Problems with 2018 Jeep Wrangler STEERING

On average, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler starts to “feel” problems with the STEERING and its various aspects after 6 311 miles.

Components Affected by STEERING Issues

We have classified the 729 complaints from 2018 Jeep Wrangler about STEERING into the following categories.

COLUMN 1

Recently reported STEERING problems on 2018 Jeep Wrangler

I was driving down the highway when my jeep wrangler jl hit a bump and the car started shaking uncontrollably and it was very difficult to drive. i wasn't sure what was happening so i slowed down significantly in case i needed to pull over. the shaking then stopped but after about 15-20 seconds. not less that a mile down the road did this exact same thing happen again after i hit a bump. it lasted just as long and didn't stop until i slowed down significantly. i believe this is related to an issue with the front suspension and steering column.

Had the recall for the steering dampener done a couple months ago. experiencing extreme vibration and jerking of the steering wheel and vehicle after going over minor imperfections in the road. online research finds it to be the "death wobble" where i have to slow the vehicle down below around 40mph. has happened three times on the highway since getting the recall. did not happen prior to the recall.

While driving the vehicle goes all over the places and its hard to drive in one lane. the steering is very lose to drive then other jeeps. its unsafe. i have been contacting jeep so many times but they have not been able to fix it or did the recent recall.

Similar to the october 30th post, during cold mornings (below 45), when first getting on the road i have had severe steering issues. on two separate occasions in the past week, while trying to make very slight left turns to stay on the road, it has felt as if power steering no longer functions. during my drive this morning i had to slam the brakes and pull very hard to the left to avoid driving into the safety rail (i was going approximately 40 mph on county road). the condition gradually improves and within 5-10 minutes appears no more. a few days earlier i made it less than a mile down the same road and the steering was so unresponsive i turned around as i felt the vehicle was unsafe to drive and took another vehicle to work. that morning my tire sensor showed very low pressure so i assumed that was causing the steering issue, but upon talking with jeep service the tire sensor alarm is likely due to low temps and the steering should not have been affected. i spoke with local jeep service department this afternoon and they are having me drop off the vehicle tomorrow to investigate the issue.

Follow up to safety issue id 11164549 (stock vehicle) dealership replaced steering damper per "star" recommendation at 2830 miles due to complaint of "wobble". i have driven without an issue until last week at 8450 miles when i hit a transition/bump in the road. jeep "wobbles" all over the road and doesn't stop until speeds are below at least 40 mph- not exactly safe to do on the freeway! took jeep back to dealership and they (again) replaced damper today (recall part v-41). first bump in the road and the jeep started to wobble. waiting for a response from the dealership. this vehicle is not safe to drive and this recall is pointless! paperwork from the dealership states: "the factory recall concerns a significant safety or operational issues. there is risk to you and others should you drive the vehicle without the factory recall services being completed. we advise you therefore not to drive the vehicle until the factory recall is performed. so, recall done....apparently it's still not safe!!

My steering is loose at highway speeds even after the dampener recall and new trac bar were installed. it is dangerous on the highway even with a small amount of wind.

On 9/30/19 at 4:30am, odometer reading of 170 miles, while at highway speed, approx 70 mph, on i-295, the vehicle began to violently shake. it was uncontrollable until my speed reduced to 35 mph. at 35 mph the shaking began to subside while i continued to slow to a stop. the incident appeared to be triggered by a slight bump or seam in the pavement. on 9/30/19 the vehicle was serviced at cherry hill dodge chrysler jeep, 1708 w. marlton pike, cherry hill nj 08002. they determined cause to be faulty steering damper and replaced it with part number 68251580ad which i was told was an improved part over the original. at first the problem seemed to be resolved. then on 11/3/19 at 9:30pm, odometer reading 1,490 miles the violent shaking occurred again. circumstances were the same, traveling at highway speed, approx 70 mph, had to reduce speed to stop the shaking, again on i-295 but different location, again apparently triggered by a slight bump or seam in the pavement.

Saturday 11-2-19 while driving on the freeway i hit a slight bump going over a bridge and my jeep started shaking uncontrollably. i slowed down and it stopped when i got to about 40mph. while driving home on the same day i had the same thing happen again on the same freeway after hitting a bump at a seam in the road going over a bridge. this has happened once more since then but seemingly on the other side of the vehicle so now it has happened twice on what feels like the drivers side front and once on the passenger side front. i am now nervous driving as most of my miles are done on the highway and in ohio they can't seem to get the seams over bridges smooth so now i am white knuckling it every time i have to go over one. i stopped at the dealership on 11-6-2019 and was told there is a recall for the steering damper that needs done, i have an appointment on 11-8-19 to get this fixed. i have not had anything mailed to me letting me know of a recall and i just had my jeep there for service 2 weeks ago (oil change and tire rotation). if there was a pending recall should they not have attended to it without me having to experience the underlying issue in the first place? when i enter my vin number on this site it doesn't show any pending recalls, does chrysler/fiat know of the issue and only deal with it when you have it or is there an actual recall that should have been sent out? when doing 70 on the freeway it is not always easy to slow down or get over without possibly causing an accident...they need to get this taken care of and correct any underlying issues before people start causing accidents and someone ends up dead!

While driving down the road at any rate of speed my steering wheel locks up on me if turning even slightly. it almost feels as if i am losting power steering. when this happens i have to pull really hard to get the vehicle to turn but then it could let loose at any time so when that happens it almost puts me iij n the ditch because i am already pulling so hard on the wheel. the only time this seems to happen is when it is below about 30f. which over half the year where i live. it is a daily occurrence in these temps and will happen if i'm going 10mph or 90mph.

Steering locked up while driving. issue happened twice and the dealer stated they fixed it. issue still persists

When driving over speeds of 60 mph on the highway, and hitting even the slightest of bumps, my jeep steering was uncontrollable, and i imagine this is the "death wobble" i have heard about occurring in jeeps. the only way to manage it was to slow way down to 35 mph and avoid bumps of any kind.

This vehicle exhibits a dead spot at 12 oclock/dead center causing oscillations of the steering wheel to stay straight on the road. this issue has been into dealer service no less than 8 times in the first 11 months of ownership. this is still not rectified, however, i am working with the area tech on further fixes/options.

Traveling straight at 72mph (cruise set) on interstate 69 crossed a slightly rough bridge expansion joint. vehicle started to violently shake. severe steering wheel oscillation. the shaking stopped when vehicle was slowed to around 20mph. jeep has approximately 6,000 miles. the new steering damper recall has already been installed. the jeep has the steering damper recall already installed.*dt*jb*dt consumer stated took the jeep back to the dealership 11-26-19. the v41 replacement of the steering stabilizer had been installed backwards. so far no issues with the steering.*jb

Just had the steering damper recall performed - never had any wobble issues before completing the recall. i completed the recall as i thought that was what good car owners do. now, just 3 days later i am experiencing the wobble at highway speeds. very scary! had the entire family in the car coming home from dinner - did not hit any irregular bumps or anything out of the norm. was driving on the highway on a stretch we drive almost daily and out of nowhere, just hitting some "normal" michigan road bumps the steering wheel and front end started shaking. it eventually stopped itself - but then happened 5 more times. we did not know what was going on as we were not aware of the issue or even why there was a recall repair. after getting home and searching the internet i found all sorts of complaints and the reasoning behind the recall. ironically again, i did not have the issue before i had the recall work completed. after reading the article i immediately left a message for my service manager at the dealership and then looked under the jeep to confirm that in-fact the part was replaced and had the correct part number. i do want to mention that even before the wobble i did mention to my wife and notice that i thought that the steering was a bit more "loose" after getting the car back. not sure if that is relevant, but thought i would note that here as well.

Driving on the interstate and hit a bump in the road around 65mph when the violent death wobble happened. grabbed the steering wheel with both hands and was able to steer to the emergency lane and slow down to about 35mph when it stopped. i continued on my way and haven't had the problem return. the jeep only has about 6300 miles on it. it has never been driven off-road. i have always felt the steering has been rather loose for a new vehicle compared to others i've driven. contacted the dealership and they said there is a recall (v41) for a steering dampener part that is on backorder that should take care of the death wobble. we shall see...

Violent shaking while highway speed over 55mph when driving normally. and disappeared slowly when it reduce down to 52mph.

While driving the steering appears to be locking up

Violent shaking of the front end after hitting a bump at approximately 65-75 mph. shaking will only stop after coming to a complete stop. only 4000 miles on this vehicle.

I experienced rapid steering oscillation this last thursday 10/17/19 on my *new 2018 wrangler jlu (not lifted) while taking a trip out of town. we hit a railroad track at around 55 mph and it went full-on rapid steering oscillation (death wobble). had to pull off the road and stop the vehicle for the dw to stop. stopped by an out of town dealer in paso robles, ca and they said the recently replaced (recall v41) steering stabilizer was installed upside down. i have now ordered a new rubicon express track bar and fox 2.0 stabilizer to see if this will help eliminate the wobble. i've owned two jk jeep wranglers in the past and didn't experience any of oscillation. *purchased new 2018 jlu wrangler from dealer last month. the mileage at the time of the event was approximately 1,400 miles.

Since ownership of the 2018 jeep wrangler jl it has had a steering problem and it will wander and you will have to constantly death grip the wheel at all times with both hands. bump can and will jerk the car which can throw it into another lane thus damaging vehicles or seriously hurting me/others and may cause death. i have contacted fca about this matter, they have issued a recall to fix this problem. the jeep has been lifted per a mopar (manufacturer) lift 2.5" with 35" tires which are by no means over sized. fca stated in a phone call with me that they want to see it when stock tires, then they could help, how would having 31" (stock) tires be safe that is a rollover waiting to happen. this steering is most notable around 50+mph and can be scary to drive on the highway/interstate as some lanes are narrow.

Stiff steering in cool weather. exact likeness to complaint dated, october 8, 2019 nhtsa id number: 11267140, with similar vin. components: steering while driving at highway speeds with outside temperatures in 30 to 50 degrees fahrenheit, the steering stiffens to the point that the force to overcome the stiffness and continue into the curve creates unsafe driving condition. this concern was expressed to the dealership's mechanics, but were not able to recreate the same experience. vehicle was bought in december 2018. stiffness in steering was first noticed in the spring of 2019. no problems through summer of 2019. steering stiffness resurfaced last week with fall temperatures dropping into the 30's. this morning, 10/15/2019, steering was worse then and more difficult to overcome. i have not scheduled for dampner service to date. reference to similar complaint, "when temps here dropped into the 40's, i noticed at 50-55 mph, it felt like someone was putting their hand on the wheel and trying to hold it still. it was resistant to turn very far then suddenly would "let go", ........."

When driving at speeds greater than 60 mph steering wheel locks up and won't turn past a certain point.

While traveling on the highway at a speed of about 65 mph, the steering of the jeep shakes violently, left to right, cause me to slow down and in some cases pull over to the side to a complete stop. this event has occurred at least 6 times since i have owned the jeep. we have taken the dealer (adams jeep in churchville). and they have only made some adjustments that have not worked.

While driving on a highway at about 60 to 70 mph the front end of my vehicle will start to oscillate violently without recover unless coming to a complete stop. the oscillation will begin at the speeds mentioned after running across a change in the road conditions such as a change in pavement or a bump in the road. this oscillation occurred two time in the last 7 days. a recall repair regarding a steering damper was complied on 9-12-2019.

Wandering and loose steering issue persist. 1. steering wandering first wheel alignment was off and it had to be redone. problem still occurred than was informed that wranglers aren't meant to go highway speeds. 2. ac blows out warm air and was told that's normal. today i brought in for the first oil change and 3. steering damper recall. well good thing i double checked their work. they installed the replacement recalled part the wrong way. now the jeep wandering is worse and the vehicle shakes at highway speed. we can't keep the jeep straight.

The first time i experienced my steering locking up on me i was going through an s curve about 15-20 mph and when turned to the right my steering wheel suddenly felt as if it was stuck in that position about 30 degrees to the right of center. i had to yank the steering wheel to the left really hard in order for it to break free from that locked position. this scared me so much i drove my jeep straight to the dealership. the dealership proceeded to check for recalls or tsb's and other computer checks and couldn't find anything. from there they tried to replicate the steering problem but could not so i was left with no answers. after reading many posts of other people with the new jl model having the same issue i decided to leave my jeep outside in the cold and test drive it when the engine is cold. i found that my steering wheel felt like the power steering was out. the steering wheel was catching in many places, but again worse to the right. in my opinion it seems to be some kind of power steering issue.

When going over a bump at highway speeds the vehicle sometimes starts to shake violently with the steering wheel and entire vehicle wobbling uncontrollably. the only way to bring the vehicle back under control is to slow down or sometimes bring it to a complete stop. this creates a very dangerous situation when on the expressway and you have to slow down or stop from going 75 mph with traffic. the dealer has put in two different steering dampers and the problem is still there. it is not safe to drive on the highway.

I have a 2018 jeep wrangler jlu sahara with 4,186 miles on it. i am experiencing very loose steering on my vehicle. the steering wheel has a dead spot of about 2 inches in either direction from center.this becomes increasingly noticeable as speed increases and once at highway speeds is extremely unstable. as to get the vehicle to respond / make even minor steering adjustment as you drive, takes a substantial movement of the steering wheel. this leads to the vehicle swerving all over the road and is is really hard to control. it is truly not safe, especially higher speeds. after i purchases the vehicle and experienced my issue, i have come to learn that is it a very well known wide spread problem that is going unaddressed by fca (fiat chrysler automobiles) and is being even more ignored by the service departments of most of their dealerships (very frustrating to be told there is no issues when everyone knows that there is). this topic is all over internet forums, on line article and on line videos outlining the same experience and outraged because no one is acknowledging this dangerous issue.

My jeep shakes violently while driving on the highway under consistent and repeatable circumstances: driving approximately 65-70 mph and hit a small bump in the road (often the seam of a bridge in the roadway).

My steering is very stiff and almost locking up at higher speeds. the steering feels almost like you loose all power steering. i have already had the aluminum gear box replaced b of the steering locking to the left. i bought this jeep brand new and have had nothing but issues. this is my primary vehicle and i have a daughter i transport in the jeep! this needs to be addressed and fixed asap!

We drove our 2018 jeep wrangler about 15 mph down a residential street, slowed down, turned right, and the steering wheel locked up! it would not move at all and the car was still running. we had purchased the car on oct. 1, 2019, from a local car dealership. the dealership had been using this car as a loaner vehicle for four months. the next weekend we traveled to sugar grove, il, to visit relatives. on saturday afternoon, one owner entered the passenger side of the car to program an address in the navigation app. he used the acc function without fully turning on the car. after 15-20 minutes, the co-owner entered the driver's side of the car and did not turn the acc off before pushing the brake pedal and starting the car. that is when, after a slow right turn, the steering wheel locked up and would not budge. the driver turned the car off and then on several times and then tried putting the car in reverse. finally the steering wheel moved. we were several hundred miles from home in a car that did not feel safe. we called the nearest jeep dealer, which was in north aurora, il. it was late afternoon and almost closing time, but they told us to bring it over and they would see what they could do. they entered the car's vin in the computer and found that a recall for a steering damper (v41) had not been done. they did not have the part in stock, but were sure that this would not have caused the steering wheel to lock up. next, they did some tests on the vehicle but did not find anything. we felt extremely nervous, but drove it home and took it to the seller's dealership. they replaced the recalled steering damper and did a tsb 08-092-18 to address a steering issue. then they told us that there were no guarantees that it wouldn't happen again because they did not know what caused the steering wheel to lock up. this extremely dangerous safety issue needs to be addressed!

My son was driving his 2018 jeep wrangler on the highway shortly after having a recall repair done for steering wobble. when he drove over a change in pavement, the vehicle started to shake uncontrollably. the car was difficult to control, but he was able to slow down enough to get to the side of the road.

65mph+ vehicle/steering wheel begins to shake and wobble when a bump is hit in roadway

Violent front end shaking upon hitting bump in road. death wobble???? 4200 miles on this new vehicle.

Driving along highway speeds, 70-75mph and hit slightly uneven terrain (the lip from a bridge onto the highway) the vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. this continued for a while until i eventually was forced to slow down by pulling towards the shoulder. i have researched this problem and i can see numerous people calling it by the term "jeep death wobble". the issue is roughly the exact same as everyone else. my vehicle has been checked by the dealer and they state they serviced it by replacing the steering damper however the issue has still continued after that. it is random however extremely scary when traveling at highway speeds and having the vehicle uncontrollably shake until you have to slow down, which is not easy to do on a busy highway.

Vehicle wanders at highway speeds and is very hard to keep in lane constantly making small adjustments to keep it between white lines.any wind magnifies the problem. dealer installed new steering stabilizer and flashed power steering cpu.helped a little for a while.have read blogs and checked alignment chamber air pressure etc.noting seems to help. seems to me the power steering is way to sensitive when driving straight .my wife won't drive it and when i drive i have to focus without distractions to keep it on the road. very dangerous to be on the road .would like a case number to see if i can the the problem resolved

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 jeep wrangler. the contact stated while driving 65 mph, when the steering wheel became difficult to turn. the contact stated no warning light was illuminated. the contact stated the issue was intermittent with in cold weather. the vehicle was taken multiple times to local dealer lopp motors located at 305 n 2nd ave, dodge city, ks 67801, (620) 682-4728, where they have been unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer had been informed of failure. the failure mileage was 18,000. the vin was not available.

2018 wrangler jlu 23,000 miles. no modifications at all, had the steering stabilizer replaced by the dealer today for the third time. steering shake began at about 12,000 miles, highway speeds hitting small pot hot, bump or expansion joint on a bridge. steering would shake violently and make it very hard to control. problem went away after steering stabilizer was replaced by selling dealer. problem has returned and was brought back to same dealer for repairs. they said there was an open recall on the steering stabilizer that just came out and was to repair "death wobble" they were confident it was fixed. road tested after and said it good to go. i drove it and it happened the very next day. i brought it back and they were not able to duplicate it but agreed to replace the recall part. said maybe they got a defective one. brought back to dealer today they installed another new updated steering stabilizer. the service manager an i went for a ride after the third steering stabilizer was installed. 62-68 mph small defect in the highway surface and the steering wheel shakes like crazy. in order to make it stop the jlu needs to be slowed down below 30 mph..........not safe to do on the highway. this evening as i was driving on the highway the steering began to shake violently again. i tried to find a safe spot to slow down. i was almost hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. i tried to turn the wheel in an emergency maneuver to avoid being rear ended and the steering was not very responsive at all. it was uncontrollable and very unsafe. myself and my kids were very shaken up. what needs to happen before this unsafe vehicle complaint is investigated??

On three occasions in the past 2 weeks, i experienced a terrifying violent shaking of the entire front of the car while driving on highways.harrowing event, thought was going to get into a horrible accident. this is a lease vehicle with only 5500 miles at the time these scary events took place.

I have brought my 2018 jl wrangler in for speed wobbles 4x. while i would consider my previous experiences with this issue minor, what i experienced on 9/27/2019 was entirely different. i was almost in an accident on the highway because when i hit a bump at approximately 80 mph the jeep started shaking uncontrollably. the only way i could get it to stop was to rapidly decelerate to approximately 30 mph. there was no breakdown lane in the fast lane, so i had to skirt across 3 lanes of traffic. a truck slammed on its breaks behind me. i am very lucky to have avoided a major accident. it is irresponsible to call this a safe car tor drive. i called jeep and they opted me into a "recall" campaign that i knew nothing about. this recall should be immediate and urgent. this is not a customer satisfaction issue. this problem has gotten worse, this is now my 3rd steering dampener. i have driven jeeps for many years and never experienced anything like this in my life. please do something before people get killed. i called jeep and filed a complaint, but nobody seems to be taking this seriously. the answer was that i would be "opt-ed" in to the recall. if there are any jeeps out there with the old dampener they need to be replaced now. my car is completely stock has not been modified in any way.

When driving at a highway speeds of 70-80 mph and hitting a bump the jeep goes into convulsions "death wobble" to the point we have to pull off the side of the road because we are so scared, this has happened to us several times since owning it. we don't feel safe driving this 2018 jeep wrangler jl. jeep does have a recall for the steering damper but i don't feel this will fix the issue as we already had this replaced once. the other issue is that the steering wanders at any speed, always having to re-correct the steering, making it very difficult to drive and seemingly unsafe.

Extreme steering wobble at freeway speeds when front wheels experience a bump or uneven pavement/pothole.

I never liked how this jeep drove from day 1, as always felt something in the front end was loose and the ride was wobbly at virtually all speeds. after the first oil change and tire rotation the problem seemed worse. brought it back and 1 front tire was slightly off balance, so was rebalanced and off we went. problem naturally hasn't gone away. annoying and of concern that i finally brought it back to make an appointment to have it looked at when the service advisor said "oh there is a recall on your jeep for the steering stabilizer... i have not ever received any mail from jeep to this regard.. however they will be replacing it this weekend. with this new information, i now search this site and see hundreds of other complaints about steering issues i have been experiencing, and need to register a complaint....as i too have felt the vehicle feels unsafe to drive and could potentially be a problem. seems to me that there smoke under these jeeps and the build of them, and just a matter of time before people will suffer significant injury to themselves or others if this issue isn't fixed and bad vehicles are bought back by fca. i begin my journey with jeep saturday, and after reading all the issues here have little faith that this fix is really the source of my problem but a bandaid on a much larger issue for owners like myself. 50k for a vehicle one would think should buy one a sense of confidence. in my case, there is zero at this point, but unless im parking the vehicle and eating my $500 mo payment what choice do i have but to drive it and just pray nothing happens? i will update this post as need be as we move forward with jeeps "fix" i will make sure to have them inspect the welds on my frame as well, with a build date of july 2018 and frame #186, mine is just a few outside of the range of ones with know problems.

My 2018 jl constantly pulls/drifts to the right. both steering damper and front track bar replaced, yet pull is consistent. happens on any roadway at any speed.

I bought the jeep with 3k miles, after 6500 miles i noticed my tires were not wearing correctly, i was told i needed to have them rotated more often & it would eliminate that, while it was there they fixed the recalled steering damper. after a couple of weeks i started having issues with my air, the dealer told me it was normal per chrysler. i explained what was happening was not what chrysler stated. after dealing with this, i started noticing my jeep shaking when i would cross over certain bridges. took back to the dealership, they said i needed a front end alignment & after convincing them that my air was not right they decided to fix the integrated censor. after keeping my jeep over a week when i picked it up, it was worse than when i dropped it off. they told me to take it back due to the tires needed to be balanced, in the meantime every bump in the road i would hit it would shake uncontrollable. it really scares me especially when i am on the hwy going 70, hit a bump, the only way to stop it is to slow down a ridiculous speed, with cars/trucks going 70+ on the hwy, i can get rear ended. i have called the dealership again & was told basically this was a normal thing with jeeps & there is nothing they can do. they checked the suspension & since they replaced the steering damper they have done all they can, i pretty much have to deal with it, however they did offer a few names of companies that will "fix" this for me. after reading forums i am discovering this is a huge issue, chrysler/jeep really needs to own & fix this. i shouldnt have to buy a vehicle & just accept a death wobble as part of the ownership, especially if you know this is happening & what is causing this issue. all i want is it fixed that is all & i shouldnt have to fork out the money to get that done.

Complained to the dealer (solomon chrysler jeep) several times about loose steering / a dead spot. the first couple times they told me they found nothing wrong and it was a jeep thing. the last time i took it to them the service person said that he thought it was loose compared to his daughters jeep. he did some research and found some info stating to replace the track bar. i brought it back at a later date for them to replace it and when i went to pick it up he told me that he thought it was a little bit better but not completely. he asked me to drive it and get back to him on what i thought. i drove it for a day and called him back to let him know that it was not fixed. he said he would get with chrysler and get back to me. a couple weeks went by and heard nothing so i called them and he said the tech rep from chrysler said to tell me that the jeep was normal. i asked what i could do at this point and he said i could file a complaint with chrysler. i did call them and they gave me a case number and recommended i take it to another dealer. i set up an appointment with car right chrysler jeep in moon township pa and they also told me that they found no problem. the case worker from chrysler called me back and said she got the info from the dealer that they also found nothing wrong. she said i could take it to another dealer or file a complaint here. i did not see much sense in taking it to another dealer. i am not going as far as to say it is unsafe for me to drive but i am saying it is not right. i guess that the best way to explain it is it gets tiring to drive it because you constantly have to make corrections back and forth with the steering wheel to keep in the lane. for what it is worth i have a daughter that is a new driver and i do not feel comfortable to let her drive it because of the steering.

Steering is loose, way to much play around center - about 4 inch - without response, car drifts

Have had the jeep for only 3 weeks now and on the second week the "engine light" turned on, took it to the dealership and was told it was due to not closing tight the gas cap tight when i put gas but the thing is that "i" had not even fueled it because i did not have the jeep long enough to need to fuel it up. the "sespension", steering is very wobbly to and from any where i drive it in town or city and more so when i drive it on the freeway, it is a task and sruggle; arms and hands are sore after i get home for me to try to keep it steady , if i do not stay focus and hold tight onto the steering wheel when driving it , the jeep will go on either to the left or right. i have to be very extra focused and careful when changing lanes as the manouver when doing so or streering to drive/changing lanes is not pleasant nor steady but wobbly and if i do not hold on tight to the steering wheel, the jeep will go off the road. the "breaks", when i break, the jeep is late in stoping, i have to calculate to break way ahead in order not to hit the vehicle in front of me also when starting back up from my foot on the break, it does not take off as soon as i let off the break as i expext it to but jerks instead taking time to drive on and move. also when turning to the right or left, the suspension feels like the street or road is really bumpy when its not. regret buying a jeep.

Play in steering.. difficult to maintain a straight line. especially dangerous at highway speeds.

My wrangler jeep jl 2018 has too much play in the steering. it is bad enough that it can be hard to stay in my lane at times. this is a big safety issue. the problem is most noticeable at speeds above 30 mph, more noticeable at highway speeds. one time i almost hit a cement meridian which divides lanes on the highway. i noticed on the jeep forums there are many complaints on this exact topic for the jeep wrangler jl. why is jeep not doing a recall on this dangerous issue? note - this is a different problem than the steering damper recall going on now.
