We have classified the 4 complaints from 2004 Toyota Corolla about ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL into the following categories.
My car has had a recall that according to toyota they do not have a solution for. i have been unable to get anyone to travel with me in my car due to the recall notice indicating that the sub-wire harness (filter) and the supplemental restraint system (srs) electronic control unit (ecu) has not been installed. i don't have the possibility of buying another car and so i feel that my life is in danger as well. on 04-13-15 a new case was opened to resolve this issue (case#1504132776). i later followed up and spoke to sabrina (manager at the toyota located in west columbia, sc in july 2015. she also said that no remedy has been released yet. i would like to ask for someone to give urgent consideration to my case. i feel that i cant even sell this car because this recall lowers the price of the vehicle and my conscience does not allow to pass on to someone else a danger like this. will someone please help!
A complaint was filed with you on 4/9/13 regarding the recall of toyota's for airbag malfunctions, however, to date, i have not heard anything back re my complaint. now, i receive another recall notice for the supplemental restraint system (srs electronic control unit (ecu) recalls. each time, i called the toyota dealership (dch brunswick toyota, 732.418.7888) and was told, "sorry, we do not have the parts to correct this issue and you will be sent another recall letter; if this was a serious issue, we would do something about it so don't worry. well, i would consider a malfunctioning air bag to be a very serious issue if it were to malfunction while i was driving on a major interstate freeway and couldn't see where i was going due to this malfunctioning airbag issue, wouldn't you??? this would cause a major traffic accident with fatalities! toyota advises that you do not drive your car, however, i am a caregiver to my elderly mom and i need my car to get her where she needs to go as she has stage ii cancer. what is being done to fix this troublesome issue and why can't they get the parts for it??? if i can take the time to send this complaint to you, it would be a common courtesy for someone to contact me with a resolution. thank you. *tr
Ecu (srs) & takata recall
My 2004 toyota corrolla seems to be steering improperly. upon turning the steering wheel to a straight position the whole car seems to swerve and become almost uncontrollable. i have just barely avoided serveral accidents and in wet condtions the problem is worse. i replaced the tires and had them check the alignment on the vehicle and it still continues to be an issue. i took the car to my dealer and was advised that they could not replicate the problem but have had at least four other persons drive the vehicle and they all have commented on the steering/control problem even passengers in the vehicle notice the problem as you can feel it while driving or riding in the vehicle. my dealer also states they did not see any broken or loose parts that would cause the control problem.
My 2004 toyota corolla surges for 1-2 seconds while at stop or red light. it feels like it is going to take off by itself. this happens more often in warm weather than cold weather. i brought my car to the dear and complained about this problem. they told me it is normal. this can be over all serious safety problem. *tr
I purchased a brand new 2004 toyota corolla le from bob pagan/sand dollar toyota, 7626 broadway, galveston, tx 77551 on may 13, 2004 with 14 miles on odometer and drove it all the way to plano, tx. while i was driving it to plano, i felt its ride abnormal, excessive bouncing, very bumpy and rough similar to turbulences in a plane. toyota boasts itself of total customer satisfaction. these are just slogans. they provide shoddy customer service. they refused to repair car, refused to refund full money towards buying another toyota and refused to help by saying that the car is designed this way. the steering also felt stiff and tight. this highly excessive bouncing, bumpy, shaky, jolting, turbulence, vibrating ride is not acceptable at all. there is definitely a problem with this car. toyota needs to fulfill its pledge, obligation and commitment to customer satisfaction. i am not satisfied with this car. i wrote letters to toyota chairman in japan and also wrote to toyota president in the us. toyota president called me but offered no help at all and refused to take car back and refused to repair it too. there is definitely a defect and it could be assembly line related or shock/struts related/ or could be tire related. toyota sucks and their service sucks. they mislead people in their ads.
