The dash board on my 2007 toyota camry has become extremely soft and glares back into the window causing it hard to see. this clearly should be a defect that needs to be addressed before anyone gets hurt. it is clear to see this is not an isolated case as per all the postings on the internet. i hope that the agency in charge of safety looks at this as a real problem and not wait until something bad happens before reacting. *tr

The dashboard on my car is melting, the vehicle has been garage kept since 2011. the dashboard is extremely shiny and sticky and causes a serious glare problem while driving in daylight. i am afraid to operate the vehicle during daylight hours, due to the serious possibility of causing an accident because of the near zero visibility caused by the glare off the dashboard. *tr

My dashboard is melting and i saw on the news that many other people are having the same problem. the melting causes a glare on the windshield and can cause an accident. this is very dangerous. please have toyota do something about this. *tr
Glare from dashboard distracted me. also seems that dashboard is melting and breaking apart in small areas. main concern is the glare, it seems that glare is getting worse along with the melting. really worried that glare might distract to the point of an accident. tried cleaning but nothing seems to work, cloth or paper products start to stick to dashboard. *tr
9-30-2014: my dashboard as been melting for more than a year. at first i just thought it was soft on especially hot days, but the condition continued to deteriorate. now pieces are starting to come off and visibility is getting worse daily as the dash becomes shinier. i park my car in a carport out of the sun. i drive the car short distances once a week or less. i contacted my local toyota dealer in gainesville florida several times asking what to do. they finally told me to call toyota corporate, which i did in august. they said they were unaware of other owners with problems and since i was out of warranty and was not a preferred customer (since i haven't purchased more than one toyota) there was nothing they could do. today i went to the local dealer in person. [xxx], the service rep, said it would cost $3,000 to replace, or i could get a dashboard cover. however, he told me that i had to be careful about covering the air bag on the passenger side. how many owners are trying to deal with this issue on their own with covers only to cause a malfunction of the air bag in an accident?! i'm so exasperated with how toyota has been dealing with the problem i began an internet search today and discovered the media reports and hundreds of complaints. wow! when i talked to [xxx] today i asked him if he has seen this issue. he looked down at the dashboard and said, "no." is this how toyota is training their reps? to lie to their customers? i guess so now that i see the reporting of the problem and news that a lawsuit has been filed by ferraro law firm in miami. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I began noticing that the dashboard of my camry was becoming shiny/wet looking approx a year ago. it has progressively gotten worse and now it is so bad that there is a glare on my windshield during daylight driving. this vehicle stays in an enclosed garage and no harsh/caustic cleaning agents have ever been applied to the dashboard. the dashboard is soft and sticky. it is literally melting! additionally, there is a foul odor as a result of the melting dashboard. *tr
The upper part of the dashboard (toward the windshield) has become soft and sticky. it is essentially melting. i have tried to clean it but that only makes it worse. it is now just a sticky goo. *tr
Dashboard has been melting for several weeks and now is cracked open. dashboard cover material from windshield to radio and across full width of vehicle is very sickly, cannot be cleaned without leaving cloth lint embedded in the dash cover material, is structurally unstable and too soft to touch without leaving damage and will easily peal off under fingernails. light reflection from dashboard is greatly increased and at times distracting. no other interior parts ie plastic, metal, leather, carpet or cloth are affected. *js
I have a 2007 lecamry and my wife noticed a couple of weeks ago that the dashboard was real sticky i tried cleaning with a rag with water also noticed that the windshield was getting real hazy i tried to clean that even went to a glass company. i called lou fusz in st. louis, mo. made an appointment with them on 8-30-2013 they called the manufacture up toyota they said it was past the warranty she called the extended warranty company up they said it was not covered. lou fusz came to the conclusion that the dash was causing the haziness on the windshield they said that they could replace the dash for $1600.this dash is dangerous it is putting a chemical called plasticsizes out it bubbles and the dash is comming off this is ridiculous that toyota can get by with this can a class action lawsuit be brought against toyota there seems to be a lot of cars all over the country doing this can you contact me on this thank you [xxxx] [xxxx] [xxxx] [xxxx] *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)
The dashboard near to the windshield is tacky and sticky. it appears that the dash is releasing a chemical similar to glue. i've contacted multiple toyota dealerships and toyota directly and they claim to have never heard of this issue. but a simple search of the internet shows this happening nationwide. i did purchase my 2007 toyota camry se new at the end of 2006. my windows are tinted with 20% and i use a sunshade regularly and this problem has become more evident this past month/ *tr
I have a 2007 toyota camry and i purchased a extended warranty when i bought the car in 2007 that warranty expired august 1, 2013 a few days after it had expired my driver side visor will not stay up! i do not hang anything on it like cd holder or anything. it is driving me crazy because it makes it very hard to see the road when i am driving and i feel this should be recalled sense there has been multiple complaints for the 2007 camry with this same situation and it is a safety problem for many camry owners. the visor sometimes even hits me in the head when i try to get out of my car. i have had many issues with this car from day one and i am not very happy that this has not been recalled yet. seems like toyota does not care for the safety of their customers. also on top of the visor my shock coil broke on the passenger side which the extended warranty did cover sense it happened before august 1st but now the strut is leaking oil on that same side, i brought it to the toyota dealer in june 2013 and they told me they won't replace it because even though it is leaking oil it is not 100% broken yet and told me the warranty wont cover it until it completely blows! i told them i have a young child that i have to think of this safety along with mine and was shocked that even though it is leaking oil (which is not good) cause at any moment while driving it can bust that toyota doesn't recognize it, its not like it will heal on its own so i feel it should have been replaced under my warranty that i paid almost $1000.00 for when i purchased the car! i hope toyota will recall the visor issue for their customers. i am going to contact toyota directly on monday to see if i can get anywhere with this safety issue. *tr

The dashboard on my 2007 toyota camry is melting and is very sticky, especially during the summer months i have read several posts regarding this very same issue and notice that no one has had this issue corrected by toyota for free, obviously this is a vehicle manufacture defect that toyota needs to deal with before someone gets hurt. i purchased a toyota vehicle because of the reputation on quality & customer service, but until now i've not seen either of these. toyota needs to stand behind their product & make it right for all affected consumers. it is not possible to clean dashboard at all. everything sticks to it and if you touch it with your finger nail-sticky chunks come out..... the glare is awful and since both of my visors have broken off i cant use those to help...
A few inches of the front dashboard area nearest the front window melted and would get on the sunscreen and from there on to the front window. i spoke to the service person at my dealership and on the advice of his manager i sent an email to toyota. they only offered to pay for half of the replacement cost. i had the dashboard replaced and had to pay $688.70. *tr
I purchased this 2007 toyota camry from carmax in july 2013. following the purchase, i noticed the dashboard was sticky and thought maybe some type of detailing cleaner had been used on it. the dashboard is sticky because it is melting in the heat. the shiny, melting dashboard causes a glare on the front windshield affecting visibility. *tr
As i was driving east on a 4 lane highway the sun was hitting my dashboard and because of the melting condition of the dashboard there was a glare in front of me that impaired my vision. it forced me to make a left hand turn to get way from the glare. this dash board becomes so sticky in the heat that i cant display parking passes in the window because i won't be able to remove them. because of this i run the risk of being ticketed. a dashboard should not be in this condition. it is made of faulty material. *tr
During july, 2013, i noticed that the dashboard on my camry was sticky and looked grimy. i asked my husband if he could clean it for me. when we had the car serviced in august, 2013, we were given the telephone number for toyota to report my problem. it was not until a road trip this past summer, that we noticed how extremely difficult it was to drive at night the distraction from oncoming headlights hitting our glossy dashboard. was distracting and extremely dangerous. the glare of the dashboard on the front window from the sun during the day was as terrible. we could not see exit signs or traffic warning lights because of the constant glare and blinding reflection. after i saw a news investigation on nbc6 miami concerning my same problem, i realized that this situation is a growing concern for toyota owners and should be by toyota. my family has had toyotas since my mother's cressida in 1984. we have lived in miami since then and have always purchased toyotas; tercel, corolla-sr-5, 3 celicas, 3 corollas, etc. my 2007 camry has a manufacturer's defect toyota corporation has been using inferior materials it should always be liable for something that can cause serious consequences and injury we never had any such problem. i would like to become part of any class action concerning this situation. *tr
When i bought the car i didn't notice that the dash was so sticky. it is really bad like it is melting and if you touch it and your nail hits it. it takes a big chuck out of the dashboard so upset about this. i noticed alot of complaints so sad. it just looks terrible and dusty cause you can not touch it unless your hand sticks to it. *tr
White powder or dust blowing out of air vents of my heating vents in winter and ac vents in summer. due to that car also smell like dusty etc.. this problem is occurring since last summer, problem persist last summer, winter and now this summer. first time my kids (4 and 3 years old) was riding in my car to grocery store 3 miles from home, they had problem breathing and they are coughing, so i have open my all window, so kids can breathe. i am exhaling that white powder inside me, i am not sure what that powder is, and how it will effect my health in long term. i took my care to 3 different toyota dealerships and everyone said without open my car that this is known issue with this model. *tr
For the last year i have noticed the dashboard has been sticky. when the sun shines on it ,there is a glare which makes it hard to see. everything sticks to the dashboard. this is a problem and a hazard and we would like toyota to provide an acceptable solution. *tr
Melting dashboard. *tr
The dashboard in my 2007 toyota camry has started melting off, and under the sun's heat it becomes very soft, sticky and bright, and when the sun reflects on the dashboard it causes visibility/safety issues. also, i'm afraid the airbag under the dashboard may become affected if the dashboard cracks or breaks. *tr

My dashboard is sticky and melting. nothing can be put on it. the windshield protector so it doesn't get real hot inside got stuck to dashboard and not big hole in the dashboard. when i am driving sometimes the glare is so striking that it gives you a blindspot. this is very dangerous and i would like to know if you all are going to replace it. *tr
Dashboard of subject vehicle started displaying signs of a very sticky substance in the summer of 2013. i purchased this vehicle in dec. of 2010 with one previous owner .. signs of melting dashboard did not appear for several years past the warranty. internet search reveals that numerous toyota owners have experienced this same problem. after dealing with toyota directly, i was told they would provide a replacement dashboard but that i would have to pay $624 in labor. my position is that this is either a products liability, implied warranty of merchantability, or latent defect issue and has no bearing on an expired warranty. in addition, there may be a safety concern with deployment of the airbag due to deteriorating dashboard, not to mention the possibility of toxic fumes circulating throughout the vehicle. i firmly believe that toyota should issue a recall due to numerous similar complaints (see http://tsikot.com/forums/toyota-cars-talk-80/2008-camry-sticky-dashboard-89916/ also http://www.justanswer.com/toyota/70no2-toyota-camry-se-sticky-dashboard-2007 camry-how.html and http://www.howtomake.org/0pvgkmoneyls3w74/toyota-camry-sticky-dashboard.html). *tr

The entire dashboard of my 2007 toyota camry has become soft and sticky. there is a reflective glare coming off the dashboard closest to the windshield where the melted material has hardened. the glare of the shiny material makes it very difficult to drive in daylight. this hazard could result in an accident and should be addressed with tms. *tr

My 2007 toyota camry has developed a very soft and very sticky dashboard. at first i thought it was some sort of residue but the dashboard just kept getting worse. you can not touch it without leaving a mark on it, either a finger print or a nick from catching it with your fingernail. any and all dust particles stick to its surface and because of the extreme stickiness it can not be cleaned off. the glare from the sun is the most dangerous part! you can not see, even with visor down and sunglasses on! *tr

07 camry with a sticky/melting dashboard. causes glare during daylight driving. *tr
A "sticky" and cracking dashboard from florida heat causes a huge glare on the windshield. this makes visibility extremely limited while driving. i have not used any cleaning or polishing products on the dashboard. i am convinced it is just from high temperatures and humidity over time. after noticing the problem i tried to reduce direct sunlight on the dashboard by using windshield covers; however, the dash still remained "sticky" and the covers just simply stuck to the dash. the issue used to only occur when it was hot outside, but now the dash has been "melted" so much so that it has become glossy. which means even in cooler temperatures the dash reflects any sunlight and causes a glare on the windshield. again, this issue highly decreases visibility while driving. it is often difficult to perform the easiest maneuvers simply because you cannot see. i have even bought expensive polaroid sunglasses to somewhat reduce the glare, but visibility is still difficult. i am concerned about this issue, because it can easily cause an accident which could have been prevented. please let me know the best way to handle the situation. thank you for your help. *tr
Dash board is melting, sticky, needs replacement and creating a glare, which, in turn, causes a reflection that effects the driver from the glare. this has become a safety issue. *tr

Kumho tire. left front wheel. the tread separated and the treaded part broke causing extensive damage to the left fender, fender lining, left body panel below both doors, the front bumper, the left headlight electrical system and possibly other front end damage. driver did not hit anything on the freeway and was able to come to a safe stop without hitting anything else. this, and the other three tires on the car were purchased from discount tire on 08/04/2010, and they only have about 41,000 miles on them. *tr
