I bought the vehicle a year ago at 79,000 miles. in january of 2015, i hit the 100,000 mile mark and almost immediately started having transmission problems. loud and jerky shifting and smelling foul in the air conditioner. nissan dealership said that there was an issue and since i was out of warranty, (100,000 miles) that they weren't liable. he said i could drive it because it shouldn't break down for another few thousand miles. so i just parked it. i would only drive it if i absolutely had no other choice. friday, may 15 2015 i was coming home from a doctors appointment and the vehicle completely broke down. the transmission went out and i was in the middle of a busy road with my 4 year old in the car with me. at 40 mph, the rpm was at almost 5,000. i pulled over to call my husband and when we put it in reverse to back out of the parking space, it wouldn't go into reverse. i had to tow it home and it's completely broken down. i don't have 4,000 to spend on a transmission and radiator.
The transmission cooler leaked coolant into the transmission causing the transmission to fail unexpectedly while driving down the highway at a speed of 40-45 mph
Beginning in november 2014, the heater would not blow out warm or hot air if the car was not traveling on the interstate. at speeds below 50mpg, only cool or cold air would blow out of the heater vents and at an idle, only cold air would be emitted. the radiator was flushed three times in an effort to remedy this problem. our mechanic thought there could be a blockage in the line due to the age of the vehicle. once flushed, the heat would work for about 45 days. there were months of my driving to work without any real heat in the winter of 2014. after fluid changes and radiator flushes, the 2007 nissan pathfinder now has 111,000 miles on it. the air conditioning is working this summer, but towards the end of may 2015, the transmission started "jumping". this usually occurs around 40-45 mph. the engine will rev at a high rpm while traveling down an incline or a hill. the transmission feels as though it is "going out" and upon reading reviews on your site, this seems to be a common problem with this make and model of vehicle. there are times when you can hear the transmission "clunk" into gear when starting or stopping the engine.
Transmission of my nissan pathfinder 2007 failed. the radiator spilled the cooling liquid into the transmission, which then proceeded to cause irrepairable damage to the transmission. transmission replaced with a rebuilt transmission
I have a 2007 nissan pathfinder. i was driving it to work and all of a sudden i just felt my car`s engine is having a heart attack, - a myocardial infraction. then it started choking minute by minute. by then i knew my silver 2007 pathfinder is turning blue. gotta call the code blue team. i am a nurse so this is the only way i can explain what i think what's going on rather than mechanically. the car is 7 years old, always used premium gas, use synthetic oil on it, always took the car to the dealership for diagnostic check up and maintenance, only 63,000 less mileage, i'm the sole driver. got it towed to the dealership, got diagnosed by mechanic and told me that the timing chain system is screwed, and eventually damaged the pistons, then there was some leakage....they asked me $4,100 for the repair. this expensive repair cost is very unexpected and not my priority right now cause i have other more important to spent it with. and reading "nissan north america named in class action lawsuit alleging failure to disclose defect in timing chain systems which results in premature failure". nissan never issued a recall and now the consumers has to pay costly repairs. i paid $4,480 something. *tr
First the fuel sensor went out. once i got that fixed (640.00) the fuel tank wouldn't fill up and the gauges were off. then fluid leaked into the radiator and i had to replace the radiator (1,000.00). then i had to flush it twice. then the car overheated because the thermostat was gone. $250.00. now the car won't start and i'm being told it's the ignition gone bad. all of this has happen over three months. i will never buy another nissan again. this was my third nissan and last!!!!!!! where are the recalls if the same problems are occurring. *tr
Transmission on the pathfinder was very rough shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. we returned it to a dealer, who said it needed a new transmission. it seems that this has been a very common problem, and it seemed the company should have done more to remedy the problem than just hoping the newest extended warranties ran out before the cars needed repairs. *tr
I purchased my pathfinder used. with 78,000 miles and within 10 days of having it the transmission dropped completely. well we took it to the dealer and demanded they make right..they paid our extended warranty never paid for our rental car and never bothered to tell us there was a defect on my vehicle! we were driving and noticed the transmission slipping and the truck vibrating very loud and vigorously when going into 3rd or 4th gear at around 50 mph. but they had told me it was my imagination. well 10 days from the day i drove it home i guess it wasn't just my imagination because we lost all acceleration power. the truck was running but wouldn't not move. here i am a year later googling why my truck keeps screwing up and boy what do i find???? i'm very livid and can't believe that nissan has decided to fatten their wallets instead of helping it's consumers and making things right. i had a new transmission and new radiator put in. and a year later i'm fighting the same problem all over again. if i'm idle or stay in one spot for a few minutes my truck is over heating and not only that but it's spewing coolant out the reservoir. i have had it in the shop numerous times and no one gives a crap! i was told it was an air pocket and i'm not stupid especially now that i'm reading all the other complaints. this makes me wonder how the government can allow this to continue going on..i can't believe that no help is available to us and we are being screwed royally and our lives in danger because we are forced to drive a dangerous non reliable vehicle!!!!!!! make things right nissan fix our vehicles or do a recall and give us our money for putting us through [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I am a very loyal nissan/pathfinder owner. i'm on my second pathfinder and always have my beloved 2007 serviced regularly at the puyallup nissan dealership. because i rely on my vehicle for work, i make sure to keep it current with all recommended services over the life of the vehicle. until recently, ive been an extremely satisfied pathfinder owner. now, i am quite upset that a known defective radiator notice i received approximately a year ago, advised to do nothing if experiencing no problems, but now that i'm over the limit of 100k miles (115k), and experiencing the known radiator defect issue, i am now on the hook for the entire repair cost ($5000). i've researched the issue which can be summarized at http://www.nissanproblems.com/problems/transmission.shtml what does the miles matter? does nissan's obligation to their product and customer disappear after 100k miles? why didn't nissan recommend replacing the radiators, as a preventative measure? further research of testimonials from other nissan owners experiencing the same issue, suggests that the radiator problem seemed to typically occur after 100,000 miles anyways. so how is it that nissan is ok with leaving their customer holding on to the (crud) end of the stick? i sure hope i am reimbursed for the hefty bill some way some day. (i've not yet pulled the trigger on having the repairs done, as i have been contemplating trading in and giving the problem back to the dealer, but how will this affect the trade in value, and if nissan's past reputation is diminishing, why do i want to trade in for another nissan. my passion for pathfinders has suddenly dropped considerably...time for a new brand maybe.....:-((((( very disgruntled pathfinder owner, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Checked the transmission fluid and it was white milky. had it checked its a problem with the transmission cooler inside the radiator cracking and letting antifreeze get into transmission and it destroys it and it's up to $5000 to fix and lots of lost time and nissan isn't doing a thing about it. and there are numerous people on the internet with same problem. nissan should fix this at no cost to the owner !!!!!!!! *tr
Car having trouble getting up to speed. now will not start. dealership says it needs new radiator and transmission. *tr
Transmission failure driving under normal conditions on interstate. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle shifted erratically. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that radiator fluid was entering the transmission. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage and vin was not available.
When the car reaches speed of 45 mph, it begins to jerk and vibrate and a loud noise starts. if i press the overdrive button to turn it off, the car smoothes out. if i do not turn the overdrive off, once i lower speed or accelerate, it stops vibrating. diagnosis from mechanic is coolant has leaked into my transmission fluid. car should have new radiator and transmission put in. *tr
For the past week when ever i drove my car the entire vehicle shudders, shakes and has a harsh upshift when it is changing gears. it happens the most on highways going at high speeds (55-65 miles). i took my car into a nissan dealership on 1-29-14 to get it checked out. the dealership diagnosed my car with a "broken trans cooler line in radiator which made the coolant leak and mixed with transmission fluid. advise replace entire transmission, radiator, and flush engine block as well as replace thermostat, (price to fix: $5938.00 + 9% tax)". i researched this issue online and found this to be a common defect issue that nissan has been dancing around since 2007, as well as a class action lawsuit being filed against nissan. i bought the car on july 28, 2011, so i have only owned the car for a little over 2 years in which the dealership i purchased the car from did not inform us of this warranty being offered by nissan from the lawsuit or informed us of the possible transmission problem. i had the car completely checked out by a mechanic in november of 2013 and it passed with no issues. now here we are 2 months later, and over 100,000 miles and my nissan experiences this issue. this can be a very detrimental and dramatic failure, causing massive safety issues if i continue to drive my car, especially on highways going high speeds. i contacted nissan this morning to see if they are going to stand behind their product and since i am only 11,000 miles over their "warranty" (which has high deductibles), they denied to help and i am left holding a $6500.00 price tag to fix my car. *tr
We started to have a very loud and creeping noise when we put the car in reverse. sounds like we were pulling something very heavy and the car could not resist it. then, we also started to notice issues such as a delay in gear changes and more noises now when driving forward or in reverse. we took the car to the dealership today and they diagnosed it with a "broken trans cooler line in radiator which made the coolant leak and mixed with transmission fluid. they want us to replace the entire transmission, radiator, and flush engine block bringing the price close to 7k. i started to research this and i'm definitely adding my complaint and will surely call nissan to see what options they will give us. 2/20/15 *tr
The trucks transmission slipped while i was merging onto the highway. the truck didn't want to move. it was very scary. i had the whole family with me. *tr
Was hearing noise from the engine, dealer diagnosed as timing chain guides bad, said this was a "known" problem with this model. 3 weeks after fixing was going to work and the transmission went out, was advised by dealer that coolant had leaked into the fluid from a faulty radiator design on this model...estimated 6000+ for repairs. these are known issues with this model nissan and the company has offered zero help with correcting this. *tr
The entire transmission melted without warning. the car could not move on reverse and only going 20mph. *tr
I was driving on the expressway and my car suddenly would not accelerate. i made my way to a street location and pulled my car on the side of the road. i shut the car off. it would not start. i had it towed to a mechanic and he said that it is the transmission. *tr
Major vibration during shifting gears (transmission). concerned that coolant has leaked from radiator into transmission as has been reported on thousands of other pathfinders. nissan should be forced to recall and replace radiators/transmissions. *jb
Calsonic radiator issue - transmission fluid and coolant mixed causing issues with transmission. bad transmission cooler area per aamco. nissan is unwilling to help as my vehicle has 126k miles on it. these issues appear to be happening in a much greater % than nissan is acknowledging. they moved the warranty from 3 yrs/36000 miles to 8 years/80000 miles but it still doesn't help those whose radiator leaked after the 100k level prematurely. this is a safety issue and also a manufacturing defect issue. it seems that nissan corporate, dealers, transmission shops and other governmental organizations knew about this issue - sadly, most consumers don't. i would have gladly replaced my radiator for $500 but now i will be out $4000 because nissan didn't tell their owners about this problem. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the timing chain system and valve body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 102,000.

My vehicle began to drive sluggish as if it was going to cut off. when i got to my destination and tried to crank my truck to leave it would not say a word. i had my vehicle towed to the nissan dealer in morrow for a diagnostics testing. i received a call the next day stating that the radiator and transmission had failed and it needed to be replaced in order to get the truck up and running. i explained to the dealer that i had m vehicle serviced less than a month ago and there was never an indication that my transmission was failing. they quoted me 6,100 to repair my truck. i had my vehicle towed and sent to aamco transmissions, where they diagnosed my truck as needing a enginecontrol module. my issue with nissan is that there has been several complaints similiar to mine and they offered no help to resolve my problems. i would really like to speak to some one directly about my issues as there are too many to list here.
About 2 weeks ago i was driving my 2007 nissan pathfinder (automatic), when i try to accelerate a bit the vehicle show signs that the speed-gear will not shift properly. when i am at a red light also for example once the light change to green the car take a few seconds to accelerate to the proper speed making it an inconvenience for other cars behind me since the speed will not pick up on time. sometimes also it tend to " shot" making a weird not before resuming proper speed and this happen mostly on local roads. *tr
Note: affected parts are transmission and radiator (not sure what category those fall in) i purchased a 2007 nissan pathfinder from a nissan dealership less than 3 months ago. immediately after purchasing i noticed what seemed to be a minor lack of power or cutting out when coasting downhill. i mentioned it to my sales rep, and again when i had to take the vehicle back to the shop on two separate occasions for a tire pressure gauge and rear door handle problem. i had never owned a 4wd before and it was dismissed as no big deal since it still drove okay. then last week, over labor day weekend, my car overheated and immediately discharged a grey milky substance from the radiator without warning. it had not overheated prior to this. i had my car towed to the dealership. they informed me that both the transmission and the radiator need replacing to the tune of $6,600. the cause being the radiator fluid leaking into the transmission. this repair is over half the value of the car. i never would have purchased the vehicle had i known about the defect. at a minimum i would have insisted it be covered by warranty. i paid full retail price for the car not knowing of this defect. while i'm grateful no one was injured by this defect this time, i have no means to pay the repair costs and owe $13,000 to the bank for a vehicle i cannot drive or resell. *jb

This complaint is about the past recall on the 2007 nissan pathfinder, the transmission fluid mixing with the radiator. due to a hole, crack in the engine. had this to happen to me. cost very high. this happen with car in motion on city streets.
We noticed the nissan starting to jerk on the frwy and service engine light came on. took it immediately to the mechanic they gave me bad news appearantly the transmission had radiator fluid in it. he said he had seen this problem before many times his exact word were the way nissan designed this particular vehicle causes this. my mechanic had to replace radiator flush the whole system put new fluids in total cost $976.oo he advised me to take it to a transmission shop because he said it needed to be looked at by a specialist since he could not guarantee it would not happen again or if even the transmssion would work. well it worked but the service engine light came on on the way to the transmission shop once they got done with it and replaced everythin that needed to be fixed on the inside of the transmission i paid $3227.49. according to everything i read this can hapen to the pathfinder without any prior problems. we took pretty good care of ours was a great vehicle till we had to dish out almost 5k after we had just paid it off. i will never buy nissan again! *tr
My wife was driving home from picking up our children from school. she was traveling approx 65 mph when the vehicle lost power, became unstable, and would not accelerate. she said that it was like someone put on the emergency brake with five times more. force than normal almost causing her to loose control of the vehicle. upon taking the vehicle to a repair shop the problem was found to be that coolant had leaked into the transmission and had destroyed the transmission computer and the transmission. *tr
I bought a 2007 pathfinder from a very reputable used car business, carmax almost 3 years ago. they are very well known in the area for thoroughly checking their vehicles before reselling. it had approx 59k miles on it and i've loved it until recently. i started experiencing heating problems awhile ago but my mechanic couldn't find anything wrong - he even checked the radiator. a few months ago, the transmission would shudder occasionally when i reached about 40 mph. at first it was very minor, i actually thought it was maybe grooves in the road, etc but the issue got worse. i brought it to the dealer and was told i need a new radiator and transmission - this is a widespread problem. i was also told flushing the transmission probably wouldn't help. the radiator is going to cost me $913 and because this is such a widespread problem, a new transmission was the only thing they could find at $7400! i still owe on this vehicle and am wondering how will i ever trade this in or even afford to fix it. nissan won't help in any way, even by discounting the labor and parts and the class action settlement won't help either because my pathfinder has 109k miles on it - 9k over the extended warranty nissan issued. what a disaster. i'm a single mom with a young daughter and a mother i care for. i recently took my family to visit my sister in west virginia, you know - mountains. imagine if something would've happened then. i had no idea all of this was going on and am now terrified to drive it. i've never received notification from nissan that there was a potential issue - i would've brought it to the dealer immediately and been covered for repairs!!! this is a nightmare and nissan should be held responsible in some way. why aren't they standing behind their product at all!! do a couple of hundred people have to get hurt before something is done? *tr
At 35,500 miles the secondary timing chain tensioner shoes failed. the dealer told me that this is a very common problem with the 4.0l motor. this repair is $1000 and not covered by any remaining warranty. i believe that since thousands of people have had to pay thousands of dollars to repair this defective part it should be a recall. this would be dangerous if this failed while the vehicle was moving at highway speeds, luckily i was driving slow enough to avoid an accident. *tr
After a 90k mile check-up and full service in spring 2012, i understood that my pathfinder was running well. never was there a mention of issues with the radiator / transmission, nor was the connection between these elements replaced to prevent an issue (to my knowledge.) at 101k miles, the heat went out in the rear section of the car (i did not realize this until two months had gone by and i was arguing with my freezing child in the back seat that i had his heat as hot as it would go - he was clearly correct and the rear blowers were blasting him with icy air.) there was a "clunk" upon shifting the car into reverse, and between 40 and 60 mph the transmission lagged and sounded like it was grinding and working hard. at 106k i brought the pathfinder to the nissan dealer where i had originally purchased the car. this was the same dealer who had done the 90k service, as well. they determined that the radiator fluid had mixed with the transmission fluid and that my car needed both a new radiator and transmission for $9,000.00. (my truck is maybe worth $15,000 at this point - really?) after deliberating with the service supervisor, he offered an alternate option of only changing the radiator and flushing the transmission several times to eliminate the contaminated fluid. i gave the ok for this service option at $600. since the service, my transmission is still lagging between 40 and 60 mph and the "clunk" still happens during a slow reverse. i am now investigating my options for a new transmission as the vehicle is still in beautiful shape, other than its engine issues. it is my belief that this issue is wide-spread enough that the transmissions and radiator should be recalled and replaced by nissan - or paid for by nissan since it's their faulty parts that cause the problem. *tr
When slowing down or speeding up between about 30-50 mph, the vehicle transmission felt like it was slipping. after much research and several hundred dollars of work come to find out that the radiator is faulty causing cross-contamination between engine coolant and transmission fluid. i am aware there is an ongoing investigation into this matter as well as a class action law suit pending. i have spent significant money to troubleshoot and replace what was needed (radiator and multiple transmission flushes) and feel i should be reimbursed as well as have a more thorough inspection and additional repair/replacement if needed. i am concerned that the engine is now damaged due to transmission fluid being in there and possibly the transmission. both of which may be future problems that materialize down the road. something should be done to make this right for the many nissan customers. *tr
The radiator fluid is leaking into the transmission fluid and causing significant "rumbling" noises. the vehicle does not shift correctly. *tr
Milky substance appeared in radiator and car smoked and smelled. took to mechanic and reported failed cooler causing radiator fluid and oil to mix. resulted in cracked heads as engine overheated. now transmission has failed. likely due to engine overheating. *tr
First issue started while trying to accelerate onto the interstate. the car/engine started shaking between 40 and 50 mph and would not accelerate. i was nearly rear-ended when i had to merge into traffic. other issues were similar, car shaking at 40 to 50mph, like driving over a washed out road. unable to accelerate initially, this would last for several seconds, before finally responding, shaking would go away when speed would exceed 50mph. final safety issue occurred when accelerating after a stop light onto a highway ramp. at 40mph the transmission completely went out, the car would not shift into gear and would not accelerate. i had just started to merge, i had to swerve back onto the ramp lane and stop in the middle of the road. i was nearly hit by the highway traffic and almost rear-ended by a car going back into the ramp lane. cars were forced to slam there brakes to avoid hitting my dead car, it also made it very difficult for other cars to merge onto the highway, several cars narrowly avoided an accident. car was taken to shop, transmission and radiator had to be replaced. radiator defect had caused the transmission to fail. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle began stalled while the contact was attempting to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technician advised that the valve body and radiator needed to be replaced due to a leak in the radiator and the coolant was intermixing with the transmission fluid. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 101,000 and the current mileage was 104,000.
I was driving at 30 mph and the nissan pathfinder 2007 start making a noise in the motor like when you have the car in 1 but it was on drive, then the service engine soon alarm appear. i parked the car but when turning on again it didn't. the dealer said that the radiator coolant damage transmission and the computer because was damaged. the estimated cost of the repair was $9,400. *tr
The fuel gauge stopped working over a year and a half ago. when we contacted the dealer they never told us about the extended warranty. they quoted a price that we, a military family could not afford, and that was it. then last year, a shuddering began. we took it to the dealer and spent almost $800. they flushed the transmission, but the shuddering only got worse. when i took the car in they informed me that the radiator fluid leaked into the transmission and now both need to be replaced. i called nissan and they basically said that its my problem!! i have been in tears since. my husband is in afghanistan fighting for his country. he worked hard and paid the car off 2 months ago and now this. he is so worried about us being stranded when his focus should be on what's happening there. we don't have $8000 to spend on a car that we just paid off and that should be in top form. *tr
Radiator leaked into transmission, causing both to go out. repeatedly took my car to the dealer to diagnose problem but they had no knowledge of the radiator-transmission issue. once my car finally died i was forced to repair on my own with no help from nissan. i was too far over miles to be included in their "customer satisfaction program" which only covered cost over $3,000 and under 100,000 miles. i spent $4,360.00 out of pocket to replace transmission and bypass radiator. *tr
Radiator defect leaked coolant into the transmission caused transmission to fail; will need a new radiator and transmission because of this known defect in the radiator. also, engine timing chain defects in 2005-2010 pathfinders. repairs are set to be $12,000 - which is more than the value of the vehicle. *tr
I started having a sudden jerking in my 2007 nissan pathfinder when driving down the highway. when i took it into a nissan dealer they diagnosed the problem as a failure with the radiator internally and externally which allowed leaking coolant into my transmission fluid causing both radiator and transmission failure. the dealer now states that i need to replace both items or trade it in. .... come on nissan you have a major problem. we need a recall....... *tr
I was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden i heard a thud and lost power, had to go over 2 lanes without being hit.... i took it to the shop and the mechanic new excactly what the problems was. radiotor fluid getting into the transmission causing it to fail... hundreds of nissan pathfinder owners are having this problem. tell nissan to recall this now before someone gets killed.. shouldnt have to pay $8000 for nissans crappy work.. *tr
My pathfinder was should have been slowing from the speed of as i was braking and letting off the gas, but it kept moving forward and shaking. if there was a car in front of me i would have hit them hard. my transmission would not shift down to slow down, due to radiator leaking into transmission. the cost of my repair of both radiator and transmission is over $5000. *tr
While driving down the highway my husband and i experienced loss of power and had to pull onto the side of the road. we were towed from there to the mechanic who explained to us that the internal radiator had leaked fluid into the transmission causing failure to both. since our warranty was outdated we are now out 6000$ and are struggling to fix this. i am very frustrated and disappointed in the vehicle. we had our children with and i am very glad that we were not at a busy intersection or interstate. *tr
While driving with the ac on, my vehicle started to blast out hot air through the vents and overheat. my car has never ran hot before, i haven't had any problems since i've had it. i was able to pull over safely and let the car cool down. my husband removed the radiator cap and noticed a milky liquid in the radiator. we had to have the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop and they notified us of the recall on the nissan (2005-2010 models) radiators. they said that it was a common problem that they have been seeing where the coolant mixes with the transmission fluids and cause a major repair problem. we have been told that the radiator, transmission, transmission kit, throttle, vial body, and torque converter will have to be replaced. i feel petrified to know that nissan knew about this existing problem but refused to have these issues repaired rather than taking the easy way out and extending the warranty. we bought our truck brand new from the nissan dealership and we also paid for the 5yr/100,000 mile warranty. i have had my truck for 5 yrs and 2 mths, something should have been done about this. we the consumers have trusted this brand for many years and we depend on our vehicles on a daily bases. my family and i were all in the vehicle when the incident happened we could have been seriously harmed in a high risk situation. we had the 90,000 mileage maintenance completed where they flushed the radiator, changed the transmission, & etc. and everything was fine. my husband have always taken my car in for timely maintenance and no one has ever mentioned the radiator issues. *tr
The faulty seal that separates the anti-freeze and transmission fluid mixed and resulted in the transmission failing. this catastrophic failure that the manufacturer is admitting to but only giving partial remedy as it may not happen before 80,000 miles. i find myself along with many other customers who are footing the bill for the 8600 dollar repair in tough economic times. when buying a new vehicle it should last long enough to finish paying the car note without any major expenses. this issue needs to be addressed immediately as a recall so the consumer can be reimbursed for terrible engineering that any mechanic will tell you. even the nissan dealers know is a problem but will not take ownership. is there any assistance as a consumer? *js
