We have classified the 101 complaints from 2010 Nissan Rogue about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 25 mph with the accelerator pedal engaged. there was no warning indicator illuminated during or after the failure. the contact was able to coast the vehicle onto the road shoulder. the contact drove the vehicle home. the contact stated that the failure was experienced several times. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 160,000. *dt 9/5 and 9/26 trip to kentucky and michigan 65-70 to 20-25 pulled off quickly coasted looking for exit after about ten minutes power started coming back. made it home. did not happen again until 9/26 called mechanic said he was standing looking at a 2019 that the guy said is doing the exact same thing. made a whirring noise and lost power, he said it was a 5-6k transmission fix and he would get my car in this coming monday to hook it up. i told mendalls that we haven't had any problems besides the highway trips and he said the other guy said the exact same thing. 109 powertrain transmission deceleration complaints.*jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. after the accelerator pedal was depressed several times, the vehicle restarted and an abnormal cracking noise was heard. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the differential needed to be repaired and there was no warranty. the vehicle was taken to pomoco nissan of hampton (1134 w mercury blvd, hampton, va 23666, (757) 206-2704) where it was diagnosed that the kick panel harness connector needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 73,952.
I have a 2010 nissan rogue i have been having issues with loss of power when driving on the highway while driving at 70 miles an hour it starts decelerating to 60 and the 50 mph sometime when i'm at a light it will not take off. i will put the the car i drive or reverse car will not move. also i was trying to pass over another car and when i pressed the gas vehicle would not respond. this is a safety issue if i ever saw one why will nissan not take care of this cvt issue i don't know why they don't address this problem before more deaths occur. this issue has happened on hwy. i-10 driving from houston texas to katy texas wich is about 25 miles.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while driving at various highway speeds the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. after stopping and allowing the vehicle to rest for several minutes, the vehicle operated normally. the vehicle was taken to the local dealer nissan of gastonia (2275 east franklin blvd, gastonia nc) where it was diagnosed that the transmission cooler needed to be replaced. it was also deem that due to the damage caused by the cooler failure that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that the pinion nut became loose and the driveshaft detached from the rear of the vehicle. the failure occurred while traveling 35 mph. the contact could not steer and had to stop the vehicle in the middle of the road. the vehicle was towed to straub nissan (205 straub dr, triadelphia, wv 26059, (304) 233-2222). the contact stated that the dealer would not pay for the repair because the pinion nut was not covered under warranty; therefore, the contact would be responsible for the cost. the contact was waiting to hear back from the warranty department. the manufacturer was not contacted. the cause of the failure was not determined. the failure mileage was 120,000.
One week after purchasing the car, i took it on the highway where the speed limit is 75 mph. after about an hour the speed slowed to 65, then 60, then 50 etc., even tho the gas pedal is to the floor. cruise control also had no effect. i had to pull over in a very dangerous situation. after a few minutes, i got back on the road and up to speed again. this has happened now 3 times in 2 days.. so obviously i don't feel safe taking it on a busy highway. from what i gather, this is a transmission cooling issue and is remedied by installing a $1200 external cooling unit of some sort that nissan is aware of but won't address(?) i am not happy.
125000 miles and the cvt transmission failed. i was om my way to the store and it started grinding and was done.
I took the car to the dealership i purchased the car from because there were winning noises coming from the left side in the engine/transmission compartment. in addition to cut and unsealed wires under the dash and in the fuse box, as well as a stuck caliper (that they replaced for my convenience according to the service manager). the car has been in the dealer for a total of 2 weeks in the 1 month i have own the car and they have only fixed the caliper. my concern with the cut and unsealed wires is that lights (parking brake and battery) in the dash turn on while i am driving and it has turned off on me when coming to a stop. it happened to my wife (with my newborn in the car) when she was driving the car in the highway, she came to a stop because of traffic and the car turned off on her creating an unsafe environment for both my newborn and child. the response from the dealer was "we are unable to duplicate the failure, the computer doesn't show any codes" yet it happens to me frequently.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled while making a left turn. there were no warning indicators illuminated during the failure. the failure occurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to modern nissan of lake norman (18615 statesville rd, cornelius, nc 28031) where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was 112,000.
Driving on i-76 on cruise control at 75 mph when vehicle starts to run rpms in excess of 4k while losing acceleration. pull over and turn off vehicle. check under the hood, slight burning smell. wait about twenty minutes, turn vehicle on, won't accelerate at all. wait some more, drives for a little while, then high acceleration with loss of speed again, this time never going over 60 mph. i'm lucky i was not rear ended on the interstate and killed with my two year old son.
After driving on a highway with my nissan rouge 2010, with continuous speed of 55 to 60 mph for about half hour, and then came to a full stop, due to traffic congestions, the car won't run or accelarate, even if i push the (gas) pedal all the way to the floor. i have to turn off, and turn off the engine to get it going again. it happened many times during warm or hot weather. in winter, it seems to be fine. the dealer said it was transmission problem, but they charged me, even they have not found or fix any issues.
Transmission display symptoms of failure while going 65 miles an hour on a highway with my children and ultimately stalled out.
Drive shaft broke and took out shift gear cable.. car was in motion and just stopped dead in middle of the road. upon calling nissan to inquire cost of drive shaft they replied " we have them in stock because this is very common, happens all the time"
2010 nissan rogue driving on highway i-57 northbound around 159th doing the speed limit of 60 the conjuring start slowing down i pulled over on the shoulder and turn the car off and it would start up it wouldn't say anything had the car towed to a mechanic saturday morning monday they told me the trance wisconsin cvt trans the car is has 84000 miles 2010 excellent condition no major issues and they won't honor the warranty on the car
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle went into safe mode and independently decelerated. the contact stated that the failure was intermittent. the contact stated that the failure usually occurred after two hours of continuous driving. the vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced the issue several years ago and the transmission was replaced by the manufacturer free of charge. the manufacturer was contacted and informed that the failure recurred. the dealer information was not available. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 128,324.
After approximately 2 hours of driving on the highway, the transmission goes into "limp" mode. nissan states this is the result of the transmission overheating and the only solution is installing a new nissan external cooler. car will barely reach 55-60 mph especially if going up hill. also, once the car is stopped it will not accelerate quickly. the first time this happened it gave no warning and it almost caused an accident due to the accelerator not responding when my attempting to turn across oncoming traffic. this is going to cause an accident with serious injuries or worse if not addressed. there was no warning the transmission had overheated and gone into this mode. the first sign was the car simply failing to accelerate with the gas pedal depressed to the floor. multiple times the car has just suddenly decelerated in heavy highway traffic from 75 mph to 55 mph after only 1.5-2 hours of highway driving. this seems to be a significant defect that is going to cause an accident. also it appears that this issue has been ongoing for a extended period of time with little to no effort from the manufacturer to address the issue.
On the highway going an a 1.5 hour trip the 2008-2010 rouge transmission will over heat causing the vehicle to go into "limp" mode with no warning which means it has no power. nissan sent out a service bulletin to their service departments in september 2016 acknowledging their is a defect and the fix is an external cooler but they refuse to fix my car. if a family of 4 is in the car and they don't know what to look for the vehicle could go into "limp" mode and when they try to pull back onto the highway they could lose power right in the middle of the highway and get struck by oncoming traffic and be killed. who would answer for that? fletcher nissan in joplin mo are the ones who told me to contact you because nissan corporate are the ones refusing to fix the issue. it has happened to my family several times in our car. at first they said we just needed the transmission flushed. we bought the car with 10000 miles on it and it has been doing it ever since we have had it. luckily i knew what to look for and kept my family out of harms way. josh houchin the service mgr. at fletcher nissan said they have had 5 2008-2010 rouge vehicles come in in just the last few months with the same defect. so it is not just my vehicle. they need to recall all the affected vehicles before someone dies because of this. thank you
While driving at highway speeds, vehicle suddenly decelerated to 50, then 35, then 20 mph. fortunately, we were near the exit and were able to leave the hwy. after shutting off the vehicle and waiting a few minutes, the vehicle performed normally. this is the 3rd time in one year of ownership this has happened.
My 2010 nissan rogue will not accelerate when going uphill on the highway. when flooring the gas pedal, the car will slow down from 70 to 60 to 50 to 40 mph on a uphill (there were only three passengers including driver). the car transmission will eventually stop working until the car cools down. took car to a nissan service center and was repaired under nissan's cvt 10 years/120k miles warranty referencing tsb ntb14-002e. the valve body was removed/replaced and an external cooler was installed to resolve the issue.
Cvt transmission overheated due to the following normal driving conditions 1. hot weather (92 f) 2. a long drive (over 3 hours) 3. driving up highway mountains in virginia. fail safe activated causing the car computer cpu to drastically cut power to the wheels. this caused a lack of power such that i could not accelerate up the hill in excess of 45 mph. the speed limit on the hill was 70 mph. eighteen wheel trucks were immediately behind my rogue forcing me to pull onto the road shoulder allowing them to go past. i brought the car to a local nissan dealer who confirmed from examination of the car cpu that the transmission overheated and that an overheat code was found in the cpu. they also confirmed that the fail safe was activated that caused the severe power loss. the nissan dealer knew exactly what the problem was from my description. nissan is aware of the problem and even extended my transmission cvt warranty from 6yr/60,000 miles to 10yr/120,000 miles. however, their solution to this problem is to install an auxiliary cvt transmission fluid cooler at an expense to me of $1225. my dealer checked with nissan and said they would not cover the expense even though the transmission in my car is still on warranty. documentation of my exact experience can be found on youtube @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg_zf1eo0pw. there are several more videos on youtube under rogue cvt power loss and documentation on many sites on the internet. in conclusion, nissan is installing cvt transmissions in several of their model cars with a known overheating issue and requires their customers to install a transmission fluid cooler at the customers expense. the dramatic loss of power is a big safety issue. in my case i had to speed up to get up the hills as my speed dropped from 80mph down to 45mph finally pulling onto the shoulder.
This started happening right after the last recall feb 2016. was going at 65 mph little uphill (from 1200 feet to 2200 feet) then the speed started dropping from 65mph to less than 30mph on a busy california i-15 freeway. i had to pull the car from the far left lane (5 lanes each way) to the right shoulder where i stopped for about 35 minutes then started the car again. it happened at least 4 times since they messed up my car in the last recall. other issue i experienced was when i stopped at a traffic light and tried to move, it barely moved then all of the sudden it jumped, it was very risky. i had to pull to a parking lot (this happened 3 times)
Well i was driving in the highway with speed limit of 80 mph, car suddenly went down to 40, almost hit by a big old truck, jeez glad to be alive, i loved nissan n i had my first car as nissan n switch to toyota but now i wanna try nissan as it was my fav, now i missed my toyota, atleast toyota csr are helpful in fnding the problems. nissan dealers oh boy they don't know whats going on, i think they r just pretending. if anybody is buying nissan, think twice if you wanna risk ur life. hope noone gets hurt on highway with the same issues!!
Several time the car has not accelerate properly from a stopped position. i would press the gas all the way to the floor and the car would not move until suddenly it seemed to "catch". just recently driving at a speed of about 75mph the car gradually slowed and would not accelerate. it dropped down to about 65 mph and then eventually gradually accelerated. when i got off the highway i came to a stop light. again, the car would not accelerate. when i got home i put the car in park and tried to "rev" the engine and at first nothing would happen. i had my foot to the floor. the transmission in this rogue has already been replaced twice! this transmission has about 50,000 miles on it. *tr
Hi, i am experiencing a known "cvt overheating" problem with my rogue. what's happening is that when the cvt gets more then some threshold temperature it goes to so called "safe" mode and the car looses speed dramatically, including situations on a high way. this is a safety issue! i brought me vehicle to the dealership 2 times and as a result they suggested to install a "cooler kit" by nissan which potentially can solve the problem just by cooling the cvt is a "better" way. they are asking for about $1200 for the installation. i see that as a nissan's design flow. i don't think paying for this out of my pocket is the right solution. i think nissan should start a re-call on that problem. this is unacceptable situation on how nissan handles it right now (in fact it doesn't handle it all). thank you. I bought a new 2010 nissan rogue sl awd in july 2010. at about 50-60k miles, the engine would cut off if i came to an abrupt stop after traveling about 60-65mph and then braking ' at a red light for instance. i have also had an issue with the car not accelerating on the highway when pressing on the gas. this happened few times and i took the car to the dealer's service department, who said they could not identify a problem after doing a test drive. i find hard to believe nissan is not aware of this issue with these many complaints of same or very similar problems. today, 9/27/16, my car engine cut off while entering the highway, i was super lucky my car was not hit by a truck, which could have ended with me being killed.
I was driving on the highway at about 75 mph for around 30-40 minutes when the car stopped accelerating and began decelerating. i had my foot all the way down on the gas peddle and it just kept losing speed. lucikly i was able to coast into the right lane, because i wanted to get into the breakdown lane when the car finally began to accelerate again. the car began acting normal after that until i got off the exit ramp about 10 mins later. i stopped at the end of the ramp and when it was my turn to go the car had again no power. my foot was pushing the gas peddle to the floor and the car just began to roll, i quickly had to turn on my hazard lights and roll to the side of the road. my husband and i waited for a few moments and then the car drove normal. this has happened a few times to me now, always after driving on the highway for about 30-45 mins. i have been looking online and have seen many complaints about this same issue, but nissan refuses to file any kind of recall. i have owned a few nissans but after this, and reading all the complaints about the same problem this is my last one. i could have killed myself or someone else if this had caused an accident. it seems to me that everyone driving a rogue is driving a ticking bomb since you have no idea when this is going to happen. this needs to be addressed and investigated as to why nissan is not fixing an issue that they know exists. do they care that little about the safety of their customers.
Traveling on the highway 70-75 mph suddenly the car lost power and sped down to 45 -50 mph,i try to press the gas down to the floor and no results' pulled over for 10 minutes and then resumed to drive.i checked the ratings and notice many complaints about the same problem .very dangerous situation,i don't think nissan wants anybody kill on the road because of negligence ! pay attention to the complaints and re-call the vehicle before a casualty happens please!
After driving on the highway for about an hour, the car decelarates and i am unable to keep up with traffic. this will continue until i am going about 55 mph. once i get off the highway and stop, the car will not go again until after a few minutes. this can be very dangers when trying to get into traffic after traveling onthe highway. this has happened 4 times now. this needs to be recalled by nissan asap.
While driving on the highway, my 2010 nissan rogue will lose power. i have to press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the car decelerates; there is absolutely nothing i can do. the last incident occurred 8/11/2016. i was driving at about 75mph; on a highway which is flat and the car completely lost power; speed went down to about 60 mph. finally regained speed on flat stretch of road but every time we hit a slight incline we would lose power. i was using the cruise control and when this happened it would just decelerate completely. it did it sporadically. after i stopped and then restarted the car and proceeded again, it seemed better for a short time; then it would start up again. it's very scary and everyone was passing us.....including other nissan rogues and some tiny cars?? this is clearly an issue that needs a recall!! please help!
I have nissan rouge 2010. i bought it brand new. everything was ok until last 7, 8 months when start with problems. every time when i drive car more than 45 + miles on highway my speed and power goes rapidly down from 70 mph to 40mph and below with noise from engine. if you try to accelerate does not work. you press pedal to the floor nothing is happening. the worst part is all this come without any warnings. i did some online research and i was shocked that a lot of people have same problem. most likely is transmission. yesterday me, my wife and five years old daughter were driving from houston, tx to san antonio tx which is 180 miles, i was driving 70-75 mph on i-10 when same thing happened again i lost my speed to under 40 mph and 18 wheeler behind us almost hit us. we were very lucky that day. i think problems with those small suvs somebody needs to take seriously and those vehicles should be recall before tragedies starts. 06/26/2016
I have a 2010 nissan rogue that has 60,000 miles and the last couple of years it has began to lose speed when on the highway going 65mph. when i would push on the gas pedal it would not accelerate past 40mph. this would happen when driving longer than 1 hour and when going uphill. none of the service lights would light up, but it was very scary driving on a highway going 65mph one minute and then 40mph the next minute, especially this highway has a minimum speed limit of 55mph! this has been my only real safety issue with this vehicle other than the tires constantly deflating and the awd does not do as well i expected in the snow.
While driving on the highway, my 2010 nissan rouge suddenly would drop the speed to under 55mph. i would push the pedal to the floor but it still would not accelerate. no warnings or engine light displayed on the panel. this was a very scary experience. what is someone didn't pay attention and rear-ended me because of my sudden speed reduction without a warning. i am scared to drive my car on a interstate. i paid a lot of money for it and now it has a very limited use. i only hope that nissan will carefully look into this problem. someone's life could be lost because of it. this is a very serious safety issue and i know that i'm not the first person to make this complaint. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving 70 mph over smooth or flat road surfaces, the vehicle felt as if it were on an incline. the vehicle decelerated to 20 mph. the failure was experienced numerous times. on one occasion, the vehicle decelerated and the contact was able to move the vehicle to the left lane. the contact had to place the gear into reverse and reverse the vehicle in order to shift into drive. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission failed. the contact consulted a second independent mechanic who stated that the transmission could not be repaired. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
While driving on the highway, car will lose power. we press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and car decelerates; there is absolutely no power. the last incident occurred 5/13/2016. we were driving at about 80mph; we were on a flat stretch of road and the car completely lost power; speed went down to about 40 mph. finally regained speed on flat stretch of road but every time we hit a slight incline we would lose power. part of the time we were on a two lane hi-way and cars were backing up behind us. then, after going along with no problems for a period of time we pulled of at an exit. after stopping at a stop sign when we tried to move gas pedal went to the ground and car did not move-then it lurched suddenly and accelerated. later in the drive-on a flat ground going 80 mph car lurched and decelerated --as i said, this has happened before; this last incident was most frustrating as we were on a long road trip and feeling very unsafe
We have a 2010 nissan rouge that will be driving fine then all of a sudden it starts decelerating to less than 70 mph on a busy interstate. even trying to push the gas pedal all the way down does not do anything. we purchased this nissan for our child to drive to college because we thought it would be safe. we have major concerns about this happening every time it is driven on the interstate. does not have this problem when driven just locally. it only has 65k miles on it. thought nissan's were supposed to last forever and be safe. don't feel safe sending my child to college in it anymore because this is happening so frequently.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while driving on an incline at 40 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 30 mph. the failure was experienced several times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission assembly needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 55,000.
Almost since i bought the car, i felt while driving that the motor was shaking and i took it to a mechanic that told me must be the axle, then i took it to the universal nissan in orlando, and they told me that it was nothing, and that was normal in the cvt, motors. it kept doing it and i took it again to see if there was a recall, nothing was found, now after the warranty expired i took it for a oil change and they found that the right axle have to be replace entirely, since the oil transmission is leaking from it, and that the part that hold the motor have to be replace too, since the bushing fell apart and it is dangerous, i know there are others with the same problem and nissan doesn't want to fix it unless a lot of money is paid, they were just giving excuses so the warranty expired, so now they want to charge a lot. this should be included in recalls.
In highway driving conditions the transmission will over heat. the transmission then goes into safe mode and disengages from the engine. the car then loses power. you are then stuck on a highway with traffic around you doing 70 mph and your car has no acceleration, no power and you are just stuck. this has happened on more than one occasion. nissan claims nothing is wrong.
Vehicle would not accelerate while driving the transmition was shifted into neutral than into drive without response, i turned off the car and it would not restart, i let the car rest it started after about 20 min, all of this occured after a long trip 1.5 hours then a short break 0.5 -1 hour. this problem could not be replicated by the dealership mechanics. please see attached url for same type of complaints. http://www.carcomplaints.com/nissan/rogue/2010/drivetrain/power_train.shtml
Transmission makes grinding noise upon accelerating to normal speeds from complete stop, at times car loses aceleration after driven on highway/freeway and come to a stop, constant shaking and grinding/squeaking noise from transmission upon acceleration.
We purchased the car as a new car demo. it had about 5000 miles on it. the car ran pretty good for 60/70 thousand miles and then we started noticing that when we went on longer drives(highway), the car would go into a "powerless" state when you stopped or slowed down. we later became familiar with the term "limp" mode or "safe" mode. the transmission goes into these modes when it is overheating. i took it to the dealership when it first happened and they said there was nothing they could do because no computer codes had surfaced for the trouble. this visit was around 80k, well under our 125000 mile warranty. the most recent time was 2014 we went out of town again and the check engine light came on. being about 400 miles from home, we stopped at a local auto parts store and had them check the code. they told me the clutch/torque converter was making a code pop up. we preceded to drive home and took it to the dealership the next day. at this point we had 119000 miles on it still under the warranty. thecheck engine light went off before we could get there. the dealership once again said nothing was showing on the computer even though i told them exactly what code i had learned of before returning to the shop. they again claimed to not be able to work on the car without the code. i guess they aren't real mechanics! anyways, we now have 140000 miles on the car and the code is present again and all nissan can say is it is out of warranty. they offered to give us "employee" pricing on a new car but completely refuse to help with the repair. doesn't make us feel good about owning another nissan.
9-5-15 was making a right turn car came to sudden stop in the middel of turn.ending up finding out the tranission blow cost me 4500.00 to put a new transission in. once i got the transission put in i toke the vehicle back telling then when at a stop sign or lights the car would die out. sometimes the car has no power when taking off. car has been to 3 differant shops for the dieing out, it has no codes no one can find whats wrong with the car.
After a 30 minutes to 1 hour drive on a highway, the vehicle drops in speed when driving uphill. vehicle speed decreases and stays no more than 35 mph; resulting in an unsafe, hazardous condition. nissan diagnosis found to be a transmission problem and needs to replace it, p0725 and u1000, however cvt warranty extension has expired.
2nd complaint of repeated issue, subsequent occurrence. 2010 nissan rogue lost power and decelerated from 70 mph to approximately 40 mph while traveling on highway, hazards applied however vehicles approaching had to change lanes. on this occurrence a vehicle check engine light appeared. pulled off road and when accelerator was depressed engine revved to approximately 2500 rpm with no forward motion then lurched forward rapidly accelerating then lost power again before returning to normal operation. note that nissan dealership acknowledges that this is a known issue, instructed that the cvt transmission warranty has been extended to 120k miles and to bring to dealership. nissan states this is the result of transmission overheating and causing the vehicle to enter safety (also known as limp) mode.
The car developed a problem where the transmission was slipping and i noticed fluid leaking. took to dealer, and i had additional coverage for repairs and break down. they told me the enclosed transmission developed a leak due to corrosion. that corrosion damage is not covered, and it cost $400.00 to remove the part rather than replace it. the car has a grinding vibrating sound when driving. the cvt is known to have this issue, and the transmission is sealed so you can't check your fluid level and it is required to only use nissan manufactured transmission fluid. the cvt is tied into a fail safe mode that can be activated by high temperature in the engine. a cooling kit has been recommended but i have read mixed posts as to the dealerships charging to put it into the car. the car has been known to totally lose power while driving if it goes into this fail safe mode or when the cvt just fails completely. warranty was extended to 10yrs/120000 miles for cvt.
Was driving highway speed for an hour when the vehicle stopped responding to acceleration. got off the highway and allowed the car to rest. upon another hour at highway speeds the car again did not respond to acceleration.
Pulling away from multiple stop signs, the rogue would not accelerate even with pedal pressed to floor. people were honking behind me and passing. had this same issue with going through traffic circles to slow down and yield and then try to accelerate again. rogue took several minutes to go up to 40mph. i finally had to pull over into parking lot. i turned car off and waited about 5 minutes to then try again. when i turned the rogue on this time, it seemed to function normal. i was able to continue at normal speeds and acceleration the remainder of my trip. my husband and our mechanic were not able to replicate the problem. i have read that many people seem to have this same issue. very dangerous since you expect car to move as you pull into traffic and it does not. there were no lights on dash at time of incident. i have noticed the vdc & slip light has come on several times over the past 2 weeks for no apparent reason. including today about 3 hours before this acceleration problem. i had been driving to several places throughout afternoon with car shut off between. i would estimate i drove a total of 60 miles over a 5 hour period. car started acting up during the last 30 minutes before my final destination. when this took place, it took me about 1 hour to go 17 miles. normally it takes me just under 30 minutes.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving 60 mph, the transmission failed without warning. the contact stated that the transmission failure caused the vehicle not to accelerate. the failure occurred twice. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 79,000.
After driving about an hour, the cvt no longer works and the car will not accelerate, even if you put the pedal to the floor. it will not go above 2,000 rpms and if you go up a hill you will lose accelerations. this happens frequently after an hour or more of driving. the only way to temporarily fix the issue is to turn the car off for a while. it has almost caused major accidents on the highway.
Car failed to accelerate while on the highway going 70mph. this is a very dangerous, precarious place for nissan to put drivers as they attempt to accelerate on the highway. this transmission problem is in need of a recall before lives are lost.
