Nissan rogue 2017 ; whistle noise transmitted to call recipient when using bluetooth hands-free phone system
Both tailgate struts need to be replaced on a 2017 rogue i bought new. single safe 64 year old driver. very expensive to replace on such a new car bought because of nissan reputation
My 2017.5 nissan rogue sv aeb went off with no warning or any threat of a automobile or person in the way. we were on a highway going 50 mph straight. i had to serve so cars behind me wouldn't hit my car.
As with the many other complaints that i have seen and read about in articles, i've experienced the automatic emergency braking systems engaging even with no reason to be doing so, i.e. clear space in front of me/no vehicles, no signs or barriers with in direct sight of the front of the vehicle. the dealership where i have it serviced did perform a software update, which did decrease the times it goes off unwarranted, however it still occurs with no reason to.
My vehicle can go into gear with out keys or pressing the break.
Driving down the street about 40 mph with no one else around, thankfully, the rogues aeb started to kick in. the sensor area is clean and no reason for it to activate. not the first time this has happened and seriously scared us.
Has all kinds of devices like some just dont feel right. vehicle was stationary, in motion on the road
Vehicle was stationary, in motion , on a city street not only that i was locked out i called for assistant i waited for two hours then i call back to see if they going to be here operates lady she was very rude she told me leav nobody is going come and help pretty much she hang up on me i was stuck for 6 long hours .
There is an issue with the front-end collision sensor causing the vehicle to falsely register an obstruction causing the vehicle to stop. on several occasions i had the sensor trip going at speeds lower than 30mph. normally it was when there was a dip in the road or near railroad tracks. most recently i had two situations while driving on the highway. the first was on the highway in a hilly area (lake of the ozarks mo) and it was raining. i received several alerts that he sensor could not detect because it was obstructed. wen it did this, the speed of the car reduced, but did not stop and the steering wheel locked for a moment. i disabled the system to continue the rest of my drive. the road conditions were very we and i did not want to experience issues. the second was on the highway, doing over 80mph in the left hand lane passing the vehicle in the right lane. as i came down the hill the car came to a stop and the steering wheel locked a the same time not allowing me to clear the active highway. i took my foot off of the accelerator and was able to then press it again and move into the shoulder of the road. the road conditions were dry this time (2 days later than the previous incident). thankfully there was not a vehicle right behind me as they would not have had a reaction time because of coming down the hill. i again had to disable the safety sensor feature and drove the remaining 10 hours of my trip without it. i contacted the dealer on 9/3 when they opened and was advised there was a safety recall that i should bring it in but was never notified of the recall by nissan.
Seat belt won't buckle (passenger side) and the rear sensor is not working. it has been replaced for a brand new one because we reported the the warning light/sign kept showing. the dealership replaced it. but the warning light came up again when we got home until now. after driving for a few minutes, the warning light/sign for the sensor would show.
On august 22, 2019, while driving the automatic emergency breaking system engaged (flashing lights, warning beeps and a grinding noise) while i was driving about 30 to 40 mph, causing the car to stall and forcibly jerk. this almost caused me to get rear ended. there was no obstruction ahead. this had already happened 2 other times and the dealership could not find anything wrong with it. i took it immediately after it happened the third time
On 4 different occasions within less than 60 days, my 2017 nissan rogue has tried to "stop" on its own while i have been driving for no reason. there is nothing in front of me on the sides of me or close behind me when it occurs. it has varied in the speeds i have been driving, it hasn't happened during one specific speed. when it occurs, it beeps multiple times and i can hear my brakes locking up for a split second and then it stops. the first time it happened, i was going around 30 mph in town (thankfully i wasn't on the interstate) and i truly thought my car had come to a complete stop or died right there in the road. each time my car messes up, it always makes the same noise, makes the same 3-4 beeps and then tries to lock up. i took it to my local nissan store in jackson, ms and they informed me that nothing was wrong with my car- but my gut just says other wise. it scares me to think that this might happen on the interstate, at a much higher speed, with my family in the car with me. please help!
This is my second report, i paid for an abs control update for my nissan rouge 2017 and two weeks later my rouge started stopping again and slowing down again while driving it. i have kept this vehicle parked in my garage because i am very afraid to drive it because it is unsafe. i feel cheated because i'm still paying a note on a car that i cannot drive because it is unsafe for anyone. i received a notice in the mail from nissan to bring my 2017 nissan rouge in to have the same update only this time they are offering the update for free, i have no faith that the update will work. i'm just getting the run around from nissan,
The rogue caught fire after being parked for 12 hours. the car burned completely to the ground. it happened around 4:00a and no one was in the vehicle or around the vehicle when it occurred. no investigation has been done and am waiting for instructions from the insurance company. this is a fleet vehicle from my company. there were no accessories plugged into the car like a cell phone, or other device. the only items inside the car was a suitcase with clothing, child car seat, car covers, sunglasses, and miscellaneous small items.
I have been noticing water accumulation under the drivers side seat and also fogging on the windshield in front of the drivers side. this is all happening during summers. i have removed more than a gallon water already and it keeps coming back i think.
At 8000 miles, i had to have the right front strut replaced, and now i have 23,000 miles on it and i am going on my 4th strut, right front. a popping clicking noise when i turn or back up. driving a 4 hr trip, while driving about 3 hrs, the air conditioning froze up and stopped working. i could hear the fan on full blast but nothing was coming out. i turned it off for 20 minutes and then it came back on with cool air. it is in the shop now for a heater/cooler box and the 4th strut replacement.
I've had the car for five months is 2017 had 44,000 miles varty had problem with the heating core i had to buy a new battery and now when the air-conditioner comes on sometimes the heater comes on i have had a slow takeoff from the stopping position the car doesn't want to have too much power i have seatbelt issues that i can't get the seatbelts put in especially when i have my grandson who is autistic and five years old even my mother will have a hard time back when the seatbelt the brakes i don't know what's going on. go online and other issues with other 2017 nissan rogue sports are the same problem i'm having but yet there's no recalls and i am very upset with this i have a loan for this car and i feel like i've got a lemon
Car jerking when put in reverse and jerks going from a brake to accelerate. my car lasts jerks in the morning when out into reverse i'm about to drive it to work. i just bought this car!!! help!!! carmax and nissan can't find anything wrong and says it's within the normal limits. no way! there has to be something wrong with the transmission. this is an ongoing issue. i just took my car in last week to be serviced for this issue and i'm taking it back in today for them to look at it again. smh!
Tamara recall .... the vehicle was turning left lane on a city street when a car came out of nowhere the sensors didn't beep & the airbags supposedly had been serviced or repaired by dealer but they never deployed & it was a frontal crash . plus dealer already had knowledge of this type of fault but still didn't bother telling me but put it in 1 of the service maintenance invoices and i think dealer is doing mischief please investigate ... thank u 4 ur time.... p.s they have done repairs on the vehicle that are not required yet as well i am a certified auto technician a.s.e certifications
At 11,500 the car decreased in braking ability. the dealer was going to charge an enormous amount just to look at the brakes. took the car to our reliable mechanic to receive the trust and not be ripped off. the rotors are glazed which prevents the brakes to stop the car quickly. nissan refused to take care of this problem. it is drivable because it does stop, just not quickly. but at inspection time, it probably won't pass. at 13,100, the serpentine belt and the alternator let go while driving. this was covered under warranty, but should not happen at 13,100 miles. this happened while driving the car. the car jerked and pulled over immediately and towed to the dealership.
Small particles were able to pass through condenser and hit where the freon is stored which made the freon leak. not sure where or what kind of particles could pass through the condenser while driving on the freeway. did go to a nissan dealership and was told they were unsure of what could go through the condenser to cause the damage. there are small holes in my condenser.
Cuando enciendo el aire acondicionado me emana un mal olor. estando detenido.
While driving on i-5 on a clear sunny day the panoramic sun roof exploded for no apparent reason.
'lease started in 08/17 (car has an auto senor (as)) '11/11/17: brought my car to the service center, as activated with no cars around. the shop scanned the system, said there was a radar stain. they cleared the system and gave it back '12/06/17: brought my car to the service center, as activated with no cars around. My daughter leased a 2017 nissan rogue sv awd and on a least 2 occasions (11/17 & 2/19) the aeb (automatic emergency braking) system suddenly activated on its own for no apparent reason as there was no vehicle or other obstruction in front. this happened at highway speeds but thank god no accident occurred. we have lost all confidence in the vehicle and look forward to turning it in. attempts to return the vehicle early (9 months remaining on lease) to nissan were met with constant comments to return to the dealership to repair the issue. nissan gave no value and expressed no compassion when informed of the trauma the sudden and unexpected stops caused us. just think about it total loss of vehicle control on the highway.
The voice recognition had stopped working.
The gas pedal getting stuck
When the vehicle is stationary, engine turned off a weird chirping/buzzing noise comes from the engine in intervals. the dealer is unable to duplicate, had the vehicle for 2 weeks. i have recorded it and sent to several mechanics, i see on youtube other owners have it as well, and nissan can't figure out what it is. it happens frequently since the day i purchased the vehicle on 7-31-2017 brand new. i now have 10,000 miles, it still happens, last time yesterday.
Brake warning light comes on dashboard and makes beeping sound when brake is not on, while i'm driving. its been leaking under the dashboard by the foot pedals, almost every time we get a good rain shower in florida. when i get in after a rain and drive, it plus in on my feet or the passenger side.i asked them to check it and they said my windshield is the problem i should take it to my insurance to deal with. the car is extra loud even when window are altho way up. headlights are very weak, you can barely see them on the road at night.
This car was purchased on 8-30-18, and on 9-4-18, the car would not start. i had to get a jump and then leave it on the charger for hours before the car would start. the car clicker did not work and the trunk lifter feature would not work. when the car did start it gave a malfunction notice in the dashboard. also, the car makes a noise when driving on the highway. the car was taken back to the dealer but they would not allow me to return the car as i did not feel safe or comfortable with the car due to these concerns. they attempted to resolve the matter by changing the battery in the car clicker. but the matter is not resolved and they are unwilling to service me as i only had the car for less than a week before these problems began since the car has in my possession. they would not allow me to return the car. therefore, i had to take the car back with me. it has been parked ever since. i do not feel comfortable at all to drive this vehicle as i drive a lot and need a car that is dependable, safe, and reliable.
I purchased my car brand new in march 2018. it has less than 7700 miles on it. on july 30, 2018, i was at a red light (completely stopped) on a dry city street, with my foot on the brake, when my car suddenly lunged forward into the vehicle in front of mine. despite my foot remaining on the brake, the engine continued to rev until i took my foot off the brake and reapplied. i purchased the safety package for my car, and not only did the brakes fail, but the safety package, that is supposed to prevent a collision, also failed.
Forward emergency braking keeps engaging with no object in front. has happened several times. the latest time was this evening. it engaged on the interstate at a speed of 65 mph dropped speed to 45 with a semi truck directly behind me. other times it has happened when driving up or down hills, when accelerating on the on ramp to the freeway.
While driving down the highway the power dropped to the car. the rpms dropped down to almost zero, the power to the radio and fan motor stopped as well. i went from 65 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour in a matter of seconds. thankfully i was not hit by another car. the second issue is that the engine feels like it might stall upon start after sitting all day. this has happened multiple times. the third issue is that the bluetooth radio system has a whistling sound when trying to use this and be safe while driving. the fourth issue is that the interior back door pulls to close the door both pop out and cannot be pushed back into place. the vehicle has been away from me for a significant amount of time so nissan can try and make repairs. consumer affairs told us that simply there was no fix for the bluetooth issue and that the back door pulls was a design flaw from the manufacturer.
Try to open on a highway either left or right window when you are 60 miles and up. and your ears could suffer severe damage.
Driving down the freeway and the sunroof exploded,it was not hit by anything.
Was driving down the highway at 55mph when i heard a loud explosion like a bomb went off. i could then hear air blowing through the car. i pulled off the highway only to realize the sunroof, which had been closed, had completely exploded. there were no other vehicles around me at the time and was traveling on an open stretch of highway with no overpasses yet the hole on the sunroof looked like a crater dropped from the sky through it. thankfully i had the shade closed or this could have caused a serious accident.
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 nissan rogue. while the vehicle was in park with the engine running, it rolled away while the contact was exiting. the vehicle rolled over the contact's foot. the contact sustained a broken foot that required medical attention. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer or independent mechanic. the manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 2,000. the vin was not available.
Three times i have been driving down the road at approximately 35 - 45 mph with no obstructions or vehicles when the car suddenly beeped the collision warning and automatically applied the brakes and almost completely stopped the vehicle. i was almost rear ended on two occasions by the vehicle that was behind me as there was no reason to stop. i brought into dealership two times and was told they could not find any codes and they cleaned off the camera area (i keep the car relatively clean). they told me to turn off the proximity alert system to help prevent the problem. there is a serious issue with nissan's collision avoidance system that is very dangerous and needs to be investigated and resolved. my wife is afraid to drive the vehicle as she was with me twice when it happened. please issue a recall or something as nissan is not fixing the issue or investigating the problem. my vehicle had between 3,000 and 9,000 miles when these events occurred.
I was driving on the street and a car made a turn in front of me and my front collision thing did nothing.
(feb) forward emergency braking system faulty. i have filed another claim before this but there has been more development and answers to the unknown as to why it is doing this. i spoke to nissans arbitration dept last night and they have found that it is some traffic lights that are causing an interference and causing this system to set off audible beeps followed by a red light (according to user manual it is the feb emergency warning indicator). it will then brake on its own...sometimes more significantly than others. i do have a picture of the light going off which i will attach to this complaint. i have had this car for 6mos and it has been in the shop 4 times. i feel this car is a lemon. i am still fighting with nissan but as of last night they said that nissan has no interest in replacing or letting me repurchase at this time, but they will offer a cash settlement.
We pulled up to a stop sign and stopped on a slight decline getting ready to make a right turn. the car beeped four or five times and the engine shut off. restarted with no problem and have had no repeat of this. called the dealership and they have never heard of this problem. emailed nissan and am waiting for a response. little frightening to take it on the freeway.
The sunroof exploded. i was driving on the highway and the sunroof exploded. it was 27 degrees fahrenheit out.
Bought a 2017 nissan rogue august 23, 2017. in january of 2018, noticed water collecting under passenger seat. dealership said drain plugs to sunroof were clogged causing the cabin floors to fill with water. mold had begun to form and there was a possibility of the air bags being damaged. have no idea when the faulty parts started to malfunction, or how long exposure to mold has been. nissan says this is an environmental issue and that they are not responsible.
While driving on the highway, the main moving glass of the panoramic sunroof shattered. this happened while the closest car in front of me was ~1/4 of a mile.
Vehicle randomly accelerates weird. when trying to accelerate from a stop sign or traffic light, it goes to 20 mph and hesitates with gas pedal pushed. the rpms rev up to 4,000-5,000 rpm, but the car does not accelerate beyond 20 mph. after about 10-15 seconds, vehicle will accelerate to normal speed. this causes me to sit idle at times fearing for my safety. nissan service cannot get any fault codes to trip or figure out what the problem is. the service manager says it is my spouse and i's driving habits; however, the general manager at the dealership says it is the transmission. nissan refuses to do anything further with this and my safety is at risk based on the unknown timing of this event. does not happen at a certain time of day except randomly. nissan is aware of all of the dates/times/locations it has happened since january 1, 2018.
There is a safety issue with the front braking system. there is even a document send to the nissan dealerships notifying them that it is a known issue, but there is no fix as of yet the engineers cannot even find a cause for the issue. i asked for a copy of the letter, but, of course, it is a "confidential" document and only privileged parties are able to have access to it. what happens is there will be an audible beeping (two-three times) and immediately after your car will slam on the brakes on it own, which in turn kicks on the anti-lock brakes. there will be nothing on the sensor or nothing in your path in front of you. it does this spontaneously. this was while i was driving!!!! this has happened to me 3 times already. when hooked up to a diagnostic tester, it throws a code that there was something in front of the sensor. the date marked on this claim/report was the last time it has happened....so far....
While driving at approximately 50 mph down a country highway the sunroof shattered without warning. the road was clean and dry. i do not believe this was the result of a rock or bird..
I was driving down the highway around 9:30am on 10-27-17 when it sounded like a gunshot. i then heard glass raining down on the top of my sun shield. my sunroof had exploded. i was only around two vehicles when this occurred and there was no road debris. nissan stated they will look into this issue but that i need to turn a claim into my insurance.
On october 11, 2017, the vehicle's 'intelligent safety shield' feature cause the vehicle to unexpectedly brake while moving at approximately 65 mph on the interstate 10 freeway. this malfunction nearly caused a serious accident which could have resulted in serious injuries. we immediately contacted the nissan dealer and they did have the vehicle towed to their service department for inspection. they have had the vehicle for approximately 1 week and are now contacting us requesting that we pick up the vehicle, despite the fact that they have not repaired the vehicle or even know 'exactly what the problem is' in their own words.
Vehicle has two issues, seems to be temperature related. when the temperature drops below 35 degrees, the yellow light indicating that immediate braking is required, is engaged and blinking when vehicle is turned on.(while parked or driving) light stays on, while driving, even though there are no obstructions in the road or vehicles' cameras.it goes off, after driving for approx 5-10 minutes. when the temperature is above freezing (warmer months) a hard brake will cause the center console display and the functionality of hands-free cell use, to turn off. after a few seconds, the display resets and turns on (reboots) on it's own. if speaking to someone via hands free, when turnoff occurs, it will automatically reconnect call, after reboot. (if caller stays on the line) the vehicle's dashboard has displayed all warning lights and sounded all audible alarms, several times, while driving under normal conditions (both street and highway driving). while these situations are unnerving and annoying, they did not seem to affect the actual handling of the vehicle. the vehicle remains under power and in gear. concerned that one of these events may actually trigger the brake or cause the vehicle to turn off, while under normal driving conditions. or, not work, when they are actually required..vehicle has been back to dealer, for these specific issues, several times. after replacing console and doing computer updates, vehicle is released as "fixed". vehicle is still experiencing these issues. this has been happening since the car was received (new from the nissan dealer) up to the present time.
