Problems with 2016 RAM 1500 POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2016 RAM 1500 starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 29 327 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2016 RAM 1500

While driving home, i noticed some noise that ounde like a turbo noise and loos of power. i pulled over immediately shut off engine and poped hood. looke up and smoke from engine. opened hood and saw small fire on rear passenger side of engine by turbo housing. soon the truck was totally engulfed by flames.

I took my truck into a dealer because the exhaust system wouldn't clean itself. i found out there were recalls pertaining to this and they were handled as far as i knew. however, just a few weeks later as i was pulling into my driveway at home i noticed smoke barreling out from under the hood. i imediately tried to shut it off and when i did it would rev up higher instead of shutting off. i got it to shut off finally and left it sitting there overnight until i could get a tow truck to take it back to the dealership, where i was informed that this problem is now so common that the part is on back order and no idea of when they will be able to get it. now its 3 weeks later and i still haven't gotten my truck back.

In order to register my vehicle in california i was forced to accept the v08 emissions recall. after this recall, i have noticed substantial lag between depressing the accelerator and between when the vehicle accelerates. i was told there would be no change in performance by both the dealer and fca. i have almost been in two accidents now because i attempted to execute a left turn and even though i was depressing the accelerator, the vehicle sluggishly rolled through the intersection and then 2-3 seconds later, accelerated rapidly making it difficult to maintain lane integrity while navigating the turn. i generally drive fairly modestly which is why there have been only two life-threatening incidents in the past 3 or so months that i have had the "update". realistically though, this forced update has changed the nature of the truck and made it ultimately more dangerous to drive. all of this behavior began after the noted recall. i spoke with the dealership where the recall was performed, and was told that they have received this complaint from other drivers as well, and that while ram was aware of the problem, they had no remedy at this time. the date mentioned in the report is simply of the most recent of incidents that i mentioned.

After complying with the v08 (aem) software update due to the ram ecodiesel emissions update my driving experience/performance has changed dramatically. during acceleration their has been anywhere from 3-6 delay seconds before adequate power and speed can be felt. this is at a full stop such as a stop sin or red traffic light. during highway traffic (passing) or merging into a lane is were is most noticeable. this failure occurs even when engine is properly at operating temperature and is worse right after start up. since multiple people use their trucks for towing purposes, this greatly increases the effect and even further decreases the performance that is relied upon. the aem software update specifically states "the aem is not expected to change any of your key vehicle attributes, such as average fuel economy, reliability, durability, vehicle performance, drivability, engine noise or vibration, or other driving characteristics." this directly contradicts the class action lawsuit remedy requirements. due to the failed instant acceleration as well as taking up to 3500 rpm before forward movement can be established in some instances has led me to formally create and record a safety concern that requires immediate attention. failure to do so puts owners of 2014-2016 ram 1500's that are affected by the aem update at risk, not only to ourselves but to the other drivers around us. before this update was conducted there were no engine/transmission/propulsion related issues whatsoever. lastly as another effect but less important is the obvious decrease in and loss in mpg. please hold fca accountable and have them address this issue before lives are fatally affected.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, it rolled out of park with the gear in the park position. the contact tested the vehicle several times to see if the gear was in park and the vehicle rolled with the gear in the park position. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer was not notified. the manufacturer was contacted. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 32,000.

2 major issues: a- since vehicle got computer system updated for the emissions lawsuit - vehicle has lost 70% power at take off. meaning, i currently have a very high risk of getting t-boned at intersections because the vehicle doesn't take off. i currently have a claim open with chrysler but their case manager claims that parts to fix the issue is currently not available. this emission update was done back in june 2019. b- vehicle started to overheat and create very high coolant smell inside the cabin. this happened when the vehicle was in motion driven at approximately 45mph, if the vehicle sits idling you can't tell the problem, only when driven. i had vehicle towed to dealership and admitted on 10/31/2019. after 63 days at the dealer and so much back and forth with chrysler case managers and supervisors "this people is extremely useless and should not be assigned to handle cases sensitive like this one!" on 01/03/2020 "63 days after check in date" the truck was release from the dealer with absolutely no repairs made. the vehicle that is currently overheating with very high risk of getting caught on fire has been released to me so i can take my kids to schools and and my life and other at danger. this is terrifying! makes me think that chrysler wants to deal with much more costly issues when the worst happens!

Transmission shifts very abruptly, sometimes violently, while driving. there is also a jolt when coming to a complete stop, during the transmission shift from 2nd to 1st gear.

I own a 2016 ecodiesel ram 1500, and ever since i completed the required engine software update mandated by fca due to the class action lawsuit, i have noticed a significant delay in acceleration during conditions where the engine is not fully warmed up and sometime at normal conditions when the vehicle is pulling from a stop through an intersection. these delays can be as long as 3 to 5 seconds!! this posses a huge risk to the drive, his occupants, and other drivers as well. the eco diesel community was promised that this software update would not impede fuel economy, engine performance, engine noise, and many other things as well. yet here we are my self and many others having to think twice every time we pull through an intersection, or a drive way, or turn on a curved road where the oncoming traffic is impossible to see, hoping that this is not the time we are impaled by on coming traffic due to the lack of engine performance of our own vehicle. this is an issue fca needs to get out in front of before human life is lost. its not a matter of if but a matter of when, this issue needs to be addressed and its needs to be done quickly!!

I own a 2016 ecodiesel ram 1500, and ever since i completed the required software update on my vehicle due to the class action lawsuit i have noticed a drastic decrease in the amount of acceleration my vehicle has under conditions where the vehicle is not fully warmed up and occasionally under normal driving conditions as well. there are times the vehicle will take 3 to 5 entire seconds to finally start accelerating and when trying to merge into heavy traffic or at intersections this is extremely dangerous! i need to be able to trust the my vehicle will respond in the manner i need it to while traveling highway and local. i become a hazard to other drives as well as to myself and my occupants. the ecodiesel owners community was promised that this software update would not impede fuel economy, engine performance, engine noise, and many other things, yet myself and what appears to be many others are suffering from what can only be classified as a ticking time bomb. when one or multiple lives are lost, will it then be a large enough issue to correct? i cant fear every single intersection and curved road i come across because i am afraid that my engine will respond sluggish and delayed. this is an issue that fca needs to address and quickly!

After recall for the diesel engine emissions class action lawsuit, the truck is very sluggish when cold, sometimes takings 3-5 seconds to respond to throttle input. fuel economy reduced. truck feels lazy until it warms up completely. even then, it isn't as responsive as it was before the software flash.

Extreme lag on acceleration from a dead stop. extreme lag on freeway while trying to pass or merge. post the aem emissions recall.

This 2016 3.0l eco diesel is a death trap after fca reprogramed the software 2 months ago. 2-4 second hesitation when you press on the gas. the truck just sits there and does not move. in two months i have had 3 close calls pulling into traffic. extremely scary when you hit the gas and nothing happens and a car is coming down the highway at you at 55 mph and you're seconds from getting t-boned. it's just a matter of time before people start dying in this death trap. the diesel had many problems before they reprogramed it. since new the truck has gone into limp mode 4 times where the engine lights come on and the motor shuts down to about 10 mpg. last time i almost got killed on the freeway when this happened. you're stuck on the highway going 5-10 mph trying to get off the highway when cars are flying past you at 70 mph. these 3.0l dodge eco diesels are very, very, very dangerous to drive. after the reprograming from fca they have a very dangerous turbo lag time. fca has done nothing to address the problem. the reprograming of the software made them worse and more dangerous. because of the way they designed this eco diesel, it is prone to catch fire. on my truck i had a fire under the hood and a hole melted through the intake manifold. luckily, the truck did not burst into flames but it was in the dealership for almost 3 weeks being repaired. this truck is very dangerous and the truck needs to be recalled and if fca can't fix them, they need to buy them back and get these death traps off the road. sorry, i can't describe just a single specific instance, it's dangerous every time you get behind the wheel. i would like to meet with the president of fca and have him take my truck for a drive with his family in it and then give his opinion as to the quality of this engine. i do not allow my wife to drive this truck as it's a death trap.

V08 recall flash has made my truck more dangerous to drive. there is an extreme amount of lag from the engine and turbo while trying to accelerate. i am the second owner, bought on 7/24/19 and the truck has been in the shop twice already!

Driving home from work 22 august 2019, an 8 mile drive. i went to accelerate to reach posted speed limit after turning off of a side street onto main road. i had no forward momentum when i depressed the accelerator pedal. i attempted several times to manually shift gears thinking it was a transmission issue. the engine would rev up to rpm but still barely any forward momentum. i was losing speed quickly. something grabbed my attention, not sure if i heard something out of the ordinary but i happened to look out my review and side mirrors and notice a huge plume of smoke exiting my vehicle. at about that same moment, i noticed a low oil pressure light from the instrument cluster. i immediately pulled into a driveway and shut the vehicle off. once the vehicle was off, i still noticed a large amount of white smoke billowing from under the hood and front wheel wells. at first i thought it to be a coolant hose rupture due to the color of the smoke/steam. i immediately jumped out and opened the hood thinking it was a coolant issue. right away i noticed a flame at the rear of the engine. i had no access to water where i was located and my only option was to blow it out. it worked for me but probably only because i had got to the fire before it was able to spread too quick. fire/rescue was dispatched, removed engine cover and noticed smoldering plastic/wire harness and doused with 4-5 cups of water until all traces of fire were gone. tow truck delivered vehicle to dealership approx 10 miles from where vehicle was disabled. *dt *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. while driving various speeds, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but it failed to engage without warning. the vehicle was taken to chuck patterson dodge (257 east ave, chico, ca 95926, (530) 895-1771) for a routine inspection and an emission modification for the ecm. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to file a complaint with nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Dangerous lag in throttle response in emergency situations.. delay in throttle response is greater than 4 seconds in all attemps at acceleration.

Since an emissions recall my truck has had a dangerous amount of dead pedal lag when. first starting to drive. the first 5-10 minutes of every drive create a dangerous situation where i am consistently worried about causing an accident because my truck does not operate like a normal vehicle, or as it did before the recall happened.

I own a 2016 ram 1500 eco diesel. i recently got a recall (v08 i believe) that greatly effected the throttle response and fuel mileage on my truck. i love on a bend on a state highway and it has become very dangerous for me to pull out of my driveway. when i press the throttle there is a good 5 second delay before the truck accelerates. this is a known problem as fca has notified dealers that they are aware of the issue. i know this because i took my truck back to the dealer to address these issues and that is the response they gave me. when i purchased this truck there were no acceleration issues and the fuel mileage was 4-5mpg greater before this computer update. please facilitate a fix for this before i get hit leaving my house or turning onto any street.

After an emissions recall was performed on eco diesel engine (ecm update) the engine has become terribly sluggish on initial takeoff. i can push the gas petal to the floor and nothing happens for several seconds. i feel that this is a safety concern because there is inconsistent engine performance that could cause an accident.

When depressing the accelerator pedal from a dead stop the vehicle has an extremely slow response time. after a few seconds the vehicle lurches forward and accelerates. this was not an issue until after the emissions recall was conducted on the vehicle. this is a clear safety issue as the vehicle will not accelerate properly with the engine coolant under 150 degrees f. after the temp reaches 150 degrees f the issue seems to subside and go away.

Very poor acceleration when cold or warm. significant drop in power and fuel mileage. all of these things happened after the v08 update

I had the aem (approved emissions modification) done on my 2016 ram 1500 3.0 ecodiesel on 07/02/2019. when i picked up the truck i asked if there were any issues with anyone that has had this performed. i was told by the tech he has not aware of any issues with this being done and the only thing he has heard is an improvement of mpg. well i have had the truck for 2 days now and i've noticed a decrease of almost 2 mpg which i kind of expected unlike his claim of improved mpg. my complaint is that now when taking off from a stop it takes almost 7 seconds for throttle response. this is a major safety issue in my opinion! i have been driving this truck for almost 3 years now and have never had single problem. i understand the whole turbo diesel has a little bit of lag time for the turbo to spool up but now it takes almost 7 seconds to get response of throttle!! i have almost been hit 3 times now when taking off from a stop. this in my opinion is unacceptable!!! like i said before i understand there is lag in a turbo diesel but 7 seconds! when you push the accelerator and the vehicle doesnt respond that is a huge safety concern to me. i wish i had never had this performed now because i have been thoroughly impressed with this vehicle in every aspect until now. i feel that owners should be at least given some type of heads up to this situation because before long this is going to start causing people to wreck. when you drive a vehicle you get used to the way it drives. this has completely changed how this truck responds and not in a good way. its like a whole different vehicle now. i am very concerned about this!

Aem reflash as required by the fca emissions recall #v08 has caused the truck to accelerate very slowly, causing numerous near misses when crossing and turning past oncoming traffic. dealership reports all recalled customers are reporting the same issues.

After a recall to update emissions software, the truck experiences unpredictable and inconsistent throttle response. this happens about once per week, when the engine is at full operating temp. the accelerator pedal is pressed, but the engine does not accelerate for 4 seconds. this results in the truck creeping out into traffic but not accelerating as desired. i am not comfortable with my wife and kids in this truck because of this issue. i contacted my local fca dealership. they scanned for trouble codes, but found nothing. they said they would look into the issue, but i have not heard back about this.

Emission recall(ecm reprogram) vehicle now has a severe unpredictable lack of throttle response since recall was performed, fca nor dealer has any idea when this will be fixed. when pulling out into traffic at higher ambient temps, the vehicle often fails to respond to the throttle until about 3/4 throttle. then it suddenly responds as if it is at full throttle. this will cause some serious accidents

After receiving the emissions recall update v08 on my ram ecodiesel it now has a lag when pressing the gas pedal that has nearly resulted in me being hit by other drivers because the truck will not accelerate properly. this is most noticeable when at a stop and making a left hand turn.

After aem emission control systems update the truck at 57,920 has poor acceleration from a start. it doesn't get out of its on way. mileage dropped 4 mpg. has poor acceleration up hills. this update claimed to not alter the way the vehicle drives and that is not the case. this is not the truck that i originally bought. i have been almost hit several times pulling out into traffic because of the poor acceleration from a stop "turbo lag" this is a safety hazard.

After having the aem recall done truck has lack of power. when accelerating from stop truck does not take off right away. gets a little better when warmed up but still very sluggish.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the accelerator pedal was applied; however, the vehicle failed to move. afterwards, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated without warning. the vehicle was taken to carson dodge chrysler jeep ram (3059 s carson st, carson city, nv 89701, (775) 883-2020) where it was determined that the vehicle was working as designed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the failure mileage was 32,235.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ram 1500. in may of 2019, the vehicle was repaired per technical service bulletin number: 10121879 (power train) by crown chrysler jeep ram (6350 perimeter loop rd, dublin, oh 43017). after the repair, the vehicle would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed and then lunged forward. the contact also stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated at least twelve times. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and repaired approximately six times, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 48,484. *bf the consumer stated the recall was completed on the vehicle but there was still a long lag in acceleration. *tr

I own a 2016 dodge ram eco diesel that was forced to have the epa update completed as part of the class action settlement. since the update was completed i have been having issues with inconsistent power and acceleration. the problem is intermittent and has almost resulted in collisions on several occasions. this issue is especially dangerous when making left hand turns across traffic and the truck decides to delay 2-3 seconds in the acceleration process. i have contacted the dealer as well as the manufacturer and have been met with stone walking bug both of them. i have complained several times but they refuse to even take the truck in for diagnostics sitting the lack of engine trouble codes. the manufacturer angrily refers me to the department that is handling the settlement and states that the epa is making them do this and there is nothing they can do. when i try reaching out to the department handling the recall/settlement it is met with unreachable agents and an endless loop on a phone system. at this point i fearful to drive the truck and especially transport my child in it. i am at a wits end and am asking for involvement from your organization. my name is [xxx] and can be reached at [xxx] for any additional information. thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

After an emissions update was made to my vehicle without my permission on june 4, 2019, the throttle is unresponsive, the diesel exhaust regenertion system no longer functions and my fue economy has dropped over 10 mpg. it is out-of-service and undriveable. it has been at the dealership 4 times over the last 4 months, and has been there since august 1, 2019. i am being told there is no fix.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. when the engine was started, the vehicle failed to accelerate in a timely manner when the accelerator pedal was depressed. also, the vehicle did not accelerate immediately in traffic. the vehicle was taken to mclarty daniel chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat (3709 south thompson street, springdale, arkansas 72764, (479)-751-4563) for a manufacturer's emission recall. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 22,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. while driving at unknown speeds, the accelerator pedal was applied and the vehicle hesitated to move and then spontaneously accelerated. additionally, the vehicle shifted roughly. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to south county of sealy chrysler dodge jeep ram (3704 ne i-10 frontage rd, sealy, tx 77474, (979) 885-3400), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 49,600.

After having the emission recall competed on my 2016 ram 1500 ecodiesel i am experiencing major power loss in certain operating conditions. this condition includes reduced throttle response when accelerating from a stop after cold starting. i will start my truck and drive 2 block to a 50 mph highway. after stopping at the stop sign i will accelerate across the lanes of the highway. since this recall there is significant lag in the throttle leading to traffic having to slow down because i'm not accelerating. i can push the throttle to the floor and there is very little rpm increase. i'm basically idling forward into 50 mph traffic without being able to accelerate. i have taken my truck to two different dealers and after consulting with fca they have come back and told me this is the new normal for my truck. the second dealer has even stated they are able to recreate the issue and after submitting their findings to fca they were told to inform me that this is normal. this limited throttle response is especially concerning given the speed of the road i live off of and the fact that fca considers this normal. this issue happens after every cold start and there is a larger lag if the air conditioner is on. this throttle lag only started occurring after the recall was performed on 5/30/2019 and had occurred regularly since.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall regarding the emissions. after the emissions repair, the vehicle failed to accelerate occasionally. the contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate and become sluggish and sputter after the accelerator pedal was depressed. mojave auto group (631 main st, barstow, ca 92311, (760) 256-3502) tested the vehicle, but could not replicate the failure. the service manager participated in a ride along and the failure was finally replicated; however, the diagnostic machine showed no codes. the contact stated that the vehicle had a lifetime power train warranty, but the emission repair had to be performed in order to honor the warranty. the contact stated that he could have opted out of the emission repair, which he felt caused the failure. the manufacturer stated that they could not remedy the failure because nhtsa issued a nationwide recall. the failure mileage was 75,000.

Received a recall to install aem computer update. since the update i have been experiencing acceleration delays from a stop there is a 3-5 sec delay in acceleration. this is a safety hazard trying to merge i had to pull to the side of the road a # of times to avoid a rear end accident. in addition my gas mileage has also been decreased from an average of 18-20 mpg down to 14-16 mpg. this problem after the aem update must be correct quickly as driving the vehicle has become dangerous.

My vehicle was part of a recent ecodiesel settlement that required a recall and re-flash of the vehicles ecm. fca stated that the recall re-flash would not affect the vehicles performance. that is not the cash. my vehicle now has a severe throttle hesitation when starting from a stop. pulling into or merging into existing traffic has become extremely dangerous. i have been experiencing this condition since the recall was completed.

Received the v08 recall update. was told this update would not affect the performance, drivability, efficiency nor safety of the vehicle. this is completely untrue!! the vehicle performance is plagued with dangerous delays in acceleration, poor shifting to the point of being a significant life-safety issue!! from a stopped position, stepping on the gas will produce a 2-3 second delay. this is especially dangerous when pulling out into traffic - severe risk of being broad-sided or rear-ended! gear shifts are out of sync and do not provide sufficient performance to avoid accidents from a stopped (i.e. intersection) or moving (i.e. passing at freeway speeds) motion. too many close-calls with potentially dangerous/fatal accidents due to significantly modified and hindered recall update!! these issues are well-documented online and consistent with other vehicle owners whom have had this recall update. it needs to be corrected immediately before before people start to get seriously hurt and/or die!!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. the contact turned their vehicle on and attempted to reverse from their parking space, however the vehicle hesitated to reverse. the contact mentioned that there was a trailer attached to the rear of the vehicle which made it difficult to reverse. the "r' for reverse illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact called atlantic dodge (555 sunrise hwy, west islip, ny 11795 (631) 422-01230) where the mechanics stated that they where unfamiliar with the failure expereinced. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 72,031.

Around 2-3 thousand rpm my 2016 dodge ram 1500 tradesman with 23,000 miles get this horrible vibration that seems to originate from the transmission area of the vehicle. this vibration feels like it could be the driveshaft or transmission. doesn't matter how fast i'm going, as soon as i let off the gas and the truck begins to downshift i start feeling the vibration once i press the gas to accelerate again it's feels like the whole bottom of the truck is vibrating brought the gas pedal as if i'm riding on a rumble strip. i literally have to almost floor it for the vibration to go away.

Sometime when switch transmission control to reverse and drive and park it seems to go into neutral and will roll back or forward i have to turn the knob back and forth a few time then seems to go into place not sure if that has anything to do with that recall for rollaway or not nhtsa17v821000. i've been setting my enrage ever time i park due to worry about that. and i am stationary when this happens.usually parking or when i try to leave from being parked or also when trying to to from drive to reverse. other than that truck seems to run and drive properly.

Hard shifts from gear 1 to gear 2 and delayed shifting from from 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. when coming to a complete stop the car will jolt forward and at times you feel as though you were hit from behind or that you are going to hit the car in front of you due to the aggressive jolt of the transmission down shift.

Transmission shifting knob periodically will not allow vehicle to obtain a gear and moving the vehicle is impossible until multiple attempts to engage a forward or reverse gear is successful. this has occurred a number of time and the last time i was making a u turn on a narrow dirt road when in the middle of the road i could not obtain any gear. another vehicle approached at a high rate of speed and fortunately was able to stop before a collision occurred. note. this problem did not occur until a recall 'auto park functionality'was completed on 11/29/18

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. after the contact parked and exited the vehicle, it started to roll forward. the vehicle struck the contact and crashed into the side of a building. a police report was filed. there were no injuries. carolina chrysler dodge jeep ram (891 us-1, lugoff, sc 29078, (803) 438-9160) was called and stated that there were no recalls. the contact scheduled a diagnostic appointment for next week. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 53,000.

Total engine failure. chrysler in process of replacing engine that was repaired at 1oi miles for the same problem. transmission has stuck in either 3rd or 5th gear and would not downshift or upshift - second time the transmission has done this. have a video proving shifting faults. in both instances, the vehicle was either idling or in motion for the engine failures and was in motion in both instances when with the transmission failure. several dealer recalls have been made on the vehicle that did not involve either of the above. window clips have been replaced for driver side front window several times because they either break or come off and have to be repaired with new clips each time. if they are not replaced, there is a risk that the window will crash inside the door if attempt is made to roll down or roll up the power window. vehicle is currently in the dealership shop for engine replacement; documentation is not yet available for this instance but can be provided when it becomes available.

I have a 2016 ram 1500, crew cab, 4x4 with 20k miles. i bought it brand new and have it serviced at the dealership i bought it from. for about the past 4 weeks, i have noticed a hard downshift when approaching a stop light or stop sign in my 2016 ram 1500. i have brought it in to my purchasing chrysler dealership and this is what they have been told. 'fca engineering is aware of a 2nd-1st downshift bump concern and is gathering information on the shifting concern. for now, they have deemed this shift as an operating characteristic.' to have a vehicle 3 years old and 20k miles, and saying i have to accept this transmission issue is unacceptable. if this is how it is going to be, fca will not be getting any more of my business.

Truck rolled away while in driveway while in park with e-brake on.

Our truck was in park with the brake on on our driveway which is a hill and it rolled backwards t2 different times without anybody in it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ram 1500. the contact stated while the transmission was in the drive and reverse positions, the vehicle would erroneously drive while the doors were open. the vehicle was serviced in 2018 under an unknown nhtsa campaign number to prevent the failure from occurring. the cause of the failure was not determined. the local dealer mountain view dodge (7154 nashville st. ringo ga) and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. the failure mileage was 41,000.
