My mazda6 driver front air bag inflator is hazardous, potentially deadly, recalled nearly 5 months ago and still no replacement part is available. this is my only form of transportation and i am risking my own life as well as passengers every time i drive the car. i live in a high humidity, high risk state (ga) for these faulty inflators and need replacement and safety reassurance asap! *tr

I was driving to work at 733am and my brakes locked front wheel slid card did not stop and hit front vehicle and air bags did not deploy and cause me an accident which car was completely a loss and im still scare that the airbags did not work. im still scare i did not cause myself a worse accident but im emotionally still shaken by the air bags. *tr

I have a 2006 mazda 6 with a vin in the recall range, except i live in michigan so it is not recalled. my inflator will continue to degrade, at a slower rate than those in high humid areas, but it will eventually get to the point where it will have taken in enough moisture to disassemble when deployed. i want this taken care of before it blows up. the supplier has demonstrated an unwillingness to acknowledge it has a problem. no one seems to be concerned that a supplemental safety device can do more harm than good. ask those involved in the industry and you will get a common response that "death" is not an acceptable failure effect. there is probably a pretty [xxx] good reason no other airbag inflator manufacturer uses ammonium nitrate in their propellant formulations. inflators leak. always do and always will. you cannot keep the moisture out indefinately. and i definately do not want to wait until more innocents are killed or maimed by these devices before mine too is recalled. *tr information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall - initial recall for this unit was june 2014. no action has been taken by manufacturer to date, contacting them i was told that no replacement parts are available, and they have no timeline estimate for parts availability. this recall has been active now for almost 2.5 years with no action on the part of the manufacturer, and is not being dealt with in a timely manner.

Recall #14v-344 has been out over a year and there are still no parts/remedies available. how is this possible? now they've reissued the recall under a new number (15v-382) but still no parts/remedies are available. there are millions of lives at stake. is there a time limit? the manufacturer should be forced to buy back cars with defects or pay for us to lease another car until they can fix it. what remedies do we have other than to sit and wait and put our lives at risk?

I have been waiting for a replacement driver air bag since june of 2014. i received a letter from mazda in february of 2015 that stated i would be notified when a part is available. i contacted a mazda dealership in june of 2015 to inquire about the airbag and was told i need to wait until they are available. it's been a year and i do not feel safe driving the vehicle. is there any action that can be taken to have this expedited or financial compensation for the loss of a vehicle?

Passenger air bag light consistently on. had it reset twice still comes back on after 2 years. *tr

Tl* the contact owned a 2006 mazda 6. while driving approximately 40 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front driver side and caused significant damage to the front end of the contact's vehicle. during the crash, the seat belts did not secure the driver. the air bag deployment was delayed and caused the driver's head to impact the steering wheel. the driver sustained severe lacerations to the upper lip, damaged teeth, and facial contusions that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the cause of the failure was not determined. the vehicle was destroyed. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I was driving on northbound 71 near louisville, ky when a vehicle entered the freeway and cut me off. i avoided a collision with him but the vehicle behind me hit me multiple times in multiple locations, spinning me across the freeway. one was a side impact hit which forced my head into the driver's side window, breaking it. i had six airbags in my 2006 mazda 6 and none of them deployed. the rates of speed being traveled were at approximately 55 miles per hour. i was harmed but not enough to warrant a lawsuit according to lawyers, yet my equipment failed to protect me in my vehicle. my vehicle is now totaled as well. *tr

Neither side or front airbags deployed in accident. this car was rear ended at 45 mph and then pushed into a guard rail, causing damage to the front and rear of the car. *ak

My husband was making a left-hand turn and didn't see any oncoming vehicle. the vehicle smashed into him making the car spin 180 degrees. the passenger's side airbag went off instantly, the driver's side airbag did not deploy until after the car had stopped spinning. *ak

Our 2006 mazda 6 gt was totaled in a wreck in which it flipped 4 or more times on the highway and then into the median. the speed at the time accident occurred was 70 mph. not one of the 6 equipped air bags was deployed. i contacted mazda customer service and was told that apparently none of the sensors were tripped and this is not uncommon. i find it hard to believe that not one of 6 would trip in an accident that violent. my insurance also didn't seem to think it was an issue. this is problem because most of us believe that our air bags will protect us in most any wreck, especially one in which you are flipping on pavement. thank god there were no major injuries, no thanks to air bags. *nm
