Problems with 2014 RAM 1500 UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2014 RAM 1500

Was told the exhaust manifold bolt/studs warped and snapped and the exhaust manifold is warped, this happened on the driver side first but was covered under warranty but now happening on driver side out of warranty. was told my dealership they see this often and was told fca has fixed the problem in newer years by using stronger material in the bolts. this informs me that fca knows of the problem but the dealers won't cover it as a design defect. clearly there is a design defect with the exhaust manifold bolts as they should not be doing this and manufactures are suppose to account for these parts to see extreme temp changes. this has happened now twice to me but because i am no longer under warranty they won't fix the problem. the fist time was before 60,000 miles and now the other side is happening at 76,000 miles. to summarize the problem is warped exhaust manifold bolts and the manifold itself.

My 2014 dodge ram blows a powder out of the vents. i was driving down i5 doing about 60 mph and my heater kicked on blowing a white powder from the vents into my eyes. i was temporarily blinded and almost lost control of my truck. i was able to squint out of 1 eye and get pulled over safely to the side of the road. i believe my contacts saved my eyes. as the evaporator starts breaking down it allows a powder to form that can blow in your face. dodge should have something installed in front of the evaporator that would prevent this from happening.

While driving at interstate speeds for approximately 130 miles (2.5 hours), vehicle sputtered and lost power, it stabilized at~40 mph. a check engine light and red lighting bolt displayed. we exited the interstate and made course to a dealership utilizing smaller hwys. en-route to the repair shop, at about 40 mph, vehicle started emitting smoke to include inside the cabin. stopped the vehicle and evacuated all 4 people inside. flames and heavy smoke soon became visible as we watched from afar. large flames grew and quickly engulfed the whole vehicle. fire department arrived and put out the fire.

Noticed a small loss of radiator fluid, no visible leak, but did receive letter relating to a diesel egr cooler defect. now am concerned about steam leaking into my engine oil and thus contaminating the engine oil with damaging effects on the engine internal parts. egr valve should also be evaluated as it directly effects egr cooler.

Horn no longer works, by pushing it or with key fob locking when locking my truck. i've read that this has happen on multiple ram 1500s. my just stop when exiting my truck and i notice i didnt get any beep when trying to secure my truck. checked every fuse, relay, even took it to the dealership i purchased it from. only had the truck for 4 weeks and they told me i would have to pay $600. this is a safety issue and i shouldn't be responsible for a horn not beeping..

Bought truck 4 months ago, has been broke down now as of today 5 times. this truck has lost fuel mileage, power, and has almost cost lives, when you push on the gas, nothing, after a few seconds it will go, this is extremely dangerous, i have been in front of a semi moving wind turbines and almost killed, this truck has been towed several times, in the shop broke down all after recall, this truck will cost lives, i have tried contacting several people, i get nothing, my next move is going to show videos and updated incidents, and information on all steps, last response was my case has been closed, people need to know the action taken on this and the lives affected. the most recent action was a couple weeks ago, i am a pilot escort for ge wind industry, i was needed to stop traffic to keep public safe, when i'm needed to jump into action this truck fails, i need a replacement immediately, i was almost driven right into my driver side door by a 138 thousand pond tower section due to lag time, this truck is powerless, after recall my mileage went from the upper 30's to teens, it's been in shop every month i have owned it, currently waiting on a cooling system, on back order, i have owned this truck for 5 months, i have lost over 1000,000 in revenue, almost killed and killing others, i am losing my business now, i'm in succ a hole nothing will help me unless this truck is replaced immediately, this truck is extremely dangerous, i have nothing left, i need a truck that will simply work, i need to rebuild

Vehicle stalls randomly vehicle stalls randomly while driving. dealer can't find issue. vehicle just shuts off which in my opinion makes it unsafe. dealer had a 'oh well good luck, trade it in and hope it doesn't stall' attitude.

The dail shifter on our truck both directions reverse and forward will not go. we have to shut the truck off and do this a few time to reset the computer to be able to move the truck. took this in to get fixed and they said they can't find the problem on a meter and we took extra insurance for this kind of problem. i would like some answers before we are stuck in 114-degree weather. at all different time when you try to drive night, day, stop sign, stoplight. it's happening often can't add that on when did this happen? aug 30th was the last time!

Accelerator when pushed down to to pass another car will stick to full throttle and not release. this is a very dangerous situation, could cause lost of life, due to the truck would reach top speed and not be able to stop it. my son reach over and put truck in neutral and l rolled to a stop. i was driving on a six lane road in town where speed limit is 45 mph. i feel there should be a recall on this problem or research done on it. not sure what speed my truck went to, i was trying not to hit another car.

I had the emissions recall/repair for the ecodiesel engines per the class action lawsuit between the epa and fca. fca claims that it would not effect power or gas mileage. my truck now has a significant lag from a stop as well as from 10 mph to about 20mph when one hits the gas and tries to accelerate. this decrease in power makes this vehicle dangerous especially when trying to pull on to a street that has oncoming traffic.

Was advised to take truck in for recall reflash due to eco diesel settlement package. after recall fix was conducted, engine sluggish, shifting not smooth and miles per gallon dropped significantly. all this after a trip of 8 hours at legal speed limits.

Was traveling down i485 in charlotte nc. going to beach. an all of a sudden the truck has no power. i have no pedal it is gone . had to get it off the side of the road an stopped with white smoke coming out the tail pipes . it was the fuel pump. that time . nexted time it was the edge valve an sencer . had no pick up an go . every since the v08 tune this truck has bad lag lag u can not sure when u r pulling out of an interception if u will get out safe . the lag is terrible . i loved this truck untill the tune . but now cant trust it . got ot to pull camper but dont trust it now will not own another ram eco or any thing else .

My vehicle has tremendous lag when trying to accelerate, but it is not all the time. i never know when pulling out into a road at a left hand turn if i am going to get throttle response or a dead petal. too many times not i have been stuck with tremendous lag and almost rear ended by vehicles while turning onto a road. this was never an issue until a forced "fix" for a recall on the ecodiesel engine. upon initial acceleration sometimes there is a 1-2 second lag before the vehicle even seems to accelerate at all. my mile per gallon has dropped several points and def is being over consumed. i do not know when the truck will accelerate or just lag out on me. i do not know if this is a motor or transmission or none of the above issue. i do know that many people with the "aem fix" for the recalled rams is having the same issues. this vehicle does not seem safe to drive to to its unpredictability with acceleration. from a cold start, the vehicle is extremely sluggish for several minutes or miles, and that is in the warm ca sun.... i am waiting for the vehicle to not work at all. this has been ongoing for several months since having the vehicle "fixed"

I had 2 more recall notices sent to our house in regards to this vehicle. i was unable to get the recalls done between the date they arrived here and the first of this year due to some health issues. since recovering from the issues i got on this site to see what exactly the recalls were and now nothing pops up when i enter the vin #. i called the dealer as well and asked and was told there is no recall at this time. i find this funny since ive gone to oither sites and looked up recalls and this vehicle has a history of 12 recalls. i as well know that not all of the recalls have been addressed.

Takata recall. when my 2014 ram 1500 is stationary, moving, or just turned the car on. my touch screen goes black, freezes, and i cannot controll the heat or a.c, fan speed, volume to the radio, radio, heated seats, any electronic buttons on my steering wheel or any of the buttons that are connected to my screen/radio. my daughter's boy friend just purchased the same year turck i did and he started having the same problems with his screen.

Last night i parked my truck in my driveway like i been doing since i had the truck which i bought new and last night i parked like i usually do and this morning i was informed that my truck has rolled out out the spot where i left it to the edge of the street while still in park. it could have backed into another vehicle or even worse a kid

The heat is only working on the passenger side of my truck and it's only 5 year old why am just now having this problem every thing is working properly but the heat

The truck was running and sitting still i was in a line of cars. i put the truck in drive from park and it started going in reverse while the engine is revving i had to use both feet on the brake pedal to get it stopped and it continued to try and go in reverse. i finally got the truck in park and let the engine stop revving. i then tried to put it in drive and couldn't get it to shift. had to turn the engine off and back on again to get it to go in drive. it is unknown what caused this and i do not know what the cause could have been. it was a very unsafe situation since there was a car in front and a car behind the truck when this happened. there was no accident thankfully. there have been multiple issues with this truck as far as lights coming on and off when it is setting in the driveway no keys in it and no one touching it. it will honk and the doors will lock and unlock really fast again with no one near it and the keys hanging up. the truck has been to multiple dealerships and no one can find anything wrong with it. it has had all 12 recalls fixed.

2014 ram 1500 laramie ecodiesel throwing fault code p203e reductant level sensor circuit intermittent/erratic. this fault is caused by crystallized diesel exhuast fluid (def) on the integrated sensor in the def tank. the sensor is unable to detect the amount of fluid in tank and will shut down engine after 500 miles if the tank is not replaced. i do believe after extensive research this is a manufacturing defect. there are two different recalls for this fault which are: number: 18-038-15 rev. b and number: 25-001-15 rev a. the first one covers a pcm flash for the 2015 ram and 2014 jeep grand cherokee. in the notes it says that this is for all 3 liter 8 speed transmissions. which should also include a 2014 ram ecodiesel. the second one if for 2014-15 ram 2500,3500+ with 6.7l diesel engines. the issue i have with that is my vehicle is having that exact issue and needs the same services but it has a 3 liter engine.

My def gauge is not working. the def tank is full but the gauge says my truck will not restart in 100 miles. i have taken to the dealer and it will cost over $3500 to fix this. this is the second time my def system has not worked on this truck and i have had to have it replaced.

The assist handle has a leak when rains hard. removed to see where it is leaking and there is an airbag there. it also leaks all over the floor that can eventually lead to structural issues

I had my truck at the dealer for a recall, i noticed my seatbelt wasn't locking when i pulled on the shoulder strap. i asked them to look into this when my vehicle was there. they did, said the seatbelt was defective, but chrysler was not going to cover this. after further review none of my seatbelt shoulder straps lock when you pull on them fast. i have a crew cab truck so that is 5 seatbelts with shoulder straps. my dealership was on the phone with chrysler for over an hour trying to get them to cover this safety defect, they just kept saying no, truck is out of warranty. after reading all these complaints, will my airbags deploy if i'm in an accident? i don't know and hope i don't have to find out the hard way. this happens all the time driving or standing still. the dealership told me the seatbelts are defective. this should be addressed asap, no one should have to pay for a safety issue.

Dpf/def systems causing engine failure. leveling sensor inside of the d.e.f tank isn't reponding and causing truck to run bad and causing truck to go into limp mode. and there should be a recall on the dpf system

Driving to work 5/7/18 truck was running fine with no cel's, alarms, warnings or anything out of the ordinary just a normal drive as usual and this is my daily driver. i approached the intersection to turn right came to a stop there was no oncoming traffic so accelerated to turn onto highway feeder when i heard a weird sound and felt the truck decelerate. i pushed the pedal a little harder and noticed no change in speed rpms were dropping as well as boost gauge i looked in the mirror and saw a trail of smoke and began making my way to the shoulder of the road. while making my way to the shoulder smoke began coming into the cab of the truck and the engine died, i put the truck in park and popped the hood latch when i opened the hood there was a small fire on the back of the motor on the passenger side near the egr and turbo. immediately closed the hood grabbed a bottle of water from the cab opened the hood and extinguished the flame. truck was towed to local dealership who began looking at the truck and said it appeared the egr got hot or there was a short in the wiring system. i contacted ram to verify my 5y/100,000m warranty as well as the extended warranty that i purchased they then turned me over to fiat-chrysler who said they were assigning a special investigator to look at the truck and has ordered the dealership to stop all work until investigation is complete which could take 4 weeks. fiat-chrysler is also refusing to provide a loaner or rental even though they are the ones who wanted to assign a special investigator. dealership was far enough along in teardown before fiat-chrysler stopped work that i was able to obtain the following pictures with the plastic cover removing showing the melted and burned wiring harness up against the egr and manifold.

I have a 2014 ram 1500 slt 4wd cc i bought it about 6 months ago. about a week ago my friend and i were about to take a drive and when i started it my friend whom is a mechanic said you either have an engine knock or an exhaust leek. well i checked it out at the dealer and well the exhaust leak was due to a broken bolt in the manifold and then the dealer calls me and says you have a lifter taping they said the extended warranty would fix it but i have seen a couple of videos and forums and this really needs to be a recall on both im not the only one whom has had this problem i love my truck but if you spend the kind of money that we ram owners have this problem should be covered ive been treated wonderful by the dealer but this is something that needs to be recodnised by chrysler and fixed by chrysler ive only put 20000 miles on it it only has 82000 total this should not be a problem yet if at all i treat my truck like a part of the family it gets serviced regularly my truck should not be having these kind of issues please help do something about these problems someone needs to

Truck took brief periods where it would just suddenly die going down the road, then the last time running about 60 mph, it died not far from home and smoke billowed out from under the hood wafting its way inside the cab...son-in-law fought the steering and managed to bring it to a stop on the shoulder of the road...with my granddaughters in the back seat....they were almost overcome by this black obnoxious smoke and both suffered for the longest time a harsh, dry cough...i noticed there are limited recalls on this model of truck and none seem to be related to electrical fires under the hood...how ever these vehicles are unsafe and pose a significant hazard to all the motoring public...they should be recalled and all of them destroyed to protect the public and the passengers...dealership sated the 'brain box and starter burned up' and is not a warranty issue...but the health and well being of my grandchildren are far more important than chrysler's profit margin.

Ram started dying in december 2017 while driving at hwy speed. all electric power remained, no check engine light illuminated. on or about 1 january 2018, engine shut down at highway speed and check engine light illuminated. that day, the engine surged 2 times without dying. dealer verified a u1424 trouble code recorded 3 times. dealer had the ram for about 1 week and could not make it duplicate, but indicated they were going to change the crankshaft senor. they did not do the repair. dealer cleared the code and i retrieved it. the ram continued to die, but has not presented a trouble code. i filed a complaint with dodge/ram (case#33123585) to which they recently determined that until the ram cannot move under its own power, there is nothing they can do, despite the serious safety issue. since december, the ram has now died approximately 7 times and surged more times than i remember. the first time i was pulled into the ditch as i tried to get off the highway. 3 times, i've narrowly missed being rear-ended after the ram died twice while navigating through a traffic light and once while turning at an intersection. this morning it again died as i was slowing down to navigate a traffic light. i didn't realize it died until i tried to accelerate. by that time, i barely had enough momentum to pull to the side of the road. the vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes and swerve to keep from rear-ending me. that individual confronted me in a very hostile manner, but i diffused the situation when i explained what had happened. the attitude of dodge/ram is very concerning as their "policy" outweighs the safety of me, my family and others on the road. there are many complaints about this very issue, but ram states they've never dealt with the issue. i have photos on my cellphone of the instrument panel when the ram dies. i don't have access to the communications with ram

As previous recall on same model of trucks, the leak issue on the rear window or third brake is still present due to the sealant wearing off and not stopping rain from entering the cab and ruining upholstery , and eventually promoting rust from inside the cab. the vehicle can be stationary or in motion

2 mounting bolts have broken off in my manifold. they are broke off inside the manifold.

Rference multiple reports forwarded to your office surrounding ram's air-ride suspension systems'. these major concerns were first reported in early 2017 after returning to alaska. an official letter was sent to the fca group-italy, fca ceo, & their board of directors surrounding these life threatening incidents. while commuting on an arctic alaskan day "-40 degrees+" my ram instantly dropped while in motion, all safety equipment became unresponsive leaving me to skid in traffic to a stop. thank god no one was hurt during this experience. the vehicle was immediately taken to gene's chrysler, after sitting for days (being told there is no fix for this), fca was officially notified. gene's chrysler servicing agents stated that these issues where reported to fca but they don't know what to do about it. i asked why we were not informed by all the dealership servicing agents from colorado to washington to alaska when our ram was taken in for the many recalls? after days of sitting, the dealership servicing agents stated that a technician team had visited alaska a few months ago and they wanted to try something. a list of parts where exchanged, fuses replaced, and codes reset. after a few test drives they stated the vehicle should be good for awhile but they were not sure if this would permanently fix these issues. asking if the vehicle was completely safe (vehicle transports personnel for school & ministry) to operate, we were told they were not 100% sure but if the issue returned, bring it back to them immediately. time and time again, the dealership servicing team stated that fca was not too concerned because alaska is only a small population of their consumer base. we contacted fca again to remind them winters' arctic weather would return soon, that we needed dire assistance for safety reasons. jan-feb 2018, we'd relive this experience again! *js

The truck will roll away after placing gear in park. this has happened on many separate occasions.

When it is cold and raining, and the truck reaxhed 55 mph, the truck will jerk hard and the abs light and traction control light will come on and stay on. the dash will light up with the message, "anti-lock brake system service needed" and "4wd temporarily unavailable."

This is the third event or incident surrounding this air ride suspension system: 1. the first incident was in jan 2017 after getting up to alaska. this time almost caused a major accident. without warning, the vehicle fell while driving and slid out in traffic. the seatbelt locked in place and malfunctioned. gene's chrysler ended up changing out some of the hardware and parts. 2. the second incident was not as bad on november 2017, this time the warning lights came on. after allowing the truck to sit a few days waiting for chrysler to provide an appointment, and changing all the fuses, the suspension raised up again. 3. time number 3 was on january 31, 2018. this time, the truck was towed to gene's chrysler on february 01, 2018. the vehicle fell to the ground again and was not moving the speed limit because of slower traffic conditions. right now, the truck is still in the shop because more parts need to be replaced and the dealership is waiting on the manufacturers' recall for this air ride suspension system. we are very concerned about our team out there in alaska but now, this is happening to vehicles all over the country during real cold weather. it's like a national crisis now and needs everyone in the transportation department to please do something before someone dies because of these malfunctions and the defective air ride system. now that it has been 40 days without our ministry having their vehicle in alaska, what will nhtsa do to help our pastor and ministry up there? it is so sad that no one seems to care until all these reports of injuries and even deaths, will the government step in and help the people now? also, will you please call the fca and the dealership service people to ask how much longer, another 10 days is too long? thank you for allowing us share what's going on & hope we will hear back from you more sooner than later

Takara recall the heat quit working in my 2014 dodge ram a year ago. went to see about getting it fixed and the quote was approximately 900.00. the truck was only 3 years old. that a is the only complaint i have. this chemical has been awesome otherwise.

Parked at eagle mountain lake boat dock to load my bass boat. put the truck in park and got out to load my bass boat and the truck rolled into the lake,completely submerged in the water.. have heard about the countless dodge rollaway complaints but this is unbelievable.. how many more vehicles owners have to experience this extensive insurance claims before a real investigation occurs these rotary shift knobs on the dash... they have an inherent problem.

I had a air bad recall regarding the side airbags that i had fixed at adams automotive of annapolis and then on 5/07/14 i was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident due to the side curtain airbags deploying while i was driving. after the collision involving 6 cars when my side airbags deployed, none of the other front airbags deployed when they should have because of how bad the front impact was. i was injured very badly due to this and am possibly being held responsible for the accident until chrysler can confirm this is a big issue regarding the ram pickups! luckily there was no severe injuries but i now have lumbar back injuries and left shoulder injuries, not including what happened to others involved. do i need to hire an attorney?..updated 09/14/17 *bf *cn

Starting at about 30k the check engine light came on and the error code read po456 (small evap leak), dodge dealer (peterson ) stated that the computer was so sensitive that they (the dealer) could not detect such a small leak.. so i was told they changed out some common items that had known issues and it should be fix.. at about 37k same exact issue same exact error code same exact response from the dealer.. but this time i was told they just replaced the whole evap system and to make sure i don't overfill the fuel tank.... now at 54k same exact issue same error po456 ..but now a much more noticeable heavy 'fuel' smell in the cab ' and i've been very careful not to 'overfill' the fuel tank'.best part dealer is saying sorry out of warranty.. huh, that's convenient.

Rotary shifter i was outside of my truck on dec.23 2016 when i put my truck in park and went inside of gas station for a minute. after being parked for a while i saw my truck started to roll away on its own i ran out of the door and caught my truck before any major damage happened. my truck was initially in park i always double since i have been hearing about these problems. my truck somehow put itself in drive and took off on its own the manager of pizza hut also witnessed this. now i'm scared to drive my truck which i still owe 37000 on. i have had my truck for about a year and it has never done this before and i'm not sure what to do. however it did lightly hit a yellow pole but no real damage to truck.

Roll away after parking in driveway. i parked on my slight inclined driveway, placed the truck in park, exited the truck and walked to the front while my wife was exiting the passenger side and the truck began rolling backwards knocking my wife to the ground. i had to run down the driveway, jump in the truck and stop it. i started it and it was still in park, as i placed it when i parked it. i drove it back up the driveway and parked it and it was normal at that point. we were puzzled and assumed i must have not put in in park etc. but after hearing more reports of this decided to report this. i am a experienced and safe driver and always put my vehicles in park so i am not blaming myself anymore. my wife was ok, just shaken as it was snowy and cold out, and on the ground. both of us could have been injured or if a child or adult was behind the truck it could have been worse, this does need addressed. i look forward to the feedback.

I had a big rain storm about 3 weeks ago that brought around 8 inches of rain into my area. there was a factory defect with the third brake light and satellite radio antenna seals that aloud water to enter the cab of the truck. everything in the cab of the truck was soaked. i had 6 inches on standing water in the compartments. when i drove the truck after 3 days of raining water began to pour out from the headliner onto the dashboard. dodge refused to do anything with the ram because it was 700 miles out of the warranty. a week after the storm, i started the ram to warm up one morning and when i went to get in the truck every warning light was on, it was beeping, i could to shift it into gear nor could i turn the truck off. once i stepped out of the truck it locked the doors with the truck still running and i could not unlock the doors for an hour later. usaa has total my ram out but chrysler has not taken responsibility for this issue. after researching online the leak is a huge problem dating back to 2004.

You already have an open investigation of this problem. pe 16-014. i have had two instances of the truck rolling away after placing the rotary shift knob into park. engine was running. first time i shifted into park, released the foot brake and it rolled. i moved the shifter to neutral then back to park and it engaged normally. the second time i placed the vehicle park and opened the door to exit. it started rolling away but i stopped it with the foot brake. i looked at the rotary shift control and it had an indicator light for "park". however, when i moved it to neutral i did not hear the normal click sound. placed it back in park and it worked normally. both incidents occurred at home (driveway) and the vehicle was completely stopped with engine running when they occurred.

After going to two dealerships, i am unable to get my recall r46/nhtsa 15v-541 repaired. tuttle click dodge in irvine california and huntington beach dodge in huntington beach, california both advise that they do not have the part, that chrysler will not release the part other than 2 a month, and after ordering the part through both dealers and being told i will be called when it arrives, it has been months and i still have no call and no repair. *tr

All buttons on front right side of steering wheel (cruise control, gear+/-) have completely stopped functioning. vehicle has 44,000 miles, steering wheel wire harness was supposedly replaced a year ago under recall

Diesel exhaust fluid (def wasn't mix with the fuel to make the truck run properly. truck won't stay start. when truck start only go 30mph. has been in shop 10 times since i purchased it in may 2015. it is in the shop with no eta on the part so i am in a renter since 6sept2016. the dealership only cover 5 days of renter. so i am responsible for the remain of renter until truck repaired and still making my truck payment of $613.00. one time i was on the highway and it just stop wouldn't start at all had to be tow to the shop. the rest of the stop and go was on streets.

I started the truck and noticed that the controls on the steering wheel for the radio and blue tooth did not work. i also noticed that the horn did not work. i can not scroll through the information center to check the tire pressure, speed, oil life or any other items in the information center. i also do not know if this issue affects the air bag being able to deploy. i can not reset the oil life after i change the oil.

Smell of exhaust fumes in my 4x4 ram 1500 ecodiesel. at a later date visually seen white fumes that smelled strong of exhaust enter cab though vent system while in reverse, and at a few days later in "drive." "repaired" with a new exhaust gasket by local dealer. smell still occured and scheduled for another repair in about 2 weeks. will supply dealer with printout pictures of other owners with same problem. "exhaust front pipe" crack, and very common thoughout all year model ecodiesels 2014-2016 4x2 and 4x4. had 13 month old firstborn in front seat and needs to be taken more serious by fca (fiat chrystler america). no pictures as of yet as the part is out of my reach until i request seeing the old replaced part. fca claims to have "more robust part" but an hour and ten minutes of phone time and i have realized there is no "new" part. very angry over the situation, as there is no recall for 4x4 models and the 4x4 models use the same part number and part as the 4x2 models. techs at dealership seem lost. very easy to find information online in seconds for anybody who looks. owners that have experienced the problem with same 4x4 model as i, feel very misled and lied to. this is very dangerous and amount of exhaust in cab is completely unsafe and could absolutely cause an accident on the road.

Transmission was replaced due to a manufacturing defect, not part of a recall, rear main seal was replaced, rear differential seal was replaced, high mount brake light was replaced due to water leaking in the cab. there is a chemical smell coming from engine thru vents. front tires wearing on the outside most likely the tie rod defect that the dealer won't acknowledge.

Me and my family (my wife & 2 kids: my oldest is 7 & my youngest is 3) were on a fishing trip. when returning to the boat launch, i backed my boat trailer into the water with my truck. the back tires of my truck are about 2 feet away from the water. i put my truck in park and set my emergency brake. my wife and youngest son got into the truck and began to buckle their seat belts as i set my boat onto the trailer. my oldest stayed on the land. after about 5 minutes of my truck motor running, while still in park, and with the emergency brake on. my wife, who is sitting in the passenger seat, hears somewhat of a pop noise and my truck starts backing into the water. my wife and youngest son are now racing to get out of their seat belts as the truck is starting to slowly sink. once my wife grabs our son and sits him by her, i am able to get to the door they are by and i am pulling on the door, in water that is up to my chin deep, as she is kicking the door and holding the handle of the door. the door opens and i grab my son and wife and we swam to the boat launch. it is unknown of where the pop noise came from. my wife said it sounded like the emergency brake was released. my tragedy is still under investigation. i have no records as of yet like my police report. it is still being handled with the police department. as of pictures, i have one that i am trying to get from the guy who came tow my truck. i will have all these documents within the next few days.

Brakes are not needed to shift vehicle into drive reverse etc. this can be done when you drive the vehicle for the first time during the day. key is also no necessary to 0lace vehicle into gear!

My vehicle is 2014 with 41,403 mile. the winn module went out where the key no longer recognized was recognized. i had a viper remote starter installed by an professional dealer, after the incident this dealer disconnect the remote and installed a new remote starter. it was told to me that this was the cause. if this was the cause of the module failing it would not have allowed my vehicle to run for over 1 1/2 weeks and the remote would not have had control of all the functions of my truck if it was a problem with the remote starter. the remote starter is the only thing that allow the ram 1500 to run as normal. i was advised by the dealership that this is a common problem but no recall has been done. i had to pay $373 to get this part replaced when its a known issue they go bad and they go bad with no relation to a remote starter being added to the vehicle. i feel this is unfair for chrysler/ram to not cover this part and put the blame on something else when its a known defective issue.
