Vehicle was in motion on the interstate, no other cars around nor big trucks and not under an overpass. vehicle was moving around 70 mph and the sunroof exploded. no windows were down and thankfully the screen wasn't opened.
The sunroof exploded. i was driving on the highway when i heard a loud explosion which caused me to swerve to avoid collision with other vehicles. there are some glass shards that flew out. i had minor cuts on my hand when i tried to inspect the damage. no other factors involved, no weather changes, etc.
My family and i were driving down the highway, when we heard a large bang sound. my husband looked out the rear view mirror to see pieces of glass flying off the car, and realized our sunroof had exploded. we were not following near other vehicles, nor had we gone under an overpass. we pulled over and saw that it had clearly exploded with no external influence (the glass was pressed upward, and there was no other damage or debris other than the glass). we were thankful to have had the interior shade closed as our young children were in the vehicle.
