Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2011 Kia Sorento

Stability control and downhill assist light came on while driving. when vehicle was stopped, shifter would not go past neutral. in order to get past neutral, had to turn off engine and restart. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that while turning left, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration power. the failure was recurring. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that the transmission fluid was low. the transmission was fluid was filled but the failure recurred. the vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was scheduled for unknown repairs. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v258000 (power train). the failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Driving at 65mph with cruise control set; when suddenly there was a violent jerk/hesitation, and an extremely loud bang, as though i had hit something. stopped on side of the road, vehicle not making any different noise or running different, placed without a problem into park. checked around vehicle nothing out of order, no fluids running under vehicle, tires ok, unable to locate a problem. it seemed like a miss or something with the transmission, didn't notice lights or any thing abnormal on warning system. got back in car and continued on no abnormal noise, shifted with out incident, not sure but i am wondering about a transmission issue, hope it doesn't happen again. *tr

We have previously had 2 transmissions put into our 2011 kia sorento. today we were traveling home from san antonio and the dbc indicator and esc indicator lights came on while driving. i pulled over to see what it was and tried to put the car into park. the gear shift would not move. it did it several times during our trip. it also sometimes makes loud bang noises when putting it into gear. i feel that the transmission is faulty again. we have been dealing with these issues since we purchased the vehicle. *tr

While driving anywhere above 35 mph upon slowing down and the car downshifting the car jolts a loud bang/pop is heard the car lunges you forward it's quite violent i've taken to the dealer over 10 times and they just say they notice the popping but nothing is wrong they also said they took it for a test drive to test the unbelievably hard down shift . i watched them their test drive was from the front of the parking lot to the rear . they never went above 25 mph so they never tested the down shift it's happened for a very long time now and they just keep denying it i also had the top end of the motor go out at 5000 miles and feel like they are just avoiding it being a lemon.

Reversed car from my driveway. felt as if i had crashed into something (heard loud grinding sound). put the car into drive and came to stop. upon pressing the brakes, felt as if the abs had engaged and gripped all four wheels. heard loud grinding sound and car jolted (as brakes were pressed). i had my five year old and three old sons with me; they screamed from the jolt. i slowly released the breaks and applied the breaks again, and same thing occurred only with less force. turned off the car and called for towing. also, a howling whining noise is heard inside the car. the dealership had it for two weeks, and under the guidance of the field engineer they replaced the transfer case. the howling/whining noise continues. the dealership really tried to resolve the issue. the manager herself test drove the car and also heard the whining/howling sound. i did contact the manufacturer, but frankly felt disappointed. i had asked if anyone has called in with similar complaints and was not given an answer. i feel unsafe and very anxious about driving the car. they dealership stated the breaks were fine, and that no error code was detected. i was not given a definitive answer as to what caused the breaks to behave this way or what is the howling noise that is occurring. this is the third major issue we had with this car. i have an awd vehicle and the current recall only covers the 2wd issue (that also has this howling sound). i have read numerous other complaints in which other 2011 awd sorentos are having similar issues. please investigate; someone could be seriously hurt or worse. *tr

Single clunking noise whenever decelerating, which was verified by kia service advisor at ny kia dealership. *tr

Kia sorento infrequent and unpredictable loss of power during moderate acceleration. during certain conditions, which have included moderate uphill climbs, highway driving and city under 50mph and at moderate acceleration, the vehicle will suddenly loose power, fail to upshift when needed, or show no signs of power, followed by erratic shifting and a loud clunk. at other times on highway driving, the car will, for no apparent reason, downshift on flat sections when speeds are between 45-65mph. multiple trips to the dealer: 1/8/13, 95,035 miles- dealer could not replicate, inhibitor switch bracket installed, did not resolve the issue 7/26/13, 106,574 miles-electronic stability and abs light come on, similar to stop lamp switch, dealer could not replicate, did see error codes but did not provide them to customer, reset the computer. not resolved. 10/3/13, 107,842-transmission still jerking, dealer tried replacing automatic transmission fluid, did not resolve the issue. took to alternative dealer-road test with customer-advised the problem will need to become worse and more frequent to diagnose. this is leading to unsafe conditions due to unexpected loss of power. *tr

When pulling into a parking space today, the esc and dbc lights came on and i could not get the car out of drive or neutral. i tried to put it in reverse or park and it would not move into that position. finally, i turned the car off and turned it back on, the lights went off, and i was able to get it into park. this is a huge problem. *tr

On several occasions, the vehicle does not want to go into/out of gear. when staring in the morning, i often have to pump brakes, or turn car off and re-start in order to get the car to move into reverse. on one occasion, it would not move out of drive and into park. while this hasn't caused any accidents/injuries, it could have on several occasions. had my teenaged daughter been driving it at any of the times that the vehicle didn't cooperate and move out of drive, it could have been disastrous. *tr

Attempted to park car while waiting for a relative to get off work. car would not shift to reverse or park- no further than neutral. was able to put car in neutral and brake to stop car. after dropping relative off at home (had to stop car in same manner as above), had to stop in a near empty parking lot, as i still was unable to put the vehicle in reverse or park. contacted kia dealership by phone and was told by representative to pump the break several times in order to shift the car to neutral/park. did not work. was told by rep that the braking "solenoid" ? (spelling?) has malfunctioned and that i should use something like a small screwdriver to push down a button in a small box at the top right of the shifter. further stated that this would release the break so that the car could be put in park. was told that car would now be unable to be taken out of park unless the same process was repeated. i've owned this vehicle just over 3 months. certified per-owed. less than 34000 miles. will attempt to take to dealership for repair. unaware if service center will repair on saturday. this is the second time this has happened, but it was quickly remedied when i cut the car off and turned it back on while depressing the brake. thought it was a fluke until today. should have kept my 2006. this is my 3rd kia. 1st vehicle with an issue like this. *tr

Wheel assembly appears to have completely given out. vehicle traveling at ~35mph when it rose slightly then gave out. vehicle hit side of parked car and flipped on to side and into retaining wall - full side curtain airbag deployment. entire front passenger wheel well completely vacant. everything laying on street including suspension springs. witness to support events. vehicle under 25k miles (2011 model, incident 2012). vehicle totaled by insurance. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, all of the instrument panel lights illuminated as the vehicle stalled. the contact also stated that there was a sudden loss of engine power. there was a sudden increase in engine rpms and the vehicle failed to shift gears while the contact was traveling 15 mph. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer on five separate occasions. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 34,000 and the current mileage was 38,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that the gear shift unintentionally switched gears independently without warning. in addition, the contact mentioned that the vehicle jerked forward. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v626000 (power train). the failure mileage was 30,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. while driving 40 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. the vehicle suddenly jerked forward without warning. the failure was persistent. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (archer kia, 11614 southwest fwy, houston, tx, 77031), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case for the contact. the failure mileage was approximately 28,000. the vin was not available.

At complete stop, car would not shift into reverse. 10 miles later, attempt to park . the vehicle would not shift past neutral. dash light illuminated steer assist and downhill park. i finally drove around until it allowed me to shift into park and restarted and was able to engage into park. 5 miles down the road did the same thing. made it to work and shut car off. *tr

On 11 september 2012 i attempted to place the automatic transmission in park and it would not go into park. this is the 5th time this has happened with this vehicle. kia motors will say there is no problem. *tr

Incident #1 while traveling 45 mph car lurched, and gas pedal was non-responsive. engine was running, but no response. only forward motion was "idle" speed which was not enough power to make it up hill. stopped car in median. towed car back o dealer. check engine light stayed on. dealership replaced a recall brake switch, and said as there was no computer code they couldn't find anything else to fix. reset the computer to clear the check engine light. incident #2 less than 50 miles (24 hours) after taking the car - at 60mph same issue occurred. shut off engine, restarted & drove back to dealer. after starting/stopping about 4 times the check engine light went off. car seemed to respond appropriately. the car is not safe to drive in this condition. should this happen while merging, on a bridge, or in heavy traffic accident would occur. *tr

On several occasion during the last two (2) weeks, i have had difficulty shifting gears (e.g. into drive, into neutral, into reverse, etc); gear shift was stuck. only after several minutes was i able to shift gears again. *tr

After start up when shifting from park to reverse the transmission will shift violently and will produce the same reaction if you try to shift it back into park. this has occurred intermittently and otherwise the transmission shifts normally. if you attempt to drive the vehicle once this occurs it feels underpowered as if the transmission is locked in a higher gear and there is no eco indication or indication of what gear the transmission is in. we took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased on 10/13/12 and picked it up on 10/15/12 and were told that the software had been upgraded to prevent this. since this upgrade the transmission has slipped out of gear twice while backing out of the driveway. when you shift back into park it produces the same violent shift. i have contacted kia's roadside assistance and they are coming to take the vehicle back to the dealership on 10/23/12 since the last attempt to repair this concern did not work. *tr

The other day,i was driving down the highway at about 60 mph in my 2011 kia sorento when i heard a horrible sound and felt a terrible jerk. it felt like i had hit something or had been hit, but there was nothing in the road. my rpms went up to about 4,000 and stayed there. i could hear an unusual sound but couldn't put my finger on where it was coming from. when i came to a stop, i put the car into park, then reverse, then drive. each time, the car jerked and i heard a sort of clunking sound. i called roadside assistance, and the car was towed to the nearest kia dealer, which is where i had purchased it. we were told the following day that they could find nothing wrong with the car. i told my husband that i did not feel safe driving this car and was not going to pick it up until the problem was diagnosed and fixed. we did some research and found that there was a recall issued involving the transmission in these cars. we called kia of america 2 days ago and were told that our vin number did not fall under the recall. we were given a case number and told that we would be notified by the regional office within 2 business days. we also spoke to the manager of the service department and they're going to continue to drive it to see if they can recreate the problem. we're still waiting to hear back from either place. *tr

Vehicle stuck in drive when i was pulling into a parking place. i was able to brake but engine kept running. after several tries, i managed to force it into neutral and the curb maintained my car stationary since i was unable to put it in park. because i was unable to put my car in park, it idled in neutral until the tow truck arrived (20 min later) by which time it had begun to overheat. the incline light was on, but i was not on an incline. the traction light was on and i have no clue why since the car was not in motion. i also called the kia dealer and spoke with someone in the maintenance dept. who directed me to repeatedly pump on my brakes and at the same time to keep turning my steering wheel back and forth. after several tries, i was finally able to get it into park but the traction light and the incline lights remained on and the car was overheating. i encountered another incident a couple of months ago, when i was on a road trip. at that time the vehicle's mileage was about 35,000. i was going 70 mph on hwy 281 s heading to san antonio when my engine began to lose power and the engine light came on. luckily, i was able to make it to a kia dealership in the area. they worked on it for about a week and a half but since then i've experience odd things such as the car jumping or popping when it changes gears. also, it tends to overheat when the car idles for more than 10 min. as well as cruise control issues. i'm very disappointed my kia sorento and i truly feel it is a safety hazard. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorrento. the contact stated that while driving 20 mph, she depressed that brake pedal and the vehicle jerked. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that they could not determine the cause of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 45,000.

When slowing down, the transmission would bang forward. this has been happening all the time the car's speed is reduced. we have complaint to dealer many times. the last time we brought the car in for servicing the mechanic said there was something wrong with the transmission, but could not find the problem. he said he adjusted it back to factory start, what ever that means. we are still having the problem to this day.

At complete stop, car would not shift into reverse. 1.4 miles later, attempt to park . the vehicle would not shift past neutral. dash light illuminated steer assist and downhill park. depressed emergency brake and turned vehicle off with gear shift in neutral. restarted and was able to engage into park. *tr

I had the same incident happen twice in the last week. i came to a complete stop at a stop sign while my car was in drive. i tried accelerating several times to proceed through the intersection and my car would not move but the engine would rev up. i had to put my car into park and then put it into drive again in order to have the car function so that i could proceed through the intersection. i am terribly nervous i will be rear ended if this happens again. i recently had a brake switch replaced because i was unable to get my car into park. i had to put the car into neutral while engaging the emergency brake in order to turn off the engine but i was unable to remove my keys from the ignition. i don't know if these 2 problems are related to one another. *tr

My husband was on private property. he got in the car, put the car in reverse and backed up. he heard a loud pop. he put the car in drive, and his foot was still on the brake. the car began to accelerate on its own with his foot on the brake until the vehicle got up to 60 miles per hour. trying not to hit the house, or the person outside of the property he maneuvered the car into the back yard. the car was steadily picking up speed and his foot was on the brake the entire time. he could not get the gear to shift or the brakes to work. the vehicle struck a tree and that impeded the movement of the vehicle. he turned the car off and got out of it. *tr

When pulling into a parking space when i went to lunch today the esc and dbc lights came on and i could not get the car out of drive or neutral. i tried to put it in reverse or park and it would not move into that position. this has happened to me at least 10 times. today, it took over 20 minutes until it would move into park. this is a real problem. the same thing happened to me last night. i'm getting really aggravated because i don't know when i'm going to be stuck again. kia needs to recall these vehicles and get this fixed or give us a new vehicle to drive without these problems. *tr

Automatic, front wheel drive this happened to me 3 times in 1 day. -pulled into a parking space, noticed the esc and dbc lights illuminated and vehicle would not go past neutral to get into park. after a minute or so of trying to get it to park (while pressing on the brake pedal all along) it finally released and went to park. -the car sat for 2 and a half hours. -on my way home i pulled into a gas station, turned the vehicle off and pumped gas. went to leave and the car would not go out of park, the esc and dbc lights once again illuminated. finally after about a minute or so, while pushing the brake pedal, it released and went into drive. -the third time that same day, i got home about 5 minutes later, pulled into the driveway and again the esc and dbc lights were on and the car would not go past neutral to park. once again, after a minute or so while pushing the brake pedal the whole time, it finally released again after a minute or so. i have yet to drive my car again, and am actually afraid to drive it at this point, not knowing what else is going to happened. i am taking it to the dealership tomorrow to get it checked out. i've seen a lot of others complaining about this same issue and it needs to be recalled and fixed if this many people are having this same problem. *tr

Esc and cbc lights came on couldn't shift into park. *tr

The same thing is happening to my sorento that is listed in od10459049. vehicle would not go into park from the drive position. the dbc and esc dash lights were also illuminated. this has happend 3 times in 2 weeks. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact mentioned that he was able to restart the vehicle immediately after which was working normally. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 300 and the current mileage was 14,800.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the vehicle started to jerk and lunge forward. the contact mentioned that the vehicle shifted from drive to neutral independently. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 25,500.

Automatic transmission, went to shift from drive to reverse and would no go into reverse or park. has done this several times in last two days. the esc and dbc lights were on and should not have been on. i went on a kia forum and there are many complaints for the same thing with cars that have even less mileage than mine. *tr

Stability control and downhill assist lights illuminate while driving. then when stopped, car will not go past neutral when trying to shift into park. also, when driving, the brake lights do not work immediately when pedal is depressed. car will not shift out of park after started and stability control and downhill assist lights are illuminated. located switch at the upper part of the brake pedal and while car was in neutral, with parking brake on, was able to bump the switch box and then shift car into park. *tr

My wife was driving our 2011 kia sorento feb. 2012 (17,450 miles) when it went "clunk" and lost power; the engine ran as normal but no/little power from transmission. she was on a dangerous highway and damaged the car trying to back up to a safer spot. sorento was towed, dealer kept it for three days and said they'd fixed the problem, but kia said the body damage was our problem. today, april 30, i was driving when it went "clunk" - (approx 21,500 miles at 47 mph) engine ran but no/little power from transmission; i pulled over, shut the ignition off and restarted after a minute or so - i am home and the car is going to the dealer. this car scares me - if this happens in other circumstances i see the real possibility of a serious accident. how do i report this problem? other than trading it (and giving the danger to someone else), what are my options? this is our second dangerous incident . . . i don't believe anyone at kia really cares. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. while stopped with the brake pedal depressed, the contact attempted to place the gear shifter from drive to park but the shifter became stuck in neutral. the contact shut the vehicle off and restarted it approximately three times before being able to shift into park. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. the approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

Sometime in oct. 31, 2011, my kia sorento 2011 failed to start up. it took me to dial my cell and call kia roadside assistance to deal with this problem. and now, march 6, 2012, another problem, worse than the first, occurred. it was tuesday morning, while i'm excited to report to work early for a scheduled post conference with the asst. principal, one of my evaluators, i just can't work and get the post conference done due to the failure of my kia sorento 2011 to move via d shift. i went outside to see what happen but i don't see any outside trouble until another driver asked me what's wrong and heard something underneath from my kia sorento 2011 then he said --- transmission. i called kia roadside assistance and waited for almost three hours until we get there at orr kia-mitsubishi dealer shreveport (same dealer where i got my kia sorento 2011). i was told to rent a car for 2 - 3 days since they can't provide me a dealer's temporary car to keep me going and do what i'm supposed to do. after 2 days, i called and was told that indeed transmission is the problem. *tr

While on vacation in south florida, i was traveling on a city street at approximately 45 mph in my 2011 kia sorento sx (6 cyl, auto trans), when the engine suddenly began racing (but not accelerating), and i felt a heavy thump in the rear end of the vehicle, as if it had been struck by another vehicle. there were no other vehicles near me, and no warning lights came on. when i pulled over to check the vehicle, there was no visible damage. the vehicle was purchased in october, 2010 and this was the first time i had the problem in 12,000 miles of use. i telephoned my kia dealer in pennsylvania and was told that if no warning lights came on they would not be able to diagnose the problem unless it were duplicated during a test drive. they did tell me to take the car to a kia service department if it happened again. *tr

When shifting from reverse to drive, vehicle clunks and then jolts forward. when shifting into drive, vehicle whines, doesn't move and so i then shift back into park which results in clunking noise. this has happened numerous times. i brought this to the attention of my dealership on 8/28/12 and they couldn't find the problem at that time. i was advised to keep a log of when the problem occurs which is often but intermittent. just recently vehicle lost power at a stop sign (had plenty of gas in tank) and after several attempts to keep it running it jolted forward and ran fine. *tr

I was driving on i-95 at aprox. 65 mph and felt a severe jolt. this could have caused an inexperienced driver like either of my kids to loose control. i initially thought someone had hit the rear of my car. there didn't seem to be any other vehicles close enough to have hit me, so i pulled over onto the shoulder to see if i had hit something. everything looked fine so i proceeded to get back onto the highway. i noticed the car was sluggish and then noticed it was not shifting gears. as i continued to accelerate the engine rpm continued to climb so i had to drive below 45mph.when the shifter was moved to the manual side it was in 4th gear. i pulled over onto the shoulder again and shifted into neutral and drive a few times but it would always go back to 4th gear when in drive. i had to drive the rest of the way, about 20 miles at a slower speed with the flashers on. this morning i checked out the car and it was operating normally. i will bring the vehicle to kia, but will not let other family members drive the car unless i am certain it is corrected. i now see there are a lot of the same complaints on edmonds. com. is there a recall for this? i could not find one on your web-site. *tr

I was driving to work on monday jan. 9th going approximately 60 mph, when all of a sudden the car jerked violently. then the car lost power i had to pull over it would not drive, i was pushing the accelerator but it would not respond. also the tach quit working, check engine light came on. i called my husband who called and scheduled service with our local kia dealership. on my way home it done the same exact thing i had to pull over again, luckily both times there was not a car following too closely. my husband drove the car to the dealership and they kept it for 4 days and said they could not duplicate the problem. we picked it up on sunday thinking everything was fine, we made it home and went to the store. on the way back coming across the pomeroy mason bridge it jerked again very hard and we had to come to a stop in traffic! we called to schedule another appointment for thursday jan. 19. on my way to work today jan. 16 it done the same exact thing! i don't feel safe driving this with my 2 kids in the back seat. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to accelerate from stops. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they were unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 17,000.

I was driving about 40 mph, when the vehicle appeared to miss/skip gears! it felt as if the vehicle was going to stop altogether, and i definitely lost acceleration ability. next the malfunction indicator light came on and it has not gone off. i am going to take the vehicle in to the dealer on 12/17/2011 to see what may be causing a problem like this. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that after driving 2 mph over a ditch, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly. the contact also stated prior to the failure the transmission was replaced by the dealer. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer to address the current failure. the manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and the current mileages were 14,980.

I was driving on the x-way at about 65mph and felt a huge jolt and heard a loud bang and the same time and the vehicle seemed to lose control a bit. i worked the shift gear to try to regain control and got off the x-way, and turned around to see what i had hit or run over. nothing was in the road. i made it home and made a service appointment at the nearest kia dealership. i barely drove for 3 days until the appointment on tuesday, 10/25/11. during that time we found information about the faulty transmission recall on the nhtsa site (kia safety recall #sc089) that is related to the 2wd automatic sorento. however, the symptoms described are exactly the same as i experienced on my awd vehicle. kia drove it for about 5 minutes and when the same problem didn't present for them, they told me nothing was wrong and to take it home. the kia service team didn't seem to be aware of the nhtsa recall. i have contacted kia by phone and also by e-mail in an attempt to get the defective parts replaced. i am waiting on a response. i don't have a back-up car, and i need to drive every day to keep my job, etc. please expand the nhtsa action number pe11010 - kia safety recall # sc089 to include the 2011 awd kia sorento models and help me get this vehicle repaired while it is still under warranty and before a crash takes my life or that of someone else. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) *tt

Brand new kia sorento (4,000 miles) needs to have a completely new transmission after the transmission went out driving down the highway. *tr

Transmission issues. driving at 30mph when i notice suddenly the traction control and downhill assistance lights came on the dashboard. i tried to turn it off but i couldn't, it just would go away. at the next stop sign i put the car on park when it for my surprise it got stuck, would not go fw or reverse. i had to turn the car on and off a few times when i was finally able to get it to work. the transmission got stuck a few times before and when i inquired the dealership they ran some tests and said everything is fine. after doing some research i found out this is common issue on 2011 kia sorento. several customers had the transmission replaced once, twice and even 3/4 times and the same thing happen over and over. it seems to me kia does not care, it is a safety hazard and a rip off for a $25k car with less than 17k miles. *tr

I was accelerating from a stoplight, and the transmission did not engage, and vehicle seized to accelerate. there was a loud gear grinding noise when gear was engaged, both forward and reverse. car started fine afterward, but same gear grinding occurred when placed in gear, with no vehicle motion. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 kia sorento. the contact stated that two children were able to shift the vehicle into neutral when it was parked and shut off. as a result, the vehicle rolled forward until crashing into bushes. both children suffered minor injuries. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle operated to its specifications. the contact was also informed that all vehicles made by this manufacturer could be shifted out of park in the same manner. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 13,000. the vin was unavailable.
