Suddenly receiving a 'keyless start system problem' error message. i had parked on a neighborhood street in 70 degree weather at sunset and the next time i got into my car, there was the error message when i turned it on.
The car is around 58k. the keyless start system problem message is displayed. i replaced and all batteries of the fob and reset every thing to the factory setting, but problem still persists and the walk away auto lock is also no longer functioning after the keyless start system problem message was displayed.
Keyless remote system issue, apparently this is a very common issue with these vehicles after 36,000 miles. i'm unsure if the error will cause the car to just shut off while driving in traffic or make it just not start when i try to start it. this appears to be an issue that should have been addressed via a recall if the issue is this common. there is no option with this vehicle to actually use a key to start it, it is all remote.
An error stating "keyless start system problem" appeared on my dashboard. i also noted the car was accelerating roughly when it shifted into higher gears. a second error message and the engine light came on, stating "emmisions system problem" my mechanic followed the honda troubleshoot recommendation instruction sheet, and removed the diagnostic code, but two days later the errors reappeared. upon taking the car to honda's service center, i was told the fuel emmision problem can be fixed and is covered under our warranty, but the keyless start system problem is not covered (as my car has 54,000 miles and the 3 year warranty/36,000 miles does not apply). the repairs will now cost over $350 to replace the components, plus labor. there are many posts about this problem... should be a recall issue.
Intermittent 'keyless start system problem'. it's very concerning and whenever i bring my car to the shop they seem to have never heard of this issues before. car works, but it is scary to wonder if my car will suddenly turn off or not turn on. please have this investigated.
Keyless start system problem error message in the instrument cluster. "walk away lock feature" stopped working. when i get out of the car, the car beeps once, but the locks never "lock". i have tried both fobs and the same thing. all i get is one beep, no matter what i do. car will start and run.
Right before it's turned on and while driving. i get an error message saying "keyless start system problem". then vehicle will sometimes not turn on randomly. have not taken the vehicle in for repair because i did much research and many people have taken their 2016 pilot to the dealer and after spending money, the dealer could not fix it.
This vehicle is equipped with an auto engine idle feature that idles the engine when you come to a stop. sometimes the engine idle coincides with the moment that you would accelerate to continue going forward, and the engine stalls completely. this requires the vehicle to shut down and restart. it has happened to me on several occasions after i have started to accelerate with people behind me. fortunately the vehicles behind me have not started to accelerate themselves or otherwise this would have caused a crash. it happens when the vehicle anywhere the vehicle is required to stop and go, such as driving through town.
Previous complaint nhtsa id 11111894 submitted 7/17/18. for car stalling after entering into auto idle stop. replaced battery in august 2018 and didn't have any problems until now. has happened at least 3 times now in sept. and oct 2019.. at first, radio or dvd player would cut out but has progressed to full on stalling after entering auto idle stop. same problem as before and all other complaints. after car goes into idle stop, it does not restart after take foot off brake. have to put car in park, press brake, and push start button to get it to restart. can take several tries and several minutes.
Keyless starter system problem light comes and goes. the dealer can't provide the solution. also, this causes the walk away auto-lock feature doesn't work.
2016 pilot does at red lights when it goes into hybrid/idle mode. car takes several minutes to restart.
I have a 2016 honda pilot with 41k miles on it and out of the blue a light came on saying there's a "keyless remote system problem" checking online and it seems to be a issue with the majority of this model and around the same mileage. some owners can't start their car and the honda dealer has no answer. they charge you about 200 to try and diagnose.
I keep getting 'keyless start system problem' error when i push start my engine. the car still drives but i am worried it will not detect the key and stop driving one of these days without warning or engine won't start without any warning. i have changed battery for my key, it does this to both of my car keys, and it doesn't happen all the time but more than half of the time i start the engine. upon investigating online forums, others have this problem and have tried to fix it by going to dealership to replace internal units, changing car battery, resetting the internal unit, changing the push start button, etc., but the problem comes back. so i am hesitant to spend money on something that won't be fixed. i made appointment to fix it dealership and that whole day the error message did not pop up, but the very next day it came back. i hope this isn't some electrical issue...
'keyless start system problem' light coming up on dash. today the light was accompanied by an alarm/beeping also coming from dash area. light comes on randomly, sometimes as soon as vehicle is started- and sometimes when car is in motion.
Keyless start system problem goes on and off.
An error with the "keyless start system" keeps re-occurring. an error code "keyless start system problem" shows up. took it to the dealer and they re-set the computer (for a price), but error code returned 24 hours later. did a google search and this seems to be a common issue with 2016 honda pilots.
Factory stereo. i had brought my car to lia honda in enfield to see why the factory radio works for everything but the sirius xm radio. they told me it would need a new antenna after having the car for three days and not knowing what was wrong. car has 58827 miles on it and is a 2016. they want to charge me 750 dollars to replace my antenna.
While my vehicle was sitting in my employer's parking lot, the rear/back window shattered into a million pieces. after researching, it appears that this is an issue. we have been having extremely warm temperatures lately so i am not sure if that is a contributing factor. either way it is very frustrating to come out to your vehicle and not have a rear window.
I bought this vehicle as a "certified pre owned by honda" and four days after the purchase the car was parked in my driveway, in "park" when i hit the start/stop engine button and the vehicle didn't start. alarms started to go off so i assumed it was the key was still inside the house. as i went inside to check, maybe a few seconds, when i went back outside the vehicle was gone. i found it in my front yard. it had rolled off while in park without engine on. after getting it towed to honda, days later i was informed that there was a problem with the start/stop engine system and that it also needed the entire a/c system replaced. attached you will find the photo i took of the vehicle still in park when i found it in my front yard.
2016 honda pilot began displaying "keyless start system problem" on dash board after starting car. vehicle still operates normally minus the warning light and message on dash. numerous others are having the same issue with the same vehicle and year.
Getting an error - keyless start system problem this error appears as soon as car is started and doesn't go away
My sunroof glass shattered today while waiting to exit a parking lot. the sunshade was closed so no glass shards fell into the car. we were moving at or under 5mph on level ground. the temperature was in the high 80s with clear skies and bright sun here in rockland county ny, today july 7th 2019. the glass was not struck by a stone or debris, this was most likely a defect in the glass.
My car keeps displaying 'key start system problem' it comes on and off. sometimes for a week or just a few days. i have now taken to the dealership twice and they can not figure out why it comes on then turns off. this last time lasted a week and it felt like my car was struggling to move when i accelerated. this is consistent problem with the honda pilots. i checked online and other customers are experiencing the same problem, they tried replacing the push to start button, key batteries and the harness. this happens when i start my car only, i have not made any alterations to my vehicle. i just got my car in april of this year.
Vehicle states keyless start system problem though nothing is wrong? the other week the windows, including sunroof, all rolled down by themselves sometime early morning and rain got in- inorder for me to make this happen i have to sleep walk to my key fob and hit unlock twice and hold the unlock button until all windows are fully down. it was a stinky flood mess.
The keyless start system error has come on recently and goes on and off intermittently. i have changed the battery in the key fobs and the error still comes up. after researching the problem i have learned that several other people have had this problem and in a lot of cases the vehicle will shut down during operation due to the problem. this is a major manufacturer defect that could lead to great bodily injury and /or death. this problem needs to be investigated and and remedied. there have been several complaints through nhtsa about this same problem.
Upon acceleration to pass, the rpms drop, there seems to be no power. lifting off the accelerator and reapplying, the power returns. this has happened four times, three being interstate and one local four lane road.
My 2016 honda pilot have been popping up a 'keyless start system problem' message . it happened about 3 weeks ago. it's sometimes will go away and come back the next day. it's on and off. when this issue occurs the 'walk away auto lock ' also didn't work too. i hope honda to resolve this issue by recalling the model.
As i was parking my car this morning, the keyless start system problem error popped up. i started the car again just to make sure it would start, then turned it off again and then dropped off my kids at daycare. when i started it 5 minutes later, the car started and ran fine, but the system error light continues. we recently had the pilot at the dealership because an emission error light came on and suddenly the car would not shift or accelerate properly. all three sensors were replaced (only the damaged one was covered under warranty) and the car was again running fine, but now this new error light.
The car wont start or lock. 'key fob not recognized' light comes on. intermittent. car is parked, but will drive wiht ight on.
Suddenly 'keyless start system problem' popped up when i put my car into park.
Vehicle was stationary and rear windshield completely shattered.
The following alert shows up: keyless start system problem. it happens as soon as the vehicle is started and remains on. the dealership reset the code but it returned 1 week later and isn't going away.
We have had several issues but the most pressing is that the car will suddenly stop responding under acceleration. this has happened 3 times once very nearly caused a very bad accident with a big rig whilst we were entering a freeway. the car will suddenly not respond to throttle the gauges seem to reset and then the car will go. similar to how the auto stop idle function works except we were not stopped we were under acceleration. we have also had several instances where the vehicle will not start after the idle stop has activated at a traffic light forcing us to turn off the vehicle and then restart it. we have take the car to the dealer several times but they have been unable to recreate the issue and assure us that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle... beyond the problems listed above the car frequently has electrical safety issues with the auto brake and collision detection, i cant even count the number of times that the car has suddenly braked out of no where, no obstacles or anything to trigger it, just decides we need to brake. these "safety features" should really be reviewed and tested better before being put into a production vehicle.
Keyless start system problem code has starting appearing on dash. came on after vehicle started.
Keyless start system problem. changed car and remote battery but keyless problem keeps appearing. if i turn vehicle off and on and run car for a while message goes away but then comes back. some times message doesn't go away at all
A few weeks ago my 2016 honda pilot sunroof shattered while i was driving on an open highway and there were no other cars around. nothing hit the sunroof, but while i was driving i heard two loud pop sounds and looked up and the sunroof had shattered. i had to have it replaced at a honda dealer, and honda refused to reimburse me for it as they did not want accept the liability of a vehicle flaw. i am contacted honda customer care twice about this to find out what caused this and whether they thought there is a risk for this happening again, and they said they couldn't offer any insight on this. i am concerned from a safety standpoint as i want to make sure this doesn't happen again and hurt one of my children. this vehicle flaw could have led to serious injury. i did a simple google search of the problem and found several articles on this topic (such as this one: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-safety/exploding-sunroof-cases-head-to-court/) . while this is not a high percentage problem, i am not alone in having experienced it, and i am completely certain that it was not struck by any object. this quite simply was a failure of the equipment, and it could have resulted in serious injury either from the debris falling from the sunroof if i had the cover open, and/or from an accident had i swerved from the shock of the noise or debris and there were other cars nearby.
This car has issues with the auto idle restarting. approximately 8 times over the last 1.5 years the car does not restart after its idle. it has to be put into park, engage the brake and try to restart. this takes multiple tries to get the car's engine to start again. it's very dangerous. 7/8 times i was at a stop sign or stop light, but once i was in stop and go traffic with an 18 wheeler behind me when the engine would not reengage.
Have a keyless start system problem on my 2016 honda pilot. light is on from the time you turn the vehicle on. it will occasionally go off but then reappear when the vehicle is started again. had the key fob in my pocket and the vehicle would not lock when the button on the door was pressed. had to use the remote to lock the vehicle. need to have the keyless access replaced for $500+ part is currently on back order with no eta. according to blogs other pilot owners have had the same issue could this be why the part is on back order with no eta?? overall not happy with the vehicle. have had nothing but issues.
There is a gasoline smell inside the car and outside i dont see any leaking but the smell is making me worry
While driving car, the panel will show "key fob not detected". when a door is opened, it will beep and display "key fob not detected"
Keyless start system problem
I have 45000 miles on a 2016 pilot ex. i recently began getting a keyless start system problem error message in the instrument cluster. engine will not start, have to constantly keep pressing the start botton and stepping foot break. also notice my "walk away lock feature" stopped working. i check online and a lot of honda pilot owner are having the same issues. please help investigate. thank you.
The keyless start system light has been on for several months. we brought the car to the honda dealer and they replaced the key fob. the light went away for a little while, but returned. once in a while it goes away, but it always returns for no reason.
Drivers side window. when the button is pressed it brings the window down. however this feature is automatic for rolling the window up and down. this is not working. keyless start stopped working, and the most important concern is the ignition for button start is acting up. today it worked in the morning but later in the afternoon the car would not start. dash board lights were flickering. this evening tried again and it worked fine now. this is an important safety concern.
Keyless start system problem error ... it's showing up on & off for past few months now...i see it's happening alot of the 2016 honda pilot yet no recalls have been made....it's happening when the car has pasted it's warranty period
While backing into a parking space at an apt. building at the slowest speed imaginable, the windshield wiper on the back window on my 2016 honda pilot came in contact with an overhang storage cabinet at the back of the parking space and the window exploded. on my backup camera, it said i still had room to go back but that is because the window protrudes more than the backup camera. i am attaching photos here and would like to note how concerning it is that the window exploded with so little impact on only the windshield wiper. i am paying nearly $800 out of pocket to replace this because of a high deductible but it's a bigger worry to me that the design of the back window is so vulnerable. i have searched and found many accounts of weakness in rear windows of honda pilots online and wanted to register mine in the hope that the safety of the design will be examined. i can provide additional photos.
The first incident was on oct 7, 2018. we were at a stop light with the engine idle option enabled. when the light turned green and the brake was released, the vehicle should have started back up, but instead, it stalled. after the 2nd time it occurred, we started to disable the engine idle feature as soon as we start the car. we have forgotten a few times and the vehicle stalling has happened at least 3 additional times. all being at red lights with the brake depressed. when the foot is removed from the brake, the vehicle jerks slightly and then stalls. once on nov. 1, 2018 and again most recently on jan. 6, 2018. luckily, no one has been injured yet. it has been serviced regularly at the dealership directly and received all maintenance recommended. the most recent service, they were unable to duplicate the error or identify the issue.
I have a message on the dash saying 'keyless start system problem' i changed batteries on both keyfobs and problem still occurring. can someone help me
Keyless start system problem warning light is ignited on the dashboard. it started when the vehicle had about 45,000 miles on it. the walk away auto lock feature stopped working also. the key fob battery has been replaced and the warning light still remains on. the warning light comes on after starting the vehicle and remains on during driving, it does not go away.
Keyless remote system problem. noticed this problem after reaching 36,000 miles
