While driving at a steady speed, the car (which is an automatic) went out of gear and slipped into neutral. as soon as i realized what had happened i jiggled the shifter (it was in d2) and the gear seemed to re-engage and i continued driving without any problem. this has happened a half dozen times.

Shift cable linkage rusted and broke off arm to transmission. vehicle would not come out of gear. part was replaced. old part is available. *ak

The sensor circuit malfunctioned. vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs on 6/5/2003. the direct clutch speed sensor has to be replaced. *ak
