We have classified the 8 complaints from 2005 Infiniti G35 about SUSPENSION into the following categories.
My fuel gauge is always acting very wacky and is almost never displays the correct amount of fuel.my headlights are always very dim and don't seem like they need to be replaced. my suspension arm bushing are making a lot of noise.
2005 infiniti g35 sedan. consumer found many problems with car and feels been fooled by dealership. *ta the consumer stated two days, after he purchased the vehicle, he noticed defect. a mechanic confirmed the air bag was not functioning, as the light was flashing, the tires were overly worn, the cd player was not working, the passenger door would not shut properly, the wheels were not aligned and the lower cat shield made a noise.
I own a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe with the sport tuned suspension option. rubber bushings on the left and right front suspension compression rods cracked causing severe misalignment and excessive camber. this caused extreme tire wear on the innermost 0.5-inch of tire tread on both front tires, and exposed and wore through the steel belts and radial plies on the left tire. the remainder of both tires' treads show normal wear with all four treads on each tire measuring 4/32 to 5/32. the excessive wear was not visible due to its location on the tire within the wheel well. there was no degradation in ride or handling while driving the car and no noise created to warn the driver. owner discovered the dangerous tire wear during routine replacement of front brake pads. vehicle has all stock suspension with kumho ecsta spt ku31 225/40-19 tires. owner is the original vehicle owner and retained damaged compression rods and tires for testing. the failure mileage was 56,960 miles on the vehicle and 33,788 miles on the tires. *tr

My first issue:engine oil consumption i am an owner of a 2005 infiniti g35 5at. i bought it certified pre-owned at 62,000 miles 2 years ago. from last year (when the vehicle was at 78000) miles i started to have severe oil consumption problems. one day i took it to get an oil change and the mechanic noticed i only had one quart of oil left. by the next 1000 miles (after the oil change) the oil light kept coming on every time i braked. i pulled over and checked my oil and it was extremely low to the point i was scared of driving it further so i got it towed to the infiniti dealer. at that time i was out of warranty and they weren't able to help me. i started looking online to see if other g35 owners were experiencing the same issue and i was shocked to see how many were. right now i carry oil with me in the trunk knowing that it is going to be burning. i hope there will be something done about this as it seems a lot of people have been affected by this issue. my second issue: suspension and tire wear. ever since i purchased my car i have gone trough too many tires (last year alone i went through 3 sets). i am not a crazy driver and always careful on the way i drive especially after purchasing so many tires. i have bought aftermarket suspension parts (to adjust camber and toe as it is not adjustable from the factory) to try to alleviate the tire wear but it has not done anything. i am on my 5th set as of a month ago and i got a custom alignment done to maximize tire life but they have already detected uneven tire wear. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe. the contact stated that camber on the front suspension was causing wear on the tires. both the dealer and the manufacturer stated that because the vehicle was designed that way, there was nothing that could be done. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
Manufacturer refuses to correct under warrant alignment problem causing premature wear of tires 10-15k miles flywheel drivetrain noise...manufacturers refuses to correct under warranty. *tr
I have creaking and groaning seemingly originating from the suspension components of my 2005 infiniti g35. i am also noticing that the car does not handle as well as it did when new. i have raised this issue to my service center several times, the last visit i was told by a technician that infiniti has the stance that the noises are inherent to the car. i disagree and feel that these noises, combined with the decrease in handling, may be an accident waiting to happen. i intend to raise this same issue with infiniti.*jb
I have a 2005 g35 sedan. for years i have heard this creaking/squeaking noise whenever i turn into/out of parking lots and curb cut outs. i have heard this noise since 2006 and yet somehow the dealer never hears it when i take to be serviced. on my last visit a few months ago, the dealer, riverside infiniti said my compression rods were leaking and needed to be replaced @ ($900.00). in an attempt to research compression rods, i stumbled upon a site called g35 driver.com which had a headline that said 'g35 compression rods are total crap'. i read on and person after person had the same complaint about how the rods went out after 12k miles, they had the same squeaking/creaking on turns, more so on cold days than warm ones etc. the bushings are creaky and torn. my husband and best friend both have g35 sedans and have the same noise. however most men don't hear the noise until i bring it their attention. since so manu have this same complaint, i researched your site and infiniti to see if there had been recalls. there are none. i don't know if these bad rods present a safety issue but they most certainly sound defective. *tr
Dt*: the contact stated there is a loud rubbing noise from the front end, which can be heard above the radio. the dealership determined the noise was a cupping on the inside of the tires, this is caused by the vehicle. the tires need to be replaced every 10,000 miles. also, the clutch was grinding, but the dealership refuses to look at this.
The g35 coupe is experiencing what seems to be tire feathering. i started hearing loud growling sounds coming from the tires, it started at 11,500 miles and has gotten much much worse at 13,000 miles. infiniti consumer affairs said...and i quote "there is nothing we can do for you," since there is no recall on the car. the dealerships are telling me that this is normal since it's a sports car, obviously these people don't know about the cars they service or basic auto mechanic info. they did admit that the tires are cupping, but are not doing anything about it. the sound is unbearable and infiniti don't want to admit that their cars have a problem that so many people are experiencing. shame on them. *jb
I purchased a 2005 g35 coupe in july of 2005. since taking receipt of the vehicle the car has pulled right. this occurs on all road surfaces and is more pronounced at higher speeds. the dealer told me the car was aligned to factory specifications. then they changed out the tires and wheels with ones from a loaner car that didn't pull (and had similar miles). then they told me it was due to road crown. the last time (4th) time i took it in they said all infiniti's pull to the right. a quick survey among four other infiniti owners at work revealed that none of their infinitis pull right. the dealer refuses to rectify the problem. [side note: there were service bulletins for the 2003 and 2004 g35's for the same problem.] *nm
Front tires feathering. at around 6000 miles, i noticed that there was an unusual amount of tire roar coming from the front. i have taken the car in for service to 2 different infiniti dealerships and both said i should simply "replace my tires and align". i have less than 15,000 miles on the car. the 350z has a very widespread problem that is similar to this, and as the g35 coupe and 350z share many components, including suspension, i am led to believe there is a reason for the similarity.
