Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

I purchased a used 2007 nissan pathfinder with extended warranty for my daughter on 12/28/13. last week the check engine light came on. she made an appointment, arrived early and 5 hours later was told that a sensor needed to be replaced and suggested that she take it to a nissan dealer as they had equipment specific to nissan vehicles and her warranty covers the work at any dealership. she asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and was told yes. she drove two miles to a nissan dealer spent another 2 hours there while they ran their own diagnostic tests. they determined that there was cross contamination in the radiator. not only did her radiator need to be replaced but so did her transmission. she was further told that her vehicle was unsafe to drive. the called the warranty company who indicated that the radiator wasn't covered and therefore the transmission wasn't covered as it was caused by the radiator. my daughter drove back to auto nation again and asked to speak to the general manager. she was told he wasn't in and the used car sales manager would speak to her. i left work and went over to help her. i also asked for the general manager, was asked what it was about, i said i would prefer speaking directly to the gm and was told the same thing as my daughter. the used car sales manager reluctantly agreed to replace the radiator and flush the transmission twice he indicated that would solve the problem. she picked up the suv today and 2 blocks later the check engine light came on. she went back to auto nation and was told by the used car manager that there was no way he was paying $3500 to replace the transmission. he told her to just drive with the check engine light on. this is so wrong! to send a 22 year old off in an unsafe vehicle. this was apparently a known issue on this make/model & year. nissan even extended the warranties because of the issue. *tr

Car having trouble getting up to speed. now will not start. dealership says it needs new radiator and transmission. *tr

While driven in normal conditions on a highway at approximately 60 m/h it start to loose speed, the transmission won`t shift back to third speed from fourth, when it need it, no overheating where indicated by the heat indicator just the lock of power, car need to be towed to my house. *tr

Vehicle started out shifting hard and changing gears hard. when vehicle was put in reverse and/or driver, it started sputtering as if it was about to shut off. the vehicle was also very sluggish when hitting the accelerator. the vehicle was brought to the mechanic to diagnose the problem and i was advised that the transmission oil had mixed with the coolant in the radiator, causing coolant to be in my transmission fluid and transmission fluid in my radiator. i was advised that this was a common problem with my vehicle type that nissan was aware of, but only offered an extended warranty to 100,000 miles. if nissan is aware of the defect in their parts, they should be made to pay for the repairs that this defect has caused and not put the burden on the backs of their customers. i will never purchase another nissan vehicle and will tell everyone that i know not to purchase a nissan. *tr

Transmission failure driving under normal conditions on interstate. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle shifted erratically. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that radiator fluid was entering the transmission. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage and vin was not available.

While driving the truck normally, in the morning, i came to a stop at a stoplight. once the light turned green i pressed the pedal to accelerate and the truck was slow to respond (as if it was in a higher gear to start) once it was up to about 20mph it drove decent enough. i came to another stop and it happened again, same as before, and the check engine light came on. i was stopping at a school to drop kids off and turned into a spot and turned off the truck. it would not turn back on when attempted. i checked the diagnostic codes and came up with u1000, u1001, p0717. i had to tow it away from the parking lot a couple days later. once i was able to check the truck out, i found a substantial amount of transmission fluid (frothed) in the coolant. i read that this is due to the internal radiator transmission cooler failing and mixing the coolant with the transmission fluid. i also found that the reason for the truck not starting was that the 10a fuse for the a/t ecu blew. i have replaced the radiator, flushed the cooling system, and am about to take a sample of the transmission fluid to see if there is coolant in the transmission before i talk to a repair facility about repairing the transmission. *tr

When the car reaches speed of 45 mph, it begins to jerk and vibrate and a loud noise starts. if i press the overdrive button to turn it off, the car smoothes out. if i do not turn the overdrive off, once i lower speed or accelerate, it stops vibrating. diagnosis from mechanic is coolant has leaked into my transmission fluid. car should have new radiator and transmission put in. *tr

Had cross contamination of coolant and transmission fluid. nissan garage discovered this after i took to the shop for something completely unrelated. for some reason the garage never checked for this or mentioned the class action suit when my vehicle was under 100,000 miles. i had to pay $5,000 and could not recover anything from the class action, as my vehicle has 112,000 miles. i still owe on it! there should have been a recall, but nissan decided to extend the warranty and save a ton of money, knowing that this issue would frequently occur after 100,000 miles. we as consumers, are driving around like fools, thinking that our vehicles are reliable and safe. *js

Radiator transmission cooler failure allowed cross contamination between transmission fluid and antifreeze.the resulting lack of lubrication and electrical conductivity of antifreeze caused electrical and mechanical transmission failure. *tr

This vehicle was bought from dealer early 2010 with around 40,000 miles. there was no knowledge of a manufacturing design defect inside of the radiator. a leakage due to an internal tube inside the radiator causes transmission fluid to be cross-contaminated and become mixed then over time destroys both the transmission and radiator. nissan manufacturer won't help with repairing this problem. on top of that, the mileage makes me ineligible for extended warranty. it is 10 years/100,000 miles which ever comes first. help me please!!!! i don't have $10,000 to pay for this repair when its not my fault. this is a manufacturer defect and they don't have an official recall on this problem but an out of reach warranty. failure happens after 100,000 miles mostly. *tr

Vehicle began to shake as if riding over bumps at approx 60-65 mph and then when approaching a stop a jerky shift would occur at approx 5-10 mph. service engine soon illuminated car would not accelerate more than 10 mph so my wife pulled into a parking lot and shut the car off. the car would not start again and had to be towed. i had the code pulled from the ecu and it reported error "p0717 input turbine speed sensor circuit no signal". after searching online i found a lot of information on defective radiator in 2005-2010 nissan pathfinder, xtera and frontier which allows coolant and transmission fluid to mix and causes transmission failure which was also confirmed by contaminated coolant in the radiator. this is a safety concern as there were no signs of this failure like so many people have reported until its sudden failure and there should be a recall in place. http://www.carcomplaints.com/nissan/pathfinder/2007/transmission/coolant_leaked_into_transmission.shtml. *tr

My 2007 nissan path finder was recently was diagnosed with a complete failure to the transmission due to a failure of the "radiator assembly" that failed and allowed water to get inside the transmission containment and this caused catastrophic failure to the transmission. requiring now that the whole transmission needs to be replaced. the only warning i got was the failure warning light from my car, and at that point its already damaged. looking for an explanation i turned to nissan and i learned that this is recognized by nissan defect and thought my vehicle hasn't been completely abandon by nissan corp. i still have to contribute $2.5k towards repairs for a known failing design, that fixing it could have prevent the much more costly result of leaving it as is. what happened to nissan standing by their product and making good on poor design? even what's more is that i was mailed a letter regarding a class action reimbursement in legal lingo that i didn't fully understand and felt it didn't apply to me since id have no expenses. yet it now makes sense as to what its purpose was.. it was to monetary reimburse those with nissan's at my similar age and mileage for repair they performed due to admitting it was a faulty design. i cant help but wonder what harm would it have been to publish an advisory letter and allow the consumer the right to make repair prior to a complete failure. additional nissan consumer affairs dept. need a personality training as they are unable to say anything unless it is pre-scripted for them. i'm beginning to rethink my forth vehicle purchase to not be a nissan. *tr

Vehicle struggling to shift. diagnosis: transmission fluid leaking into the radiator. replaced radiator drained and replaced all fluids, still struggling to shift. *tr

Bought 2007 nissan pathfinder fall 2010. dec 2010 in for oil change at dealership. sent home paper w/ boxes checked showing transmission & coolant "may need future attention" nothing else brought to our attention. 40,912 miles on truck. dec 2013- 99,279 miles- took truck to dealership- wasn't heating at idle. found to be low on coolant, contaminated transmission fluid, and oil sludge in the engine (oil light did not come on) they flushed fluids, refilled them & told us to change oil every 1,000 miles for a few months to ensure clean. jan 13 2014 another oil change, another checked box stating transmission fluids "may need future attention" even though flushed 18 days ago. feb 10 2014 another oil change, another checked box stating coolant "may need future attention". this seemed to be routine and nothing more since fluids routinely need changing. feb 27, 2014 -103,000 miles- engine light on, drove immediately to dealership. diagnosis: coolant had leaked into the transmission from the radiator ruining both. $5,000+ to fix.found there are over 110,000 nissan pathfinders with exact problem, nissan is/has been aware of this, but since there is no recall they don't have to inform owners. there is a class action lawsuit. because of this, warranty was extended to 100,000 mi. but, this is happening right around or after 100,000, it is too late. nissan will only pay for anything over $3,000, but are installing rebuilt transmissions that cost just that, so we are still paying total cost. visits show that at 40,912 & 99,279 miles they knew this was the problem did not inform us since they would have been liable. a mechanic of 30 years explained that low coolant and cold on idle means there is a leak which will also cause oil sludge. visits 1& 2 mos later also showed signs of leakage. signs were all there and ignored! dangerous if happens while driving. *tr

At 99000 miles truck failed to take off then all of sudden took off then going down the highway the truck wouldn't accelerate. during a road trip which caused a 3 day delay and 3000 dollars in repair. now fast forward to 111,975 miles and was going up hill at light and truck started rolling backwards and sputtering, took it to nissan dealership stated that coolant in transmission repair cost 7246 and still owe 9200 on truck. *tr

My car failed to accelerate leaving me vulnerable to accident. this is a well known problem and it is already on this site with 2 supporting documents. however, the investigation has been opened since 2012 feb and no results. the director of operations [xxx] sent to the nc consumers council on 18 feb 12 with no published results. i am thinking that maybe some money under the table went to [xxx] from nissan. okay the last part was a joke but really 2 years open investigation. please help. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The radiator is leaking into the transmission. *tr

Transmission was shuttering after inspection there was water in transmission from leaking radiator that nissan knew about but didn't warn consumers. *tr

Driving car in rush hour traffic and car completing stopped. it took about 10 minutes to start. once the car started it cranked for about 10 seconds before it actually started. at dealership, the car was diagnosed with needing two new cam sensors. after paying $621.00 for this, mechanic test drove car and found it to be "bucking" and diagnosed that the radiator fluid had leaked into the transmission and we needed a whole new transmission. nissan is requiring $2,500 deductible even after they realize they made a faulty radiator/transmission. *tr

Transmission fluid is milky colored. loss of coolant. transmission slipping. somehow coolant in transmission fluid. *tr

I always take my car in for service at glendale nissan and so last year in july of 2013 i asked were there any recall on my car i was told no. so in feb of this year2014 i started experiencing some problems with me heat inside the car. they checked it and told me my transmission fluid was mixing with my coolant and i needed to replace both and its gonna cost me $5600. i asked was there a recall on this and i was told yes and my car wasn't covered because of the mileage. i instantly got upset because i always take my car in for service to this dealership. i was told i could try to replacing the radiator and drain the transmission but that was no guarantee how long the car would work. i did just that ..now my car is staying idle while driving and it wont idle down for a period of time. i tried calling the 1800nissan1 number and explain my problem and they told me they can't help me and nothing they could do. this is so wrong! i've spent so much money at this dealership its ridiculous. ive replaced my computer, belts, hoses, spark plugs, oil changes, drain my transmission fluid.so much i cant even remember everything. if they know that this is happening to these cars and put out a recall for this how can they get away with this! im a single parent of 5 children there's no way i can afford this!! and this is my only car i have for transportation!! this is just plain wrong! they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this! *tr

For the past week when ever i drove my car the entire vehicle shudders, shakes and has a harsh upshift when it is changing gears. it happens the most on highways going at high speeds (55-65 miles). i took my car into a nissan dealership on 1-29-14 to get it checked out. the dealership diagnosed my car with a "broken trans cooler line in radiator which made the coolant leak and mixed with transmission fluid. advise replace entire transmission, radiator, and flush engine block as well as replace thermostat, (price to fix: $5938.00 + 9% tax)". i researched this issue online and found this to be a common defect issue that nissan has been dancing around since 2007, as well as a class action lawsuit being filed against nissan. i bought the car on july 28, 2011, so i have only owned the car for a little over 2 years in which the dealership i purchased the car from did not inform us of this warranty being offered by nissan from the lawsuit or informed us of the possible transmission problem. i had the car completely checked out by a mechanic in november of 2013 and it passed with no issues. now here we are 2 months later, and over 100,000 miles and my nissan experiences this issue. this can be a very detrimental and dramatic failure, causing massive safety issues if i continue to drive my car, especially on highways going high speeds. i contacted nissan this morning to see if they are going to stand behind their product and since i am only 11,000 miles over their "warranty" (which has high deductibles), they denied to help and i am left holding a $6500.00 price tag to fix my car. *tr

We started to have a very loud and creeping noise when we put the car in reverse. sounds like we were pulling something very heavy and the car could not resist it. then, we also started to notice issues such as a delay in gear changes and more noises now when driving forward or in reverse. we took the car to the dealership today and they diagnosed it with a "broken trans cooler line in radiator which made the coolant leak and mixed with transmission fluid. they want us to replace the entire transmission, radiator, and flush engine block bringing the price close to 7k. i started to research this and i'm definitely adding my complaint and will surely call nissan to see what options they will give us. 2/20/15 *tr

My vehicle just completely shut down without any warning signs or previous issues. i have taken very good care of this vehicle and the radiator has a manufacturer defect that allowed transmission fluid to leak into the radiator causing catastrophic damage to my radiator and transmission that nissan will not take any responsibility for and will cost me upwards of $5,200.00 at least. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that after shifting into drive, the vehicle accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. the vehicle did not stop despite the contact applying both the brake pedal and emergency brake, and the vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle. the contact was not injured and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was awaiting a diagnosis of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the incident. the approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

The trucks transmission slipped while i was merging onto the highway. the truck didn't want to move. it was very scary. i had the whole family with me. *tr

Was hearing noise from the engine, dealer diagnosed as timing chain guides bad, said this was a "known" problem with this model. 3 weeks after fixing was going to work and the transmission went out, was advised by dealer that coolant had leaked into the fluid from a faulty radiator design on this model...estimated 6000+ for repairs. these are known issues with this model nissan and the company has offered zero help with correcting this. *tr

Nissan refuses to fully cover the repair/replacement of a faulty radiator and transmission. nissan is currently under investigation for this neglect and is stalling on recalling the vehicles. nissan extended a warranty leaving the burden of $3,000 deductible for the consumer. this is an appalling and sad excuse of customer service - the vehicles did not meet quality control and it is disgusting to have the customer put out that much money for a problem that existed before the vehicle left the dealership. *tr

The truck began shifting gears very roughly and slowly with a strong jerking motion to the truck. when taken for diagnosis was told that the transmission fluid and coolant were mixing due to a faulty radiator and thus got into transmission causing the need for replacement of radiator, flushing of fluid lines and transmission replacement approx. cost $6000. after researching this problem, i see multitudes of other nissan customers have had the same problem. this issue is extremely unsafe on roads. my car falls outside the extended warranty given due to this problem. in addition, if my pathfinder did fall under the warranty, nissan only assists with payment to replace radiator not the damage done transmission because of the faulty radiator. this absolutely needs to be investigated further! *tr

The fluids of the radiator and transmission mixed. 3 mechanics and a nissan dealer said its a known issue between 2005~2007. and no recalls we're being issued. i had a diagnostic test done at antwerpen nissan done when my pathfinder was running. i have had a 95 sentry, i have a 09 versa, i have talked my mother in law into a nissan altima, as well as my step mom. my husband has talked a couple of his co workers into a nissan also. i want to know why there has been no recalls on a "well kept secret" as that is what i was told. *tr

I request that the dot nhtsa investigate manufacturer defects in 2007 nissan pathfinders cooling system and transmission as unexpected failure relates to driver safety. my 2007 pathfinder with 90,000 miles caused a major collision with a deer as the transmission began to fail. driving home, at around 40mph, up a hill (engine under load @ 2,200-2,500 rpm) the whole car began suddenly to "shudder"- similar to the feeling/ sound of riding over highway rumble strips. this resulted in a loss of control over the speed of the vehicle and a noticeable distraction leaving me unprepared as a large buck ran out from the tree line attempting to cross the road- the buck did not make it across. as i have found in my research afterwards, there is a widely known manufacturer defect in which engine coolant mixes with transmission fluid. the resulting "goop" shreds the internal parts of the transmission rendering it (along with the radiator and components) completely useless. these vehicles are unsafe for the roadways as this problem occurs suddenly and unexpectedly without warning. i consider myself lucky for being alive- now, but since nissan nor any other organization is willing to recall or replace this vehicle/ affected parts, i am stuck, forced to drive on the road being a hazard to others and myself. *tr

Radiator cooler leaking water into transmission, and transmission oil into cooling system. transmission stuck in 3 gear, engine overheating due to sludge inside radiator, a total disaster for a low income individual trying to make ends meet . *tr

Vehicle has not been warming up for about 2 weeks, never thought it was anything serious, thought it would be a heating coil or something, took it to the dealer on 1/3/14 to get an oil change and for them to look at the problem and the technician came back and said "oh you need a transmission and radiator bring the car back on tuesday" like it was something common. just looked into the complaints did not know this was a common issue with the vehicles, needless to say this will be my last nissan. i purchased a extended warranty which they did ask me, however i did not know about the class action suit that would have covered the issue until today 1/8/14. *tr

Transmission went out going down the road. stuck in overdrive. *tr

My car started to rattle and lose power at 45 mph. i drove it home and tried to reverse it in with no luck. i immediately knew i had a transmission issue. i parked the car for two days and took it to the dealer who later informed me that my radiator coolant fluid had mixed with my transmission fluid and destroyed my entire car. they quoted me between 7000-9000 to fix the car. i contacted nissan who informed me that there is nothing they can do because they extended the warranty twice to up to 100,000 miles. i find this ironic since after extensive research the issue usually occurs after 100,000 miles. nissan has know about this problem for 7 years and has chosen to ignore the issue and not issue a recall. now the consumers have to foot the bill.

I was driving on the freeway and as the freeway was coming to its end where you have an option to go on another freeway or into the city area, my car completely died and all of the lights on the dashboard lit up. i was trying to roll and steer myself into a safe area so that cars would not come crashing into me from behind as it was at night @ 7:30 pm. after waiting a minute, i started it back up and the vdc and check engine light came on. it was drivable but somewhat jerky and stalled once again on my way back home. i tried to get the car home safely so i can have aaa tow it to the nearest shop near my home if needed. i was able to get home and then took it to a shop where both cam shaft sensors were replaced for $500. car drove better but then started shaking at 40 mph or 60 mph unless i put it in overdrive or let off the gas and tried again. driving in overdrive helped. my mechanic was unable to diagnose the issue so i then found another shop that was full-service where they did a full diagnostic. i received the call about 5 hours after drop-off where he explained to me that this is a common issue with my vehicle and year and that there is a defect in the radiator which allows coolant to mix with transmission fluid and ultimately destroy the transmission. he also recommended as a fix that i get a whole new transmission, radiator and hoses and that the transmission that would go in it would be a newer model nissan pathfinder transmission where they have changed/corrected the design and wouldn't incur this issue again. he stated it's a matter of time before the vehicle completely stops running and that i was one of the lucky ones that it still does run. as i have just paid this car off a few months earlier, the new costs incurred to fix the problem correctly, would run me anywhere from $5,600-$7,500. my vehicle's value is $8,000 according to edmunds.com. *tr

The entire transmission melted without warning. the car could not move on reverse and only going 20mph. *tr

When driving aprx 40-45 mph, transmission sounds as if i was hitting rumble strips. i lose power. i have been told it could be due to a coolant leak into the transmission. after reviewing this site, i noticed many other problems and an investigation started almost a year ago....please get this defect recalled!!! *tr

Car purchased in sept of 2013, was speeding up from a stop at about 10 mph and the transmission started to slip. it has done it more than once, about 2 weeks ago i was crossing the railroad tracks and it shuttered and jerk, finally getting over them which was extremely scary with my 9 and 2 year old in the car with me. this past week the car has over heated 3 times. the last time leaving me stranded in -5 degrees temperature with my 9 year old daughter. i have since had to borrow a car seeing this nissan is putting my family in danger every time we drive it. since it was just purchased with 79,000 i still owe on the vehicle which is extremely upsetting. i have done research since and have see several people with the same problems. i will be taking the vehicle to the dealer this week to clarify this is the same issue as all the others. what upsets me even more is the car was sold to me from a nissan dealer with 79,000 miles and was never mentioned to me of the extended 80,000 miles warranty, since then i have exceeded the 80,000 and am required to pay for this problem that should clearly be a recall. if there was still a warranty at 79,000 why wasn't this issue fixed by the dealer!!! please do all you can to help all these poor families out there!! thank you *tr

I was on expressway, driving approximately 60-65 miles per hour and without warning car lost all its ability to accelerate or maintain speed. car engine would rev when you pressed on the accelerator but the car would not respond. vehicles behind me had to hit on there brakes and go around me as i attempted to steer vehicle to the side of the expressway. once vehicle came to a stop, my transmission would not engage in any gear leaving me stranded. i had to have vehicle towed to my home. i was informed by nissan that engine coolant had leaked into my transmission and ruined my transmission. i have since found out this is a common problem on nissan pathfinders and the cost to repair vehicle is between 4 and 5 thousand dollars. *tr

The vehicle vibrated and shuttered and ceased to move. i was in traffic and luckily had a place to pull over. i had the vehicle towed to the local nissan dealership. after a discussion and diagnosis by the technician and shop foreman it was determined that the transmission and the radiator had crossed contamination of fluids resulting in the transmission becoming inoperable and requiring the transmission and radiator be replaced. the shop foreman stated that nissan knew about this defect in the radiator and the resulting problems. i am waiting to find out if nissan will help with repair cost. i was told by the shop foreman that the cost to replace the transmission and radiator would be approximately $8,000.00. . *tr

The vehicle was traveling on i-95 during rush hour traffic, the vehicle was traveling at stop and go speeds due to traffic congestion and when the operator wanted to accelerate, the vehicle did not respond. it took various tries before it was able to move and placed on the curb. after that the vehicle started to respond again but at limited speeds and was able to barely made it back home at very slow speeds. it was then taken to an auto repair shop and it was determined that the transmission was failing. it has been further determined that there is a contamination of transmission and radiator fluids / coolants and a total transmission failure may be possible. the vehicle has not been in operation since this was discovered and we are evaluating options for repair, up to and including total replacement of the power-train and radiator. after investigating this possible failure i was able to find that this appears to be a fairly common manufacturer defect but i can not find any recall notices. this was a very disturbing incident and thankfully no one was hurt, but the transmission failure occurring in the middle of i-95 could have resulted in crash due to the sudden deceleration of the vehicle. i'm looking for guidance on how this can be taken to the manufacturer so they can take care of this obvious factory defect. i look forward to hearing back from you. *tr

The truck begin to shift hard and ride as if on grooves in the road. at time you would have to remove your feet from the gas several times to stop the vibration. the truck would jerk while driving or excel very fast without warning. after months of this the check engine soon light came on 11/19/13. i took the truck into the nissan dealer to find out what the problem was. they came back with a estimated investment: transmission, radiator, matic s coolant. no codes or issues that were wrong and at the bottom a grand total of $5047.33. i was told the radiator coolant leaked into the transmission causing it to go bad. he said the coolant damages all the inner parts through corrosion. i thought while all the reports i have read about online about the 2006-2010 models nissan is happening to me. so what do i do pay a fortune to fix a defect that nissan has known about since 2007 and haven't recalled to fix them in a car i just bought a year ago, that is no where being paid off. we need some help with this there are complaints from nc to canada. this is not occurring in vehicles under warranty or extended warranty but in cars that are over the mileage. they told me the transmission pressure was to much. it is a suv with power they should be made to pay for this. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that after attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated to move. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the radiator fluid had leaked in the transmission. no repairs were made and the vehicle became inoperable after some time. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 135,000. updated 12/01/14*lj *js

Radiator failed (product defect, no accident or external causes) and leaked into the transmission, effectively destroying it. had to get both radiator and transmission replaced. symptoms started with shuddering during shifting, which led to rough shifting, gear slippage, check-engine light, and eventually the car not even starting. *tr

This is all after the vehicle was serviced (by nissan dealer) for the known radiator leaking coolant into the transmission fluid. repair back in may 2013 with approx. mileage 68000. now vehicle has about 75000. driving home from dinner with wife in moderate traffic. herd a clunk and car would not accelerate. barely made it home. i let vehicle cool down and removed the radiator cap and found thick cream like fluid which is a definite sign of oil based fluid contaminated with water / glycol. seems to me that nissan did not replace or fix the leaking radiator. driving a vehicle that behaves in this manner can not be safe to drive. back to the shop (dealer) tomorrow. *tr

While driving the vehicle had a sudden loss of power and the service engine light came on. a local nissan dealer has informed me that due an apparent known issue for this vehicle a total failure of the transmission has occurred. the needed repairs estimate is $7,800 for a new transmission, radiator and electronic components. *tr

I was driving on the expressway and my car suddenly would not accelerate. i made my way to a street location and pulled my car on the side of the road. i shut the car off. it would not start. i had it towed to a mechanic and he said that it is the transmission. *tr

Major vibration during shifting gears (transmission). concerned that coolant has leaked from radiator into transmission as has been reported on thousands of other pathfinders. nissan should be forced to recall and replace radiators/transmissions. *jb
