Problems with 2013 Nissan Pathfinder POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 20 124 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

My husband and i purchased the 2013 nissan pathfinder, november 2012. we traded in our chevrolet tahoe and decided with gas prices increasing we needed a vehicle that we can save a little on. we put our trust in nissan. about 11 months after purchasing, i was leaving work and backed out of my parking space proceeded to the stop sign. at the stop sign i accelerated and it moved forward a few feet, then it made a loud noise. before i knew it the car was on, but would not move. would not move forward or in reverse. the good thing is i had a person behind me that noticed i had car problems and pushed the car out of the lanes of traffic. got the car towed to nissan dealership, and they just informed us that they could not figure out why the card is not working. the transmission is going into gear, just not moving. now their shop manager has decided to replace the entire transmission. this is one week that we have been in a rental....should get our car friday. will my car ever drive the same again with a new transmission ? *tr

Transmission shuttering problem: traveling on los osos valley road, slo ca. accelerated out of a turn to about 25 miles per hour; when the vehicle shuttered 5 to 6 times. minimal loss of power, and then resumed to normal. feels like vehicle is going over speed bums, but there are none. this 2013 pathfinder is new, with 2200 miles on it. this is now the fourth time this has happened. the shuttering seems to happen when coming out of turns, while accelerating up to 30-35 miles per hour. nissan needs to come clean on this issue. so far, they are playing "take into a authorize service dealer". most likely, nissan knew of this problem and is hoping that all new 2013 pathfinder owners will act as a "vehicle delivery service" to resolve nissan transmission problem. not quite. . *tr

Transmission shuddered, squeaky noise in the brake system with my foot off the brake pedal. *tr

Transmission shudders / judders at light acceleration during low speed. i took my vehicle to dealership on 1/05/2014 with 10,211 miles on it. their technician confirmed that this is a known problem of 2013 pathfinder, they gave the transmission a update. the problem continued so upon going back to the dealer they then installed a new transmission. it has not even been 3 weeks and we are already losing power and starting to shudder again. *tr

Received my pathfinder back after 15 days in the shop for replacement of abs modulator and shuttering in the transmission. nissan service dept. told me they did a modification to the transmission to stop the shuttering. service manager told me there was still a shutter at around 20-30 miles an hour and that was just how the vehicle ran. left for a 500 mile trip day after picking up for these fixes. on the hwy. it lost power on hills and shutter was harder then before. rpm's were higher than normal which decreased gas mileage by 5 mpg. called service dept. and they told me to take the overdrive off. vehicle did run slightly better on the hwy. but once on surface streets it would hesitate (not move for 2-5 seconds) and then lunge forward when taking off from a stop. other times it wouldn't move at all. when in reverse it would not move then would jerk backwards. also would roll forward on a slight decline even when in drive or reverse. finally on the way back home the vehicle's rpm's went to 5000 and got stuck there, check engine light came on. we pulled off the highway at nearest exit. on the off ramp vehicle stop moving. fortunately there was no one behind us. had vehicle towed to a nissan dealer and they said the transmission has 3 modulators that went out. vehicle has now been out of service for more than 30 days and the transmission is back ordered. nissan corporate has contacted me and wants to do a repurchase or replacement. replacement would only mean that we would be getting the same defective transmission but in a different pathfinder. repurchase means we are out a lot of money. *tr

Upon accelerating, i noticed jerking/shuttering. this has happened 2-3 times since then. taking to dealer tomorrow. *tr

The problem started within the first two weeks with shuddering.at the time that this happened, i was unsure as to whether the vehicle was about to stall.i immediately returned it to gray-daniel nissan north service department and explained what i had experienced.the service writer informed me that they had not had that problem before when i was called back, i was informed that they could not find anything wrong and that the problem could not be duplicated. at that time i had the technician ride with me.as soon as i left the dealership with the technician in the passenger seat, the shudder occurred.he felt it and upon return to the service department he told the service writer that he felt it. nothing was done about it that day.i had to reschedule an appointment to bring it back.i was told that they reset something and that this should take care of the problem.it did not.i have taken my vehicle back an additional 3 times for a total of 4.each time i am told they cannot duplicate it.on wednesday, january 29th, i was told by the service department that the technician could not duplicate the problem. again, i am told that if it happens again to bring it in. the saga continues and i am still left with a new vehicle that has problems.this problem did not just occur in september when i made my purchase. research shows that this problem has been there for a while. but as a consumer, are we told that there may be an issue with the vehicle you are about to purchase? no. all that i believed in and trusted (nissan reliability) is now coming back to haunt me. *tr

I have had about 5 incidents of failure when i hit the gas from a stand still. when i push the gas pedal, i will accelerate a little (enough to get in traffic), then nothing. i lift my foot off the gas and put it back down. still nothing. it is a good 4 seconds before i get power to go. this has led to a couple near crashes, as 4 seconds is a long time if you are pulling out in traffic. *tr

when traffic slows down below 10 mph and immediately speeds back up above 20 mph,our nissan pathfinder may unexpectedly, and violently shutter and experience a total loss off power. this has caused potentially dangerous situations by forcing me to slow below 5 mph before car will regain normal operation. this appears be an extreme design flaw in the transmission that nissan has yet to correct.

I have leased a brand new nissan pathfinder. after driving the car for a month i had noticed that the car was attempting to stall each time i made a right/left turn - it was almost like gas was getting to the engine. on february 11th, 2014 i went to the dealership where i purchased the car to have the brake recall repaired on my car, and i had mentioned to the service manager about the stalling of my car each time i made a turn. after they had finished with my car, they had advised that they investigated my concern and couldn't find anything. i currently have 4700 miles on the car, and my plan is to speak with the dealership in regards to possibly turning the car in and getting a new truck all together (not a pathfinder since i have researched and found that this is a recurring problem for them). i have a three and five year old, i feel extremely uncomfortable driving the car with this known issue from the manufacturer. *tr

Was driving in traffic and tapping gas pedal very lightly maintaining speed with traffic the transmission began to shudder and lost power. when i stepped harder on gas pedal the car hesitated and then went. it felt like running over rumble strips. about 10 minutes later it did it again so i called dealer cause the car was brand new. they said they were aware of the issue with this model and to bring it in 2 days later on weds 10/3/13. i asked if it was safe to drive it or should i have it towed they said to drive it. it did the same thing multiple times that day i was able to record one event on an iphone. i brought the vehicle into the dealer early as i did not want to cause any damage to the transmission which appeared to be slipping and banging. the vehicle has been there for multiple days already and they predict at least two weeks at which time they plan to change the transmission with a remanufactured trans. i said i would not accept a used part/ remanufactured as the vehicle is brand new and was very expensive. i bought a brand new vehicle for a reason i wanted new not used. wanted no problems huh they referred me to nissan consumer affairs. they called and said they are reviewing the issue with the dealer and will get back to me 10/8/13 a week has already past and no resolution. the vehicle was also in for service for the passenger airbag as it was displayed at delivery and the vehicle was returned to dealer minutes after delivery and was kept for 4 days to make that repair. all told the vehicle was in service for about 1 month and appears that it will be in the shop for 3 weeks. very disappointed and not happy with answers from nissan thus far. *tr

I have a recurring issue with my 2013 pathfinder shuddering and losing power at low speeds (20 - 30mph). this issue occurs daily and appears to be getting worse with approximately 15,000 miles on the vehicle. the shuddering and lose of power last for approximately 15 seconds and requires me to press the accelerator and power through the issue which is a safety concern. i have contacted the dealer who was aware of the issue and stated that nissan sent each dealer a "video" to help assess the issue and that most vehicles won't qualify based on the parameters set by the manufacturer. he said the real problem is going to be "figuring out how to fix all the other vehicles that don't qualify. *tr

The 2013 and 14 pathfinder have a faulty cvt transmission that nissan can't seem to fix. the cvt will "judder" between 18 and 35 mph. it feels like riding over rumble strips. this is a problem as the car can not accelerate during the judder and it is also an unexpected behavior which could cause someone to panic. for instance, if you try to pass or pull out in front of someone, you may find the car not moving. nissan has tried multiple fixes for this - started with tcm reprogramming, then torque converter replacement, then entire cvt replacement. many vehicles, like mine, are on their 3rd cvt. worse, they are replacing them with remanufactured cvts. this is a serious defect that has safety implications. i pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle with plenty of distance/time if my car was working properly but when my cvt started juddering and my vehicle slowed, i was almost hit. *tr

I purchased my 2013 nissan pathfinder, less than 6 months ago. we currently have 7100 miles on it. we have not even had our 2nd oil change and i have already had it in the shop 4 times and i have to take it in today for the same issue, dealing with the transmission. at roughly 1000 miles, we took it back to the dealership in knoxville tn due to a stuttering when coming to a stop, putting the car in park and when taking off from a stop. we was told this was due to the new transmission in the 2013 and the car was trying to get in the best gear for the most efficient gas mileage. came time for our 1st oil change at 3500 and we told them to check the stutter again and was told that it was due to the transmission, but the computer would correct itself. we took the car back to the dealer at the beginning of sept and was given a rental for 2 days and was told the problem was due to the torque converter and they would replace the part. they also said the fixed the airbag recall at this appointment. after 2 days the part came in and the vehicle was returned in 4 days after the repair. on 9/26/13 the vehicle was still stuttering when i came to a red light on a hill. the light turned green and i pressed the gas pedal and the car did not move, but the engine rpm moved. then the car kicked into gear and moved. i came to another hill and the vehicle was barely able to make it up the hill. i called the dealer and they told me to bring it in on today, 9/27/13 to have it checked again. i am worried about the safety of my family due to these problems in the transmission. *tr

My transmission has a shudder anywhere between 10-20 mph and also has a lugging around 50 mph. my transmission has been replaced, reprogrammed and still has the same issues. *js

Less than a block from my home the car suddenly lurched then resumed normally. as i pulled into my slightly elevated driveway, the car shuttered then stopped. when i stepped on the accelerator it revved but did not move. when i exited the vehicle, transmission fluid was draining out and a trail of fluid went from my car all the way down the road. the car was immobile. the dealership picked up the car and found that a clamp to the transmission cooler line was missing and the hose came off resulting in loss of fluid. the dealership replaced the clamp and fluids and did a complete inspection of the car before returning it to me. both the dealership and nissan no. america executive offices went above and beyond to correct the problem. the car now seems to be fully operational and has shown no signs of residual issues. as a consumer i am very satisfied with the outcome, the dealership and nissan. *tr

Vehicle shutters at 19 mph, loss of power. *js

My pathfinder begin to shuddering from 500 mile and continue until now 3000 miles. it happen at 1000-1100 rpm, some time at 2500 rpm. i have take the vehicle to dealership but look like they do not have any solution to fix this, the technician said it will reoccur after replace transmission. *tr

2013 nissan pathfinder shudders at low speed or accelerating from stop position. have taken vehicle to dealer several times (12) since sept 2013. replaced transmission 3 times, transmission software update performed twice. each time afterwards i was told some made up story from it's working fine now to you must have been spinning your tires on the wet roads. i took videos of the violent shuddering and loss of acceleration to the service dept and was told there is no fix available for this transmission issue and to drive it as best you can. 55k for a new car to drive the best i can!!!??? contacted nissan corporation to file a complaint, after 5 days was denied any relief. contacted a lemon law attorney and filed a claim. within 2 days of nissan being notified by the attorney, they were willing to settle. i received a full buy out and refund of all deposits and monthly payments. god riddance!!!! buyer beware! *tr

Purchased in aug 2013. sept 2013 at low speeds under 25 mph, the vehicle begins to shudder and looses acceleration. nissan dealership could not find a problem. oct 2013 my vehicle was back in for the same issue. this time nissan replaced the transmission. nov 2013 back to the dealer for same issue, was told a software update was just released for a computer upgrade for the transmission. problem still existed. returned a 4th time in dec 2013 and was told i must have been spinning my wheels in the snow, no problems were found. in addition to the transmission problems, the roof started leaking and the water ran behind the dashboard. a gasket needed to be replaced, shortly after i began to have electronic issues with wipers, volume control for bluetooth, radio. some type of module was replaced this took two return trips before a problems was found. again within a month these electrical issues returned. on monday 3/24 the transmission once again failed as i was making a left turn from a stop. with this incident i was almost killed by a tractor trailer because i was stuck in the middle of the intersection and could not get the vehicle to move. luckily the truck was able to swerve behind me a the last moment to avoid the collision. restarting the car several times cleared the problem and was immediately took it back to my dealership. i explained everything that has been happening with my vehicle since purchased in aug 2013, 33 days of service so far and no resolution. i have also filed a complaint with nissan consumer affairs, case # [xxx]. nissan admitted there is a problem with the transmission but does not have a fix. at this time the vehicle is not safe to drive and the dealer has put me in a free loaner car until they have a resolution. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

June 4, 2013 i purchased a 2013 nissan pathfinder platinum model. around september 2013, while ascending a small hill i noticed a shudder shake that lasts about 4 to 6 seconds. the situation happens while driving around 25 miles per hour when accelerating from low speeds. it occurs intermittently so i thought it could be the pavement however within the past year it has been more frequent. i have experienced the shaking during slow turns and upon hills the transmission feels stuck and you finally feel the gear kick in and after making it uphill or stopping vehicle drives smooth again.. it seems as if the car loses acceleration power and i have to release the gas pedal in order for it to stop shaking and then return to normal. nissan needs to carefully investigate and fix this serious safety issue and issue a mass vehicle recall. *tr

My car started missing like it was going into neutral and rpm's went up to 5 and engine was roaring while i was on the highway going 65mph. the suv lost all power and had to coast over to side of highway. rested the suv for 5-10 minutes then started to move along and car would only go between 20-40 mph with intermittent periods of losing all power just like i was in neutral. this is a brand new vehicle only two weeks old and having 666 miles at the time of incident. the transmission was diagnosed with internal failure of transmission by the nissan dealership. *tr

I purchased the nissan pathfinder on august 5, 2013. within 2 weeks, the vehicle would shudder when driving between 20-30 miles per hour and suddenly lose power. i tried different types of gasoline without success. i finally brought it back to the dealership on september 13. they said it needed a "sensor in the transmission", they would order the part and i could bring it back the following wednesday. i brought it in on wednesday. i was told it would be an all day job. near the end of the day, i was told that the part didn't fit and they had ordered another one.it would be in the following monday. they arranged for me to get a rental car. they had the car for another ten days. they called for me to pick it up. while driving back from the rental agency, with the service advisor in the car, it did it again! they did not offer another rental or to take it back and fix it, so i took it home. a week later, the shuddering was so bad, that i took it back in again. they ordered an entirely new transmission (another week to receive the part and install it). (why put a new transmission in a new car that already has a new transmission that had been rebuilt once already when they put in the torque converter?) it makes no sense. meanwhile, i'm terrified to have to take this car back again. *tr

I was driving the vehicle at approximately 43 mph; when i applied the brakes (without stopping) and began to accelerate again the vehicle shuddered for about 3 seconds. this same occurrence happened periodically again over a 2-day period. i took the vehicle to sheehy nissan (short pump) in richmond and was advised that the transmission need to be replaced and that nissan was sending another transmission for the dealership to install. my wife called nissan north america regarding the vehicle and was given a case number; i also contacted nissan by email about two days later as we had not received a call back and filed a compliant asking that me vehicle either be replaced with another brand new 2013 nissan pathfinder sl or that the organization refund my money. in the end nissan consumer affairs refused to honor my request and advised that they would only repair the vehicle. *tr

When i start to accelerate my 2013 pathfinder, it acts like i have run out of gas. my husband thinks it has something to do with the transmission. this has happened several times, twice yesterday (5-19-14). *tr

The car started to vibrate and surge . it makes loud bang noises at the front of the car. it feels like its loosing power and its hard to pick up. it has done this while approaching to a car or slowing down. i took it to the dealer and they reprogram the computer but still doing the same problem over and over. *js

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated shortly after the vehicle was purchased it would hesitate and jerk while shifting gears. the vehicle was taken to the manufacturer for a diagnostic test where the dealer stated that it needed a new transmission; however, the dealer only reprogrammed the computer. the problem persisted so the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. the dealer stated they would need to test drive the vehicle in order to duplicate the failure before installing the new transmission. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and as a result declined to repair the vehicle the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the approximate failure was 1100 miles. rk

Vehicle was at a stop light. when the light turned green, i started to accelerate. after a few seconds, the vehicle lost power and started to slow down to a crawl even with my foot still on the gas pedal. the loss of power lasted 2-3 seconds and then the vehicle started picking back up and drove normal again. this incident happened twice in one week. took the vehicle to the dealership but they could not replicate the problem so they returned the vehicle to me and said the vehicle has no problems. this is a safety issue since i could have been crossing and intersection with oncoming cars and could have been in an accident. *tr

Intermittent transmission shudder ranging from mild to violent with accompanying decrease of power. shudder primarily occurs at low speed in the 20-40 mph range but has also occurred at highway speeds when transmission is not shifting. shudder seems to be caused by a variety of variables including speed and degree of inclination of the road. loss of power has occurred in potentially dangerous passing situations, took to the dealer 2 times and i already did my 3 times, first reset the computer, second change the torque converter and i know the 3 going to be the transmission change. *tr

Car jutters when accelerating after a stop and when turning. the car was purchased in june, and has done it about 15 times since. the first time we took it into the dealership, they reset something in the transmission and said that should fix the problem. well, it didn't fix the problem. we took the car back to the dealership twice, they test drove it and said they never experience the juttering. therefore, they haven't done anything about it. now it's december and i received a recall notice for something else regarding the antilock brake system software. i am very dissatisfied with this car and the service that nissan has provided; they haven't helped me one bit even after filing a complaint with nissan corporate. *tr

Transmission shudders as if running over the rumble strips on the side of the road. loss of power when shudders as well. transmission will have to be replaced. *tr

The car started to vibrate and surge and loud bang noises at the front the car it feels like its loosing power and its hard to pick up, has done this while approaching a red light or slowing down. *jb

My transmission began slipping, that was the first time i noticed it distinctly. the other times had been going up hills or slowing down. i came within a couple of feet from rear-ending the car in front of me because my car didn't shift downward at a stop light. a minute later i had to pull over because my car wouldn't shift into 3rd gear (automatic). this same thing happened several more times, i took it in to nissan they put a stop-gap fix, a "modulator" on it. they already had reports knowing that wasn't going to fix it, but did it anyway. nissan didn't test drive it, just gave it back to me. i drove it less than 2 miles & turned around, they kept my vehicle for 5 weeks, put in a refurbished transmission (in my new car). the transmission is starting to slip, again. they told me i could get compensation, but lied. i'm scared to drive it, but don't know what to do! we can't afford another vehicle. this is a lemon and needs to be recalled! the value has already started to drop more than $10,000. i spent several days and lots of gas money driving up to pick up my car, that wasn't ready! the repair shop was nice, but the corporate offices lied and were disrespectful every time. *tr

Vehicle began to shudder. was diagnosed as a bad transmission. the transmission was changed and problem returned at 3079 miles on the vehicle. *tr

Hi, i bought a 2013 nissan pathfinder platinum in may. as i have later found out, the model appears to have a shudder issue with the transmission which is affecting my vehicle as well. i reported this issue to my local nissan dealer (sheehy nissan manassas) in late august and they verified the issue. i was told parts were ordered and that my vehicle would be fixed in 1 month. it is nearly 2 months later and i am still waiting on a resolution. i monitor nissan pathfinder's facebook page, their technical service bulletins etc..... and it appears that nissan is trying different solutions like changing torque converter, reprogramming tcm, and even replacing the entire transmission...... and still no solid resolution. furthermore, the vehicles navigation system constantly freezes or does a hard reboot. i would like guidance on what can be done to expedite a resolution or if i am entitled to have nissan buy the vehicle back if they have no resolution in sight. i am concerned about the safety impact of a continued shudder and loss of power on this new vehicle. *tr

Upon acceleration, the transmission seems to stall for a brief moment. this is happening more frequently now and stalls a little longer each time upon acceleration. *tr

Several times and noticed that the transmission does not engage and the car loses speed. i took the car to the dealer and they told me that because is a cvt transmission was normal. but the car is still doing the same. *tr

Problem 1: we bought the vehicle new in july. after about two weeks the car begin to shudder between 15-20 mph. it feels like we are driving over rumble strips. we took the car to the nissan dealer where we purchased it. they said there was a campaign for the problem and would order a torque converter. we were told it was on back order. after two and half weeks the part was installed. the day we picked up the car it still had the same issues.we have notified the dealership of the continuing problem. problem 2: the front passenger side airbag goes on and off randomly, turning off the airbag. we told the dealership when we brought it in for the shuddering. they said it was a weight limit issue and the way we sit. we told them it does it for our son who weighs 90 pounds and that we sit the same way every time. we also told them it does it for me off and on in the same day and that our weight doesn't fluctuate that much in the same day. we were told it tested fine, so it will not need repair. just this morning i got in the passenger side the light was off, we went into a store and when i got back in the car the light was on. i have told the dealership about this again today. *tr

Driving 45 miles per hour on a straight level road, while accelerating to 40 mph, the vehicle began shaking violently; then began shuttering along with a drop in power; after 3 to 4 seconds, the vehicle returned to normal driving. this was the third occurrence since i purchased the 2013 pathfinder three months ago. . reading now, nhtsa database indicates multiple consumer complaints regarding the pathfinder transmission issue. *tr

The incident happened while driving the vehicle home from the dealership upon purchase. the milage on the car at that time was 290 mi. the car went into a bucking/jerking/lunging when we started to accelerate from a 35 mph zone to a 55 mph. over the next days and weeks it continued to occur while accelerating and also while maintaining consistent highway speeds. it also regularly experienced a rumble strip feel/sound when accelerating off a stop when traveling 20-40 mph. at first it happened every few days but within a month became a nearly daily experience. nissan acknowledged that it is a problem with the transmission, but have been unable to fix our vehicle after multiple attempts. about a month after owning the veh, they performed a computer update to attempt to fix but the fix failed. a month after that they replaced the torque converter to attempt to fix. that fixed the jerking/bucking/lunging but the rumble strip shudder still persists at random times when accelerating around 20-40 mph. it happens daily for a week or so... sometimes once a day, sometimes multiple times a day... then it won't do it for a week or so... then it returns again in the same pattern. our vehicle now has about 8200 miles and the problem continues. nissan has failed to fix our car despite an ongoing transmission problem. *tr

The car stared to shutter like driving over rumble strips, and lost of power. i have taken it to the dealer twice and you know what they said can't reproduce it. i hate taken car back to the dealer they never fix anything. please help!!!!! *tr

The vehicle would shudder and shake violently at low speeds - 17 to 25 mph. i was concerned that it would damage the vehicle and cause motor mounts and other parts to shake loose. i took the vehicle to a dealership in salisbury, md while i was on vacation and they said they could not duplicate the condition. they sent me on my way with no corrective measures. (yet it did it all the way home) upon returning home i took it back to the dealership where i purchased the car. they were much more supportive and stated they were aware of the problem with 2013 pathfinders and it would need a new torque converter and be reprogrammed. i left the car with them for over a week and they made the repairs. they stated they did not know if it would correct the problem. upon getting the car back it no longer shook and vibrated at low speeds but instead it then shook and vibrated violently at mid speeds (40 to 50 mph). i returned it to the dealership and they determined it needed a whole new transmission. they kept it 10 days...replaced the transmission. i picked it up 9/20/13. when i drove it home it would not go into gear. i had to shift it several times to get it to move out of neutral and finally it took hold. the following day it would not go into reverse. i was able to get it to connect after several attempts and drove it straight back to the dealership. i am back in a rental and have no idea what is going on with my vehicle. perhaps the violent shaking is what is causing the transmission fluid lines to come loose. i feel this vehicle is not safe.

I have the same problem with my pathfinder that i see several people having. the shuddering is like the transmission is slipping and it has happened in various situations. it is not a sideways shudder like a shake, it is a lack of forward motion (while the engine revs to higher rpms) so severe that it feels like being rear ended and has nearly slammed me into the steering wheel more than once. i have had two different dealerships check it and both said there was no problem because it is not throwing an error code on the computer. finally, it did it all the way to my work one morning (30+ miles) so i took it to the dealership where i purchased it again. same results, except they tried to pass it off as a bad wheel bearing and replaced one of my wheel bearings. they called me to tell me it was ready for pick up and i refused to pick it up until the problem is fixed (i now have 40k miles, warranty is getting close to being up). i could go on and on about how this has played out, but long story short, they are now in the process of replacing my coil packs and if that doesn't work, then they are going to try replacing the transmission. it is very disappointing since the first 2 nissans i owned were great vehicles. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while accelerating, the vehicle vibrated and shook. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, who advised that the torque converter needed to be replaced. the manufacturer denied any assistance with the repair. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 600 and the current mileage was 1,000. the vin was not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle stalled and jerked when accelerating or decelerating at any speed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the torque converter. the torque converter was replaced however, the failure was not corrected. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 600 and the current mileage was 4,000.

Intermittent shudders as if i was driving on a rumble strip and loss of power after an hour of drive. *tr

Approximately two months after purchase, i began having trouble with my 2013 nissan pathfinder, noticing that it "shudders" and loses power when accelerating from a standstill or at low speeds. this typically happens between approximately 20 to 40 miles per hour. the sensation is described as being like "driving over a rumble strip" and the power loss occurs for about three to five seconds. the dealership has tried to correct this issue on three different occasions through a software update, new torque converter and even a new transmission. i dropped the car of this morning for the fourth time because the problem continues to occur and this problem substantially impairs the use of my vehicle and creates a serious safety hazard. *tr

Vehicle is rumbling or shaking at slow speed. it had happened a few times before but seems to get worse recently and was very noticeable when i was driving up/down at the airport parking garage and having to maintain slow speed. it also happened from time to time while on slow speed but happened most of the time while making turns. it last a few seconds and during that time it was as if the car was riding on very rough continuous surface (like driving on the warning strip to slow speed at the toll booths). i just took the vehicle to the dealer which the description on the invoice said "confirm vehicle surge at 30/33 mph pc1970 0.6 perform tcm reprogram and vehicle road test problem steel there. reschedule; need to call tech line". the service adviser at the dealer asked me to keep driving if the problem is still there and it is. less than a mile out of the dealer, while making turn at the traffic light, the noticeable rumbling happened again. i am rescheduling this for service. i hope it is fixed before our road trip. *tr

My wife purchased her 2013 nissan pathfinder on 04/06/13, from metro nissan in montclair california. the vehicle had only 35 miles. at approximately 3000 miles, the vehicle's transmission began to shutter and jerk the vehicle when driven at approximately 20 miles per hour. initially, it occured not too often and we did not think much of it. the shuttering got much stronger as time went on and became more often. during these occurances it appeared that the vehicle lost power which caused the vehicle to slow down. this created a safety concern due to nearly being struck by vehicles a few times while puling out of driveways and merging into highway lanes. its a safety issue and nissan needs to fix. on 10/29/13, i dropped off the pathfinder at metro nissan, with aproximately 6281 miles. i test drove vehicle with a technician. the technician observed and felt the vehicle shutter and tremble at approximately 20mph. the transmission was replaced, due to internal damage, with a new transmission. the new transmission appears to be fine but i have read numerous reviews online from around the us with similar problems and concerns. some have had transmissions replaced and problem have continued. my question is, what is nissan going to do to fix this problem. its truly a safety hazzard and my wife and i are concerned that the problem will return. nissan or dealer does not seem to have solution or fix for the problem. *tr

Incident happen multiple times from july 20th 2013 up to september 2013 only in hot days with outside temperature around 85 degrees. all situations were very similar. i will describe just one. i was trying to merge to traffic from right to left. i moved slowly around 25 mph and i sow that i can merge to line so i accelerate lightly to around 30-32mph where rpm was around 1000-1500rpm. when i was changing lines car start shake like i'm going trough slow down strips, i remember speed because i got scared and i took look to dash if engine light is on and if engine is shutting down. i saw rpm still up and car started move normally after 1-2 sec. when i pressed accelerator. i thought that car will stop and i will get hit by car coming from rear. i had 2 years old daughter in car with me at that time. no so funny nissan. i visited dealer 2 times. dealer tried to replicate issue but they did that at morning when is not so hot. they couldn't replicate it and they sent me home with nothing because nissan didn't released recall for my vin. *tr
