Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that the brake light constantly illuminates on the instrument panel and he heard a loud noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. the stopping distance has increased because brake pressure is lost. the failure was noticed while driving 40 mph. he normally pulls over to the side of the road and turns off the vehicle to allow the abs light to reset. the dealer stated that the vehicle needed brakes and the abs was not at fault. the dealer did not replace the brakes or diagnose the failure. the failure mileage was 23,000 and current mileage was 35,000.

2005 nissan armada. my airbag sensor light has turned on and remained on for no apparent reason. the vehicle has not been in an accident and was recently serviced by the local nissan dealership about a week ago. prior to the issue of the air bag light the braking system appears to be intermittent in stopping the suv, which is also felt in the brake pedal while braking. i have addressed this to the dealership but they could not identify the cause. this all may or may not be related but this is very important to the safety of driving. to my knowledge similar problems are addressed in the 2007 and 2008 nissans vehicles but nothing yet for my 05 armada. how can you help? i would hate for these problems to be the cause of an accident one day. these complaints are very similar to others on your web site. *tr

I have a 2005 nissan armada that is experiencing intermittent brake light/brake failure. the symptoms happen after initially turning on the vehicle and driving for about 200 yards. when the brakes are applied, the brake light will come on simultaneously with front brake noise. the brake pedal will be very "mushy", but the vehicle will stop. after stopping and turning the vehicle off, the error resets. this problem has happened at least five times in the last two months. i've taken the vehicle to the dealer and they claim there isn't any error code stored so they can't diagnose the problem to fix it. i searched the internet to see if this was a known problem and have found many other incidents, including this website to report this safety concern. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. while driving approximately 15 mph, the contact applied pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal fell to the floor. the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the brakes. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated the brake booster needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and stated the contact would be responsible for the cost. the approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

I was driving my 2005 nissan armada se when coming up to a stop light and had to apply my brakes to stop and they failed. the brake pedal shuddered and could hear a metal squeal coming from the front brakes. scared me to death. had my infant son with me and was really shaken that i almost hit another car in front of me. since i wasn't in a area to where i could pull over right away, i began to pull away from the stop light very slowly. when no cars were around and i felt it safe to apply my brakes again, the same thing happened! the brake light on the instrument panel came on and i felt a grinding noise, and shudder feeling when apply pressure on the brake pedal. i finally pulled the vehicle over right away and called for a tow truck to tow to dealer. explained to dealer what had happened and they told me they had heard about this type of problem before and that nissan had released a service bulletin about it. my service advisor told me that it was a vdc (vehicle dynamic control) module failure. he went on to say that sometimes you can turn off the vehicle and turn back on and it will reset itself. very scary!!! i purchased an extended warranty when i purchased my armada and the dealer told me that this was not covered and it would cost me $115 to fix. i think nissan would be well advised to issue a recall about this situation. i would hate to be going down the highway at 75 mph and have to apply my brakes suddenly and have them not work properly or scary yet someone gets killed. *tr

While backing out of a parking space and applying brakes, the brakes suddenly began to grind and shutter very loudly and wouldn't function properly - it was as if they were locked up. the brake light came on and i was only able to come to a stop by down shifting and applying the emergency brake at the same time. all the while it was grinding terribly. i had trouble with the brakes when we first purchased the car - but this is the first time since 2005. i proceeded very slowly to my local repair shop (rpm automotive) where they did a computer check on the braking system. they had seen this same problem on several armadas already this year. the referred me to the dealership since they did not have the "code" number needed to correct the problem. my car is currently at the dealership service department. i think if i had been on the highway that i would have had an accident. the dealership feels that this is no big deal and the brakes will be fine once they fix the computer. i am very frightened about driving it again. *tr

I was coming to a stop light and all of a sudden, the brake light indicator light on the dash came on, the vehicles brake system was acting erratic every time i pressed on the pedal. seems like the abs took over and assumed that the vehicle was loosing traction. the light stayed on and so was the problem with the brake system as i pressed the brake pedal. i pulled over to the curb and turned off the car, walked around assuming something was under the car and there was nothing. started the car and the and the brake light on the dash went away and so did the problem. this has happened to me twice and is very unsafe when driving in traffic. there is a forum on nissanhelp where this issue has happened to many people and the problem is not resolved when the vehicle is taken to the dealership to get the problem fixed. please help with this issue as it is unsafe to drive the vehicle because the light comes on unexpectedly and goes away when the vehicle is restarted and untraceable. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. whenever the brake pedal was depressed, the front end of the vehicle began to shake. the contact examined the vehicle and noticed that the rotors had grooves imprinted on them from the brake pads. the vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealer several times, but the failure still persists. the current mileage was 12,575 and failure mileage was 2,500. updated 6/9/08 *cn the consumer stated the rotors and brakes continue to go bad. updated 06/09/08

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact engaged the brake pedal and an abnormal grinding and pulsation was exhibited by the vehicle. the vehicle failed to properly decelerate. the contact drove to the side of the road and the engine was turned off. upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normally. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and they were unable to locate the problem. the manufacturer was notified of the constant failure. the approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

I rounded a corner at about 35 mph (pulling a trailer) and my antilock brakes system went haywire. the brakes were pulsing madly, and the truck slowed slightly. i pushed on the brake pedal and nothing happened. i could not stop the truck!! luckily, nobody was on the street and i was able to put it in neutral and turn the engine off while still moving about 25 mph and restart the engine at which time the system reset itself. upon going to the nissan dealer, i was informed that the vcd system (brake actuator) needed a software upgrade and that there was a service bulletin issued for this problem from nissan. i'm appalled that this dangerous problem where the driver cannot control the brakes or stop the vehicle is a known problem, yet there is no recall, or attempt to notify owners... someone is going to get hurt as a result of this. not to mention that nissan made me pay $170.00 to reprogram this faulty critical component... owners need to be made aware of this problem. i called customer service and they didn't want to hear it. *tr

We have had several incidents with the nissan armada since owning the vehicle new. basically, the brakes fail on the car and it becomes very difficult to stop the vehicle. it becomes unsafe to drive. it is a known problem with the armada and titan and nissan continues to deny the problem. my wife nearly had 2 accidents during the incidents. the dealer states turning the car on and off resets it but there is no way to determine when it can happen again. it is extremely dangerous and should be addressed with a recall by nissan.

Had a near miss vehicle accident due to the vdc (vehicle dynamic control) module/computer failure and caused brake system to malfunction and not stop car. while traveling 30 mph +/- in a left turn lane and tried to stop at a red light. the brakes did not grab right, had a severe metal squeal. the brake pedal shuddered. the car went through the stop line into the intersection and oncoming traffic. the one car coming head on was able to stop. they made an emergency stop. had to turn left into the parking lot and to a clear area in the lot to let vehicle slow on its own and finally stop. vehicle brake lamp was lit on the instrument cluster. put vehicle into park and light stayed lit. put vehicle back in drive and tested brakes. they still would not brake correctly and had that loud noise with a shudder felt on the pedal. called the dealer where car has been in for same complaint 2 times. they asked if i could drive it in, i said no and had to pay for a tow. when car was at dealer and restarted brake light was off and no problem with brakes. dealer did a check of codes from onboard computer. had a c-1179. i was told there was a known issue with this complaint and the vdc failure. there was a tsb for this condition, it had been out for more than a year. we have had the car in for a complaint of sudden brake pedal shudder and screech noise 2 times in the last year. nissan dealer said it was a brake and rotor problem and had a tsb for the replacement. dealer did tsb work for a brake judder 2 times. told dealer this was the worst time this happened. that prior times the brake light was gone when we restarted the car and the brake problem was gone. bought car pre-owned. car showed a brake rotor tsb was done. current dealer performed 2 more brake rotor tsb's. i question whether other complaints of a brake pedal shudder vs judder is not a mild form of the vdc failure? thanks to the other driver on being alert and making this a near miss accident and not a full on collision. *tr

Driving my 2005 nissan armada, pushed on brake pedal to stop only to find the brakes failed completely, the brake light came on, and the pedal went to the floor. brakes made a "grinding" noise and i was able to put in neutral until stopped and then to park. turned vehicle off, and problem disappeared. when i went to the dealer they said nothing was wrong and i was ok to keep driving! *tr

Odi # 10172594 nissan armada continuous brake problem. *jb

When driving our nissan armada, there was a grinding noise upon braking. a few seconds later, the brake light appears. as the car is still moving & braking again, the grinding is still there & it sounds like metal, however, when applying pressure to the brake pedal, it feels like there are no brakes. i would have to brake well ahead to avoid hitting the car in front of me. as i accelarte the gas, the armada has a hard time picking up speed (this is a v8 vehicle with lots of power) & feels sluggish trying to go beyond 40 miles per hour. i would have to pull over and turn car off completely for a few minutes & restart vehicle. we have 2 children that we drive around in this unsafe vehicle especially with the brake problem. this instance has happened on more than 4 occasions & both my husband & i experienced it. my husband was on the freeway when it happened to him. i brought the car to a nissan dealership when it happened to me while i was driving. i went straight over to nissan with kids in tow & paid approximately $85 with no results. service tech states they did not find anything wrong & did not fix anything. i know i am not the only one with this braking problem. the braking problem happened again this morning while driving on my way to work. i stopped for a minute, turned off the ignition, & restarted it. the problem this time did not go away. i feel very unsafe. does something tragic need to happen first before nissan addresses this problem? there are numerous forums on the web claiming brake problems with the nissan armada, however, it has not been properly addressed or fixed permantly. i did my research & all i can see are temporary fixes. please...please...before anything tragic may happen (ex: toyota/lexus brake recalls), have nissan find a permanent solution. there are many armada drivers out there that are at a high risk of an accident.

While driving my 2005 nissan armada last fall, i tapped the brakes and encountered a severe vibration phenomena that i had never experienced on a vehicle before. i stopped. turned off vehicle. called for my husband to help. when he arrived, i started the car and the problem was gone. i took it to my local dealer in manchester, tn (roberts nissan 931-728-2212). at that time, the vehicle was still under warranty. they were unable to reproduce the vibration or to find the problem, but they went ahead and changed out some brake pads and did some repair on the rotors. i had no further problems until this month. this time my husband was with me when the same vibration occurred. he thought that it felt like the abs was trying to kick in for some unknown reason. i had never had an abs vehicle, so i wasn't familiar with that type of braking reaction. i called the dealer and told them that the exact same thing had happened again and that i was bringing the vehicle to them. this time they told me that they had seen that same type of thing on a titan truck recently. sure enough, after checking they discovered an abs transducer needed replacing. it was back ordered, and they gave me another car to drive because they felt that it would be unsafe for me to drive the vehicle. they were afraid of the problem occurring while driving at highway speed on the interstate. although the problem was first noticed and reported while under warranty, nissan would not fully cover the repair. it apparently was also a safety issue. i believe that the dealer was trying to help, but i am very disappointed with nissan and filed a complaint (file #5775171). i felt that my repair bill should've been covered entirely. i also wonder if perhaps a recall should be done based on the safety issue and the fact that the part was back ordered which leads me to believe there may be many others with the same problem. my repair bill was $782.67.

Thanks for your email. we'll keep a watch on this. in the meantime, you need to file a complaint with the national highway traffic safety administration or nhtsa. you can file a complaint by going to http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/. let us know if you receive any kind of response.thanks again, brian sasser investigative producer kprc-tv 713-778-4965 713-771-4930 fax [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from: michael quirin [mailto:[email protected]] sent: saturday, july 28, 2007 1:54 pm to: [email protected] subject: this could be the next firestone tire type of disaster... i was at the nissan dealership today, and a lady came in because her nissan armada lost its ability to brake (all of the sudden out of nowhere). once she finally came to a stop and turned the car off and back on, everything was okay. i spoke to the service reps, and they said this is a known issue and nissan haven't done a recall (they were very concerned about this). this is very alarming because i own an ?05 armada that my wife drives with our two children. i went online, and found cases of this happening all over with too many close calls. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/armada/1852-brake-problems.html ... is just one forum link i will attach where you can read about this issue. somebody needs to get nissan to do something quickly, or people will get hurt or even killed! thanks, mike quirin *tr

My 2005 nissan armada have brake problems the vehicle at no particular time the brakes will fail having a spring clonk noise several times coming from the front brakes when this problem happens the vehicle will not stop the brake pedal will travel all the way down with no braking power to the wheels. this problem has happened to me many times over the years, i have taken the vehicle in numerous times to nissan dealers. unfortunately dealer can't replicate this problem telling me that there is nothing wrong with the brakes. now my warranty is over and there is no way that the dealer will cover these expenses. i have told the dealers that this is a very serious problem that somebody could die if there is no brakes that nissan should recall the brakes, so far nissan has not done anything to fix this issue. *kb

Tl*the contact's mother owns a 2005 nissan armada. while driving above 40 mph with the brake pedal slightly depressed, the brake icon illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle makes a hard stop and the failure occurred intermittently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer three times and they could not duplicate the failure. the current mileage was 36,000 and failure mileage was 25,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. while driving 10 mph and engaging the brake pedal, it failed to respond. prior to the failure, he heard a grinding and knocking noise. he was forced to use the emergency brake to slow the vehicle down. he was able to safely drive onto the emergency lane and shut the engine off. within a few minutes he turned the vehicle on and the brake system began functioning normally. the dealer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls. the failure has occurred twice. nissan corporation gave him a claim number and advised him to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired at his own expense. the vehicle has not been repaired. the contact is familiar with other related year, make and model vehicles with the identical failure. the failure and current mileage was 45860. updated 2/26/10 *cn updated 05/11/10.*jb

4wd light would engage intermittently. stayed on for the duration that the vehicle was on. this has happened 3 times at approx mileage: 1530 miles, 3650 miles & yesterday 10/31/06 at 9:15 p.m. pst 6880 miles. brakes & rotors failed at 2200 miles. replaced by local dealership. brakes severely screeched at 5500 miles. local dealership service said "we forgot to tightened up a few bolts on your brakes". at 6750 miles, severe brakes problems. brakes lights came on, brakes locked up w/ car severely lurching forward when applying pressure light pressure. drove to the dealership as is without turning off the car. noticed that problem was serious & gave us a loaner vehicle for 9 days. local dealership said they have never seen this failure code before on any nissan vehicle for a brake issue. "delta strokeforce" local dealership was unable to repair the problem; drove it to a neighboring dealership 180 miles r/t. the neighboring dealership re-programmed the internal computer & assured me the problem was fixed. tonight 11/01/2006, brake light came on & brakes failed again with my wife & kids in the vehicle. could not make a stop off a freeway exit & just about put her foot through the floorboard trying to do so. brakes engaged suddenly skidding the tires through the intersection. mileage at time of incident 6927. it is now at 6930; my wife & i will be driving it to the local dealership in the morning. *nm

I own a 2005 nissan armada (16,000 miles) with brake problems. i purchased the vehicle on august 22, 2006. it was taken to a nissan dealer two days later with brake problems. the dealer replaced the front rotors and pads, the rear rotors were resurfaced with new pads. i picked the vehicle up on friday, and returned with it back to the dealer on monday. my armada was not fixed. the steering wheel still was violently shaking, and the front brake pedal was spongy,as well as the brakes over heating. the dealer had the armada for three days to fix/replace a front caliper new pads again, and wheel balance. i believe more work was done, however the work order does not reflect any other repairs. what really disturbs me is that i found out that in october of 2005 the armada had the brakes replaced by the original owner. the vehicle was not even a year old at that time. this makes 3 repairs for the same problem in less than two years. nissan states the brakes issues are corrected, i think that every 10k i will have to have the brakes replaced over and over. nissan stated that no other pads or rotors will be covered under a warranty, since they were fixed twice already. i will say the dealer has been very good so far,but what happens when i need brakes again. i am aware of other armada owners with this same issue. what can be done to finally correct this safety problem. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. the contact stated that while driving 40 mph, he applied the brakes and the brake pedal vibrated. a slippage light also illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact stated that the failure occurred while driving on a dry road surface. an authorized dealer was notified and stated that the rotors would have to be turned, but they did not diagnose the actual failure. the failure occurred a total of three times and was never repaired. the failure mileage was 10,000 and the current mileage was 140,000.

2005 nissan armada brakes shake when applying the breaks. the rotors are warped. shaking is getting worse. *jb

I own a 2005 nissan armada with 7000 miles and the brake rotors seem to be warped already. i have a cousin who has a 2004 titan and has had plenty of brake problems also. when braking, especially at higher speeds, the steering wheel has a lot of vibration. after doing research on the internet there seems to be a lot of other people with the same problem. but nissan has yet to recall these vehicles with these problems. there are service bulletins out to replace the front and rear rotors and brake pads but after reading many of the complaints posted by other people they only want to turn the rotors which is not the solution. i would like to know what my rights are and how to get nissan to correct the problem right the first time. *jb

1) just traded my car in for a "brand new" 2005 nissan armada in january 2006. the brake light on the dashboard lights up while driving. it has about 4000 miles on it. the problem started at 600 miles. i bought the suv with over 400 miles on it. 2) the brake light on the dashboard lights up while driving. as you apply the brakes, the brake pedal vibrakes and makes a clicking/mechanical noise. this happens every 5-7 days. it has happened several times with my family (we have a 5 yr-old and a 2 yr-old) in the suv. we have had to stop in the middle of the intersection or pull over to the side of the road, while blocking the right lane many times. 3) to temporarily correct the problem, you would have to pull over asap. there were times where i had to just stop the vehicle as the suv would just vibrate and the braking appears to be weak. once pulled over, you have to stop the ignition and restart the car. i took it to my dealer and they said they only had to replace the fuses. then about 1-2 weeks later, i had to drive it to another dealer, where they described the rotors as being warped. they put in a new brake kit but the problem remains. *nm

This will be my second complain filed for the same vehicle. at 14000 miles my vehicle once again is having brake failure i took in my vehicle and service manager suggested that it might be my brake pads and it will cost me aprox. $200 to $300 taking in my the my brake pads and rotors had already been replaced at 7000 miles. after being in the shop for 2 days they found nothing wrong with my pads, however i my problem still continued, when downhill i would feel grinding when braking and if i suddenly brake i felt it even more. to one point that i almost hit a car in front of me thank god i was able to stop because i was probably going about 10 mph. i finally took my vehicle back to the shop and this time they found the problem to be brake pads, and rotors but no charge is going to be made to me because it is covered by warranty. *nm

The brakes on my 2005 armada warped at about 5,000 miles. i took it to the dealership and was informed they have an upgrade kit to fix the problem because the stock brakes are too small for the vehicle. when i picked up the vehicle, i was informed that they only turned the rotors because they didn't have the parts and now cannot give me the upgrade because there is no visible problem and nissan will not authorize the work. i was never asked if i wanted the rotors turned. it appears that they are trying to avoid a recall by making it look like they are fixing the problem, but then only doing what costs them the least. *nm

I own a nissan armada suv (model le 5.6 v8). the car was purchased new in 3/2005 and now has some 3000 miles. we experienced strong vibration of the steering wheel while braking and took the car to the service dept. at the reno (nv) dealership. yesterday, the dealership told us that nissan has a problem with all armada & titan models of 2004/2005 and the problem is causing all brakes to vibrate as the brake discs touch the brake pads. this is apparently something that nissan knows for a while because all the parts are on "back order" and will not be available for a few months and involves > 100,000 vehicles. the dealer told us that the problem may come back in a few months / thousands of miles and for the meantime the "brakes were warped" which is a temporary fix. we are interested to investigate why (a) nissan has not declared a formal recall to fix the problem and make customers aware that a problem exists and (b) to find out if the problem is hazardous to life and if other people complained about the same problem. thank you. *nm

Bought nissan armada january 2005. by march of 2005 just a little over 2000 miles the steering wheel started shaking when braking. brought car back to dealer and was told rotors too small for the car. rotors replaced. steering started shaking again early june. car brought back again. told it was the same problem and the permenent "fix" would be available by the end of june. told at the end of june the "fix" would be available buy mid july. now mid july with no "fix" available. steering wheel shakes so badly it is difficult to drive. car will be brought in for the 3rd time on 7/19/05 for third visit and 2nd set of rotors. still no permenent "fix" available.

There are multiple issues with the nissan armada 2005 vehicle. 1st, the brakes have gone out numerous times and have had to be replaced. 2nd, numerous rattles throughout the vehicle have gone unfixed by nissan service - some rattles are serious enough to where the front driver's side door opens a inch or so over a large bump in the road (something could be wrong with the latching mechanism or form fit between the door and body). the rear cargo door has rattle and vibration issues. 3rd) a serious visibility issue through the front windshield has been ignored by nissan service and customer service. there is a serious visiual problem through the front windshield that causes double vision (some sort of optical issue with carlex glass) - nissan has refused to repair due to comparison with other armadas have the same issue.

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan armada. when the brake pedal was depressed, the contact heard a grinding noise followed by reduced braking ability. also, while in traffic, the electrical parking brake spontaneously engaged itself and caused the vehicle to come to a complete halt. the dealer stated that she would have to pay $600 to repair the parking brake. currently, the vehicle has not been repaired. the manufacturer did not assist. the failure mileage was 24,000 and current mileage was 41,000. updated 05/13/09 *bf the consumer stated repairs have been made on the brake system 8 times. updated 05/13/09.*jb

Dt: the consumer states when she brakes the car pulls and violently shakes. the steering wheel felt very lose. dealer was aware of the problem. she brought it to dealer on 6-27-05, who acknowledged the problem they were having with the nissans and recommend a repair kit to fix the problem. they told consumer they could not get to her car until 6-27-05 because they were busy with fixing all of the brake problems they were having with the nissans. she asked for a loaner v and they refused to give her one. *ak

Purchased 2005 armada in may by june vehicle went into service because a noise was coming from the rear side. 2 attempts to fix and part was replaced. august 2005 taken to dealer again because of shaking while braking, and front rotors /pads were replaced, and rear rotors resurfaced. january 2006 vehicle taken back to dealer because there was a grinding. apparently the problem were the tires that needed balancing and rotating. another problem was the liftgate, it did not want to open and close automatically. my car has been in the shop for 3 days and they still did not know what the problem could be. as another consumer mentioned the stability of this vehicle was very poor, i have swirved sharply to the left when braking at 50 mph or more. according to the nissan service they have not found anything wrong with this. *ak

Consumer steering wheel vibrates when applying brakes. *ts ***nar received 9-29-05*** the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice within 3 months for this problem. the dealer replaced the rotors but the problem resurfaced. *nm

When applying brakes there is vibration in steering. *ts ***no answer required*** updated 11/7/2005 - the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice within 3 months for this problem. the dealer replaced the rotors but the problem resurfaced. the dealer also installed a new brake kit with brake pads per service bulletin information. the consumer sent a letter to the manufacturer requesting immedaite restitution beacuse the dealer failed to conform to a safety defect within a reasonable number of repair attempts. the consumer received a response stating that nissan was aware of the safety defect and had responded by extending the warranty on the component and by having bosch, co. develop a replacement part. *nm

Dt: consumer stated that the braking system caused the steering wheel to vibrate and pull to the right. he was told by someone who did not work for nissan but for enterprise rental car that the rotors were not sufficient for the size and weight of the vehicle. he took the vehicle to a dealership, and he was told that nissan was sending out the repair kits and will have the vehicles fixed. consumer was concerned that there wasn't a recall ,but nissan was fixing the problem. consumer took vehicle to the service department twice, and was told it will be a continuing problem until the kit arrived to fix the problem permanently. the problem was better when the vehicle was taken i to dealer, but the same thing happened after a week.*ak *nm

3/10/05 purchased car new. 3/17/05 car in shop for brake and steering vibration. 4/11/05 entire front curtain airbags, harness and wiring had to be replaced. car in shop 8 days. car has been in shop a total of 12 time since purchase. mostly for brakes, pulling, vibration, judder, broken parts. also having problems with seat stains that will not stay out of our fabulous nasa fabric! will be trying to obtain replacement vehicle either with dealership or attorney. you have 12 complaints and more that are similar. why no recall. there is even a nissan lemon law website. please help! *jb

Dt: the consumer stated that on march 5, 2005 the driver's and passenger's seat belts locked when applying the brakes, the seat belts tightened like they were choking the consumer. the middle row seat locked, but did not catch in order to keep the consumer from going forward. also when pressing on the brakes the vehicle shook so violently that one could not hang onto the wheel. the consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer for the brakes, and the dealer said that the vehicle needed a new brake system. in addition, the check engine light had come on. the vehicle was taken to the dealers on october 5, 2005 because the fuel pump cracked. the vehicle needed a new exhaust manifold and the engine blew out. the vehicle needed a new engine. currently the vehicle had 12, 000 miles on it. *ak updated 11/29/2005 - *nm (12/05/05) the child safety seat was replaced twice. the rear second row seat snapped and pushed forward with the child in the car seat. *sc

Brake system undersized for size of vehicle, "judder" started at 2800 miles and now at 3400 miles is much worse. dealer wanted to do a temporary fix and i refused pending permanent fix. larger calipers, rotors and pads are desperately needed.*ak

Brake system seems unsafe. the rotors are making some serious noises, and the vehicle only has 5,000 miles on it. vehicle is 2005 nissan armada.*ak

Purchased a 2005 nissan armada in december 2004. noticeable shaking in steering wheel column when braking. this usually occurs when braking from speeds greater than 40 mph. took the car to the dealer where i purchased it from and they acknowledged that there has been an issue with steering wheel shaking, which the service advisor explained, is due to rotor becoming heated and warped. he said that they have a temporary fix for the problem - changing brake pads, rotors, and installing a bolt somehwere, and that nissan was working on a permanent fix. i wish i new about this issue before i dished out the big bucks. hopefully, this problem does not pose a deadly hazard in the not to distant future.*ak

Disk rotors and brakes, had them replaces a few month after leased the vehicle, two month later the car is in the same shape, when braking the car and the steering wheel feels like it is coming off the car, feels very dangerous to drive, dealer does not have brake pads or rotors and is putting everyone with the same complain in a waiting list. what is out options when something like this is happening to all the 2005 nissan armada? *jb
