Problems with 2005 Nissan Armada SERVICE BRAKES

On average, the 2005 Nissan Armada starts to “feel” problems with the SERVICE BRAKES and its various aspects after 98 845 miles.

Recently reported SERVICE BRAKES problems on 2005 Nissan Armada

Cannot stop vehicle on a hard stop; vehicle catches but will not stop quickly. ran red light because unable to make hard stop. *tr

While pulling my car trailer with a loaded car on the trailer the brakes on the armada stopped working. the anti-lock brakes started pulsating really fast to the point the pedal went to the floor. i had to serve around the can in front of me and i ran the red light. this is the 4th time this suv has done this. *tr

Wont write a whole story as there are many here to go around about the same problem. so in short , my abs brakes are activating when brakes are applied as i come to stop sign ,causing groaning ,banging noises and feel spongy. nissan you have gotten many complaints on this, so assign someone to start the needed recall and don't wait until a few people are killed to do something about it. recall this item please..its happening to 2 of my nissan vehicles right now.. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes failed to operate normally and the brake warning light illuminated. the contact also mentioned that this problem has occurred on four separate occasions. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic which stated that the power brake booster delta sensor had to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 85,000. the current mileage was 122,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. while driving at an unknown speed, the emergency brake engaged independently. the dealer stated that the brake booster needed to be replaced in order to repair the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 142,014.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving 35 mph, he applied the brakes and the vehicle did not respond. the brake light was illuminated and an abnormal grinding noise was emitted as the failure occurred. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 96,000.

While driving, the abs brake light comes on and when i try to brake, the brakes make a grinding/groaning noise and the vehicle does not brake properly. this has happened on several occasions. it is always sporadic. when the vehicle is shut off, something resets and it won't do it again. so the nissan dealership says they can't fix it because they can't find anything wrong. it is a safety issue because it can happen anytime and it affects the brakes working. if there is a crash in the future, it will be the fault of nissan because i am documenting everything, including this safety complaint. *jb

While driving at 55mph my brake light came on, as i tried to brake my brakes failed and the foot petal hit the floor making a loud shuttering sound. suddenly my brakes kicked back in but continued to make loud sounds. when i was able to pull over i turned off the engine and when i turned the engine back on the light reset as if nothing happened. this has happened on several occasions. i am terrified. i have taken my armada to nissan dealership and they believe its associated with an error message c1179 "delta stroke sensor" but have done nothing to help me. please help! *tr

The brake, slip and vdc off light come on at once. lose brake pedal pressure. pedal goes almost to floor with noise like the abs is on. slowly can get truck to stop. turn off and turn on vehicle, issue goes away for anywhere from a day to a few week then happens again. it has happened on mostly dry smooth pavement.

Driving on the interstate i started to hear a metal on metal squealing noise. my parking brake light came on and i pulled off to the side thinking i had forgotten to depress the brake. however, it didn't work. after driving again i couldn't use the brakes so i called the tow and went to the nissan dealership i was using before. i was told i needed a brake booster replacement. this was almost $1000! i asked if it would fix the issue. i was told yes and that i needed to fix it before it caused a fatality. of course this scared me and i told them to fix whatever was needed. twenty-two hundred dollars later and a few months and i'm looking at the same issue happening again. when i notified nissan they have been too "busy" and said to schedule an appointment. um, excuse me i can't drive my car! the nonchalant attitude, coupled with the subpar resolution, has me furious. i don't know what to say or think. i feel helpless. this is my only vehicle, it's completely paid off and i don't have room to get another one. i'm with the other posts here that nissan should value our patronage and look into a fix for this. if that happens to be a replacement vehicle then so be it. but, something needs to be done soon before someone gets hurt due to their negligence. *tr

I was in a school zone picking up my daycare kids. as soon as i took off the parking brake and put the car in drive it showed the brake light on. confused i checked everything and proceeded to drive home. as i reached the stop sign with a crossing guard escorting kids across i really had to push down on the brake and a loud crunching like metal to metal and shaking occurred. it scared the day lights out of me! i turned the corner pulled over to the side took a deep breath. i took the streets home and drove very slow praying that when i would come to a stop sign that my brakes would work. i get to my other stop to pick up my child from her bus stop. coming to the stop still have all the grinding noise and praying it will stop. i turned off my car and waited for the bus. i wait for all the kids to cross and completely clear the area. i stared my car and what i couldn't believe everything was fine. i came home called my husband he called the dealer and i began to research. to my disbelief there are hundreds of complaints on this issue code:c1179 delta sensor and nothing is being done about it. most people like myself purchase a large vehicle because we have multiple people to drive around, like my kids i watch ranging from 1-12yrs. this floors me! i was at a cross walk when this happened with kids crossing what if i couldn't stop i would of hit the kids!!!! what if i crashed i had three other kids that i watched in the car with me. it is disgusting to me that nothing is being done there is no recall on this!! to my fear something will fatally happen for you guys to do something. please fix this problem before something really bad happens!!!. oh and not to mention you have no warning when this occurs and when u turn off your car its like nothing ever happened. come to find out it resets the code. i'm scared to drive my car because reading others it happens again! recall!!! *tr

My son was driving home one night (20 mph) and slowed to make a turn and the brake light came on, there was a clunking noise, and the brakes did not work. he left me a note telling me not to drive the car in the morning - "something seriously wrong with the brakes". when my husband went to check it in the morning there was nothing wrong with brakes. we thought he was crazy.two weeks later i was pulling into parking lot (2mph), the brake light came on, clunking noise, brakes did not work.after doing some research online and reading these complaints and seeing that once you restart the car the problem goes away, i went out to start the car and everything worked fine. now 2 weeks later, backing out of the driveway last night, brake light came on, clunking noise and brakes did not work. i have contacted the dealer who sold me the car and he was unaware of any problems. i called a district manager at carmax and he, too, was unaware of the problem. happening 3 times in 5 weeks is unacceptable. i can not let my children drive the car. i am scared to drive on the highway. can't believe nissan won't recognize the problem. i may get an attorney. class action? *tr

My wife was driving 65 mph on the interstate and traffic came to a halt. when she went to apply her brakes the pedal went to the floor and the armada would not stop. she swerved into the grass and it finally rolled to a stop. pumping the brakes did not work and there was a brake light that came on and it was making a terrible grinding sound. she shut the vehicle off, waited for a few minutes to collect her thoughts and when she turned it back on everything was o.k. no light, no brake problems. from what i read on-line this is an ongoing issue and needs to be addressed and or a recall for this before someone is killed. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated while shifting from reverse to drive, there was a clunking noise. the contact mentioned that the vehicle hesitated and attempted to stall. in addition, the contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated. the vehicle was powered off and was able to restart. the failure would recur intermittently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the problem. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 99,000. updated 09/16/14*lj the vehicle was repaired. updated 1/16/15 *js

This happened twice with the similar incident in june 2013. while driving, brake lights up on the dash board. emergency brake not engaged. we exited the freeway right away. loud grinding noise when brakes is applied. the brake pedal is all the way to the floor. it took awhile to completely stop.thank god. we turned off the engine and restart and the brake light on the dash board is gone and brake is fine again. we brought the car to the nissan dealership yesterday and they did not find anything wrong with the brake system. this is an urgent issue that needs to addressed by nissan. life is really at stake here. *tr

On 3 occasions, my brakes have failed while i have been driving. the red brake light came on. the brakes were grinding and it was extremely difficult to stop the car. luckily, i was traveling at low rates of speed each time this happened. the car was towed each time and the mechanic cannot determine what the problem is since it appears that the brakes reset when the car is turned off. i have read on line that many other people have experienced similar problems yet when i called nissan, they stated that they have only recalled older vehicles for brake issues. *tr

We were driving the vehicle on the highway and all the sudden the brake light came on, as the light came on the brakes gave an anti-lock type response. as this was happening, we were trying to pull to the side of the road and slow down, because if this ongoing reaction though, our brakes were not working to slow the vehicle. we probably had about 25% braking power. this also happened to my wife on the road as she was traveling at 35 miles and hour. exact same issue only two days earlier. from what i've read online it is a defective delta stroke sensor and brake booster. and seems to be very common in the armada, titan, and infiniti qx vehicles. this is an extreme safety hazard. should this happen at a stop light and we can't stop we would roll right into the intersection, creating a hazard to us and our children. the only way to fix the issue is to turn of the car and it reboots to saying the brake is off. *tr

Unable to stop the truck quickly; not able to hard stop. brakes mushy. *tr

Brake booster malfunctions during normal driving causing unsafe breaking. brakes almost lock up when pedal is depressed. you have to pull off the road, turn truck off and back on to work, and sometimes you have to do 2 or 3 times. dealer wants $1k to fix booster and from what i have read, it does not always work fuel gauge malfunctioned, ran out of gas 2 times when gauge still shows 1/4 tank. this is a recall on newer vehicles but mine is a 2005. airbag light is on and dealer states needs replacing

My brake light came on and when i went to put on my brakes on there was this grinding sound and my brake pedal shuttered and there was a sound like a spring being popped. my husband said that it sounded like there was something wrong with the abs system and i have read online where other people are having the same problems with there vehicle but nissan wont issue a recall on this problem. when you turn the car off the problem go away until the next time that it happens. *tr

The brakes locked up, experienced vibration on the steering wheel, and brakes began stuttering. this is about the fourth time that this incident occurs. this occurs as you apply the brake slowly at slow speeds, usually around 20-30 mph. brake warning light in the instrument panel flashes. the only way to reset is by turning off the car and turning it back on. *tr

tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph and attempting to slow down to make a turn, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. the contact managed to control the vehicle. a metal-to-metal grinding noise was heard from the brakes and the brake warning light illuminated. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the rotors and the wheels. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the dealer at: edden prairie nissan, bloomington, mn, where the technician diagnosed and replaced the brake booster. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure was not remedied. the failure mileage was approxitmately 50,000.

The incident has happened twice already once while driving and going about 35 miles per hour. the 2nd while sitting in a drive thru. while slowing down for the light, it felt as the brakes gave out. the brake pedal did not have any pressure in them and gave this loud crunching sound. also sounded like a spring moaning. immediately the brake light came on as if i had my emergency brakes on. i was in a panic and swerved to the side of the road not to rear end the car in front of me. this continued until after i completely turned off the car, let it sit then turned it back on. the light went off and the brakes worked as normal. the 2nd time i was in a drive thru moving forward and the brakes seem to give out. crunching sound, brake light and only went away when i turned the armada completely off and then on again. after researching the problem online it appears that many other people are experiencing the same problem. this armada, my wife drives to work every day back and forth. we can't afford another car and i fear for her safety and the cars around her. here is a link of just some of the people having the same issue. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/armada/1852-brake-problems-2.html. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving 30 mph, she applied the brakes as the pedal abnormally traveled to the floorboard. the vehicle only decelerated after an extended time frame. the failure recurred eleven subsequent times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis but no cause for failure was found. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 90,000.

Problem with car accelerating spontaneously when brake booster sensor fails at random times. initial problem with brake peddle going soft and the anti-lock braking system gets activated when braking trying to do standard braking. the brake light turns on, the peddle goes to the floor, brakes are not normal and very touchy and the car shudders viciously to a stop while. loud noise is scary while brakes not firing in the usual peddle position and feel like mush. now in january a new situation started occurring when the brake booster would fail is that the armada would also accelerate the engine on pressing the brake. i went to stop my armada's and the engine surged its rpms while the anti-lock relays were firing. i stood on the brake peddle with my every muscle in my body to try to get the nissan armada to stop. i could not shift the car into neutral because the shifting lock seemed to engaged. i ended up turning off the engine and was able to stop. i called nissan america to report this issue. also stopped by the local nissan dealership and service manage informed me that the braking issue was caused by the delta sensor in the brake booster and was a know issue but that this was the first time he heard about the spontaneous acceleration when applying the brakes at low speed and that he only had heard about the spontaneous acceleration when applying the brakes at higher speeds. he said this was caused also by the delta sensor in the brake booster. i think i understood him in saying that when this sensor fails it allows the booster to inject air into the intake that causes the car to accelerate. i replaced my brake booster yesterday to find today that my armada has the same deadly issue! please have nissan fix this known safety issue! *tr

I was coming up to a stop light, going roughly 40 mph, and started applying the brakes, as the lights were changing, and i felt the brake pedal go "soft" and drop nearly to the floor. i had the brake, abs, and slip lights light up on my dash. i was able to bring the armada to a controlled stop before going into the intersection, but to do so i had to depress the brake pedal to the floor and it was as if there was a miniscule amount of pressure being applied to the brakes. once stopped i shifted into park, turned off the truck, waited a few moments, and turned the truck on again. the brake, abs, and slip lights remained illuminated and the brake pedal continued to feel extremely soft. i had to keep it full depressed against the floor in order to stay stopped. when the stop lights turned green, i pulled off the road- out of the way of traffic- and repeated the procedure above that i performed at the stop light. the brake, abs and slip lights continued to remain illuminated. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that the brake pedal went to the floor and the brakes made a grinding sound whenever the brakes were engaged. the contact mentioned that the grinding noise would ceised after turning the vehicle off and back on. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnose that the brake booster was failing and the delta booster sensor inside the brake booster needed to be replaced and reprogrammed. the contact stated that the vehicle had new brakes pads at the time of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 94,000 and the current mileage was 103,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the stability control and abs warning lights illuminated. the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed and the vehicle failed to stop until after several attempts. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000. the vin was not available.

While traveling down the road, the brakelight comes on. when pressing the brake pedal there is not the same amount of braking pressure and the abs starts sounding off, creating a lot of noise. the brake feel becomes overly grabby and inconsistent. this has happened at least a dozen times to me personally as well as my wife. when the vehicle is shut off and then turned back on it seems to reset and work as normal, until it does it again. please help! this had recently happened 4 times in the last 1 week. this has occurred 2 years ago. i went to the dealer. they reprogrammed something and has been good for a while, but now it is back. i took vehicle in to service on july 9th 2012 is part of a tsb to have the computer flashed or updated. did not solve problem, it happened again today. this is becoming a serious and life threatening issue with brake failure on this nissan armada. *tr

My brakes failed twice in my 2005 nissan armada w/55k miles. the first time, my brakes failed to stop me at an intersection, with a near miss collision. the brake light came on & there was a horrible grinding sound, the brake pedal pulsated & i had to take it all the way to the floor to attempt to stop my vehicle. i immediately pulled over and was towed to my mechanic. i was told there was nothing wrong with my brakes? the light no longer came on and the sound was gone. approx 3 months later it happened again. driving 35 mph i started to brake and the exact same thing happened again. this time i drove home and parked it, got back in the vehicle to check it and the brake light was off & the sound was gone, brakes still felt different however. the next morning, i did some research online, saw a bunch of people having the same exact problems. i called nissan directly & opened a case. made an appt at the dealership, they knew exactly what i was talking about. after inspection they told me it was my brake booster & it needed to be replaced and reprogrammed & it cost $975. i called nissan to let them know the cost & asked for assistance since it was a defective part. i was informed to not pick up my vehicle until i heard from them. i had rented a car from the dealership. nissan took 5 days to respond & called at 5:30pm to say sorry we decided not to help. so not only did i pay for the part, reprogramming & service, i also had to pay for the rental as well! they denied me for two reasons, my vehicle was out of warranty & i did not have it serviced at a dealership. poor customer service! because of that i will never buy another nissan ever again! and i love my car... they need to own the problem! people are at risk because of faulty programming and parts. they will probably wait for someone to die before they actually take any action! *js

When i was driving today, the brake light came on and it was very hard to stop. this has happened several times in the last several years. it's scary because you can't stop like normal. when this happens, i pull over, turn my car off and then on again and it clears it. this seems to be an ongoing problem from online complaints i have read and nissan is aware of this. this is a huge safety concern. please do something about this. this should be without a question, recalled. thank you ! *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the emergency brake warning light illuminated as the vehicle exhibited an abnormal grinding noise. the contact merged to the shoulder and powered off the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technician advised the contact that the power booster sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 106,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated while driving the brake lights illuminated without warning and the brake system failed to engage. the contact had to coast onto the emergency lane. the failure was experienced numerous times. the brake system returned to normal function after the vehicle was restarted. the vehicle also experienced a failure with lost of acceleration, the air bag warning light illuminated, the drivers side door and the rear hatch door failed to lock electronically. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 118,000 and the current mileage was 129,000.

I needed to stop and my brakes wouldn't work completely. they slowed me down a little but did not function completely. the pedal pumped up and down made a weird noise and the brake light came on. if i had been traveling at a faster speed and been following closer, i would have wrecked. *tt

Similar to other owner complaints, i was driving our 2005 nissan armada and attempted to apply the brakes. when i applied the brakes the vehicle did not stop and the brake pedal went to the floor. i have been going through this for a year now trying to find the source of this. my brake pads, rotors, etc. are all in excellent condition. i recently had the vdc control unit reprogrammed in accordance with ntb06-040 technical service bulletin at the suggestion of my mechanic. this did not correct the condition, and the same situation happened the next day. this is a very serious issue. *tr

While driving on the highway and trying to press brake, felt no response from brake or very hard to press brake, so i pulled aside the car. *tr

My 05 armada has problems with the brake senor light coming on and the abs system start acting erratic, vibration under dash and pedal moving back and forth the brakes lock up and start making grinding sound and is hard to control. when the car is stopped and restarted all problems vanish. sometimes it does it when the car is parked like when i went to the store came out and try to drive it but it was locked. when im driving the car and it with just a touch to the pedal the brakes would just lock up. its unsafe because there is no warning when it happens. i called the dealer and told the person in charge what was happening she said it might be the brake booster. i think its a computer hard ware or software issue because once its re-started it goes back to normal. since my insurance has already expired and the lady said it will cost me about 1,000 dlls which i don't have right know it will be difficult for me to fix it right away. if it is the brake booster.i hope in the meantime im lucky enough to not be in a car accident because of this problem thank you. help. *tr

While traveling on the highway (50mph) red brake light came on dash and when applying pressure to the brakes, grinding noise immediately began and pedal pressure was not available. almost full pedal travel to the floor board. at the time, abs was kicking in and brakes were not working properly. had to swerve to miss cars that were stopped off of the exit ramp at a red light, pulling off to the side of the ramp. had to turn the car off and restart the car in order for the brakes to work properly again. after research, this is a confirmed and known problem by nissan of america with the brake booster/delta sensor in armada and titan trucks manufactured by nissan. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed with a delayed response accompanied by an abnormal grinding noise. in addition, the brake warning indicator illuminated. the failure was recurring. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the brake booster would need to be replaced and the abs would require reprogramming. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000. the abs control was reprogrammed. also, the seat belt light flashed. the technician found an open circuit in the rear door harness. updated 12/23/13

While driving in the neighborhood around 20 mph, i needed to brake and notice an unusual noise. this noise seems to be coming from the brake booster. in addition, it sounded like the brakes were grinding. i notice that the brake lamp from the instrument cluster was on. driving slowly, i repeated the braking and it would do the same. so i pulled over to the side of the road and turn off the truck. i turned the truck back on and the brake lamp is now gone. i was able to drive home with no problem. this has occurred to me at least 5 times. i have brought it to the dealership and they did not see any fault code. did a search on the web and many people have had the same issue. this should be a safety recall since it pertains to the brake system of the vehicle. *tr

The brake light came on and the pedal went to the floor also a grinding banging noise. i shut the truck off and started it up and it was fine. this has happened 4 times in the last year, the last 2 times within the last week. *tr

When traveling back from washington d.c. in heavy traffic i looked at the speedometer of my 2005 nissan armada and noticed my brake light was lit up on my dash area. when i tried to apply the brakes i had very minimal braking power approximately 20-30% at best. this became a very serious and scary situation when we realized we were heading into a traffic jam! i was able to ride on the shoulder and apply the brakes until we were able to stop but by no means did i have the braking capability that we should have. the braking system seems to fix itself when you turn the ignition off and restart the car however this doesn't fix the problem. unfortunately the vehicle doesn't provide a code when it is restarted. when i was finally able to drive my vehicle to a service station they provided me with a code to give to my nissan dealership. after doing a little research i was astonished to find how many nissan owners were having the same issue and how the dealership can not really fix the problem. this has happened multiple times since our 1st incident back in 2009 and it is extremely scary. i have read other peoples complaints on the internet of the same issue and nissans supposed fixes that end up not working and costing people hundreds of dollars. i simply want to be able to drive my vehicle without fear of my brakes going out and putting myself, children and others in a dangerous situation. nissan needs to come up with a solution and fix the problem asap because if had i not been able to pull off on to the shoulder or off into a gas station when this happens with no warning it could result in injury or possibly death. i am about ready to go to the news with this story because nissan is not fixing the problem nor is there a recall for the issue. this can cause great injury or worse death if not handled correctly and soon. *tr

Brake light comes on the dash board, push brakes and it makes this grinding noise and the brakes lose most of their power. after i put the car in park, turn off engine and turn it back on light goes off. the first time it happened was in 2010..it started happening again in 2013 a couple of times and now it does it all of the time in 2014. i have two children and a lot of the time have multiple kids in the car that do not belong to me. it is a very scary thought that the brakes will just stop working. i just got new brakes around 6 months ago and has been happening a lot more since than. i will take my car to the mechanic again and need be file every complaint with whoever i can to get this issue resolved. i have read many, many forums about people having this exact problem..why hasn't nissan recalled this issue??? someone is going to die!!! *tr

Like many others, when applying brakes, harsh grinding noise and inability to brake easily. the problem goes away when car re-started. has happened about 25 times in 3 years. seems to be computer issue but never happens when at service center. when my wife drove the car , the first time it happened shook her quite a bit as she was in high traffic area going about 40 mph. it is unsafe to turn the engine off and on while driving but this is only way to get brakes operating. *tr

In march 2009 my 2005 nissan armada, which i bought new in late 2004, started to have problems with the brakes. the red warning lamps light up and the car lost most of its braking power, like not having any servo support. there were also noise and a soft pulsing feeling. we found that if we turned of the engine and then started it again, everything worked fine. nissan could not find any faults with the car. the problem repeated itself 4-6 times a year. nissan could still not find any faults they could not repeat the fault when they had the car in for tests. in july 2012, on my annual service, i asked again about the brakes. i was then told that other customers have had the same problem and that they now has a solution for the problem. i am surprised that nissan has not recalled the failing brakes. nissan's answer is still that there was no problem. i have the work papers to show what was needed to fix the problem. *tr

While driving the brake lights came on and the brakes got jammed i had slow down and stop the car when i turned off the ignition and restarted the car the brakes were released and the brake light went off. i had reported this to nissan dealer and they said after checking they could not find any malfunctions. this has happened several times since then, not only with me but also with my fried who has 2007 model of nissan armada, he was also told the same thing, we have reported this to nissan dealer various times. *tr

Since 2006 the brake light comes on while driving i have to pull to side because i lost my brakes and i have taken to nissan dealer and they have adjusted the delta stroke sensor. i have been doing this for many years into my warranty expire. and know the want to replace the power booster. know they are said delta stroke sensor on the brake power booster is not getting proper voltage. they are many nissan armada with the same problem. i am ones of the lucky persona have got on an accident. i believe nissan are responsible for the problem. i believe nissan is responsible to recall all armada from 2005 to present. *tr

I have a 2005 armada and i experienced the abs/brake/vdc light coming on. took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. they reset the computer and added fluid to the master cylinder. this happened after having the vehicle for 13 months. symptoms: brake peddle fell to the floorboard, grinding was felt and heard, dash brake light came on. it felt like the brake pads fell off the calipers and the calipers and rotors were rubbing against each other to stop the truck, which didn't happen. i had roughly 20% braking power, compared to normal, when this occurred. i have had bake work done over and over again and the issue continue to come back and it's very random. my cousin whom has a 2005 nissan armada also call me today complaining about the same issue. did more research and found this web site http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0ffea4 were there were over 100 post of people complaining about the exact same issue with there armada. lucky i have not had an accident with this issue, but i feel as if my day is coming. my vehicle is paid off, and i don't feel as if this is a normal wear and tear issue of the vehicle, and i don't want to have to purchase another vehicle because nissan is refusing to repair an safety issue with one if it vehicles. please help, resolving this issue could prevent me or someone else from having an accident but more importantly it could help save someone's life. please please please look at the web site i provided. i feel as if the there may not be a lot of complaints about this issue because people don't know how to report issues. *tr

Brake light came on during normal driving conditions. when i pressed the brake to stop, the abs system kicked on and braking distance was greatly reduced. problem reset itself when vehicle was turned off and turned back on. it has been an intermittent problem now for 5 years. never have had it near a dealer when it has happened so i have not gotten it fixed. it may come on two or three times a day then it might not come back on for 6 months then it will happen everyday for a week and the stop for three months. something is clearly wrong with their braking system and i don't want to pay them to fix their mistakes. here we are after owning the car for 5 years and seeing many talk forums of other people have the same issue and nissan has not stepped up to resolve it. the brake system is a dangerous component to have fail going down the road. *tr

I was driving along and the brake light came on and when i pressed on the brake an awful spongy crunching noise. brakes don't work. this has happened several times. i brought it to the nissan thousand oaks dealer (where i bought it) and they told me they couldn't replicate the issue and no code showed up. each time i had to turn off the vehicle and turn it back on to reset the brake light. nissan told me to "bring it in" the next time it happens... unfortunately, it is not safe to drive once this happens. i have brought this up several times at the dealer with no fix. however, now i'm seeing a lot more people online posting the exact same issue and getting no resolution from nissan. this is the brakes we're talking about here... *tr
