Dashboard defect, melting. over time it has become increasingly difficult to see while driving. especially when sunny there is a glare in the window. wearing sunglasses only helps minimally. *tr
Driver's side sun visor constantly droops and sags, unable to maintain closed position. u.s. made camrys were subject to recall. this subject camry was made in japan imported to u.s.
Last year on august 2012, my car stop running and i brought to one of the mechanic that towed and fixed my water pump. this year, i brought my car to toyota dealer for some recalls and find out that my antifreeze is entered to my water pump again and need to replace with new one... total cost will be more than 650.00 dollars. i wonder if there any recall for this matter before or do i have to deal with the same problem every years!!! please investigate this problem. thanks *tr
Toyota camry 2009. when dash heats up it starts shinning and cause glare on windshield, it causes obstructive vision to the driver's visibility of the roadway. in addition, the material on the dashboard would become very sticky and appeared to be melting. glare is a safety issue and should be recalled. *tr
I cant give a definitve date when i noticed but i did notice it seemed to appear as if i had put a coat of conditioner on it, i assumed it was just a matter of the heat causing excess conditioner to leach out. i attempted to wipe it off and realized it was sticky and it was near the warranty expiration time. one cold moring i got in the car and realized no normal dashboard should look like that and pressed it with my fingernail and realized it was soft. i take my car in on fairly regular basis to a toyota dealer. which is why i believe the service technicians saw the pattern of change and choose not to document it or say anything as it may involve a problem that would not involve profit for toyota or the dealership. my last trip was for a defect on the visor and i mentioned it to the service agent who choose not to make any comment which i noted as odd ( a typical action when management has instruced employees not to comment on a known problem). a month or so later i received a notice in the mail that they woul take care of the problem with a complimentary fix to the problem. the letter i received appears to be a stalling tactic to get customers to wait, not fix the problem and or seek reimbursement utill it's too late for redress. on my last visit i insisted they make note of the problem due to dangerous glare being reflected off the dashboard onto the windshield. i stated it was a grave safety issue. the letter stated they needed to acquire enouh parts to fix the cars and do no contact the dealer to wait for a notice to bring your car in. if i had an accident it would not take over six months to acquire the parts if i or the insurance company was paying for it. believe me if ceo's of toyota or there loved ones were driving with this problem they would immediately fix the problem, they probably have and kept it off the record.
The "dash panels" of my car is melting and it is all sticky, due to the high temperatures, which is a danger because it can cause a fire in the electrical parts that are under it. i need your immediate intervention, so that the toyota takes charge of changing this piece for free as it is a manufacturing defect
My toyota camry dashboard is melting, and becoming sticky and gooey.there's a glare that reflects on the windshield from the shiny dashboard, which creates visibility challenges while driving. i was never notified of the recall back in 2014.
My dashboard is extremely shiny and sticky. when it''s sunny out, the glare is so strong that it's difficult to see the road. very scary at 60 mph. i live in sunny south florida, so this is a problem 90% of the time.
Prior to these incidents, the vehicle was checked by the dealer on their recall. i was traveling on a 2 lane highway at 60 mph with the cruise control on. i approached a slight incline in the road and the transmission downshifted as normal. tachometer went from 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm. then suddenly there was a sudden uncontrollable acceleration in which the engine revved up to 4500 rpm and the engine was screaming as though it was about to blow apart. my foot was not in contact with the accelerator pedal. the floor mat had been removed per the dealer instructions. i immediately put my foot on the brake pedal which stopped the sudden acceleration. if this had been on a wet highway or in traffic there would surely have been an accident. this same incident has occurred 4 times within the last 6 months. i took the vehicle back to the dealer and they reported that there was nothing wrong and they could not replicate the problem. after several conversations with toyota, they said that they will make a record of my incidents but, toyota will do nothing to fix the problem. this had to have been caused by the cruise control system or the computer/software controlling it.
Leaking front struts: i reported the finding to the local toyota dealer (scott tom toyota, nampa, idaho) and also called the main toyota customer center. the local dealer's service associate confirmed the existence of the leakage. i was told the amount of the leakage is "small," "normal," no need to repair at this point, and if i want to have it replaced then its not covered by the warranty. i believe leaking struts issue is very common to toyota camry and may pose possible safety issue.
My mechanic is told me for years that i have a oil consumption problem. my oil runs out after about 1500 miles. i've taken it to the toyota dealership several times to get it checked out and they continuously say there is no problem. i was advised to post a complaint on this board so that's what i'm doing.
