Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was taken to the service dealer about a year ago because there was a slight vibration in the front end. the dealer inspected the vehicle and determined the tires needed to be rotated. the vibration continued and progressively became worse. today, while driving 30 mph the contact heard a loud grinding sound followed by the vehicle's failure to move forward. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but has not been inspected. upon visual inspection, the contact noticed the lower ball joint was separated on the passenger side. updated 7/3/2006 - the driver's side windshield wiper arm came loose twice. the wiper arm was realigned to factory specs and tightened to the correct torque setting. when the consumer used the turn signals while the headlights were on the headlights flickered. this is an intermittent occurrence. on another occasions the headlights remained on although the switch was turned off. *nm
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 jeep liberty. the contact stated that all five window regulators were defective. a local mechanic replaced all the window motors and the regulator, but the failure recurred. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was contacted, but denied any assistance with repairs to the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000 and the current mileage was 162,000.
Since this car was purchased it has given us problems with the power windows. we replaced on which in less that three months it was broken again. this was very expensive at this time all four windows are broken. i have to put wood in the doors to keep glass from falling. none of the windows can be opened and no sense in fixing due to the cost and they break down again. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 jeep liberty. the contact stated that all four windows fell down into the dorr panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed that an unknown plastic part needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired and the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 88,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 jeep liberty. the contact stated while driving 70 mph, the driver side window fell down and could not be closed. the dealers diagnosis determined that the regulator was defective. the two rear passenger and driver side windows were repaired numerous times, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was contacted. the failure mileage was 27,000 and the current mileage was 69,000.
From march 5 2004, 2 months after purchase of brand new jeep liberty the windows have fallen down a total of 14 times. after the warranty expired i have had to pay a total of over $780. for repair. i am 76 & on social security. the back window has fallen again 2 days ago & i can't afford to have it fixed. *tr
