Takata recall: in january, 2017, we received notice from lexus of the recall for the right front airbag, nhtsa recall 17v006. after waiting several months to hear from the dealer, we called them on 04/27/17 to inquire regarding status of airbag replacement and was told it should be in mid-june. having heard nothing, we called again on 07/17/17 and was then told it would be december. we called today, 10/18/17, to confirm replacement of the airbag in december and was told they have no idea when this would take place. we have not received a follow-up notice from lexus regarding this lengthy delay. we were told by the dealer to contact lexus customer service or see what information was available on lexus website. we are wondering if this means lexus is not corresponding with their dealers so that recall information can be given to the car owners. we have; however, received notice regarding the auto airbag settlement. we are very patient people; however, a response from the dealer offering little to no information about the recall is what prompted this complaint.

Takata recall. i received a recall notice and was told 1) i should not have a passenger in the passenger seat of my car and 2) there is no replacement yet. i checked today(8/16/16) and there still is not a solution for this safety defect. this problem with takata airbags has been going on for several years and there is no solution. how can there be no solution. have there been no safe airbags installed in the last several years? if there are safe airbags inflators available why can't they be installed on affected autos. i bought a car to transport my wife and grandkids. and i can not use it because of foot dragging by both takata and toyota. how much longer must i wait?

I received my 1st recall letter last june 2016 & i have been calling westside lexus on the katy freeway, houston, tx for the past few months & they still do not have the part in. it has almost been a year. i just received another letter about the recall & i called the dealership & they said that they are only working on the is models first & don't know when they can fix the es models. i don't feel safe driving passengers around & i don't understand why it would take this long to get the parts in. this is ridiculous!!
