Problems with 2014 Honda Odyssey POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2014 Honda Odyssey starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 24 004 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2014 Honda Odyssey

The transmission was shuddering when shifting.the dealer said to fix itthey would have to flush the transmission three times with new fluid anddo a computer upgrade to fix it.since my car has is six years old and over 75 thousand miles 86 thousand.they charged me $550.00 for this service. my problem is this is a known prolem with honda odyssey, its all over the internet.many different year models, the service mgr. and my salesman both told me 2014 was a year that had many transmission troubles. if its been going on for years they should fix it. and i should not have to pay for itbecause of their neglect warranty or not.

In the morning when i first turn on the car there is big jerk when changing gears from 15 to 20mph i turn the car off and back on and it goes away this happens only once in the morning. during the day driving the streets a very small shudder jerk is felt not as big as the one in the mornings but this one is constant through the day

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 honda odyssey. while driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked and did not change gears without warning. the vehicle was taken to bergstrom honda (located at 3285 s washburn st, oshkosh, wi 54904) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Transmission shakes, judders about 20mph thru about 50mph. transmission jerks and lungs. i have seen countless other complaints *all the same* this should be recalled and fixed.

Went to start the the van wouldn't start. pushed the push start again it started. got 10 minutes down the road going about 30 mph and felt a hard jerk and it shook a few times and the started idling hard and jerked forward . sounded like something was going to fall out the bottom of it.no service lights came on. then got to work shut it off when back out 10 min later and the check engine light and the fcw light was on felt like it was still ideling hard. looks like there is a lot of complaints about the same issue. wonder why honda is not recalling them. i have 61,300 miles on mine. so how many complaints does a car company have to have to issue a recall. these are not inexpensive vehicles. may have to look into an attorney. i can see where this could be a safety issue.

2 potential safety issues occurring at 55000 miles or less with no recall from honda: transmission jerking at low speeds and warped brake rotors at low mileage: issue 1: when traveling up a hill (small to moderate grade) the van has a jerking motion and the needle on the odometer bounces back and forth about 200 rpms with the foot steady on the gas pedal. this has happened for quite some time on hills but now at 55000 miles the van is doing it on a level service while in 2nd gear (or when transitioning to 2nd from 1st). again the foot is steady on the gas pedal and the van jerks with the needle bouncing on the odometer a few hundred rpms back and forth for a short bit until into 3rd gear. i read of a tsb 16-060 that the cause is improper heating of the transmission fluid. the short-term fix is to drain and fill the transmission fluid while a future fix is a software update that is not yet completed. issue 2: when braking there is violent vibrations in the steering wheel. i took it to the dealer, don't remember the date but while still under the 3 year/36000 mile warranty, they turned the rotors which caused the vibrations to go away. now at 55000 miles the van is again having violent vibrations while braking. the rotors should not warp so fast, with low mileage.

When accelerating from a stop light or from a situation such as slowed traffic in a stop and go setting, vehicle regularly lurches and transmission hesitates before locking into correct gear and suddenly accelerating forward. it seems as if the computer is searching for correct gear, but hesitates way too long to lock in as engine speeds have already increased. this happens most often after engine has warmed fully.

We came to a stop at a light and as we started moving when light was green in slow speed something made a big clunk and each time we came to a stop and pressed on gas pedal to proceed then clunk and jerk became louder and more intense. we pulled over turned van off started it again and it quit. we have it in the honda dealer now and they can't find anything. they did add transmission fluid. keeping over night per our choic out of two (or pick up and take home), to see if it does same thing in the morning. it's very scary we don't really trust it on trips. so disappointed. please help us! there is on youtube the very same thing happening to ours in same make and year van. https://youtu.be/4d2ljtbuaks. seems as though when it goes to shift into second thats when it clunk and jerks.

Car jerks violently during mild acceleration, when the transmission shifts between first and second speeds. this can occur right after startup or can start after the car has been running and the car slows down to first gear. it continues until the ignition is turned off. the problem dissappears when ignition is turned off. it occurs very randomly, i.e., intervals of weeks or even months. it is almost impossible to have it occur at the dealer service dept., and it does not give a computer code. the dealer checked the transmission and could not find the cause.

Despite keeping up with the required maintanence, i had to have the transmission rebuilt at 100k miles. shifts very hard when i'm in traffic- lurches. huge spot of paint peeling off the back (since ineasnt the original owner honda wouldn't fix it) paint is now starting to chip heat the chrome on. both doors.

Transmission bucking at low speed after driving a while. when i drive my van off the drive way, everything behaves normally. the issue happens when it was driven for 30 minutes or so. after on the freeway for 30 minutes or longer while stopping at the off ramp waiting for the green light, the vans has problem trying to shift between speed of 20-40mph. the vans body shakes violently as if it was driving on a road with multiple low speed bumps. the transmission has difficulty hunting for the correct gear. i can see the rpm moving up and down crazily as if it engages a lower gear and immediately decides to switch to higher gear multiple times. the problem is most prominent when the vehicle is at complete stops and trying to speed up on the incline street. when it is on high speed, such as 50 mph and above, it drives smoothly. i think the vehicle is trying to compensate between best gear ratio and best fuel economy gear at the given speed. a the speed where constant speed is not achieved such as hill climbing or accelerating from stop at the off ramp traffic light, the computer confused.

When accelerating from a stopped position, the car did not accelerate and at approximately 20-30 the car violently bucked/jumped. this happened ever time i tried to accelerate onto an interstate highway, after slowing down on a city street, or in my neighborhoodt to make a turn or for a red light. so, it happened actually anytime the speed dropped below approximately 20 mph.

Clanking and jerking will not accelerate also was hit in dc traffic and it could not keep up. took it in a with video and honda acted as if they didn't know what was going on.

Transmission exhibits jerky shifting under low speed, light acceleration conditions. generally when going from first to second gear. not performing. at all what a car of this price should no recall but plenty of people are complaining about this lousy transmission.

When pulling out after a stop sign or turning right after a full stop the transmission will violently jerk the car forward. honda recommended flushing the transmission two times to fix "manufacturer defect" and it did not work, actually is now worse than before the flushing, we paid $297 and not fixed. see attached receipts.

I stopped the vehicle on an inclined street to talk with a neighbor. he asked me to look at something so, i turned the ignition off not thinking the gearshift was still in the drive position. after the engine stopped i started to exit the car when it began to roll. i applied the brakes then restarted the car and shifted into park. this is a safety issue requiring a recall before somebody gets injured or killed.

Transmission exhibits jerky shifting under low speed, light acceleration conditions. generally when going from first to second gear. told dealership immediately before car left the lot and was told they would fix it. called me two days later saying it was done, but car continues to do so. service departments are a waste!

While i am driving the honda odyssey today, everytime i was increasing the speed from 0, it was giving big jerk. i stopped and again increased the speed, same problem. i turned it off and restarted, then it was fine. same thing happened many times in past, but never recognized the pattern.

Transmission has hard jerk when shifting at every gear level (1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc.) honda dealer reports that the fluid is black. it only has 57,000 miles. i see many other people online complaining of transmission problems on the 2014 odyssey...honda should issue a recall.

Transmission problems with the car bucking when slowly accelerating after a stop. also accelerating problems with it being jerky and/or un-smooth. it sometimes jolts forward as well. we just purchased this car used from a dealer less than 2 months ago with 16,500 miles on it.

Our 2014 honda odyssey has 41,000 miles on it and we have had to have new brakes three times and rotors resurfaced twice. we just had to have a bent axle replaced. the new axle was also bent so a third one had to be installed.

My 2014 odyssey have the transmission clunk. when slowing down to under 20-30km/h then lifting off the brake then applying the gas the transmission clunks/shudders loudly and you feel it. i can reproduce this 95% of the time. i will be taking this into the dealer and will update. but seeing that there are numerous people complaining of this exact thing honda needs to issue a recall.

We bought a 2014 honda odessey it's started jerking when it was 7500 miles while driving in surface street in henderson, nv we immediately took it to the dealer have it fixed they said they updated the software then started jerking again for the 2nd time when it was 2700 miles that almost cause us into an accident while driving to los angeles. we had it towed on 11/29/15 by aaa from la to oc in our hotel because it is unsafe to drive with my kids in it. this car is dangerous because the jerks comes and go everytime we take it to the dealer they keep saying it needs an software update they kept our car at the dealer for 2 days this time they said nothing wrong with it they updated the software again. we lived in las vegas now we are afraid to make a long trips because we feel like this car is not safe enough for my family. they can't just keep updating software on their transmission everytime the van jerks. plus we never know when the jerks is going to start and stop especially when you are far away from home. this is not reliable and unsafe. the honda need to do something about it for the safety of the consumers.

I leased my 2014 odyssey on june 2014. i'm complaining about its jerking, those loud clunk during shift to 1st to 2nd gear started yesterday evening when i drove home with my wife from airport in stop and drive traffic. the car's transmission continued to do this every time i tried to accelerate between 10-20 miles per hour. it continued to jerk and clunk for 10 miles as i drove on the freeway. this is dangerous and made our hearts beat as it felt like the engine was going to fall out. i took the car to the dealer next day morning and they told me nothing wrong with the car as no diagnostic codes came up. they cannot get the car to duplicate issue now. i have to bring the car to them as soon as the problem occur. they only did software update for me at that time, hope it will help. for one year old 12000 mileage car, i think this is a serious problem. the reason i chosen honda odyssey was its safety rate. now i felt unsafe in this car, especially with my two kids. i started looking online and i see a lot of people complaining about this issue now! hoping nhtsa help us pushing honda to fix this problem before terrible things happen.

On several previous occasions and on this date in particular experienced a serious jerk that appeared to be transmission related when starting back from a low mile per hour slow down. after the jerking between gears it seemed to operate more smoothly the next time. this intermittent problem is concerning as the vehicle has less than 15,000 mile but the warranty is almost half over in months. am considering pursuit of a "lemon" law claim for this and other more minor issues. we told the dealer of the incidents and they said that the next time it happens we need to go to a honda dealer immediately and not turn off the engine to see if the error is recorded in the on board diagnostic system. not a very convenient fix.

I was in traffic and driving a steady 50 mph when the engine suddenly shutdown. after i realized what the situation was i placed the transmission into neutral, steered the car off the road as soon as it was safe to do and stopped. i just had the engine oil and filter replaced when this event happened 3.7 miles from the repair shop. i suspected a problem with the oil change. after stopping i checked for oil under engine (none) and then checked the dipstick (full). i had the van towed to the shop where their personnel checked under the engine for an oil leak and then checked the dipstick as i had done. they told me to take the van to honda. it?s been a week and honda said i need new heads for the engine because the timing ?jumped?. the oil change had no effect on this failure. so far, nobody at honda can tell me what actually caused the timing to ?jump?. the total repair is being done by honda and is covered by the honda's new car warranty. i've never had any kind of problems with this van prior to this unexpected and sudden failure. *tr

We have had ongoing issues, beginning at about 30,000 miles with a noticeable judder in the transmission. the vehicle now has approximately 117,000 miles and continues to develop this problem on average about 10,000 miles after transmission fluid change. this coincides with nhtsa reference #10084801. as of yet, i have not been able to find any resolution to the tsb, and i am growing frustrated by the suggested "solution" of triple changing the transmission fluid every time the symptoms surface every 10-15,000 miles.

My 2014 honda odyssey does not shift properly most notably when the weather is very cold below 30 degrees and first thing in the am. driving down the street it's as if i'm stuck in first gear and then suddenly the car shifts and it sounds horrible as if the transmission clunks very loud & then the car jerks forward from the car shifting. this started happening when my car was very new within the first 1-2 years. i have had it into the dealership a few times because of this problem and they can never seem to get it to 'throw a code' for them. i even left it there overnight so that they could drive the car cold in the morning and it didn't happen for them. it is very random when it will happen? after reading many honda odyssey online chats everyone says it's the computer and you have to shut the car off and restart it to reset the computer. this has seemed to work and stops the jerky shifting for the time being. so now when my car starts jerking me down the road and it sounds like the transmission is about to fall out i have to pull over somewhere safe and turn the car off for a minute and restart it. i thought for sure there would be a recall by now but i guess i should have reported it earlier. to sum it up there is a problem with the computerized shifting mechanism that for some reason when it's cold outside keeps the car in low gears. i have had my car regularly serviced at the honda dealership and every time i've had my transmission fluid changed they comment on how dirty it is? i explained the problem to them and no one can solve it?

When traveling at low speeds the car jerks and feels like you drove over something large when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. in 2nd gear there is significant loss of power and inability to sufficiently accelerate. stopped, put car into park, tried again. car proceeded to jerk horribly every time when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. took to the closest dealership. they were unable to replicate the problem. at times it almost felt as if the car was out of my control because of the jerking. *tr

I was driving on the highway when i heard a loud clunk. thought i hit a bump but when i got off the highway and stopped at a light the car starting bucking between 0-30 miles per hour. it continued to do so at every start. drove it to honda dealership where they found nothing wrong with vehicle. have done research on vehicle only to find numerous other complaints of same issue. this is dangerous! if i was trying to cross an intersection and it started bucking, i might not make it out of intersection on time. please investigate this issue as honda is saying nothing is wrong with their cars. *tr

Very rough transmission down-shift from 2nd to 1st when slowing down, but not coming to a complete stop, and then accelerating. this can be avoided by very slowly pressing the accelerator pedal on acceleration (very slow acceleration). i told the dealer about this problem and was told this is normal operation. i do not feel this type of operation is normal. further, i see many other similar complaints on this site. mileage is about 18,000, but the problem has existed since the vehicle was new (purchased 10/30/14).

While my wife and daughter were returning from a short shopping trip, the transmission started to make a "clunk" noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. immediately upon her return home, i drove the van around the block, stopping at each intersection. the "clunk" repeated every time the transmission shifted from 1st to 2nd. i called the dealer and described to the service department what was happening, and he said that we needed to bring it in, although that was obvious to us. the question was whether or not it was safe to drive. he said that he thought that it was since it didn't make any noise in the higher gears. the next morning, i drove it to the dealer, and of course, nothing happened. they had two technicians drive it, and they could not replicate the condition. they also hooked it up to the diagnostic machine, and they said that it showed nothing. well, all i can say is that it was not "nothing", but they said they couldn't do anything further and to just bring it in if it happened again. i explained that we were about to go on a 3,000 mile trip, and it would be difficult to bring it in while on the road. even though the van is only 1 year old, and has only 6,700 miles on it, i think my wife is ready to trade it in. *tr

As i accelerated from a complete stop at a stop sign and up a hill, the car violently jerked/bucked forward and back at the point where the car appears to shift gears for the first time. as i continued driving, it did this every time i accelerated from a stop. it was very uncomfortable, causing me to brace in the car because of the force of the jerking. i was concerned in traffic that my car was going to lunge into a car in front of me on the highway and made sure that i provided for extra distance between cars. after i arrived at my destination i turned car off and made appointment with the dealer. however, once i got back in the car to return home, the car no longer was jerking around. the honda dealer could not find any problem with my car the next day. i am very concerned that this will happen again. *tr

We got this brand new 2014 odyssey in early 2014, now with less than 7500 miles. recently we have been noticing rough, jerky transmission shifting (very noticeable between low gears). today i went to the honda service and informed them about the issues. the honda dealer service representative was surprised, and told me there is no such issue that they know about. after insisting, he made an appointment this coming thursday morning so that his mechanic to ride with me so that i can show him. i hope the problem can be duplicated when we do the test ride with them. and then i am afraid if the problem does not happen during this test ride or if it does they are not be able to figure out the cause or worst is they may not admit there is any transmission jerking and tell me ..... everything is just fine etc. i hope this car is not a lemon and we end up fighting in a battle with honda pursuing the lemon law. i could not find anywhere on the honda or honda owner's website any link so that i could submit to honda these issues. i like to find other website where i could find more information on such issues. *tr

When driving between 10 and 30 mph, the car hesitated to accelerate. when pushing acceleration harder, the car started to jerk. when the car went on the slope, it made a loud clunking noise coming from the transmission. stopped the car for several minutes and restarted again, the problem was gone. the next day i took the car to the dealer. the dealer stated that they cannot duplicate the issue and no repair was performed. *tr

2014 honda odyssey touring elite began violent jerking when accelerating on 84 degree day after an hour of stop and go city driving. occurred nearly 20 times when accelerating from stop light to moderate speeds of 25/35mph. felt as if hit from behind each transitioning/accelerating 1st to 2nd gear. very scary. had my two young children in van who were equally alarmed over violent jerking. not a single service light went on during these episodes. had van towed to honda dealership where they claimed to have failed to duplicate this issue. do not feel safe with my children in this vehicle. found other 2014 odyssey owners experiencing same problem. http://m.carcomplaints.com/honda/odyssey/2014/transmission/vehicle_jerking_loud_clunking_noise.shtml. *tr

We purchaced a brand new elite (2014) our first issue the transmission bucked at low and high speeds so we took it in 2/2016. they stated that it required a frimware update. now the van vibrates between and 25-35 and also 60-65 mph also when you accelerate its now jerky and/or un-smooth with shifting. we took in to the honda dealership (8/16)to fix this new issue now the tech reports that the fluid is black. the van only has 38,000 miles....honda should issue a recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 honda odyssey. the contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the transmission began making a loud clucking noise. also, the contact mentioned that the vehicle violently jerks forward. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 10.

From a stop or yield, upon acceleration van jerked. it did this several times all the way back to the dealership. technicians could not get the van to duplicate this action, so they could do nothing. *tr

Same transmission problems as many other people with the car bucking when slowly accelerating after a stop. also accelerating problems with it being jerky and/or un-smooth. it sometimes jolts forward as well. when van is taken out of part on any incline, there is a loud "clunk" as it shifts into reverse. purchased the van brand new in june 2014. vehicle now has less than 26,000 miles on it.

We were driving in stop and go traffic in ca and our 2014 odyssey engine began to clunk and whole car jerked (like running over something like a speed bump) each time we tried to accelerate through second gear. felt like hitting something or engine falling out. the car's transmission continued to do this every time we tried to accelerate between 20-30 miles per hour. it continued to jolt/jerk/and clunk for 20 miles as we drove on the freeway. this is dangerous and made my heart skip beats as it felt like the engine was going to fall out/like being in a crash. contacted honda but their service was about to close. we pulled over to do our errand and when we restarted the car it stopped. the shifting on the vehicle is not smooth through gears. took next day to honda and they will not fix as no diagnostic codes came up and cannot get the car to duplicate issue now. now there is a tsb to update software but dealership will not do unless issue is duplicated again. safety issue that your brand new vehicle may have engine transmission fail at any point during travel. jolting is so severe when it happens that it could cause you to have an accident. *tr

Bought vehicle in march 2014, only a few months later i started having vibration in the steering wheel while braking. it continued to get worse and happened each time i would come to a stop. dealer confirmed that rotors were warped. now in a previous complaint, i wrote about my transmission problems. i don't know if the rotors were just defective or if they became warped due to being overheated with friction as a result of the transmission not functioning properly. i just want to make other owners aware of this problem. once the dealer replaced the rotors, the vibration stopped. *tr

Tl * the contact owns a 2014 honda odyssey. the contact stated while driving and shifting gears the vehicle made a loud noise and began to jerk. the brakes also made a screeching sound when she made a turn. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure and current mileage were 186.

All body part of this new van are loose.. both side front windows while open and close or open the door seems like its broke and windows shakes rear suspension very noise on brad new van seems like driving 10 year old beat up car passenger side inside between 2nd and 3rd row body parts are lose i have contact the honda they don't want to take care ..please let me know what should i do. its a new van under 5000 miles and having major issue. *tr

Transmission problems started very early on, i bought vehicle in march 2014. the transmission jerks/bucks horribly especially in lower gears, while stopping/breaking, while accelerating, and also during turns. it jolts forward at times uncontrollably. also, it doesn't shift correctly into gears, which causes rpms to get above 3000 just during regular driving. also has problems with downshifting properly. the front rotors and breaks have already had to be replaced at only 12,800 miles. imo, i believe they warped due to the fact that the transmission does not downshift properly, (this caused extra strain on them with the lack of assist from the transmission). the transmission also lags during acceleration, especially when you are trying to pass someone on the highway, even the slightest pressing of the breaks before changing lanes causes major lag with trying to regain speed, then the vehicle you originally tried to pass is now further ahead of you, so overall it is horrible with passing speed/acceleration. brought into dealer and they claim nothing is wrong. their famous lines are "no code no problem", "we can't duplicate the problem", or they say "its normal". during a test drive with the service director and the mechanic, the problem was in fact duplicated. the mechanic acknowledged that there was a problem, however the service director still insisted it was driving normal. thankfully, i audio-recorded the test drive so i do have physical proof that the mechanic acknowledge that my transmission was having problems during the test drive. i now record all my conversations with them and take pictures/video's of the various problems to have as proof since they always give me excuse after excuse and lie. i also have other various problems with my van which i will file in separate complaint due to limited space. *tr

I purchased the 2014 odyssey in march 2014. about 2 months later, going down ramp to free way (it seems that the transmission gear slip or something) and it had a hard shake. i continued to drive on freeway at high speed for a few minutes seem fine. when i exited to check out, the shake came back at lower gear. i turned off the car and turn back on and it never happened again. however, just recently, just last week, it happened again. also, i feel that the car is keep hunting for gears .. up shift and down shift and making the rides very rough. i am afraid that something like this will cause an accident later. i purchased this car because of good crash test result, but i don't want to buy a car to cause an accident. please help. *tr

Barely over 1 month ago i purchased a brand new honda odyssey. this is first new vehicle i have bought in years. big mistake. i started having trouble with acceleration, the vans jerks, shudders and make loud clunking noises. after i start the van and try to engage in reverse it goes no where...the same thing started happening when i put it in drive. i took it too the dealership that weekend and they told me there was a computer update that should fix the problem... it didn't. two days later i took it back to them and told them it was unacceptable and i wanted it fixed. that was 2 weeks ago. that is 2 weeks that they have had my "new" van that i am paying dearly for. they have admitted to feeling the problems and claim they called the honda tech line who states i am the only person in the united states that has had this issue. next week they are installing a new transmission and will continue to try new things until they find a solution. i love the fact that i am making a payment for them to play with my van as the test dummy. if i wanted a van with all these replacements i would have bought an old one and had everything rebuilt and saved alot of money and time that a working mother of 3 kids does not have. this is a nightmare!!!!! please do you homework before you purchase this year model of van. *tr

Transmission makes loud clanking noise and shudders violently at 10-20 mph during acceleration. acceleration throughout range is exceptionally sluggish and will not engage "passing gear" at highway speeds, making the vehicle dangerous to drive at low and higher speeds. problem stops when vehicle is stopped and re-started, but may reappear. dealer has not been able to duplicate problem and states honda has had no other complaints of same. however, i found almost exact same/similar complaint at http://www.carcomplaints.com within seconds of searching. i suspect it's happening to more people. in my opinion, this is a safety issue and potentially dangerous situation, especially driving in heavy traffic and the fact this vehicle is very likely to be used for hauling children. *tr

Rpms race while van is in idle an takes off with a jump in transmission. clanking noise metal on metal in rear brakes, downshifts at lower speeds when trying to accelerate above 35 mph, slowing to make a turn and transmission jumps feels like being rear ended, parking brake doesn't engage at times, on flat when putting into park transmission clunks and vehicle has a definite movement like something falling out or on vehicle, looses power at 65 mph no matter how much the gas pedal is floored then suddenly jumps into high speed thrusting van forward, transmission jumps severely when parked on a graded slope and make metal clanking sound. dealer says there are no issues and this is all normal. this is a direct safety issue for me and i am worried that something might happen causing an accident. at one point some adjustments to sensors were performed but did not correct issue. brake issue discovered and attempt was made to correct twice. told this is normal. also a loud electronic computer sounding like an ancient reboot of an old computer is greatly noticeable when the problems act up. told this is normal an no problems by the dealer. i feel i am being ignored and treated like a stupid person each time i call. service manager actually stated that his hands are tied and took to next level of district service manager who stated this is normal. i beg to differ. the district service manager did not speak with me at all. what game is honda playing. safety issues and performance of vehicle are being ignored. rearview camera is acting up as well as electric door locks and sliding doors are slow to respond while closing. worried about safety while driving. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 honda odyssey. the contact stated that while shifting from park to reverse or drive, the vehicle intermittently rolled without the brake pedal being depressed. the contact had to depress the brake pedal numerous times to prevent the vehicle from rolling. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 4,000. updated 8/14/14*cn the consumer stated the engine would shut off when the vehicle was in reverse or drive. when on a hill the vehicle would roll requiring brake action. the dealer advised the failure may be normal. updated 09/3/2014 *js
