When making a normal stop there was a terrible squealing noise coming from brakes and vehicle would shake badly. t vehicle was taken to the dealership. dealership stated that this was a normal characteristic of vehicle. rotors and brake pads were replaced on july 17th because the problem continued. even though the rotors and the pads were replaced, brakes lost pressure when they were applied. dealer stated that there was no problem with the brakes. please provide any further information. *ak

First set of brakes were put on at15000 miles. brakes were warped and burned out. vehicle has not been driven since three months ago. brakes are defective. *ak

Excessive wear of front brake pads and front rotors. dealer notified, and replaced four sets of brake pads and rotors once . feel free to provide any further details on this matter. *ak

Consumer's brand new automobile needs brake rotors changed. this defect can cause a serious accident. *ak

The misaligned selector cable for the front windshield defogger makes more fog than it clears. nlm

Horn is inoperative, parts are on order, however due to horn not working a vehicle backed into consumer, causing injury to consumer and daughter. *jb

Ongoing problem with front wheels locking up, and the rear wheels making a loud grinding/scraping noise intermittently. vehicle been to dealer's shop on four occasions, and problem was reoccurring. feel free to provide any further information concerning this matter.*ak

Incident #1> husband drove v1 to jacksonville florida, about 21 days after an oil change. i went out the next morning, started car pulled from yard/ engine check light came on, backed into yard, checked oil noted none in v1( dealer states otherwise) kia road side assistance was called on that sunday evening, 11/28/1999/ v1 via tow taken to gatorland toyota. we where not given a rental until 12/01/99> canister buffer/ value pump replaced, v1 still makes pings, knocks when accel/>12/21/1999> engine light came on while driving> 12/20/1999, engine light came n again, gatorland service tech advised safe to drive( we took car in next day) they would not assist with a rental, same problem with valves, ( purge flow replace) val- sol used> rattles still / techs stated unable to find source. brake pedal depress when coimg into drive, all the way dwn unable to stop in timely manor, barrier in front driveway.v1 pads replaced/ tech stated rotors resurfed, brakes still low, problem with brakes started when a v2 came thru and intersection i had to slam my brakes and from that time brakes went dwn hill.( still rattles) > v1 traveling aprox 75 mph on i-75, heard a thumping on roof of v1, pulled over / saw rubber molding hanging from top/drivers side, then it slid dwn glass, tried to secure back on/ flew off again, shop advised on that same evening, they advised./ not helpful at all> i was leaving for my vacation when this incident occured and have to alter my plans once again for this stupid car. gatorland after having my car all day called to say they would have to order the part, and i would have to take it in and leave it allllllllll day, once again, inconvience to me.

At 1500 miles, brake rotors needed to be replaced due to excessive wear. would brake, and steering wheel & brakes would vibrate. vehicle was controllable. brakes felt like they were pulsating & they were not abs brakes. will be taking vehicle to dealership to check. *ak

Brakes overheated badly, and consumer was able to smell them. also, brake pedal went to the floor. even when pumping it hard, brake pedal still remained at the floor. in addition, transmission failure. when shifting gears, it caused vehicle to jerk violently. dealer notified, and was unable to resolve the problems. *ak

Our kia sephia 2000 is a lemon. we have had to replace the brakes four times because of premature ware and shaking due to poor design. we received the car with a dead battery. we are on our third battery. we were on our third set of tires before 30,000 miles. the gear shift will stick so that you can not take it out of park. the weather molding is falling off. check engine light goes on and they could not keep it from coming on. *jb

Intermittently while driving braking system malfunctioned, causing brake pedal to go to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance which may cause a crash. been to dealer 5 times. dealer could not determine cause. *ak

Brakes are so bad that when step on brake pad it goes to the bottom of the floor panel . if going at avergae speed to stop instant do not count stopping any time cause the brake system is so bad, yes we have take it to the shop. they are tired seeing us their . also suggest that i sell the car. they don 't under stand that this a hazard problem my life is an danger in the road cause of this brakes.this has being a problem still we got the car. the just do not want to hear about. we have drive other car and the brakes are like that. hope you can make a different to avoid any danger matters out in the road. the other was driving in the middle of rush hour the windshield rubber seal flys off out now where. then call dealer had to wait a week now that suggest not to drive on the freeway or go slow by living in a fast city it easy to put my life in danger. would like know what rate the car is rate cause my insurance rate in up cause of preforms of the kia but they did not that informantion the suggest you all for the answer. thank you . mrs . escobedo now you can after six pacific at home or mr. escobedo at work. thanks. *ak

Vehicle goes through stop signs, pedal goes to the floor ,and vehicle will slow down, but will not stop. consumer contacted dealer, but problem was not resolved. vehicle has been to dealer 6 times for brakes. please provide any further information.*ak

Consumer stated the pads and rotors were replaced at 2000 miles, then again at 11000 miles. rotors were warped. currently, rotors and pads need to be replaced again. braking distance has been normal, but when applying brakes they were making noise. *ak *yd
