2 occurances, the aebs system engaged/decellerated while traveling 35 mph with no vehicles on either side of the roadway-warning on the display were activated. this ocurred on a city street. 2nd event - ocurred on a city street while i was already slowing for a vehicle stopped at a red light at an intersection more 4 car lengths ahead. the aebs engaged, clearly sensing the abs system was engaged, the brake pedal became unresponsive as if the engine was off. traveling 15 mph when this began. the vehicle ahead of me was struck, the brake pedal still unresponsive caused a second contact with the vehicle while the vehicle was still in abs mode. the brakes were not pumped during this entire incident. no injuries, but considerable damage to vehicle #1.
I experienced unwarranted brake assist while driving down the road. there were no vehicles around me and it was quite frankly very disturbing. this issue has not happened a single time during ownership of the vehiclw
This is the second complaint on this problem but the first after the car was worked on at the dealer. after approximately 50-55 minutes of continuous operation the emergency brakes activated as part of the collision avoidance feature. there was no danger of impact and speed was about 20-30mph on a city street. the braking was not hard but more like abs engagement or crossing a "cattle guard". it lasted for less than 5 seconds. no detailing warning was given and the collision avoidance icon did not light. only one occurrence during this drive of approximately 75 minutes. upon the return trip, again after approximately 50-55 minutes of continuous driving the same braking occurred only this time at highway speed 60-65 mph. it did not reoccur for the remainder of the trip, approximate total trip time of 75-80 minutes. will be returning this vehicle to the dealer for another evaluation but unsure if in the future this vehicle might suddenly stop, activating air bags at highway speeds.
For some time, vehicle has been displaying warning lights, beeping, and braking when no obstacles, while in motion, are around because of the automatic emergency braking system malfunction. i took the vehicle to the dealership a month ago to have the update performed based on information received in the mail. one month later, after the update was performed, vehicle continues to beep, flash warning, and brake while i am pressing the gas and in motion on the road going 45 mph, causing a scraping sound and then going off. problem was supposed to be fixed after update performed on 6/8/19, but is still occurring.
On the freeway the brakes inexplicably engage forcing the rogue into a hard and dangerous deceleration.
My 2018 nissan rogue activates the automatic emergency braking ( aeb) on it's own. it has occurred five or six times, twice while crossing rr tracks. one of these instances happened while traveling at approximately 35 mph and the dodge truck behind us very near rear ended us. the other aeb activations were on level road at normal driving speeds. the brakes just activate and bring the vehicle to a near stop. hopefully this can be resolved.
The automatic emergency braking system engaged on july 6 2108. there was not an obstruction in the road on this city street. while driving straight down the road, the car made a noise, the dashboard flashed, the car shuddered and came to a very quick, almost immediate stop. the vehicle resumed working as normal when i applied pressure to the gas pedal after the stop. there were no other cars on the road at the time. the road had some large patches on the asphalt. the vehicle was traveling ~25 mph when this occurred.
Sparatic forward emergency braking light on while driving and no other vehicles around. also check engine light : stating oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. car was bought new. it is under warranty and dealership is unable to diagnose and correctly fix.
Car braked for no apparent reason. there was no car in front or back of me and my vehicle just suddenly braked. happened on the highway in brooklyn, ny on the brooklyn queens expressway. date of occurance is july 4th 2019.
Forward emergency braking light sporadically coming on while driving. car has been taken to nissan dealership and has not been properly diagnosed or properly repaired. car has also thrown check engine light causing the oxygen sensor to be replaced. lost trust in reliability, security and dependability of my new vehicle. nissan does not appear to competent enough to fix my suv.
On the date listed below, 7/2/2019, and two other times after, the brakes randomly and suddenly activated. the first time was at normal speed, 30-35 mph on a city street. the second was at low speed in a parking garage. the third was again on a city street. each time the car was moving forward, no other vehicles were in close proximity, and a sudden beeping occurred at the same time the brakes engaged. each time it was brief, and fortunately the car was able to be controlled, but if it happens at highway speed the result could be catastrophic. even at low speed, an accident could occur.
Aeb system randomly alerts or engages while driving even with no obstructions. error says "unavailable front radar due to obstructions" no obstructions are visible on road. occurs while driving 10-20mph or 50+ on highway. second complaint, infotainment system randomly restarts/reboots on its own during the day.
My car would disruptively break in its own, when i first bought this car , the safety system break light stayed on, st the time i didn't know what that was nor did anybody was able to explain, i took it in to find out there was damage wires and electrical issues and. dead rat, the brakes also squeaked unusually at times, they also mentioned this was normal and brakes were new, with a lot of complaints and mis informed information i ended up being stuck buying this car, i would consider this a lemon issue but the head department of enterprise where i bought the car took car and reinsured uit was all good to go and fixed , i also bought extra warranty, but shortly after down the road i have had unusual experiences with my car braking in traffic and then releasing very disruptively which had even caused me to lose handle along with my new born, various of times i had concerns u til one day i was slowing down at a light the car brakes very disruptively the car behind me a mother in her prius with her two children slammed into my car , this brake system is not safe. it's causing more issues and hazard accidents then safety.. i am very very sadly in happy customer as i don't feel safe to drive and again this needs to be a recall and i want out of this car z
As i was driving back to home in orange county, ca, on 6/27/2019 at around 8 p.m., i opened the garage door a couple of garage-doors down and as i was slowing the car down to turn and enter the garage, the brakes did not work, and the car sped up instead. i turned the steering wheel to the right to brake the speed of the car and to avoid a head-on collision with the garage's front wall. the air bags got deployed and i got badly bruised. my right foot's right ankle also hit a metal on the right (most probably gas pedal as it was on the right side of my foot) as i turned the car to the right. automatic emergency braking (aeb) is standard on rogue/rogue sport model year 2018, among other nissan models. however, not only the brakes of the vehicle failed on me but also aeb system did not kick in to avoid the collision. it was enterprise rental car. they next morning it was towed to their location in lake forest, oc. they are working with me to get to the bottom of this matter. my hope is they will take the right and conscientious approach to the matter to avoid more serious accident and graver consequences in the future. i will update as i will have more information available to share.
Have had three separate occasions where car breaked with no apparent obstruction while driving 30 mph on city street:
I purchased the 2018 rogue april 27, 2019. on june 24, 2019 as i approached a green traffic light, warning lights and alarms went off in the car. i could not figure out why as there were no obstructions, the suddenly the car came to a screeching stop. i was of course terrified. the car resumed normal operation after about 30 seconds.
I was driving and out of nowhere my car just stop like it was like a sudden stop and i almost was involved into a wreck with my 3 month old baby. i am very sorry about this.
The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system is engaging when there is no threat of an accident. it has happened twice with the most recent being 19jun2019. both times i was accelerating from being stopped at a light. both times system flashes orange, beeps, makes awful grinding noise, and slows the car down.
Vehicle was moving forward in bumper to bumper street traffic at roughly 10 mph approx 1 hour into trip. vehicle applied brakes automatically - felt like going over a cattle guard, for 1 or 2 seconds. then warning light came on re: emergency braking system and collision avoidance icon appeared on instr panel. stayed on until engine was shut off. when restarted icon and warning gone. on return trip again 1 hour into trip but on expressway at 65 mph again cattle guard braking but not enough to slow car too much. then collision avoidance icon and this time warning re: front radar malfunction lights came on. again stayed on till engine shutoff and gone upon restart. took vehicle to dealer, explained problem, and they " updated the software for the emergency braking system". have not had problem since but have not driven car for a 1 hour trip yet. resolution not confirmed yet. purchased car used (rental fleet car) with no registered complaints on nhtsa website.
The automatic emergency braking system activated without cause. it has done this twice on the same section of road several months apart. both times it put on the brakes, gave a red warning banner on the dash, and then shortly later stopped braking. after the first occurrence we took it to the dealer, and they installed a software upgrade. both times we were driving on a newly paved road well behind the vehicle ahead at about 40 mph. the second time we think we noticed a shuddering feeling while the car was braking.
I was driving on the highway through a puddle that was larger than normal but nothing my car couldn't handle and it just stopped. luckily no one was going super fast behind me but the aeb kicked in and the car stopped dead in its tracks.
The car on multiple occasions has randomly braked (grinding like brakes) with the dash lights flashing. i've taken it in to get "fixed" only to have the exact same thing happen again. now service is telling me that they don't see any programming issue. it's startling as it continuously happens in the parking lot, going about 5 mpf, of my work which is on a decline downward into the lot. more concerning and scary is the fact that this happened going 65 mph on the highway. the weather conditions were fine and there was absolutely no reason for the braking.
The emergency braking system is engaging, causing the car to slow down unexpectedly. i hear three beeps, then a drop down menu appears on the computer screen with a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it. immediately after, i hear a grinding noise and the car slows down. i do not feel the brake pedal physically depress, but it shakes. it has happened twice in the last 4 weeks, and seems to be getting more frequent. i am concerned for my safety. i brought the car to the dealer once a few weeks ago, and i have another appointment on monday.
The car's automatic emergency braking system brakes suddenly without warning and randomly. it does so without any obstacles or obstructions visible, or when vehicles are in the vecinity while driving. this proposed safety feature in actuallity has made these experiences feel it as unsafe. i have had this problem for a year and a half. to remedy the situation i have turned off the automatic braking feature off, since it does not work. and on the contrary it actually makes the suv feel more unsafe.
Tl* the contact owns 2018 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while his wife was driving less than 25 mph and exiting a highway, the brake light illuminated, the brake pedal failed to release properly and was hard to depress. the failure resulted in the driver crashing into the rear of another vehicle while exiting the highway during high traffic. the driver maneuvered the brake pedal however, it failed to respond and locked. the drivers sustained no injuries, the front passenger sustained whip lash and neck pains which required further medical treatment. a police report was not filed. the vehicle was able to be driven to the dealer vallejo nissan, :3287 sonoma blvd, vallejo, ca 94590, (707) 656-4041 for further testing and diagnosis. the dealer indicated that the vehicle was safe to drive without retaining the vehicle to provide the option of a loaner vehicle. an engineer was to be sent from the manufacturer for a technical investigation of the brake system within 4 to 6 weeks. the manufacturer was notified of the failure, provided a case number and was to follow up with the dealer and the owner. the approximate failure mileage was 11,500.
Four times our 2018 nissan rogue has activated the emergency braking system, when slowing down. at one time ,with my wife driving the engine died on a railroad tracks. engine restarted but was scary. taken to nissan dealership, twice, they replaced a sensor, still did the same problem two times after that. dealer cannot find the cause. we bought the car for dependable transportation, now with car salesmen knowing this problem, reselling this car is a lost cause. nissan needs to buy back this car.
Whilst taking my wife to work driving on a local road. at 45 mph the vehicle makes 3 beeps and then a grinding sound the vehicle then suddenly slows as if to apply the brakes when detecting an imminent crash. i take my foot off the gas and the vehicle then recovers and functions normally.keeping in mind i've only had this vehicle for 6 months and currently have 11,286 miles on it to have sensor and braking issues is very scary and dangerous especially when it's your family hauler
When going through an intersection at approximately 40 or 45 mph, with no other vehicles visible in front or behind, the car gave a warning, flashed the safety system to red, and engaged the brakes. the car decelerated rapidly, the driver hit the brakes briefly, not long enough to come to a stop. the safety system went back to normal, the driver was able to accelerate and continue driving and the car behaved normally afterwards. this is the second time it has done this in a few week's time.
Trouble with the electronics from new. occasionally when i hang up the phone on bluetooth, the radio volume is full blast. it does adjust the volume after a couple seconds. then the aeb was engaging when there were no obstacles, not going up a ramp, nothing. this occurred at lower speeds, three times in a parking deck and once in a parking lot. so i mentioned it and the 'advisory' card i received from nissan when i brought it in for the 15k oil change. the dealer told me they did a sw upgrade and all was well. driving the car the next day and the power steering was out (warning light on), aeb warning light on and the climate control was completely black. took it back to the dealership, where it has been for over two weeks now. they said they have tried new computer modules, but cannot seem to get it resolved. the electronics never seemed right with this vehicle and i am concerned about the safety of it now.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 nissan rogue. while driving 45-50 mph, the vehicle braked and stopped on its own without warning, but then continued to operate as designed. the contact called darling's honda nissan volvo (114 sylvan rd, bangor, me 04401,(207) 941-1460) and was informed that there may have been an obstruction in the road. the vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 1,000. the vin was unknown. *tr*jb
The car brakes unexpectedly and skid. this has happened twice and there were no vehicles in front of me . there was no reason for the car to brake and stop on its own. this happened as i was exiting the highway and was make a turn on a city street.
Automatic emergency brake (aeb) engaged spontaneously while driving and no apparent obstruction was nearby.
I was driving down a highway going 60 mph, no cars around me, when the aeb sensor started to go off and then braked harshly with a screeching noise. this is the first time the brakes were engaged, second time the warning sensor went off in less than 3 months.
I was driving on a back road of which the speed limit was 45. i had slowed down to 34 as i came into a curve. the car went off the road as i came into the curve just a little. i turned the wheel to get the car back on the road but the steering wheel did not respond. the car continued off the road and sped up, i tried to stop the car with the brakes and they didn't respond either. the car continued to speed up and slammed headon into a large tree. i tried everything i could to turn away and stop the car with no success at all. i had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. thankfully nothing broken but severely bruised and banged up. i have whiplash, a severe seatbelt burn across by neck, shoulder, collar bone and chest. serious bruising on both hips, left knee, right hand and foot, lower abdomen and chest. *dsy *dt consumer states contact rodrigo enterprises for permission to distribute content. *jb *dt*jb
While driving on 3 separate occasions the automatic emergency break option that is on was activated on its own bringing my car to a stop without an emergency stop in front of me. on all three occasions i was in motion 2/3 times over 30mph. i was driving on a city street in el paso tx and on a military installation in corpus christi, tx.
First issue was about a month ago and was the navigation screen. it would not turn on when car was on and would go blank. i took to the dealership and they just reset and update. some weeks pass by and the second time i have an issue was within this past week and was again because navigation screen was doing it again and going blank, not working but on top of several extras. i was in our parking lot going to park my car so i was going about 7-10 miles per hour and all of a sudden out of nowhere my car came to an abrupt halt! it breaked on its own and there were no active vehicles pulling out for it to do that. it did it 3 times on 3 different occasions but the last one scared me because i did have vehicles behind and i would have been hit, it would not have been their fault if my car was acting up as such. then a week later i had random lights on my dashboard turn on with no reason to light up, all this while driving a regular 40 mph road, i had in one day the collision light, the abs and the ! turn on at different times. so i take it back to the dealership on 5-20-19 only for them to update and reset again. my car is too new to be doing that.
Over the past 3 months, while driving on the highway, i would hear a series of 3 beeps and the collision detect warning light would light up for a brief moment. this has happened about 6 times. on one occasion the vehicle slowed down briefly as well. however, last week while driving on a residential street near my home, driving about 25 mph, the vehicle made the 3 beep sound and this time came to a sudden and extreme stop. it also made a grinding noise which i assume was from the brakes being applied suddenly.
Automatic breaking system engages on its own. i keep getting malfunction warnings every time i turn the car on and drive a few minutes. it has come on even when the car was parked.
I was driving and the automatic braking system that is supposed to stop you if going to crash decided to go kick int with nothing in front of me while driving on a normal road no cars and no obstructions, we were almost hit from the back but the car was able to swerve and didn't hit us. this happened a total of 3 times. i took it in and the dealership knew of the problem and said they could fix it. i think there should be a recall it was very scary and unavoidable.
The software update for the aeb system provided by nissan did not fix the problem of the aeb engaging at random.
Car will say obstruction ahead while in motion and then dead stop. this happens in parking garages, if the road has a dip and a puddle, under bridges, going at speeds from 5-15mph. most recent time happened may 5 2018, this time it dead stopped with a red photo meaning collision in the garage, nothing was in front of the car the car was in motion when it stopped, the breaks were rock solid, car took time to move after gas pedal was hit. this is a multiple time incident.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 nissan rogue. while driving approximately 45 mph, an abnormal noise was heard underneath the vehicle and the contact noticed a red line across the instrument panel. all the indicators on the instrument panel were illuminated. the contact mentioned that the vehicle completely stopped and was unable to accelerate. the vehicle was able to accelerate minutes later. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front bumper brake needed to be repaired and the automatic braking system indicator illuminated. the vehicle was repaired; however, the mechanic advised the contact to visit a nissan dealer. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 14,798.
While in motion at 10 mph, with no obstruction anywhere around my car, the automatic emergency breaks deployed for a couple of seconds and it significantly slowed my car down. this happened 3 times already on a street. i am afraid that it might happen on the freeway and that i will be rear-ended. when this happens, there is no pre-warning. the car takes control of the breaks and slows it down forcefully and abruptly. this problem is definitely a safety issue. this might cause potential harm to myself, my passengers, and other drivers on the road. it might be fatal if my rogue deploys the aeb abruptly and forcefully on the freeway at high speeds.
Driving local in city street heading straight aprox. 25 miles an hour. brake system engaged in a lock up causing a grinding an hault. happens for a couple of seconds & then released back to normal. almost causing to be rear ended. this is not the 1st. time of this occurrence taken place.
I was driving down the street one day no one around me, no object, was not on auto control, and my car automatically brakes on its own while driving. had it done that while it was a busy road it would of caused an accident.
This has happened twice in the last 2 months. while driving at around 35 mph the breaking system engages for no apparent reason causing the car to rapidly slow to almost a stop. in both cases there has been nothing in front of the vehicle to cause this. vehicle loses speed at a rapid pace causing the occupants to be thrown forward into the seatbelts. once at very slow speed the breaks release and the vehicle operators normal. both time this has happened on a city street with the car in drive.
Automatic emergency breaks engage at random times. there is never anything in front of the vehicle or in its path, but the car beeps, shakes, and the breaks engage at random moments.
Going home from work on friday, going 60 mph on the highway, my vehicle braked on its own. there was nothing in the roadway, it was a clear, sunny day. thankfully, no vehicle was close behind me. i immediately exited the highway and went directly to the dealership where i bought the rogue. i explained to the service personnel what happened. he drove the vehicle around the parking lot and came back and said it didn't do anything and can't do anything about. he spoke with his manager, who told the service man that his rogue does it at times, too. i said this is not normal and it's dangerous. i got no relief. i decided to see if it would happen again and left the service department for home. less than a few blocks from my home, the braking problem happened again. i was going 40 mph. i called the service department as soon as i got home and explained it happened again and the service person actually got surly with me and to bring my vehicle in at 8:00 am (sharp) on monday for a check with a technician. this is a very dangerous defect that needs to be fixed for free by nissan as soon as possible before someone's vehicle causes an accident and causes injury, or worse, death.
Aeb activates when driving causing vehicle to stop suddenly for no reason. there is nothing to trigger this, vehicle just stops. this has happened 5 times to me. nissan sent out a notice that there was a software upgrade available to eliminate this from happening. once software was upgraded, happened 1 time again as i approached railroad tracks.. took to dealer, vehicle currently has 12,700 miles, dealer unable to duplicate problem. nissan has acknowledged "no fix" and to return to dealer if problem occurs again. have filed a complaint with nissan consumer affairs case #35496726, with no satisfactory resolution. do not feel safe driving this vehicle.
The car has an automatic braking system which engages if it senses an impending accident, it shows a warning and then takes control of the car and brakes if you do not. the is extremely dangerous as it malfunctions and engages when there is no threat. there are several complaints of the same senerio, nissan has actknowleged that there is an issue - but has no fix for the sensor issue. mine engaged twice yesterday while i was entering the freeway at app 30-40 mph. there were no cars in front of me and no obstructions. the roads were dry, it was very windy out, the ramp to the freeways both was at a slight incline with straight access. the car "sensed" i was going to hit something and emergently braked out of nowhere. there were cars behind me that almost hit me.
