We have classified the 158 complaints from 2007 Lexus ES 350 about AIR BAGS into the following categories.
Lexus es 350 2007 dashboard is melting and compromised. due to the sticky mess the airbags will not deploy properly and death will likely occur. very concerned about the toxicity of the dashboard as well. it's melting, changing color from black to white and cracking. this carcinogenic material is now poisoning all who ride in the vehicle. included photo does not convey the glossy melting ,sticky reality of it all. the glossy melting reflection causes lots of glare and impairs visibility on sunny days. this issue must be resolved before a life is taken needlessly. lexus refuses to replace the dashboard even though they admit that its a compromised part and have deceptively allocated this safety issue as a warranty problem that has expired. because my vehicle is seldom driven and garaged (69,717k miles) problem did not surface until now.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 lexus es 350. the contact stated that the dashboard was melting and created a blinding glare that could cause a crash. the vehicle was taken to prestige lexus of ramsey (1000 nj-17, ramsey, nj 07446, (855) 484-6393), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the contact also received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags). the failure mileage was 90,000.
I have a family of five and have not been able to use my vehicle to take my whole family anywhere for almost a year now. any time i have a passenger i have to ask that they sit in the back seat. the dealership was supposed to contact me to determine airbag replacement date and provide a loaner car if they could not replace the airbag in a timely manner. i have not been able to get through to the dealership and have not received a return call. i feel i have been patient but this has become a burden on me and my family and i would like the airbag to be fixed as soon as possible so i can use my vehicle as a family car as intended.
My vehicle, 2005 lexus es350 is equipped with front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata. as of today november 22, 2017, my vehicle is still not being recall by the manufacturing to have replace the defect airbag. also, my driver side backseat seatbelt is not hold on when latched in. i believe it is a safety that need to be fix. i am still using the vehicle for driving.
Takata recall. we called lexus of fife in november of 2017 when we received notification the airbag replacements were available. as of this date of january 21st 2018 we have not had a fix. when we called the first of the year we were told we we #51 on the list. we called again mid month and were told the same thing #51. there seems to be no sense of urgency to solve this issue. we are scheduled to drive to southern california for a wedding in mid february 2018 and i would like this issue resolved before we drive that far. if this is a deadly issue shouldn't it be a priority to solve it. while i understand lexus of fife can't do free work all day there should be another option to fix this problem asap.
Takata recall - airbags haven't been replaced as of 11/17/2017

Takata recall- kuni lexus at colorado springs, co advised me several months ago that my es350 was scheduled to be repaired in september 2017. they are now telling me that it won't be repaired until december 2017. they notified me that i should not operate the vehicle with a passenger in the front seat thus creating a hardship for my family.
Takata recall. concerned about possible injury if air bag malfunctions.
My wife involved an accident when she was driving crossing an intersection in the city of pomona, ca. she was impacted by the crossing car on the driver's front and side plus the left rear passenger's side right behind the driver. the car was totaled, but none of the front and side airbags were deployed during the impact, which caused the left clavicle bone fracture, head injuries, and leg injuries to my wife. the car was confirmed to equip with side curtain airbags, and knee airbags.

Takata recall - i was notified of the airbag danger mid january 2017. my lexus dealer - new country latham has refused to remedy the problem. it seems unacceptable to permit the delay of this dangerous situation and limit the use of the vehicle to back seat passengers.

Have contacted lexus of louisville, ky numerous times since 6-1-17 and they are dragging their feet, telling me they don't have the parts to repair my car. this is an active safety recall and a danger to me as i have to use this vehicle.0
The defect has been identified for over two years. however, takata and lexus have failed to produce a correction. i have a 2014 acura rdx with a takata air bag issue as well, it has been corrected. the delay on the lexus is unacceptable.
Takata recall. it has been 4 months since the first notification and i still have no date for the repairs and lexus cannot even suggest one. the bags have never deployed.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2007 lexus es350. the contact stated that nhtsa campaign number: 17v006000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. the contact received the recall notification in may of 2017. the dealer was not contacted or made aware of the failure. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that there was no designated timeframe for when the vehicle would be remedied. the manufacturer tried to offer the contact a trade in, and mentioned that they would offer some money towards a rental vehicle per month; however, no further information was provided. the contact had not experienced a failure.
Got a notice from lexus about the safety recall however i called the local dealer longo lexus more than 4 months ago informing them that i had read about the recall and wanted to bring my vehicle in. i was informed that i could not bring it in at that time but to not let anyone sit in the passenger seat until the problem was fixed. more than 4 months have passed and i am just now getting the notice and scheduled an appointment. my air ban warning light has been on for more than 3 months and it has been extremely inconvenient for me and my family to go somewhere and no one except the driver can sit in the passenger or front seat. i called longo lexus for an appointment and they set it up for may 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. however in the response email that was sent by the longo representative she added several additional services that she said that i requested when the only service i requested was the replacement of the dangerous and faulty air bag(s). she also sent me a bogus email address as well as the notification letter sending out bogus website. the website referenced in the letter was www.safercar.gov. however when i tried to access this site on my computer a message came back that there was no such site. this service needs to be expedited because of what my family and i have had to go through. don't you agree? below the question is asked when did this happen. i got the letter today and i called longo lexus today. this is a recall not an accident. however i tried to get longo to do something for me months ago.

Passenger occupancy sensor error code was detected and now airbag light is turned on the dashboard. i took it to the dealership and called the corporate office to help pay for it and they denied the request. the dealer is charging $1800 for the part and $800 for labor. i just got my transmission rebuilt and now dealing with airbag issue. there's been a recall for another air bag issue on the passenger side which the corporate took care of this they will not help with the occupancy sensor not working. please assist us on how they expect the consumers to pay such a price to drive with working airbag. i believe there's been many es350 2007 model that's been affected by this same problem and i strongly feel it should be part of the recall.
Takata recall as i was driving the airbag warning light came on and the flashing lights airbag off passenger side on the dashboard. i was driving on the city street.
2007 lexus es350. consumer writes on regards to takata airbag safety recall. *ld
Air bag not working on passenger side...red lights flashing on both sides..took to lexus service for repair....told they replaced the sensor and that is not correcting the malfunction .....i was told i would have to replace the passenger seat and it would cost around $8,000.......that is prohibitive as the blue book on the car ....in good condition...is only $9,000 to $11,000. my only recourse would seem to have them disconnect the air bags and i don't know if they can do that ....i was in an accident in new mexico in the 80's and the air bag saved my face and even possibly my life so i am afraid to drive without them but i certainly can't afford a repair of that magnitude. i had just started my car when the lights started flashing as i was driving down a city street on a straight road.

Takata recall: based on the loss of utility of the passenger seat, lexus is taking too long to remedy the air bag problem. also, lexus just issuing an interim notice, without a planned date of fix is unacceptable and at a minimum poor customer relations.

No remedies yet and lexus doesn't have a confirmed date about when this issue will be resolved.
Takata recall since the car is not useable for the purpose for which it was purchased (a 5-passenger car), i am asking for compensation from lexus or takata, as there is no indication that the repair can be made in any time frame. it could be years before the repair is made, thereby meaning that we would have to purchase a new vehicle. lexus or takata should provide monetary compensation to make up for this. it is unacceptable that we cannot use the vehicle, and the recall notice was completely useless, basically saying "don't use your car" (for which we paid tens of thousands of dollars). it is calling it an "inconvenience" which is not accurate. the issue of the air bags has been known for a couple of years and lexus had the opportunity to work on a remedy. i am hoping that nhtsa can assist in this matter. thank you.

My 2007 lexus es 350 is under recall for a faulty takata passenger air bag. i have been unable to get a replacement date for this air bag from my toyota dealer; i.e., lexus of wayzata, 16100 wayzata blvd., wayzata, mn 55391, (952) 475-6111. i understand that having an older model vehicle puts my passenger at great risk to injury due to the deterioration of the propellant. the suggested remedy of not using the front passenger seat seems hardly reasonable for an unknown length of time. i should at least be given a replacement date or a replacement vehicle.

Takata recall. status as of 01/09/2017 indicates, "recall incomplete. remedy not yet available." this statement is as of 09/01/17. if no response in reasonable time, file complaint.
Takata recall - car has been identified as unsafe over 10 months ago. passengers not permitted in front seat. no additional notification of intent to fix. delay in repair is basically waiting for car to be retired.
I got a recall notice suggesting not use the front passenger seat over 6 months ago. they still do not have a remedy available. it is causing great inconvenience not to be able to use the front seat.
