Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep renegade. the contact stated that while parked the contact was unable to start the vehicle. the battery was charged and the contact was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. the failure recurred with several unknown warning lights illuminated. the battery was replaced however, the vehicle was inoperable. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic however, the diagnosis was still pending. jim click jeep located at 701 w auto mall dr, tucson, az 85705, was contacted and informed of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. the failure mileage was 44,000.
I have a hard time putting gas in the car though it was the pump but it's everywhere i go and it eats up a lot of gas. the electrical messed up sometimes it won't start i got a new battery and everything but the service people said it has to be electrical my keys never work i have to manually use key and lock the door from inside my gears the engine ideals high and car jerks sometimes when i'm taking off
The headlights were on too long while the engine was off causing a dead battery. no big deal i thought... i jumpstart the car per owners manual instructions (it has a complex battery so even though i've jump started many different vehicles i wanted to make sure there weren't special procedures, it ended up being pretty standard). when it died it was in a garage so i had to manually unlock the gear selector to put the car into neutral to push it into position for a jump connection. i put the car in park and let the battery charge up a while. once the car charged up enough, it started right up. at this point i thought i was in the clear, that's when the service engine light and service transmission light came on. the engine is running fine, transmission was fine before the battery died. not only that, but i could not move the vehicle. it was locked into park. i was blocking the road in my neighborhood while i was manually unlocking the gear selector, i finally get the car to shift into drive and tried to accelerate. only the engine would rev, no movement. try to reverse, same thing. at this point i couldn't get the car back into park. i push the car back into the garage to get it out of the way and go to turn it off. the renegade (push button start) will not let you turn the car off in any gear but park. it was stuck in neutral. after struggling more to force it back into park, i finally get it and was able to turn the car off. i'm lucky it didn't get stuck in d or r if it started working! i've never had such an experience jumpstarting a car and this is a huge safety concern. luckily i was strong enough to push the car back out of the way, otherwise it would be stuck there indefinitely until a tow came. i've read numerous other complaints of this in online forums. each one said a dealership had to reset the cars computer to make it work again.
While driving my radio and headlights will start to surge then immediately after, the steering wheel will jerk out of my hands preventing me from turning the wheel in any direction (locks up). if i don't immediately park the car, the car will shut off on then a bunch of warnings will pop up on the dashboard then dynamic power steering warning with flash. i have to wait 10 minutes at least before being able to restart the car. this has happened every single time i drive the car. this has happened multiple times at red lights, turning into traffic, on the highway going 75mph and/or 30mph.
The car stalls out while driving on several occasions i have had to completely stop turn my car off pump the gas and then restart. the first three month of the purchase i had to have it towed back to the dealership because the car stopped completely and wouldn't not start again no matter how long it was being jumped off . i called the tow truck who used special jump box and he still couldn't get it to crank. now here it is a less than a year later and the same issue again.
The vehicle will not start at random times. it finally does start again and then throws computer errors. it has also shut down numerous times while i was driving down the road. some of these instances were while i was driving the vehicle and others were after the vehicle was shut off for a short amount of time.
When turning on car all warning lights came on and then each one started flickering one by one. then my transmission light and warning message came on. car would start but locked itself and couldn't shift gears . i tried unlocking it and shifted to reverse it would not accelerate and would get stuck in that gear so had to manually unlock and shift to drive and couldn't accelerate. couldn't turned it off gear shift would lock itself. happened while heading back home. so i took it to the dealership and saw the recall for transmission. they ended up doing something else that i didn't say yes to now they are charging me for it and while my car was getting repaired. they gave me a loaner car, i get in car accident in their loaner car i had insurance but only liability. dealership won't give my car back until i pay in cash a deductible of 2,500 and plus repairs i didn't agree to.
2015 jeep renegade limited 4x4 has stalled while driving on 3 separate occasions since purchasing it used from dealership in january 2019. it stalls while in stop and go traffic without any warning. i have to put in park, push the start button to turn it off, and then push the button again with foot on break to start it again. thankfully this has only happened while driving slowly (10-15 mph) in a line of cars towards a stop sign however this is extremely unsafe!
Takata recall. my key keep getting stuck in ignition and my jeep will not go into any gear. it will sometime crank, but it take forever to get the key out. my jeep is still new and it is my own means of transportation. it is at 40 thousands mile. .no matter what i do i can not get it to leave out of park.
I got up to get ready to go to choir rehearsal my jeep would not crank, and the key was stuck in the switch, it took almost 30 minutes to get the key out, finally the jeep cranked but i could not get the gear to go into reverse, drive or nothing, and on the dash board where it tells you how many miles you have on the automobile it was blinking and also on the dash board it say service transmission.. i have read on your site as i was searching to find out why this is happening, so many of these jeep seem to do this when they reach 40 thousand miles. i am grateful that i was not on the road because the day before this happen the jeep seem to have lost speed ifor a brief moment, this is very dangerous something need to be done about this.
The key get stuck in the ignition. this happens more frequently when it is warm out.
11/23/2015 vehicle engine malfunctioned, overheated and stopped working while driving on the highway. vehicle had to be towed to dealership. dealership replaced engine and related parts and i picked up on 12/17/15. mileage 2,411 1/1/2016 engine started making a whining sound and the ac stopped blowing cold air. mileage 2,958 9/27/2016 rattling sunroof and transmission was lunging when coming to a stop. 9/14/2017 vehicle overheated while driving turns out was the cooling system expansion tank. 1/22/2019 keyless entry light came on while driving in the city . mileage 25,601 6/4/2019 vehicle overheated and stalled while driving in the city and had to be towed to dealership. turns out ac compressor failed causing additional broken parts.mileage 26,777
11/23/2015 vehicle engine overheated and malfunction while driving on highway. mileage 2,411 1/1/2016 engine started making noises and ac stopped blowing cold while driving on the highway. mileage 2958 9/27/2016 vehicle overheated while driving on the highway.mileage 10,079 6/4/2019 vehicle stoppped working and overheated while driving in the city. mileage 26,777
I was driving my vehicle when i was getting notifications on my dashboard of different things from torque to transmission. the vehicle then suddenly stalled while i was in the middle of the road. i was at a red light thankfully. i turned my vehicle off/on, then as put the vehicle in drive, i could hear a loud bang and then i drove into a parking lot.
Not even 1 month of purchasing the jeep i was driving on i 40 when all the sudden the jeep shifted into neutral so shifted it back into drive and took it straight to larry h miller and they had it for 3 days i got it back and since that day it pops into neutral again at least 5 more times this time i was driving it on a business road so now i always have to keep my hand on the shifter just inase it happens again and also my lights keep going dim my radio lights and my light in the whole jeep and every time apon acceleration the jeep seems like it skips.
Transmission keeps jerking - no power to engine
At times, my radio has turned off on its own and when i'm on the phone it will disconnect from the bluetooth to my phone multiple times during the call. another issue i'm having is when i am driving, it has fallen dead on me in the middle of the road and won't restart. it's happened at a traffic light and while driving. i've tried turning off my lights, radio, a/c to restart with no luck. each time i've had to get towed home. i have a standard transmission. each time it's happened, i've had fresh oil, gas and a good battery. lastly, sometimes i'll start smelling something like a burning smell as if something is hot or overheating, but i never get a message on my dash. ive also taken it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong. i don't know what is going on and i got it nov 2017.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep renegade. the contact stated that most of the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, such as the fuel gauge, oil change needed, and check engine. also, the contact could not unlock the vehicle with the key fob. the vehicle was driven to youngblood auto group (3505 s campbell ave, springfield, mo 65807) where it was diagnosed that the totally integrated power module needed replacement. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 52,000.
The engine coolant fan keeps burning out, having my second fan replaced at 62,000 miles.
The vehicle switched gears on its own, couldn't recognize when i tried to put it in park or any other gear, and stalled out on me. now shows that the power steering needs to be serviced.
Won't start - then starts. have replaced battery twice and abs module. no improvement dealer has had a month now with no solution
Indicator light for right turn signal out, left turn signal out, daytime running lights out, brake light out and parking lights out cycled while the car was in motion. all lights are working properly. turned car off and back on again, all lights disappeared. researched that other renegades have had this issue, but only 2017 models were recalled.
Daytime/park running light has blown out 3-4 times since purchasing it in 2015. i have taken it to the dealership to have it looked at and all they do is replace the bulb. i am now out of warranty and the bulbs continue to blow out. i only have 75k miles on this truck. not to mention, i have owned several vehicles throughout my life and i have never had a change a light bulb of any kind on any of my previous vehicles like i do with the renegade. seriously thinking about trading this in for a totally different brand of vehicles altogether.
2015 jeep renegade sport 4x4 2.4l 52,000 miles. noticeable fan noise and vibration from electric engine cooling fan, the then vehicle overheated, service engine light came on. service 4x4 light came on, and 4x4 functions failed and could not switch the 4x4 functions. error code:p0481 fan control circuit. failed relay switch. effecting drivetrain failure with the 4x4 system, cooling fan failure, stalling of the vehicle, and engine damage from overheating. this is a serious issue known to the manufacturer and dealerships that needs to be resolved and recalled for the obvious safety issue. cooling fan fuse blown (50amp @ location f05).
Ignition key is hard to remove. vehicle stopped, turned off and can not be taken out of ignition.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep renegade. the contact stated that the radiator cooling fan fractured internally while the vehicle was in motion. the vehicle overheated when the failure occurred, the temperature gauge warning indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. the contact had to wait a brief moment to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (fayetteville chrysler dodge jeep ram, 1223 huntsville hwy, fayetteville, tn 37334, (931) 227-4899) where it was diagnosed that the fuse was blown due to the radiator cooling fan fracturing and the parts needed to be replaced. the manufacturer indicated that there was no recall campaign or manufacturer service campaign. the manufacturer suggested that the contact take the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin and failure mileage were not available. *tt automatic locks wheel stud wrench updated 10/2/18*jb
Third time my renegade turn off when i was driving at the highway. that makes a discontrol in the transmission. i turned the right to stop hardly. then in about 30 minutes i can turn on the renegade.
The vehicle turn off again (second time) when i was driving. thats make a discontrol in the transmission and i cant turn on the vehicle. i went today 06/09/2018 to a jeep dealer in puerto rico ans they said the jeep is ok. everything is ok.
The coolant fan went off track and started squealing and getting stuck, causing the fuse to blow. within a month, and after replacing the fuse 3 times, the fan motor stopped working and burnt up completely. attempted to replace it with another fan, and it blew the fuse again and burnt up the new fan motor also. also, within the last month (today being 9/20/2018) my car has been jumping and shaking when in drive mode. mainly occurs after speeds of 40+ mph have been reached and when vehicle has been driven for a longer length of time.
The renegade turn off when i'm driving at least 4 times in this year. thats make a discontrol in the transmission.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep renegade. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the check engine indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the battery needed to be replaced. the local dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. three weeks later, the vehicle failed to start and the check engine indicator illuminated. additionally, the shifter would not engage out of park. the vehicle was towed to pischke motors of la crosse (434 4th st, la crosse, wi 54601) the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 35,000.
Transmission did not shift into gear after making a turn and returning to the gas pedal , did not shift into gear going up a hill, souding like it went into downhill assist on flat ground, rolls backwards after parked or clunks when going inot reverse also slams into first at time after take off . heated seats turn doen or off after 25 min, heating stearing light will be on and wheel is cold, radio chamges chhanells or volume when controls arent being used, remote start doesnt always work car has been to dealer several times for repair and still not fixed and have not returned my calls to bring it back now at 36500 miles since they have not called back. problems started around 6000 mile mark

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jeep renegade. the contact stated that the gear shift would automaliclly shift in sport mode while driving, which caused the vehicle to slow down. the contact had to pull over to the side of the road to place the vehicle back in gear. the contact also stated that the air bag and other unknown warning indicators illuminated without warning. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer (criswell chrysler jeep dodge ram fiat (84 bureau dr, gaithersburg, md 20878 (240) 252-2592). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, but no failures were found. the vin was invalid. the failure mileage was 43,524.
Takata recall there are multiple electrical problems occurring with the vehicle, along with mechanical problems and the car is used to commute to work and home. these issues have never occurred with any other new car we have purchased from a lot. i feel unsafe driving the car with my family unsure of what other problem may occur.
Twice in two weeks, while driving, the engine has shut off. the first time is happened was on october 29th, 2017 and the next time was this morning november 9th. the first time happened on a city street while slowing down to make a left hand turn, and the other happened with the foot on the gas trying to merge onto i-90 from the ogden on ramp. the radio and interior electrical systems continue to work, but the engine has shut off. turning the key won't just turn on the car again. you have to hold it in the on position a few times for it to finally turn on.
I was driving down the highway, speeding up to reach the 70 mph speed limit, when suddenly my car stalled out and began decelerating. the check engine light came on and the warning "service electronic throttle control " flashed across the screen. the car continued to decelerate so i pulled over and restarted the car.
Cooling fan motor smoking perfusely. and wobbling making a rattling sound, working intermitently.
My 2015 jeep renegade has 43k miles on it and i am on my 3rd transmission, my radiator electrical fan has gone out twice, inside dash flashes warning lights like rear brake like not working, head lights not working, plus the car has shut off twice will driving.
My radiator fan assembly was vibrating while the engine was running. it has now failed. the part has over 4000 back ordered with no eta available.
While sitting at a stop light, smoke began to come out from under the hood and the check engine light came on. i pulled over as soon as came to a parking lot. the radiator cooling fan had melted and was smoking. the vehicle has 40,813 miles on it, and this is covered under the extended warranty. the issue is that there are no replacement parts available from the manufacture. the dealer has another one just like mine that has been there for over a month for the same issue.
The radiator fan is messing up. moving around in the engine and not working most of the time. the temps in the engine are going higher than they should beucase the fan is failing.

Sometimes when turning the traction control light turns on and the car will not accelerate even when the accelerator is depressed - lasts momentarily then corrects itself
One problem i dealt with was a crack on my front windshield from top to bottom, dealership ship had me back and forth with this ! it doesn't show that something hit it , the other problem is the radio turn off with out me able to turn it back on with everything else going off after that . meaning i couldn't tell the speed i was going as i was driving , gas level , anything else . after it turn back on the emergency break goes off and i'm on the freeway and almost cost a serous crash. the last this that happen on saturday 6/17/2017 was the same thing with the radio going off and ac not working at all and over heating. turn off my car and it was leaking from the radiator. second time i seen it over heat and low on the radiator. i have complain many times to the dealership ship about electronic problems and the emergency break setting off when i'm on the freeway . the front windshield i complain since i got my car . all they did was have me back and forth with it . also the back set seatbelt sit belts sometimes lock where you can't put it on or it's stuck .
I live off a busy highway in houston, tx. i feel i play a game of chicken each time i attempt to turn out of my neighborhood in my jeep renegade. the transmission hesitates, the engine light may or may not come on. a host of new electrical messages may or many not pop up. i have had lights stop and start working. the car cut off when making a turn as the car is burning insane amounts of oil. it is not the dependable vehicle i had hoped for. i understand some issues however there appears to be a new one almost weekly. i have hired a lawyer to investigate my case s this the absolute worst vehicle i have ever owned. the car jerks like someone is smashing into the back of you when going 15 mph or less. it loses power and hesitates on takeoff. the car suffers from major electrical issues and i feel this is a cash cow for the manufacture to keep owners serving their vehicles on a regular basis. something needs to be done about this. many owners give the same complaints and the same issues, however no one seems to want to listen or hold the manufacture accountable.
Seeing loss of power loud muffler and undercarriage. random indicators such as change oil, power locks and doors, 4x4 not working. heat at 75 degrees blows cold air.
Since i have purchased the car it sometimes stops dead in its track as i start to drive. i am usually going slow when this happens. i took it in and was told the software had to be updated and i had a lot of them. now, the air broke and all of a sudden the car started overheating. i had to pull over and wait for service. i am waiting to hear back what the problem is now. considering turning the car in.
2nd occurrence of all the sensor lights coming on and engine simply stopping. both times, the vehicle had been braked and was ready to accelerate when all the lights on the dash and gear shift began to flash. the first occurrence all the lights flashed and halted before it could completely cross the highway. the dealership applied all updates to the computer keeping the car overnight. the second occurrence vehicle was just towed to the dealer as unfit to drive. after resting, only the check engine light came on. will know more after auto is checked.
