Recently reported SEAT BELTS problems on 2006 Toyota Corolla

Left front seat belt latch buckle fell apart and could not be buckled. had to pay the dealership $175.64 to replace it on 03 june 2014. paid $54.66 for parts, $115 for labor $1.43 for misc charges and $4.55 for sales tax. yesterday, the buckle they replaced broke and cannot be buckled. i will have to have it replaced for a second time, 4.5 years after replacing the first seat belt latch buckle. definitely a safety hazard that toyota should be paying for and not the consumer, not to mention a liability. how long should seat belt latch buckles last? this will be the third one in twelve years. the vehicle was stationary as i was buckling up to drive. could not buckle up in the driver's seat due to broken latch buckle. i have the receipt from the dealer for first repair on 03 june 2014. i will have a second receipt after this second replacement of the seat belt latch buckle. is it safe to drive this vehicle to the dealer for the repair? should it be towed? i have an appointment for monday. dealership said i could "drop it off" sunday and leave the key in the drop box. i guess they think it is safe for me to drive it to their dealership. that is what i did for the first replacement 4.5 years ago in 2014. if an accident occurs on my way to the dealership for repair and results in injury or death, is toyota liable for their defective seat belt latch?

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota corolla. while driving between 55-70 mph, the rear driver's side and center rear seat belt buckle assemblies failed. both rear passengers were not properly secured when a tire blew out. the dealer replaced one of the three seat belt assemblies. the vin was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 40,000.

In march 2008, i was the 3rd car in a four car accident. when i was hit from the rear, i was pushed, extremely hard into the car in front of me. i lost conscientiousness when i hit the steering wheel. my air bags never deployed, nor did my seat belt lock up in order for me to avoid an injury. should toyota be recalling their 2006 corollas for re-check and repair. also, i understand the 2006 toyota was recalled in 2007 for exterior lighting issues, i was never notified. *tr

Last year we purchased a 2006 toyota corolla. we added side air bags. we wanted a safe vehicle for our daughter to drive. two days ago she was driving a friend to work. a car was parked on the right side of the road. it pulled out to a make a u-turn right in front of her. she avoided a straight on t-bone of the car by braking and swerving to the right. the left front of her car hit the drivers door and side of the other car. she was traveling at 50 mph. the airbags did not deploy. the passenger in her car hit his head on the dashboard- his seatbelt did not tighten and lock in. he suffered a concussion. both my daughter and passenger suffered body aches and bruising from the collision. at this time the car is at a body shop for estimates on the damage. we will have it also go to the toyota dealer to determine why the airbags and seatbelt failed to work. we purchased this vehicle specifically for its safety features and are quite dismayed that they failed. we have no confidence in this vehicle now. *tr

1. september 1, 2006 and september 10, 2006. 2. rear seat belt has jammed closed and would not release allowing passenger to exit the vehicle. in a separate event the buckle snapped as though it was in place, but it later released while the vehicle was in operation. 3. the vehicle will be taken back to the dealership for replacement. for now, that seat is not being used. *nm
