Upon entering the driver side door and sitting in driver seat, the driver seat support rod, underneath the upholstery, became disengaged from the left side support post, causing the seat to "cave-in" on the left side. *tr
The bracket holding the driver's seat in the rear left section of the seat has broken. the car has 41,000 miles and is a 2006 nissan murano. i did some research and this seems to be a very common problem. the result is a seat that now leans and is only connected to the mounting points at 3 locations instead of 4. *tr
Recently purchased a 2006 nissan murano. i thought my seat was not adjusted properly, but i now realize the seat is broken. the seat leans to the left so much, that it makes it very uncomfortable to drive. this is ridiculous on a car with 40,000 miles and just three years old. *tr
Drivers seat frame snapped. seems to be happening a lot with other murano owners. *tr
Driver's seat is broken - the entire frame on the left side broke and the seat falls to the left, making it impossible to be comfortable and safe. currently have 2x4 boards holding up the seat, and an unable to adjust the seat creating a pain in my lower back, as well as a safety flaw in the vehicle. *tr
Driver seat wobble, left and right. having this problem for past 3 months. dealer says it will cost $900 to fix. i can feel something is broken under the seat. my wife needs to adjust it to go forward, we are always afraid if seat will come loose when moving forward. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. while driving between 55-60 mph, the brackets failed underneath the driver's seat. a nissan repair shop welded the brackets back in place in march of 2009. the failure only occurred once. the contact has a repair order from the shop for $300. the failure mileage was 53,000 and current mileage was 56,000.
I had a failure of the drivers seat in my 2006 nissan murano. after checking with the parts department at my local nissan dealer (olathe nissan) i found the part broken was part number 87450+a. replacement of that portion of my seat will result in a cost of approximately $650.00 parts, plus labor for installation. i'm still within the 3 year warranty period, but over the 35k mile and was told this would not be covered under warranty. there is a tsb on this problem and seems as i have become a member of a large group that can expect the potential for having this repair every 2 to 3 years. it seems that nissan has a design problem that needs to be addressed, but not at my expense life or money. this should be viewed as an extreme safety issue, as it broke when i was driving making it very difficult to drive! *tr
Driver seat frame or attachment to track is broken. has been broken for a long amount of time. first noticed after a few months of purchasing vehicle in 2008. dealer wants @ 1000.00 to repair. was not covered under extended warranty. car failed safety inspection due to seat this year. cannot afford repair at this time. *tr
Driver's power seat frame on 2006 nissan murano broke. no longer anchored properly to safely secure driver. *tr
2006 nissan murano. front driver's 8-way power seat. my wife told me that one side of the seat, the right (transmission selector) side, was jammed and would not move forward and back causing the seat to "pivot" in position. i could not see an foreign object stuck under the seat that would cause this so i took it to the local chrysler dealer. they told me that the gears that mesh together to direct the movement of the seat were stripped and that the entire 8-way rack mechanism had to be replaced, to the tune of over $900.00!!. the service tech said that this was a common problem on the murano and is usually caused when the driver leans back hard against the back of the seat and lifts up his or her fanny, as when entering the vehicle and adjusting pant legs or a dress before starting to drive (something everyone does all the time). after reluctantly paying to have this work done i took the old seat rack home and took it apart. sure enough, two gears on the right-hand side of the rack were stripped of several worm-teeth, however, the gears themselves are less than 1/2" in diameter and made of cheap nylon! you would think that these would be made of metal. also, the gears themselves could be removed quite easily from the assembly. i don't understand at all why the entire seat assembly had to be replaced except as a profit maker for the dealer. after seeing all of the exact same complaints on this particular vehicle on various car complaint web-sites it is obvious that nissan should be required to recall these vehicles and replace these defective gears.*tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. while driving approximately 55 mph on normal road conditions, the front driver's side seat unexpectedly collapsed backwards. the driver maneuvered the steering wheel to avoid traffic and pulled over to the side of the road. the vehicle was cautiously driven to her residence and then taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. the technician recommended that the seat frame be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired because the failure was excluded from the extended warranty. currently, the vehicle is inoperative. the failure and current mileages were 43,633.
The driver seat if my 2006 nissan murano rocks back and forth and side to side. i found this out by making a left turn at a light and my seat just popped and i leaned into the door. now it wiggles back and forth even when not driving it. *tr
Back left seat anchor on the drivers seat broke while driving down the road. the seat rocks back and forth and is unstable. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. his seat frame broke and began rocking. the dealers cost to repair the seat was $1,200.57. the dealer confirmed that it was dangerous driving with a broken seat frame. there is no existing recall. the failure mileage was 41,000. updated 12/16/08 *cn updated 12/19/08. *jb
I was driving along and i heard a snap when i got home i looked under the seat and indeed the seat frame bracket snapped in two places. the back left bracket of my drivers seat snapped in a y pattern. i have not replaced it yet because nissan wants $900 to replace it. i feel that it is a manufacture defect not normal wear and tear. it is a definite safety issue, when your left rear anchor is not holding your seat in place. *tr
I was driving my 2006 nissan murano (purchased new january 2006) with about 45k miles on it when---while driving, the drivers seat rocked to the left/left rear, clearly broken. side-to-side lurching movement of the seat happens constantly. i took it to the nissan dealership where i bought the car in cedar rapids iowa. they told me the drivers seat track was broken and gave an estimate of $1,035.09 to repair. this included $675.30 drivers seat track part. the part number listed on the estimate was 87450-ca06a this was not covered under warranty due to mileage (47k at time of their diagnosis). this has to be a major safety concern, particularly if any accident occurred, at which time a secured seat would be imperative. i can't imagine that this basic equipment has a lifespan of less than three years, yet when i researched this incident online, i found many, many complaints of the same "broken seat" in 2006 and 2005 murano model years. *tr
Driver seat broken. took to dealer and they said they would talk to nissan about repairing it. car has 42k miles on it. they have not returned my calls. this is a huge safety issue and they should repair it immediately. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. while making a turn at an unknown speed, the driver's seat rocked over towards the driver's side door. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the frame failed. the current mileage was 42,800 and failure mileage was 42,760.
After owning my 2006 nissan murano for just over two years the lower seat brace has broken and the seat leans and lifts in a left hand turn. i have researched this problem online and have found many complaints for the exact same problem. this i feel is a safety issue that the company is unwilling to fix at no cost. i hope the numbers of complaints will trigger some response. thank you for your consideration. *tr
On oct. 19th my wife was driving are 2006 nissan murano, i was in the passenger seat and are son was in the back. we had just pulled away from the house and we heard a load pop. my wife said i think the seat just broke. we continued on to home depot and there i examined the seat and yes the seat was broken as the back left section of the seat is unattached from the frame and can be raised and lowered at will. we called the local dealership monday oct. 20th and they reaffirmed that the seat assembly was broken and the part would be 615.00 and the labor another 200 plus dollars. i made a call to consumer affairs and after almost two weeks of discussions with them they were willing to only allow for a 200.00 good will reimbursement. i explained that this is not a mechanical part but a structural part and that it should not have broken especially on a 2 year old vehicle with 53000 miles. i explaining that the car was unsafe to drive in its condition and that nissan should stand behind it. there are many instances of individuals having this same issue if you search the web for it as well as a service bulletin post by nissan about this issue. this is a structural part not a mechanical part and with it broken it makes the car unsafe for me, my wife and our son. we will have the vehicle repaired on oct. 31 as are family is dependent on the vehicle for transportation. *tr
1 normal driving conditions 2 broken seat bracket (assembly) underneath seat 3 the whole seat assembly was replaced. *tr
Drivers seat frame broken at rear left corner resulting the seat rocking when cornering and eventually collapsing at the left rear corner. dealer refused to accept responsibility although after several complaints offered to reduce the part price to dealer cost ($750.00) with no reduction in labor costs. this is a clear safety issue, the car is less than 3 years old and must be recalled. *tr
2006 nissan murano defective drivers seat. for no apparent reason seat started to rock form side to side when making turns. i thought it was a loose bolt but could not find one. when i turned the car in at the end of my lease period, nissan wanted to charge me for a broken driver seat molding. i have noticed that there are many other similar complaints. in addition, service managers at nissan have seen this problem frequently. this happens from metal fatigue and during normal wear and tear, not be abusive driving habits. there should be a factory recall on this issue. *tr
I started noticing that the seat was leaning to the left more and more. i looked under the seat and a seat bracket under the driver seat in my car has broken. although this seams to be a serious safety issue the dealer refuses to fix it unless i pay over $1000. i did a search online, and found that this is a fairly common problem in this vehicle. *tr
The driver side seat bracket gave way when i was driving my nissan murano. no warning sings or hints of instability was displayed before the break. "bracket" meaning the device that holds the seat to the frame, mounted to the car floor. researching this problem i found it this is a common occurrence with the nissan murano the dealer is denying this fact. your attention on this matter is appreciated. *tr
Drivers seat frame broke less than 2 years old, 40,000 miles. causing a rocking or leaning of the drivers seat. *tr
Drivers seat was making a squeaking noise and finally broke, sending the seat down to the floor, jolting the driver. it was repaired by the dealer, but was not covered under extended warranty. *tr
Broken drivers seat. seat is very loose and feels like it will detach at any moment. leans severely to the left. *tr
2006 nissan murano driver side seat back cross brace broke, car only has 46,800 miles
I purchased a used 2006 nissan murano in march of this year. yesterday i was getting into my car to go home from work and was placing my laptop computer bag in the backseat and rested my hand on the driver's seat. the seat was noticeably unstable and unsecured. i investigated under the seat to determine whether or not it had become detached from the track, it had not, the power seat still moves back and forth. i drove it home with my seat unlevel and my husband took a look and discovered the thin metal support rod had broke at the connection point. this has never happened to me on a car ever. i am very disappointed that a more expensive car would miss a step so critical to comfort. *tr
Drivers seat frame snapped in half. this car has never been in any accidents so there is no reason for the actual frame to have broken. it is very loose and wobbly and therefore very unsafe to drive. it would not hold up in the case of an accident. this is not something that should break with no reason as it is the structure of the vehicle. this is very unsafe and could cause an accident or cause excessive injury as a result of an accident. *tr
Driver seat rear bracket broken on 2006 nissan murano se similar to pe08065. *tr
My 2006 nissan murano felt as though the drivers seat was leaning to the left. then it became obviously loose/wobbly, so much so that it feels as though the seat will fall over going around a turn. i had it checked and was told there was a mechanism that had broke under the seat, that the whole thing would have to be replaced and could cost as much as $1,200! it doesn't seem safe, yet i don't have that kind of money, and now seeing that this is a common occurrence w/ murano's-certainly nissan would have to take responsibility and do a recall before someone gets injured because of this. i find driving it myself is getting more difficult because of how wobbly the seat is-but i can't afford to fix it. when the seat leans, the steering wheel gets pulled too. this is a serious safety issue. *tr
2006 nissan murano driver's power seat frame broken. seat tilts to the left and not securely fastened to floor. safety concern as frame snapped and broke while i was driving. safety concern if i were to be in an accident . there is a technical service bulletin but i can't figure out the part needed to fix seat. called local dealer and they are unaware of any issues. i have researched thousands of complaints for the models in 2003---2007. i think there needs to be a recall due to safety issues. * js
2006 nissan murano driver side seat while i was driving my seat snapped and now leans to the left and moves back and fourth everytime i turn. *tr
Driver seat won't operate on right rail. bad plastic gear. also broken bracket on rear left side. all on driver seat. *tr
Our 2006 nissan murano that has about 40,000 miles on it. it has a broken drivers seat. apparently the welds of the seat have broken. we had purchased the extended warranty but have been informed that while the original manufacturers warranty would have covered this safety defect, the extended warranty does not. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. while driving 1 mph, the contact heard a loud pop and the front driver side seat rocked forward. the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer. the current and failure mileages were 41,000.
Our vehicle is a 2006 nissan murano. on february 10, 2008 we noticed the drivers seat was broken (it was rocking back and forth). we brought the vehicle to decormier nissan in manchester, ct who replaced the seat. the seats welded steel frame was broken. we were told that this was not covered by the security plus extended warranty but that it would have been covered under the 3 year 36,000 mile original manufacturer warranty. it cost us $1,069.62. the vehicle had 40,040 miles on it when we brought it in for this repair. *tr
While driving the front driver seat broke and began leaning to the side. *tr
I have a 2006 nissan murano. approx. 6 months ago the driver's seat would start squeaking whenever i made any turns or drove over bumps. it sounds like plastic grinding. on 12/12/08, i sat in the seat and the frame broke. the driver's seat now rocks from side to side whenever you turn. this is a safety issue as your feet will come off the gas or break whenever you turn. i went on the web, and there are several public forums from murano owners complaining about the same issue. nissan is aware of the problem, but will not take any any action. the local nissan dealer will only replace the whole seat for $1,200.00 and not try to fix the root of the problem. if they want you to buy a whole new seat, what is to prevent this from occurring again? unacceptable. nissan needs to recall this seat, because it is a safety issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. the contact stated the driver side seat would rock back and forth abnormally. the dealer stated that the seat had fractured from the frame and would need to be replaced. the seat was not under warranty or recall. the contact stated that the visor on the driver side was also fractured. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 54,127 and the current mileage was 70,000.
