My car experiences a lag between the time when i press the gas pedal and when the car actually starts to move. the lag can last up to 2 seconds and presents a critical safety issue which has led to couple of near miss accidents in intersections and changing lanes. this feels like it would if your car stalled in the middle of the intersection and then the light changed or accelerate to change lanes while it tries to flow with the traffic. a technical service bulletin was issued for certain vin solaras which reflashed the ecu to a new program in an effort to reduce the lag but my car is not under this issue. i also find out that many of other solara owners said this was not an effective corrective action. toyota has no solution at this time and this puts my and others' safety at risk. *tr
Car was purchased new in wisconsin 2004. moved car to florida in 2009. car sits in garage for 6 months of the year. we arrived in florida in october 2012 and took the car out of garage. it sat in parking lot for one hour. we noticed the dashboard had a bright shine and was sticky. when you put it back in garage it goes back to normal. back out in the heat and sun it once again appears to be melting. very difficult to drive with the glare. took it to dealer to have it checked out. was told this was a problem but since the car was no longer under warranty there was nothing they could do. just recently heard on the news about others having this problem and was given this safercar.gov site to report this problem. as of this date the car continues to "melt" when outside and no help from dealer. *tr

My issues occurred 5 years ago, it was the first year toyota used the computerized acceleration in their cars. this information is important to the investigation being conducted by nasa. february 21, 2005 we purchased a brand new toyota solora by june we sold it. the car failed to accelerate on several occasions by not responding when i pushed the gas pedal. i realize this is the opposite end of the spectrum, but trust that it is relevant. please ensure nasa gets this information it will give them more to work with. i am writing you today because following a news broadcast about toyota my child asked me if i remembered our incident that almost cost us our lives in that car. i have placed this information in your hands to do the right thing with. vin# 4t1ca30p15uxxxxxx case numbers on file with toyota 200504110025 -april 11, 2005 200505090783 'may 9, 2005 200505120765 - may12, 2005 the issues were first handled at the dealership level where the vehicle was purchased, before i realized there was a serious safety issue with the vehicle. if you have any question i can be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
