Received safety recall notice n28 / nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube which affects some 2012 and 2013 jeep wrangler vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. i contacted our jeep dealer right away and the response i received from them was there is a national backorder on the part in question and get 1 part every 2 weeks. they have fixed 14 vehicles! we are number 45 on the list. 2015 for replacement when and if they get the part - this is not acceptable. how can they do a recall without sufficient parts available?

Several miles from home i crossed a bridge doing between 45 and 50 miles per hour and the jeep started bouncing and shaking so bad (like it had 4 square tires) and veering to the left. i had no control of the vehicle as the steering wheel was shaking so hard i had trouble holding onto it. i braked really slow and kept it on the road till it came to a stop. i had just met a vehicle on a two lane country road (which are not very wide and no shoulder) and was lucky there was no one else coming towards me, otherwise it would have been a serious/fatal accident. the dealership looked at only to tell me there was nothing wrong with the jeep and that i must did not know how to handle the vehicle on rough roads. my husband drove the jeep for several months and nothing every happened to him. october 26, 2014....once again i was cruising down a highway doing 71 mph and the jeep started bouncing all over the road......i did not hit a bump or anything. again felt like the jeep had 4 square tires and i ended up with 3 venti coffees all over the inside of jeep. several miles later crossing a bridge at 35 mph the jeep started shaking all over again. i left word with the salesmans as to what happened and once again the jeep went in only to be told there is nothing wrong with the jeep. today (jan.9, 2015) my husband was driving the jeep and crossed the same bridge when i had the first encounter with the shaking of the jeep........now he believes me that there is something wrong with the jeep. he called the salesman and told him what happened.......only to be told they would look into it. we are afraid to drive the jeep because one of these times we will not be so lucky as to walk away from an accident......we are afraid of us and another family getting killed. what does it take for this to be checked into seriously........someone or a whole family getting killed? *tr

I have received safety recalls back to january of this year on getting a transmission oil cooler tube on the vehicle repaired. i have contacted the dealership every time and multiple times between notices. i was put on a long waiting list. during the past almost 7 months one time they did have the part and did schedule me for an appointment to have it repaired but i had to miss the appointment due to another conflict. i called right away to reschedule and they informed me they would have to use the part on another jeep then. that was over 2 months ago when they then told me i was number 6 on the list and it would be about 2 weeks not 2 months. this is the egolf dealership in hendersonville, nc. *tr

I took my vehicle in for recall on the nhtsa campaign id no. 13v234000 was told parts had to be ordered. today (3 months later) i was notified that it will be several more months because the manufacturer is only allowing the dealership to order 1 part every 10 days and i'm still down on the list. i find this totally unacceptable. after 3 months i still need to wait several months to have a recall completed? *tr

Re: safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube in contact with the power steering fluid tube which may cause a loss of transmission fluid and result in a loss of transmission function which will increase the risk of a crash. i received recall notice approximately 2 months ago. i contacted the dealer (billy bender chrysler jeep dodge) where i purchased the vehicle. they stated that they had me on a waiting list to get the required parts. it has been one month without notice that the safety recall parts were supposed to be ordered so i contacted the dealer again to check on parts. dealer advised me that i was currently 9th on the list to receive the safety recall parts. however, chrysler jeep was only sending the dealer one (1) set of parts per month so it would be approximately 9 months before they will have the parts to fix my vehicles' safety recall. this is unacceptable for a safety recall to go 2 months without repair let alone for chrysler to only supply only one part per month to dealers which will add 9 additional months (since i'm 9th on the waiting list) to get a safety recall fixed!!!! *tr
