into the vehicles in front of me. i bought the car new in 2006 and the computer has had to have two replacements. the car would not run without warning and has had to be towed. i am fearful of my safety and that of my passengers in this vehicle and have had little explanation at the dealership except that this is 'rare'. the dealership told me to take the mats out of the driver's side of the car altogether, but i'm positive the failure to stop had nothing to do with stuck mats. this all seems connected to the problem i've had from the very beginning with the car's computer failures. *tr
Air conditioner works only 1/4th of the time. it blows cold and then continues to blow but changes to blowing hot air. this is very problematic with the heat conditions of summer with small children in the car. we are looking at costly repairs due to faulty equipment from the manufacturer. *tr
A/c stopped working right when warranty expired. no guard on air conditioner compressor resulting in easily damaged a/c component. *tr
2006 toyota corolla ce has a problem with the a/c condenser on the 05/06 models that was built with a defect in the a/c condenser that causes it to lose pressure after 35000 miles. toyota is charging at least $650 to repair this defect. toyota tech. service bulletin ac00-06. this needs to be a recall. toyota is making a fortune off this built-in defect, due to so many of these corollas on the road. please force them to recall and fix/replace this built-in defect. toyota is telling customers that it is a "rock" that did it and not covered on warranty. the part is in a spot where no foreign object can get to it. people can't afford these high bills on a brand-new car. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota corolla. the contact stated that the air conditioner blew hot air when the vehicle was started. the dealer stated that there was road damage to the condenser and they would not be responsible for the repairs. moreover, the contact felt that there was no engine protection for the vehicle. the current mileage was 24,000 and failure mileage was 23,000. updated 10/23/07 *tr
I purchased a 2006 toyota corolla ce on 06-26-06. on 02-05-07 vehicle would not start. after several attempts it still didn't start. i called the local toyota dealership and he told me to get a jump off because it was the battery due to the cold weather. i got a jump off and it still would start. i called the dealership back and he told me to call a tow truck. i did that and it was towed to the dealership. we needed all keys to see if it was the keys and it wasn't. he thought it was bad gas and it wasn't. then he said it was the computer. the computer was replaced and i still have trouble cranking it now. i would turn the key and it wouldn't do anything. after several attempts, it would crank. before this incidence, in july 2006, not even a month after getting the vehicle, my brakes started squealing and they still do now. the rotor was defective and replaced. each time i take it for servicing, i'm told there's nothing wrong with the brakes. i filed a complaint with toyota customer relations with no response. now i've filed a complaint with the national center for dispute settlement. *jb
