Tl* the contact owns a 2011 mazda cx-9. another vehicle crashed head on into the contact's vehicle while it was idling. the air bags failed to deploy and both front passenger seat belts did not retract. there were no injuries and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was taken to an autobody shop for repair; however, a diagnostic test was not performed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was invalid. the failure mileage was 104,585.

Attempted to latch the driver seatbelt, but the latch would not receive the belt. after several attempts to latch the belt by inserting it into the latch mechanism, i was able to latch the belt by first pushing down the release mechanism; then inserting the belt. this has to be done each time in order the latch the driver side seatbelt. no other seatbelts are affected. this car has been scheduled into bommarito mazda for resolution of this problem. *tr
